The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Damn, she's fast... Mike parried the blow, backing up to gain room. As she charged at him, he hopped down, catching the beam with one hand, and swinging himself back up behind her, giving a short swipe at her feet with his staff.

Daria fell to her face and tumbled over landing on her feet, just at the edge of the beam.
She teetered for a moment and in a suspensful instant it seemed as if she would fall back. But she hopped up and landed a bit closer to Mike and a bit farther from the edge.
"Nice try, honey." She grinned and held the staff up to block her body.
"Can't fault a guy for trying," He said, spinning his staff around until it was back in front if him. He smirked, a playful gleam in his eyes. "C'mon... bring it."
"Oh, we can't have that," Mike joked, hopping from beam to beam until he was up on a level with her. He didn't even bother trying to swing, figuring she'd expect him to come in swinging, instead he held his staff ready for whatever she had prepared for him.

Daria actually had been expecting him to swing, to catch her on the edge of the beam and make her fall. He didn't though and she had to think on her toes.
She ran forward and flipped over him. As he spun to block her she hooked her staff into his in an attempt to throw him. She herself had misjudged the distance and her heels slightly passed the edge of the beam. She was heavily relying on her tail.
Mike let the staff hook through his, then grabbed it so that he was holding both staves. It was a desperate gambit, but you had to take risks. Trying to steady himself, he swung both staves, pushing them against her to push her clear of the beam.

"MEOW!" Daria exclaimed without thinking. She was panicking now as she fell over-but she refused to go down alone. She pulled at her staff so that Mike fell forward with her and they both went sailing down towards the padded floor.
She panicked now because her back was still to the floor. She grabbed him roughly by the shoulders and shifted her weight in an attempt to switch positions-so he would hit the floor first.
"Oh, hell no," Mike grunted, swinging his legs to shift his weight and bring her back to the bottom. They wrestled like that until Mike realized that they were rapidly approaching the floor, and neither one of them had their feet downward. "Ah, shit," he muttered.

Daria fought her instincts to teleport and they hit the floor simultaneously on their sides. They rolled away from eachother.
"Training simulation complete. Draw" the danger room announced.
Daria moaned. Her arm and hip were a bit sore. Could be worse. You could have won. she joked. But instead it was a draw...again. Good times, Mike. Good times.
"Ow... oww... Okay, that hurt," Mike groaned, rolling over and crawling over to Daria's side, half laughing. "One of these days... Just one of these days, I'll finally get you," he teased.

She grinned. "I wouldn't count on it." After a moment of thought she turned to face him.
"But you did give me a challenge. I'm always surprised you can keep up like that." a sly smile spread accross her face. "Although, you keep up with me often enough that I should know better by now."
