The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I know which is why I got here today to plea my case. I haven't formally announced it in any school fourms but I intend on majoring in mutation in the medical field and an opportunity like this may never fall into my lap again. *Delphi replies very seriously.*
"I see." Dr. Kestet regards Delphi. "This woman's family didn't even know she was a mutant. How we proceed with her cadaver is going to be very tricky. And again, there's the angle that you are a first year med student."
I am going to be frank and I would appreciate you not informing everyone of what I am going to tell you. I am a mutant and at the moment we are not exactly given the attention that we should, medically I mean. While my mutation manifest in blue hair there are so many other aspects that need to be looked into. I plan on devoting my life to this and starting early never bothered me. Whatever information you feel I am insufficient in the knowledge of I will start studying immediatly of course. *Delphi says giving her most heart felt speech.*
Dr.Kestet sits back in her chair, thinking. After a period of silence she nods. "Well. I'm going to refer you to Dr.VanDeKeamp for a final approval, but if it's alright with him, I will give you my recommendation."
I can't express how much I appreciate you even considering me let alone this. You will not regret it. *Del says very thankfully and then realizing she doesn't know a Dr. VanDeKamp asks,* How do I find Dr. VanDeKamp?
"He's probably in his office today. His office is in the hospital facilities, room 235... Let me write up a recommendation for you first." she says, pulling out her stationary. When she hands the envelope to Delphi she says, "Good luck." And offers a smile.
Thank you again Dr. Kestet. *Delphi says accepting the envelope and heading for the teaching hospital intent on persuaying this Dr. VanDeKamp that she should get the assistant job. Finding his office she walks into a waiting room and heads to the receptionist.* Hello, my name is Cassandra Starling I am a pre med student at NYU and Dr. Kester sent me here to speak with Dr. VanDeKamp if he is available, if not I'll wait. *Delphi explains to the receptionist.*
The receptionist regards her. "You'll have to wait a few minutes I think." She has a bit of snotty attitude, regarding Delphi with slight disgust. "I'll let him know you're here though." She says, overly patronizing, ducking into the office.
*Delphi silently takes a seat. She hates how the receptionist give her that distasteful look. It isn't her fault she looks like a punk with her hair. She hardly dresses like it anymore. She is wear black slacks, nice shoes, and a fitted blouse that is a light shade of blue. You'd think that would help with people's perceptions but it really doesn't.*
The receptionist returns, still regarding Delphi distastefully. "He'll be free in a few minutes. Have a seat?" She suggests. She's only a Med Student herself, fulfilling some sort of credit or another by acting as Dr.VanDeKamp secretary.
Minutes pass, and the secretary packs up. Apparently she's not there for the entire day. When she leaves, the Doctor still hasn't called her in.
*Delphi quickly realizes that the receptionist probably didn't tell Dr. VanDeKamp of her arrival due to the fact Del doesn't anticapate him coming out of his office anytime soon. She gets up and decides to try the bell, hopefully that will get the Dr.'s attention.*
When she rings the bell, there is a cheerful "Coming" from the back room, and Dr.VanDeKamp appears in the door way of his office. "Hello there" He says, smiling. Judging by his accent, he's a Brit. He's tall, with nicely brushed black hair, some light graying at the temples. Dimples, a strong jaw and kind but intense blue eyes behind wire rimmed glasses. Not all all bad looking. "Can I help you?"
Umm . . .Dr. VanDeKamp? *Delphi asks tentativly, gettin a nodd she continues to explain her desire to be an assistant on the mutant autopsy and presents Dr. Kestet's letter or introduction. Delphi has left out that she is a mutant, once again she is only going to say that as a last resort.*
"So..." He leans against the receptionist desk, facing her. "Dr. Kestet seems to think you'd be good for the job... But why exactly is it so important that you work on this particular body? The number of cadavers we do autopsy work on is not exactly in the shy numbers. We normally let the upperclassmen have first crack at the assisting positions, though." He raises an eyebrow, good naturedly.
