The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: (How you character behaves, social tendencies, quirks, etc.)
April is of good moral character. She is slightly insecure about her appearance when it comes to meeting new people. She has a good sense of humor, though she does not find jokes about her plant-like appearance funny, and often fires back a hot-headed response. She is sometimes a bit clumsy and accident prone in normal activities. Nevertheless she is fairly bright, and very witty. Prefers to reason with others, rather than fight. Hobbies/ Interests:
Reading, chess, music. Job or part time job and description: (if applicable) Jobs can be established later through in character RPing. If you plan on working at the mansion it will have to be approved. Fears/ phobias/ concerns:
Horror movies Special talents: (not related to mutation)

Mutations
Mutation description:
Ability to manipulate any form of plant-life. She can use this to make plants grow about fives times larger and move at her will. The power is somewhat concentration based, so while it is possible for her to manipulate hundreds smaller plants and simpler plants, such as grass, larger, more complex plants, such as trees, require more of her concentration, often limiting her to only manipulating one at a time. The plants do not revert back to their original state on their own. Also, there are three retractable vines that can extend about 20 feet from each of the leaves on her wrists that can be used to grab onto things or dropped to be used as rope. They are manipulated in the same way she manipulates other plants. The vines do not have an actual sense of touch, so she does not feel any pain if one gets cut. As for the leaves, they themselves have no sense of touch, but if one were pulled off, it would hurt like it would if a person got their hair pulled out. Strengths:
Able to attack from a distance of about 25 feet, granted there is a plant nearby. Can use her own vines in combat. Weaknesses:
She can't change the basic properties of a plant- in other words, she can't turn a dandelion into a cactus. There has to be a live plant or viable seed to manipulate, she can't just make one appear. In order to accurately use the vines on a target, she must see where they are. Getting tangled in the vines is also bound to be an issue. Her mutation cannot be hidden easily.
Secondary mutation description: (if applicable) This mutation should be linked or make sense with your first mutation. You don't need a second mutation, but you can develop one later on with moderator approval. Strengths: Weaknesses:
Fighting Style
Explanation:
She would rather reason with an enemy than fight. If she has to fight, she would simply try to restrain or disable an opponent, rather than hurting them. Pros for fighting style:
Able to more likely solve conflicts without violence. Also, more likely to show good restraint when fighting. Cons for fighting style:
She may make the mistake of trying to reason with an enemy who can't be reasoned with. Also, not all enemies are easily restrained.
Faction Allegiance The X-men/ The Order/ The NYPD/ Unaffiliated All new characters start as unaffiliated. Joining a faction can be established through in character RPing. You don't ever need to be affiliated with one of the factions.
History Of Your Character April grew up in a normal family, with two parents and a younger sister. Near the end of her eighth grade year, she was sitting, eating lunch in the school's soccer field with a couple of her friends. Her two other friends started arguing because they both liked the same guy. In an effort to get their attention, she tossed her apple at one of them. It hit the ground, and an apple tree sapling sprang from it. This shocked April, but her friends continued arguing, having not noticed the stunt. She was a bit frightened, and did not mention this to anyone else. She felt strange the rest of the day. The next morning, she woke up, aching all over. She saw her hands, and realized she had changed! She hid in her room for some time, but finally came out when her parents promised not to freak out. It gave them quite a shock, but being decent parents, they still cared about her. Because her mutation could not be hidden, she was home-schooled for quite some time and house bound to cover up the mutation, though she occasionally sneaked out at night to avoid going stir crazy. With the home-schooling, she was able to complete her high-school eduaction. She practiced her powers a bit every day, so she could better control them.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?:
Internet Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who:
None Sample RP: It was five past midnight. The rest of her family had gone to sleep. She slipped into her sneakers, then slowly opened the window facing the backyard. She felt the fresh air and admired the full moon. Quietly, she concentrated her power on a eucalyptus tree about five feet from her window and right next to the neighbor's yard. One of the tree's limbs extended to the windowsill. She stopped and listened. But there was only silence.
She then walked onto the tree branch. She sat on the branch, and watched the neighbor's tiny Yorkshire terrior chase a rabbit. She leaned forward a bit to better view the action.
Creeeaak...SNAP! The branch she was sitting on broke. She fell, and landed on her back. Quickly, she extended the vines on her wrists and hoisted herself back into her room on the second floor. She closed the window and froze. She listened, expecting to have woken someone up. But her parents and sister were sound asleep. She rubbed her sore back and breathed a sigh of relief.
“Note to self,” she said to herself, “eucalyptus wood is not strong at all!”
