The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tasean walked around the office, a glass of Beviamo Moscato D'asti in his hand. He admitted to himself that everything had turned out nicely, especially with such a small budget. Still, the silver, white and pale gold decorations did add a certain ambiance to the room. The plastic plates, while cheap, did at least look like real glass, and had very nice floral designs on them. And if the wine came from Sam's Club, because it happened to be on sale, who cared. It was at least chilled and sweat, and the wine glasses were quite real, and rather expensive. Somethings you just couldn't skimp on, and serving wine in red plastic cups was a definite no-no.
Continuing his rounds, he nodded at one of the party guest, who was also one of his clients. A young mutant girl who could make anything stick to anything else, as if they were magnets. And whose parents had left her on the streets after she had accidentally stuck her younger brothers together one too many times. He smiled at her, and then peered into he cup, just to make sure it was the sherber-punch-ginger ale concoction he had made for his underage and non-drinker guest and not wine. Satisfied that her beverage was age appropriate, her moved on, heading towards the entrance of the agency as more guest arrived.
The young mutant social worker was expecting a rather nice turn out. He had sent invitations to both the Sanctuary and the Mansion, inviting all of the residence there to attend this little social. He has also sent invites to the Mutant Related Crimes division of the NYPD, since he knew Jorge, and posted a bunch of fliers all over the net, including Twitter and Facebook. The more people that came, the better for Tasean. He needed more clients, to prove that this agency served a real purpose, and he needed donations, to continue servicing the few clients he did have. Tasean sincerely hoped that this social would drum up some interest, business and money so he could continue doing what he loved doing.
Before he reached the door, he stopped at the buffet and tapped a young man who had one too many seafood salad in lettuce leaf cups on his plate, and give him a warning eye, before continuing on to the door, to greet the new arrivals.

There was a bit of a buzz going around the Mansion concerning a little get together that some Mutant Social Services organization was putting together. From what he'd heard it was some sort of charity or donation event or something. One of those raise awareness kind of things. At least, that's what he'd gathered. Aleksandr's information hunting consisted largely of lazing in front of a roaring fireplace and eaves dropping on the conversations kids were having in passing. It was so hard to drum up the energy even to slither around the large building during such a gloomy season.
A social had sounded like just the thing to lift his spirits a bit and to, at least temporarily, relieve him of the cabin fever he often fell victim to during the colder months. He very rarely ventured outdoors when the temperature dropped. It was much too miserable an experience. However, for a little fun, he could brave the chilly pavement and the cold bus ride to the destination printed on the invitation he'd managed to find lying around.
A glass of wine was definitely his top priority once he'd slid off the street and into the designated building. He was more of a vodka drinker, as certain stereotypes would have demanded anyhow, but a couple glasses of wine could warm the blood just as well. And the glasses were so lovely. He made a mental note to be extra careful while carrying it. Not only would he be terribly embarrassed if he were to drop it, but there was also the unpleasant thought of broken glass working its way between his scales. No thank you.
Casually he drifted off to one side of the room to observe for the time being. He'd begin mingling a little when more guests arrived and he'd had a bit more wine. A little liquid courage couldn't hurt when there were so many feet to tread on his lovely tail and discourage too much movement.
Lumen had been spending quite a lot of time in Paul's apartment. While she was happy to see their relationship progressing she was more than happy to be invited to Tasean's get together. It was a chance to go out and be a little independent from Paul, mingle with people, and potentially make some new contacts. She never ruled off any idea when it came to finding out more information.
She was dressed in a form fitting dress that came to her neck but had bare arms. It was a silvery material that caught the light just right. She felt it would be appropriate for the weather considering it went down to her ankles too. Sexy, but practical. And damnit if she didn't look both those things.
When she entered the room she knew Tasean was on the same wave length as she was. Not only was he a mutant with light capabilities but the man knew how to dress up a room. There were dozens of guests floating by, food and drinks, and Tasean himself greeting people as they came in. "Tasean!" she called out with a smile. "Thank you so much for inviting me, everything looks simply wonderful." she said not bothering to hide her accent. Tasean had one too, and he thought they were cool!

Tasean gave a genuine grin when he saw Lumen, and pulled her into a light embrace, appropriate for greeting guests and acquaintances.
"I'm glad that you could make it" he told her, as he placed his now empty wine glass on the buffet table.
He gave a sweeping motion, indicating the entire agency. "It isn't much yet, but it's mine, and I do good with it. Hopefully after tonight, I will be able to do even more" the light-riding social worker said, hope coloring his tone.
As he looked around another quick time, he noticed the half-snake man in the corner, and his eyes widened briefly in surprise. He had seen a number of mutants with outward mutations, but none like this. A guy with a beak was the most outlandish he had ever encountered. He also noticed that the man was in a corner by himself, and that simply would not do. He may look incredibly different, but still he was a guest, and to a southern, guest were sacred.
Tasean turned back to Lumen, but kept the snake man in his peripheral, so that he could go and engage him after he made sure Lumen was comfortable.
"Anything I can get for ya hun?" Tasean asked his fellow light wielding mutant friend.
