The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Unlike the other Factions, the X-Men don’t always have a clear plan to actually bring their vision of the world to fruition. They’re mainly a team that only “responds” to situations rather than do anything “proactive”. This puts them at a constant disadvantage since they are always the ones making the second move. I think it’d be interesting for the X-Men to create a clear battle plan for making peace between mutants and humans possible, because just brawling against baddies isn’t cutting it.
I had one idea for a clear battle plan that actually doesn’t involve fighting at all; a Public Relations plan. The X-Men could create a lot of change in the way people viewed mutants by proactively launching a full force public relations plan to turn the tide of anti-mutant sentiment. Things like pro-mutant advertising, community service, funding mutant arts, mutant music, etc. Because, let’s face it, when the X-Men are only seen in the public eye when they are fighting in the streets, it could be hard for the general public to see why they are any less violent than other mutant groups.
The X-men have always done things like this to extent. The difference would be that under this project things like community service would no longer be viewed as “extra-curricular” but “top priority”. A mission to stop a mutant from robbing a bank would become just as important as sending a team out to do repairs on a Domestic Violence Shelter, because both can do a lot to help mutants and humans work and live in peace with each other.
This plan would also allow mutants to creatively use powers that have usually only been used for battle. For example, mutants with ice powers could serve free ice cream in Central Park, or maybe create beautiful ice sculptures as art. Mutants with flying abilities could offer children free rides through the city. Genius mutants could help by tutoring underprivileged students after school. Whatever the power, the New Dawn Project would encourage a mutant to use their powers in a healthy, nonviolent way.
I came up with the name “The New Dawn Project” because it focuses on bringing about mutant and human harmony through peace, not violence, thus creating a new chance and a “new dawn” for both mutants and humans alike.

Seems like a good idea to me! Getting the X-Men out and about for something other than combat sounds like a good idea. It'd be a great way to get that whole living in peace message out.
I think this is a fantastic plan and long overdue. As Director of Public Relations for the Mansion and X-Men, I'd like you to submit this idea to me IC so we can see what we can't get done. I'd also like to announce that Garrett is in the process of forming a non profit organization called MORA (Mutant Outreach Resource Alliance), in which he will be approaching all of the mutant businesses in the next few weeks about participating in. Way to bring this to the forefront, Micah! Karma this guy.

Even though Meld is an Orderling, this is actually something that she's been wanting to see happen for a long time as well. Although I've done a poor job of advertising it IC, Meld has for a long time had fliers around advertising herself and her cell as someone willing to help mutants and has helped a couple to actually find places to stay in either Sanctuary or The Mansion. Although her violent nature might put her at odds with what a campaign of this variety is trying to accomplish, if she was to hear about such a thing it is, nevertheless, something that she would want to be a part of. Anything to help the mutant cause along.
I think having the Order help a project of the X-men would create a lot of great discussion IC. On one hand, the project should be open to everyone, and since it's by nature a movement against discrimination it shoudn't discriminate against a mutant just because of their allegiance to a particular faction. On the other hand, can the X-men really trust that a member of the Order doesn't have an ulterior motive when they offer their help? And could the two groups really work side by side peacefully anyway? I think that it would be a ton of fun to see how that would play itself out IC.

I think that Meld may be in a relatively unique situation in comparison to some of the other Order members. Only a few months ago she was actually living in the Mansion, having left the Order for a period of time. If not for a small case of memory loss (and by small I mean most of the last 3 years of her life) she might still have been living in the Mansion. Although a known mutant terrorist, I think she's still on relatively friendly terms with those she knows at the Mansion.
In this sort of situation Meld woudln't necessarily be working on behalf of the Order anyway. While she'd probably obey Lori if Lori forbid her from assisting, if no order is forthcoming she is just as likely to go off on her own to assist with such a thing. The main concern would probably be the fact that although she would be very much willing to assist the mutant cause in non-violent ways she would not be willing to forgo assisting it in her usual violent ways. Thus, she'd be working on two fronts one of which the X Men are not exactly likely to approve of.

I also really like this idea--it gives opportunities for all different kinds of X-missions and I think it would show that the X-men do embody the ideals that they say they do. A very spiffy idea--I hope it gets played out on the boards as I'd want to be a part of it IC.
Second (third, fourth, whatever...) that! I like the idea. Would be tricky to get Muse involved, but Mirror would definitely want to be part of it Let's work on it

You your idea really makes a HUGE amount of sense. I love it. You're right, the X-men have always been the responders and most coverage of them would be seen as violent people (except for the fact that they have a school of those who are runaways or too dangerous, etc, etc), but this is a great idea. They need to be out there showing the world that they can be more than just costumed fighters. Excellent work Micah! You sure you don't really have marbles for a brain? Because that was genius, LoL.
HAHAHA! Sorry, I was imagining the X-Men asking Jorge to work an impromptu water park. HAH! Awesome.
