The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

No pets, you haven't been back to the mother land for a while now, tell me your family visits you occasionally at least. Siblings? *Delphi asks, trying to not make it seem like his life is depressing, just that she is curious.*
"You're making me sound like some sort of horrible pathetic old man who has no joy in his life." Dr.VanDeKamp says with a laugh. "I call my mother every now and again."
Good, now what else do you do for fun? *Delphi asks as the pull back the sheet on the body and get to work, Del supplies things needed so the conversation needs not even be intrupted.*
Delphi tries not to laugh, ok I see how you became head of surgery now. Well you must like something nonmedical. The arts, do you like paintign, or music, or performance pieces? *Delphi asks trying for anything.*
"As much as the next man, I'd say." He says, as they finish the prep work. "Alright. Cover her up. Family's due in... fifteen minutes, at the latests. We'll wait in the main lobby."
Sounds like a plan.*Delphi says covering up the body and tossing anything with blood on it in the clothing receptical next to the door and grabbing fresh stuff.* What do you know about the family?
"Non denominational, middle class family. The cadaver was a mother of three. According to this, the husband and eldest child- a daughter- will be coming in. " He says, checking a chart. "That's about it."
Well at least it is a starting ground. I need to get a feel for what they are like to know at least where to start with talking to them. So of course as the person in charge you go first. *Delphi points out, a little happy that the ball isn't staring out in her court.*
"Of course." He says with a reassuring smile. "Ah, and here they come now." He says, as an elder man and a girl looking to be about Delphi's age or maybe a little bit older enter.
The two look a bit more conservative, well the older man does, the girl looks pretty normal. "Dr. VanDeKamp?" The man asks, "I got a call from your receptionist asking me to come down regarding my wife."
"Yes, and thankyou both for coming down on such short notice." He shakes both their hands, which isn't a problem, as he's wearing clean medical gloves. "Your late wife and mother donated her body to the school for use as a cadaver, as I'm sure you know." He gestures for them to follow him, and they head into the morgue, where the body is. It's covered up, and a more private area for talking, but they are both slightly uncomfortable around it. "The late Mrs.Halsey's body was being used in a lab in which her digestive system was to be the topic of discussion, but when they opened her up, we discovered that she had some- abnormalities." He ushers the two to the bench he and Delphi had been sitting on earlier. "The simplest way to put this, Mr.Halsey, Ms.Halsey, is that the late Mrs. Halsey.... was X-gene positive. A mutant." He says gently.
"What- hold on now my wife was a respected member of society and we were married for 23 years I would know if she were-was a mutant!" Mr. Hasley says, not happy but this is a bit of a shock.
His daughter on the other hand doesn't look like this new comes as a whole lot of a shock to her, mildly surprised but not even close to her father's level.
*Delphi picks up on both of there feelings easily. In Mr. Hasley's case she is glad the nurse's cap covers her hair completely and in the daughters case, well she'd like to get her alone. Del has a feeling about her but she would need to get her alone for it towork.*
