The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: Max likes to kick back and hang out most of the time. He’s very laid back, but he’s also driven by his work ethic to always better himself. He’s the guy that will sit back and observe on a conversation then insert a witty comment at just the right moment so that everyone laughs. He likes being careful about how he does things, this nature is kind of a product of his gifts. He has a logical, methodical way of thinking. He can be very stubborn when he wants to be as well, especially when it comes to his beliefs. He’s very non-judgmental most of the time. And he will help you out if you ask him to. He’s just a genuine guy. Hobbies/ Interests: Reading, video games, minor carpentry, likes training for short endurance races. For example, a 5k. Not a marathon. Job or part time job and description: (if applicable) Jobs can be established later through in character RPing. If you plan on working at the mansion it will have to be approved. Fears/ phobias/ concerns:Dislikes roller-coasters/amusement park rides. Due to his gift he’s very wary when it comes to things built for normal people. Drowning. Special talents: (not related to mutation) Remembers mostly everything he reads. Has great retention ability. Which is mostly why he doesn’t need to study for school. Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Max is very good. He was brought up that there is a difference between right and wrong and he can be very stubborn about it. But he is beginning to learn that there’s more than just black and white. There are all sorts of colors that don’t necessarily fit in the spectrum.
Mutations
Mutation description:Increased body density. Max’s mutation is that his body is about 2.5 times more dense than that average person’s. Strengths:Due to the increased density he is more able to withstand forces that could knock back or kill a normal human. His skin is thicker so his body is more able to resist puncture wounds as well. Weaknesses:Since he is 2.5 times heavier than normal, he has to watch where he sits down, be cautious on elevators, as well as when he swims. He’s not one for going into old, abandoned houses. He can not manipulate this, it is constant.
Secondary mutation description: Superhuman strength. This is because he has to carry around 2.5 his body weight so naturally he’s about 2.5-3.0 times stronger than he would be normally for his size. Strengths: Superhuman strength makes him great for your average labor/chores. Weaknesses:Max has to be in constant awareness about his strength level even when doing the simplest of tasks.
Fighting Style A little bit of tae kwon doe and wrestling.
Explanation:He is into martial arts as a form of exercise, but isn’t able to spar against others. Even with limited experience he has great fighting instincts. Pros for fighting style:Has an advantage over the average person due to more knowledge and gifts. Cons for fighting style:Limited experience. If he went up against a practiced person he could hold his own, possibly win due to his strength but an experienced person could overcome his advantage.
Faction Allegiance Unaffiliated

But he was never able to participate in sports because his parents didn’t want him to accidentally hurt another child. He’s the oldest of five siblings and has always had to help provide for his family. Max has always had a job since he was 15 years old. He has always been aware of his powers since he could remember and tries to remain inconspicuous from the eyes of the public.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: I’ve been on this site before. Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: I used to have one called Seraph, and another that went by Aiden.
Sample RP: Max grabbed a beer from the refrigerator and began to walk back to the front porch. He slid cautiously into the reinforced rocking chair that he had built himself. He was always careful with furniture. Just like he was always careful with people too. He twisted off the cap and to a gulp from the bottle. He wasn’t a heavy drinker by any means. What was wrong with having a beer every now and then? The liquid tingled down his throat as he still pondered his dilemma. He had received a letter from some school up in New York that said he had been accepted when he could remember he had never sent in an application. Max had never even heard of the school. It was some institute for gifted people. Maybe it was just another word for a prison for mutants. But then how could they have discovered that he was one? Only his family knew about him, another than a few people that he had helped every once in a while. Maybe they had heard about the bouncer that someone had attempted to stab, then the offender had their jaw broken. No, he shook his head. That story hadn’t even made local news, let alone national. Thankfully he had been able to keep that quiet. He pulled out the letter again, so he could read through it one more time. Max had done this at least ten times at this point and could recite it word for word almost. But, nothing. Not even a clue as to how they found out about his powers. Only that if he wished to be enrolled in the fall semester he should make an appearance at the institute as soon as possible. Max wanted to travel to New York to get some answers. He wanted to find out more about this school. What if there were other mutants there? What if he could fit in and get a normal education and not work dead end jobs? Max didn’t resent that his family couldn’t afford college, he just accepted the fact. That’s the way it was. But he still wanted something more for himself than to just spend the rest of his life at home helping his parents pay the bills. Max had decided that he would talk to his parents about this letter he received and about his future. Taking another drink from the bottle, he considered his options. “A man should always want something better for himself,” he decided. And he waited for his parents to get home from work.
