The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tasean sat in his office, leaning backing eyes starring at the ceiling, but his mind looking at something else. Every light within the agency was on, giving Tasean the ability to see everything on the agencies floor. Right now, his mind was viewing a small little spider that was building a web in a low corner of one of the agencies cubicles. When you could literally expand your consciousness through light, worlds opened up. Tasean thought to himself, that if things didn't work out with the Mutant Social Services agency, he might decide to join the CIA and become 00Mutant. For now though, it was time to get back to work.
With little effort, Tasean returned his mind to it's proper place, the brain trapped in the bone cage of his skull. The aurora borealis of colors that danced across his eyes whenever he used his mutant ability slowly faded as everything settled back to normal. Before his little mind skimming adventure Tasean had been researching the missing mutant children that Lumen had told him about days ago. At present he had hit a dead end. Being a social worker gave him some ins, but being a social worker in the private sector, and not working for the government barred him from a lot of information. Being a social worker who worked for mutants exclusively shut most of the rest of the doors that weren't already opened. Tasean had one last hope of getting some information, and also offering his own services, if they were so needed.
He leaned forward, and starting clicking on the keys and mouse of his computer. With the power of technology, every business card Tasean had ever received was easily accessible on the computer in a neat little file. Which was a miracle in and of itself, because Tasean was notorious for not keeping up with the small little paper cards. It became especially frustrating on those lonely nights when Tasean couldn't find the number of some any guy who had a more personal type of business in mind when he handed over his card.
In a few seconds the name and contact of who Tasean was looking for was on the computer screen, and with just another click, the office phone was dialing the number, and when someone picked up, Tasean clicked another button to answer the phone. The wonders of technology.
"Can I speak to Detective Jorge?" Tasean asked politely, not knowing if Jorge had a secretary or assistant answering his phone or not.

Jorge
Jorge sighed. He sighed because he looked at the pile of files on his desk, he simply had no clue what he was going to do. Kids were missing, a majority of them mutants, there had to be a connection to Sebastian Csendes but he simply could not find one. Whatever the case, something was going wrong and for the life of him he could not figure it out. There was some other factor in this case that was not making itself known and as much as the detective prided himself it keeping faith that these cases could be solved, there was simply something not working here.
Leaning back in his chair, he sighed as he reached over and plucked up his replacement Miami Dolphin’s coffee mug and took a long sip from the piping hot brew. He cracked his neck to the side as he tried to release some of the tension on his shoulders and sighed. Nothing in his case was making sense and he prayed there would be some break in it somewhere.
But as he sat there, staring at the cases and almost willing them to solve themselves, there was a sudden ringing on his desk. He blinked away the wariness and the detective sat forward, to see his desk phone blinking red to show that he had an incoming call. It was a direct call so that could only mean it was someone he knew or someone had dialed the number on one of his contact cards. He hoped it was not another one of the parents with a missing child. He was doing everything he could to find them, but he couldn’t be successful if they were constantly chewing him out.
He took a second to compose himself, keep his resolve strong, and plucked the phone off the cradle before it rang too many times and the caller hung up.
“MRC…” was all he said at first.
>> "Can I speak to Detective Jorge?"
He arched a brow. The voice was slightly familiar but he could not place it at first. Setting down his coffee mug he cleared his throat before he introduced himself.
“ This is Detective Jorge Cervantes, speaking. How may I help you?” he asked as he plucked up a pen and a notepad from his desk.

Tasean gave a sigh of relief when he heard Jorge speak. "Hey Jorge, this is Tasean, at the Mutant Social Services agency" he informed Jorge. "I was wondering, if you weren't too busy, if maybe we could meet up? I've been researching some stuff about some missing mutant kids, this women Lumen told me about it, but I'm reaching a dead end. I was wondering if you knew anything?" Tasean asked.
Every since he had heard about the case, it had been at the forefront of his mind. He didn't know what was going on, but missing mutant children did not bode well in his mind. Various scenarios of them being sold as slaves in human trafficking rings, or tested in science labs constantly played out in his mind.

Jorge
>> "Hey Jorge, this is Tasean, at the Mutant Social Services agency…”
Tasean?
Jorge thought for a moment as the name rebounded inside of his head. It did certainly sound familiar, and that mixed with the sound of his voice began to echo inside of his head over and over and over again until finally it began to knock a little part loose. Agnes… He connected Tasean’s name with Agnes so it was obvious that those two related in some manner to him. Then he finally did make the connection.
He had gone to man, asking about the church that Agnes’ parents ran. It was with Tasean’s help that Jorge was able to build a pretty strong case against her parents and many of their own followers. Many of them had mutant children who had been tortured as well so in the end the evidence only piled up against them and their cause.
With Tasean’s research, Agnes’ parents and many like them would never see the light of day again. He blinked though when he heard Tasean continue…
>> “…I was wondering, if you weren't too busy, if maybe we could meet up? I've been researching some stuff about some missing mutant kids, this women Lumen told me about it, but I'm reaching a dead end. I was wondering if you knew anything?"
Ah, Lumen. He had to smirk. She was definitely doing her job and leaving nothing uncovered…
Jorge had to think for a moment though. He had to admit that maybe it was a good idea to share with Tasean what he knew. These kids had to be found and if a mutant social services could aid in that search, then he definitely didn’t see why they should not be informed. Who knows, they could compare notes and maybe, just maybe it could lead to something useful.
“I see Lumen has lassoed you in as well,” Jorge said with a silent nod. “Alright, you name a time and place and I can meet you there.”

Tasean smiled, happy that the detective was available, and thankful that he might be able to finally get some information. He leaned back in his chair, finally able to relax a little after all the hours or research and reaching dead ends.
"How about over here at the agency in two hours" Tasean asked. That would give him enough time to compile what little information he had been able to gather togeether. It would also allw him to think of exactly what to say to Jorge to convince the man to let Tasean help out.
"I'll order up some lunch for us, my treat. You like cantonese?"

Jorge
>> "How about over here at the agency in two hours"
Jorge nodded. He knew that that would give him plenty of time to gather some of his materials about the case. Too much was happening in this case. There were too many variables and loose ends that Jorge felt like he was clawing at a brick wall. How were these cases connected? What was he missing and how long before something would present itself for being solved? It was just too much at one time for him to be able to make any sense of it.
Lumen was doing her best. Maybe Tasean could help shed some light as well. If there was anything he was in more desperate need of at the moment, it was a little more light.
He nodded.
“Sounds like a plan to me.”
>> "I'll order up some lunch for us, my treat. You like cantonese?"
He smirked. Though he had never really had such food before (Him being a more burger, fries, and doughnuts type of guy) Jorge was pretty much willing to try anything once. So he simply nodded on the phone as he started to gather up some of his files and open up other documents for printing.
“Sounds tasty,” he said encouragingly. “I’ll see you at the agency, Tasean.”
Once goodbyes were exchanged, Jorge hung up his office phone and returned to his computer. Then he saw the most dreaded thing that a person could ever see when they needed to use their computer for something important. The small window blinked over and over again and the detective grumbled as his tipped his head back with a sigh.
Printer Out Of Ink the screen flashed. He shook his head as he stood up. And stormed for the supply closet. So the battle with technology began.

~*A couple hours later*~
Tasean was sitting in his office, savoring the smells of the Cantonese food wafting throughout the agency. He wanted to dive right into the good, his stomach was practically touching the back of his spine and making some rather loud noises, but he waited. It would be more than rude to invite someone over for a work lunch, and then eat all the food before they arrived. And Tasean was quite sure he could eat every piece of food that was laid out before him.
To distract himself, however briefly, Tasean decided to call down to the security desk, to inform them to let Jorge on up without preamble.
"Front Desk Security" the older gentlemen who sat at the desk said.
"Yes this is Mr. Walker, up at the mutant social services agency. I'm expecting a visitor, a Detective with the NYPD. Please send him up when he gets here." Tasean said. He knew that certain security guards down there would harass some of his visitors if given the chance. And he was also quite sure that Jorge wouldn't put up with it.

Jorge
It was awhile but Jorge had finally managed to get to Tasean’s building. Not that he was extremely late, couple minutes at most, but Jorge rather prided himself at being at meetings directly on time or at least a couple minutes early. Unfortunately today was not going to be the case. Because of the printers at his work and the veritable cornucopia of printing cartridge choices Jorge had a difficult time finding the one that actually worked for his printer.
Sigh.
Whatever happened to typewriters? Typewriters he understood because he could see the moving parts. He was probably the last guy in his old precinct that still used one. Maybe he could do the same here?
Well, Jorge shook his head and returned to reality as he climbed out of his Chevy Impala and stood outside, staring up at the large building. The last time he was here it was because of Agnes. And again he was coming here in order to deal with a very disagreeable case. It was the cases that dealt with kids that got to him the most. And this was proving to be no exception.
Reaching into the backseat, Jorge pulled out a file box that was filled to the brim with missing person’s reports. He wondered if Tasean would be surprised by the amount that he had. In a way it was odd. This a box full of this many missing people should have panic in the streets. The unfortunately truth was that people disappeared all the time. Boxes like this were not rare. What made it rare was the fact that these were all possibly connected to the same case.
He sighed as he shook his head, tucked the box under one arm and nudged his car door closed. Once that was taken care of he made his way into the building.
A quick flash of his badge and he was waved through to the elevator. No problems with security, no issues with the receptionist, instead he was ushered right along. Thankfully it seemed like they were all waiting for him.
Upon reaching the Mutant Social Services floor, though, the second the doors open Jorge was hit with that scent of food. He had to admit that it really did smell good. But he set his hungry aside for now because he was not here for food, he was here primarily to work. He really, really hoped that Tasean had stumbled upon something useful with his own research.
“Tasean?” Jorge asked curiously as he stepped into the offices. “It’s Detective Cervantes. You home?” He began to follow the smell in search.

Tasean heard the detective call his name and answered him quickly.
"Yeah I'm here, in the back" the young social worker replied, getting up to meet Jorge at the door to his personal office.
When Tasean finally saw Jorge he grinned, very relief that Jorge was able to make it. His eyes widened however at the load that mutant detective was carrying. "Tell me you've got girl scout cookies stuff in the bottom of the box, and not a bunch of case files." Tasean said.
He knew that there were a number of missing mutant kids, but he didn't know how big this case actually was. If that case box was any indication whatsoever, Tasean hadn't even reached the tip of the iceberg with this problem.
He motioned for Jorge to come into the office, and he pushed some of the boxes of food to the side, to make room on his desk for the file cox.

Jorge
Jorge peered around the office curiously. Just where could this man be? The smell of food was in the air, and it was a smell that he could only assume was the Cantonese that he had been invited to. So, being the detective that he was, he decided to try and follow his nose! And no, not like that creepy, parrot fruit cereal character. He didn’t have a nose that big. But still, it was a valid form of investigation.
He sniffed…sniffed…and then a voice called out.
>> "Yeah I'm here, in the back"
…okay so he didn’t need to follow his nose. Just the nice voice of a social worker who was somewhere in the back of the small office. Thankfully the man came out to meet him. Then, once Tasean caught sight of the box he was carrying, the man seemed shocked.
Yup, it certainly was a lot of case files.
>> "Tell me you've got girl scout cookies stuff in the bottom of the box, and not a bunch of case files."
“Of course, I do,” Jorge said with a nod. “But don’t be surprised if those cookies look like case files.” The detective then proceeded to place the box down on the desk that Tasean had cleared for it. He sighed as he stepped back. “Nope, all case files, all quasi-related. I sure hope you have something useful.”

Tasean gave a someone defeated sigh as he sat down in his office chair, and motioned for Jorge to take the chair opposite of him. The young light riding mutant hadn't been able to find much information, and what little he had received, he was quite sure that Jorge probably already knew about. Still this meeting wasn't a total bust, with as many files as were in the box, Tasean was going to be able to get some much needed information.
"No, nothing that you probably already don't know. But maybe a fresh pair of eyes looking over some of these files might discover something previously over looked." Tasean said, as he began to put some of the food on a small plate. The vegetables cooked in an oyster sauce were his favorite so he took a hefty portion of those, along with some pork and chicken in sweet and sour sauce.
"So Jorge, tell me, exactly whats going on. Lumen didn't get too specific, and I haven't been able to delve to deeply. Is this looking more like a kidnapping case, or just a bunch of runaways or what?" Tasean asked, eager to learn as much as he could, and help in whatever way possible.

>> "No, nothing that you probably already don't know. But maybe a fresh pair of eyes looking over some of these files might discover something previously over looked."
Jorge nodded to the man as he took a seat.
Slightly disappointing but he knew that Tasean did have a point. Even though the man more than likely had no new information for him, maybe a fresh set of eyes were in order. He stared at those files far too many times for his own liking. He could probably recite them by heart. But there had to be some connection that he was missing. Something hopefully that Tasean could see.
The man began to gather his own food and Jorge did the same once Tasean was all settled in. He took what he recognized, even a few things he didn’t, and sighed as he glanced at those files. It was going to be long day.
>> "So Jorge, tell me, exactly what’s going on. Lumen didn't get too specific, and I haven't been able to delve to deeply. Is this looking more like a kidnapping case, or just a bunch of runaways or what?"
The detective sighed. It really was a hell of a story.
“Stays between us, but to be honest not everyone at the MRC can fully piece it together. Months ago we started getting more reports than normal about kids and teenagers disappearing. The thing was drew our attention was that they were all mutants,” he explained. “Mutants that simply vanished, as if they had never existed. We can’t explain it.” he said as he reached into the box and began to pull out a few files. “To coincide with this,” he pulls out another set of files and sets them in front of Tasean. “There is general mayhem. While it can be explained away as urban life, the problem is that these incidents also are connected with sightings of one man…Sebastian Csendes and they have been growing in regularity. We think, somehow, the two incidents are connected. But for the life of us…we don’t know how…”

Tasean listened intently, filing away informational mentally. He especially took notice of the name Sebastian. It wasn't one that he had heard of, or had come across in any of his research, but it was something he would definitely look further into.
"Well on my end, I really haven't heard too much. Since I've heard about the cases, I have warned what few clients and walk-ins we get here at the agency to be careful" Tasean informed Jorge.
He leaned back in his chair, placing his plate of food back on the office desk, staring at the file box. This case was peculiar in deed, and turning out to be much deeper than Tasean had initially realized. He didn't know exactly how he could help, but that he would definitely help in any and every way possible.
"Anyone know where this Sebastian hangs out or frequents?" Tasean asked.
He was no cop or vigilante, but with his mutant ability, he could scope out things without having to but himself in harms way. And his way of seeing was much better than looking through binoculars. Maybe if he could find some places were this Sebastian character had been spotted, he could try and find something, or something.

>> "Well on my end, I really haven't heard too much. Since I've heard about the cases, I have warned what few clients and walk-ins we get here at the agency to be careful"
“Hey, that at least that’s something,” Jorge said honestly as he sat back in his seat. He glanced at the box of files and really did not want to see anymore names added to it. “Raising awareness is a good, especially since you’re working with a sector that seems to be greatly affected by it.”
Jorge secretly wished that the MRC would release a public statement but he knew that they didn’t want to cause mass panic. The last thing that the police needed was for people to be freaking out because they feared mutants were being kidnapped or that humans were being lashed out against because of the were suspected.
But at least Tasean’s approach seemed to be…cleaner. Get the information to those who knew how to handle it. He had to commend Tasean for that foresight.
>> "Anyone know where this Sebastian hangs out or frequents?"
A frank look at Tasean and he nodded.
“We all do,” he said with a matter of fact tone. It wasn’t a secret around the precinct. He let Tasean let that sink that in before he continued. “Problem is, we have nothing we can touch with him. Man’s clean and we cannot find any sort of connection that could so much as lead him to be question. But,” Jorge said as he pulled out another file from the box and opened it for Tasean. “The coincidences keep piling. You know there was a spike in the number of mutant child through teen disappearances the day that Sebastian own son,” he pointed to the file, “Jude Csendes disappeared? Kid was only 12 and we can’t find a single trace of him. It’s as if he’s vanished.”
He sighed as he crossed his arms over his chest. The detective was clearly seeing something, a connection, but he lacked the ability to fully understand what it was. It was like seeing something out of the corner of your eye, turning your head, and never being able to lock onto it. It was frustrating, especially because the cases involved kids. He didn’t know if they were alive or dead…
“But yeah, we do know where he is,” he said truthfully. “We see him usually at the old Church of Humanity Building, but so far he isn’t doing anything illegal. There has been some activity around there, though. People showing up, almost as if they’re going to mass or something. Other than that…we’re at a stand still.”

Tasean listened as Jorge explained more about the details of the case, and a little about this Sebastian person. Tasean had heard a little about the Church of Humanities, but he had never visited the building. Interesting that there was suddenly some activity around the building. The most interesting fact however was that all of these missing mutant cases spiked when Sebastian's son disappeared. Tasean was quite sure that if anyone ever found out what happened to the son and you would probably find out what happened to everyone else.
"Maybe I could scope around the Church?" Tasean asked. "See what I can find out? I'm pretty sure no one around there would recognize me, unless one of my clients is there as well, which I doubt" he said.
Maybe if he could get close enough, he could find something, or see something that the regular eye couldn't. Tasean was sure Jorge had the best people working on this, with the best equipment, but Tasean's ability was something different altogether. Tasean's mind wasn't hindered by walls, as long as there was light and a window. And instead of looking from a distance, his images came crystal clear, as if he was right there. Maybe there was something he could see, that perhaps someone else missed.
