The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: Jorge does carry a few scars from his years of police work, including a gunshot scar on his left shoulder, a couple of old knife wounds on his chest and right side under his armpit, and a bite and claw mark on his left leg's calf muscle where a very angry cat attacked him for rescuing him from a tree.
Other features: A persistent stubble and simply refuses to be fully shaved away, always making him look gruff.
Everyday clothing style: For everyday use Jorge usually sticks with a casual looks that consists of dark blue and black jeans, and loose, comfortable t-shirts that are plain in design and color.
Uniform:
NYPD: For work as a police detective, Jorge will normally stay with dark colored suits that range from black, to dark blue and dark gray. All these are loose fitting, allowing him maximum mobility. Under his jacket he wears the standard issue kevlar vest and leather, over the shoulder gun holster.
X-Men: When on missions, Jorge does have a uniform. The uniform looks like this. It allows for easy movement as well as easy access to reform within when he goes water form. On top of that, he does wear a mask. But it is not really to hide his identity, merely because it is tradition.
Sleepwear: Tank top and boxer shorts.
Miscellaneous clothing: He keeps a silver crucifix his mother had given him when he first joined the Police Academy, with the word "protect" engraved in the back of it. Also a small silver earring in the shape of a dolphin is in his wallet from his first girlfriend, whom he had to abandon, from his days in California. One of his favorite things to wear his a brown leather jacket that he has had for years and refuses to replace.
Character Personality: Jorge is a hardened police detective with little to no interest in being played. He is always straight to the point and can be perceived as a little rude from time to time for doing such, but if he has a job to do, he will do what it takes to get done.
Hobbies/ Interests: Jorge's job is his life, though the activity within the mutant community leaves him caught between his need to uphold and follow the law and his want to learn more about his mutant heritage. As for hobbies one of the things he loves best to do, whenever he is not working, is cooking as well as reading novels. Some of his favorites include, "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky, "Jane Eyre" by Bronte, "Pride and Prejudice" by Austen, anything by H.G. Wells.
Job or part time job and description: Former Flordia Police Detective, new Transfer to New York Police Department
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Jorge fears working with a partner. He is constantly concerned that he will not be fast enough to help whatever partner he is assigned if things get rough, so if the option to work alone comes up, he takes it.
Special talents: Jorge is an excellent singer, cook, is skilled at marksmanship, and is bilingual.
Morality Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good-neutral. Jorge strives to uphold the law but even he knows that once in a while he has to bend the rules to catch the bad guy. Unfortunately this fact has left him just a little jaded and coarse around the edges. He wants to uphold justice, but at the same time, he knows that the justice system is not perfect. Still, he recognizes that with all its flaws, it is something he must have faith in.
Mutations
Mutation description: Water Manipulation - Jorge has the mutant ability of seizing and manipulating water. He cannot create water from his body, but instead he must find a nearby source to manipulate it from and bend it to his will. It does not matter what type of water it is, whether it be salt, fresh, or bottled, but the more diluted the water is with other chemicals, the harder it is for control. Also, for some reason his power does not extend beyond water's fluid form. He has no command over solid ice or water vapors, since to him, their molecules are too difficult to control.
Strengths: With water he has developed different ways to use it to his advantage:
Tidal Wall: By swirling the a thin layer of water around his body, Jorge makes an effective, swift moving shield that can protect him from most physical attacks. Unfortunately he is unable to stop projectiles all together but he can slow them down and veer them off course by inches due to the water pressure of the swirling liquid. Lastly, he cannot walk with the tidal shield flowing around him. It takes most of his concentration to keep the water spinning so he must remain still.
Water Jets: With a sizeable source of water nearby, Jorge does have the ability to project it out from it's source and aim it at a target. These water jets can be shot out at quick, breakneck speeds, enough to knock an opponent down, but he cannot keep up their speeds for more than a few minutes.
Floating Water Globes: With concentration, Jorge can manipulate a globe of water to float freely through the air. In doing this, he can submerge a person's head in a small sphere of continously swirling water to the point where they can pass out from lack of oxygen. Once a Jorge manages to get a Globe around a person's head, they being to drown and no matter how they try to escape, they cannot pry the water away. Their only chance would be to run and hopefully get out of Jorge's range, in which the water would simply dissipate and fall harmlessly to the ground.
Human Divining Rod: Due to his connection with water, Jorge has the abilty to sense water whenever it is twenty feet from him. Unfortunately this gift is not precise, so he will still have to look for the source, but it does give him an early warning system that lets him know he can use his abilities if need be.
Weaknesses:
Amount of Water: Jorge can only manipulate between five and ten gallons of water at one time. He can easily start manipulating five gallons of water without any sideeffects and from there he can gradually move up to ten, the threshold point at when he finds it harder to concentrate. If he were to try and control any more than this, he would be putting a massive strain on his head which would result in blurred vision, a migraine and shaky muscles. This will cause a large enough distraction to stop, causing him to lose control of the water, at which point it harmlessly falls to the ground, leaving him weakened and exhausted.
Distance: He must be within twenty feet of any water source in order to successfully manipulate it. If he is too far away, he will barely be able to churn it's surface, much less use it to any advantage. When it comes to his Water Jets or Floating Globes, Jorge can only push them to about twenty feet away before they begin to dissipate.
Duration: Jorge can manipulate water for a maximum of ten minutes, without a break, before it begins to have any adverse affects on him. After that, he begins to suffer from the "Thirst".
Thirst: Because of his abilities, every time he uses them, it actually pulls a little from the hydration in his own body. If Jorge were to manipulate water longer than what he knows is safe, he would begin to dehydrate down to dangerous levels which could force him to pass out.
Intense Cold/Intense Heat: Though ice and vapor should seem like easy things for Jorge to control, his powers have no affect on them. If any water source he attempts to manipulate is frozen solid or evaporated into mist, there is nothing Jorge can do to control them.
Power Growth: (5/27/2011) Shifting into Water Elemental Form Since the human body is comprised mainly of water, Jorge has the ability to break his body down into conscious, humanoid being made of water. This takes concentration on Jorge’s part but being in this form his body intimidating and seems to be unable to be harmed (obviously not true). The water form has a head, two dark shadows where his eyes shoulder be, a mouth (but cannot speak), and full upper body. From the waist down is just a swirling length of water connected to the rest. The water is constantly churning in this form causing small droplets to be fall but it always magnetically returns to the main body so he loses no part of himself.
Spy with the Water: Even though he is in a liquid state, Jorge is still conscious of his surroundings and he can hear and see to a certain degree. Though his hearing will be slightly muffled and his sight just a little disoriented because of the form. Pretty much it will be like looking or hearing something through water.
Bend with the Water: Since his body is comprised of water, Jorge is safer from most normal attacks. Bullets will simply fly threw him, knives with cut nothing, punches, etc., all of it will just momentarily displace the water, leaving him unharmed.
Flow with the Water: Also in this liquid state, Jorge can squeeze into tight entrances and reform himself on the other side, as well as hid in smaller cracks (but there does need to be enough room to hold his entire mass of water. He can’t hide his full self into something the depth and width of a penny.
Reach with the Water: Jorge can also now use his own body to produce many of the same maneuvers in which he uses water in his human form. He can throw out jets of water at high speeds, around 100psi of pressure. Enough to knock people back with the strength of a lower grade fire hose spray. These water can be pulled and return from his own water body. Also he can manipulate the water in his own body to spin at high speeds to deter projectiles off track.
One with the Water: Though most of Jorge’s attention is focused on keeping himself together, when actually standing inside of a larger body of water (i.e. a fountain, lake, ocean) Jorge can manipulate more of the water that is around him. Therefore most of ways in which he has learned to manipulate water become stronger.
Weaknesses:
Focus to Grasp: Because in this form his body is comprised of water Jorge cannot simply pick up or lift anything with his hands. Instead if he needs to focus on the surface tension of the water his body is comprised of. By making the water as tense and tightly compact as he can, he can lift and hold an object or person weighing up to 100 lbs. Above that, Jorge has difficulty keeping the tension strong enough to keep whatever he attempts to hold from slipping through his body.
Less Manipulation: While in water form, Jorge cannot manipulate other bodies of water from a distance, instead he needs to be standing in a body of water in order to manipulate all that is around him. He can sense bodies of water but he can do nothing to control them as he can when he is in human form. Instead he must physically be standing within the water.
Heat/Cold/Adapted Sensitivity: Also since his body will be made of water Jorge will be sensitive to extreme heat or cold. If he is frozen solid, he can do nothing to free himself until he thaws. If he comes in contact with a heat so high that he will evaporate him or is in the presence of an adapted, the shock of the situation with painfully shift him straight back into human form. Since his human body is being so quickly regained, Jorge will suffer a slight shock from the sudden transformation, enough to temporary make him lose complete focus of his surroundings.
Time Limit: Jorge can only hold his water form for maybe a full 30 minutes before his concentration begins to waiver. This will be followed by a blinding headache and pain which will force him into his human form and leave his disoriented and confused until he focuses himself again.
Water Mixed with Water: Jorge, while in water form, can enter other bodies of water, but he runs the risk of losing part of himself while in them. He has to hold his concentration as he moves through a large body of water, if not, he risks spreading himself out too far unable to pull himself back together.
Anyone Have Pants?: Unfortunately, Jorge at the moment can only shift his physical body into water. He cannot shift his clothes so each shift will require him to find some sort of clothing (or return to where his discarded clothes are) if he wants to remain decent.
Power Growth: (07/03/2012) Human Water Control: Place placing his hands or any part of his bare skin onto the bare skin of another human, Jorge will be able to gain control over the water in their bodies. By doing so he can pull water out of whatever person he is touching or he can manipulate their muscles and limbs to his will.
Strengths:
Sensing People – Because his ability has grown to him manipulating water in human beings, Jorge can now sense when people are around for about 20 feet around him. This makes it harder to really sneak up.
Dance Marionette! Dance! – When using his ability, Jorge gains control over a person’s voluntary motor functions. He can moves a person’s legs, arms, hands, feet, etc. He obviously, though, does not have control over their autonomous functions (breathing, heartbeat, etc.).
Dehydration Is Bad – Also while in contact with someone, Jorge can not only manipulate the water in their bodies but he can also pull the water out of them. When he does this, the water pours our of the victim's pores and turns into a sphere that hovers mere inches away and leaves their bodies dehydrated, but not to lethal levels. Instead he can only cause dehydration for about five minutes but it is enough time to riddle the victim with persistent cramps. This is a perfect tactic for interrogations or simply incapacitating an opponent. On top of this, Jorge returns the water to the person’s body as soon as he is done.
Weaknesses:
Skin-to-Skin Required – The only way that this ability can work is if Jorge is actually touching the person that he wants to affect. He cannot affect someone from afar and it has to be directly contact for him to control someone. If there is anything blocking the contact, such as clothing, paper, scales, etc., then he will not be able to take control of them.
Time Limit – Even with constant contact, Jorge does find this ability a little draining. Therefore he will only be able to control someone for about 30 minutes. Before he is forced to let go and regain his strength.
Draining – 30 minutes is the absolute maximum that he can control someone but from the beginning of the process, it is rather draining on Jorge. Manipulating the water inside of someone actually pulls water from his own body in the process and can leave him dehydrated. Thus, while he can gain control for up to 30 minutes, that is the absolute maximum before he passes out.
Strong Wills are Harder to Break – Someone trained in control of their own body (Yoga enthusiasts, athletes, etc.,) are harder to control since they have a great control of their own bodies. Jorge would require a lot of concentration to control them and can cut the maximum amount of time from 30 minutes to 15 minutes before he is forced to let go.
No Force Mind Tricks! – Jorge cannot affect a person’s brain or thoughts! He cannot make someone forget something or put thoughts in their head or anything along those lines while he is controlling them. They can still think, and talk if they like; it is only their limbs and muscles that Jorge gains control over.
Muddled Sense – Because he can now sense water in people, it does make his usual water senses a little muddled since he is picking up more sources of liquid. Therefore it requires a little more control and focus on his part to find whatever source he is looking for.
Power Growth: (04/22/2017) Water Golems Jorge has reached a point where his powers have begun to evolve in strange and wonderful ways. Whenever Jorge has manipulated water, it has always been an extension of him; now Jorge will be able to craft entities of fight for and defend him and, based about the amount of sentient energy he places in them, will be able to think somewhat on their own but never any sort of complex intelligence. Strengths:
Golem Classifications: Jorge can craft any kind of golem in any shape but their sizes and the amount of sentient energy attributed to them breaks them down into three classifications. The larger the golem is, the most sentient energy it requires, the more water it requires, and this lessens the amount of time that it is active:
Sprites: Sprite classification are the smallest of the watery golems that Jorge can create. They tend to be no bigger than large cat and have only the most basic intelligence that allows for movement and attacking. Spites will attack anything that comes within range (except Jorge), be they friends or foes. They are more used for a quick little army / distraction than anything else. Number he can create at once: 2, Maximum Time Limit: 1 hour
Naiads: Naiads class are the most humanoid looking of Jorge’s golems. From a distance or in a shadowy area they would simply appear as shapely wet woman or man, however upon closer look they would lack any fine characteristics, also they would be semi-transparent and made of water. Naiads golems have a slightly higher intelligence. They can spy for Jorge, remain in hiding, and/or be directed to attack only foes and protect others when instructed. However that is the limit of their intelligence. Number he can create at once: 1, Maximum Time Limit: 30 minutes
Krakens: The last category of golem that Jorge can create are called Krakens. These are massive, hulking beasts of water. They are the strongest of Jorge’s golems and have the highest level of intelligence he is able to give them. They are able t recognize friend from foe and follow more complex orders given by Jorge and are willing to sacrifice themselves for Jorge and those Jorge considers friends. Still, they do not have a human intelligence about them, just more able to make decisions if need be, no more than a loyal pet. Number he can create at once: 1, Maximum Time Limit: 15 minutes
[li]Extension of Sight: All Jorge’s golems are an extension of his mind. He can see what they see but that is it and how much he sees depends on their level of intelligence. Sprites are chaotic, switching from perspective to perspective so it is difficult for Jorge to truly witness anything, however Naiads and Krakens tend to allow him to grasp what they see better. .[/li] [/ul] Weaknesses:
Water Limitations: For as amazing as his abilities are, it all depends on how much water he has available to him. If Jorge only has a 10 oz. bottle of water with him, that is all he has to work with, he cannot create water from nothing. Therefore the more limited water he has access to, the less likely he can create something as big as a Naiad or a Kraken class golem.
Sentient Energy Split: Jorge can only create so many of the golems at once, and even then he can only create one type at a type. Each time he creates a golem, it saps some of his sentient energy because he is placing a piece of himself in them so that they can act on their own. There is a limit to how much sentience he can give them which is miniscule at best, however since he can only create one at a time, they only partially effect his mental capacities. Doing this with even one golem is draining towards him since he is sapping some of his own sentient energy. Creating just one golem will be comparable to a night of little sleep. It will leave him only momentarily unfocused while the golem is running about. However, the split works in reverse as well. After about 5 minutes the sentient energy Jorge gives the golems will start to decay and return to the source, Jorge. As he starts regaining his focus, the golems will start to lose their intelligence until it all returns to Jorge. At this point they will either fall apart or cease movement, waiting for his gestures to control them, depending on how long before they expire.
On the Clock: Water golems have a very strict time limit after their creation. The second that a golem reaches the maximum time, it simply falls apart into a puddle. Jorge will be able to manipulate the water again, but he won’t be able to craft the golems again. Each class of golem can only be created once each day as it is too draining to implant sentient energies into one all over again.
Frozen or Steamed: Should Jorge’s elementals become victims of temperature change (i.e. suddenly frozen or flash steamed) he loses control of them and the mental energy he placed into them painfully snaps back into his mind like a whip. Even if the elemental is melted down or reconstituted, Jorge loses all control over them and they simply fall over into a puddle of water.
Dehydration: As always, Jorge needs to be able to drink water when he uses his abilities too much. Though he doesn’t realize it, manipulating the element tends to pull a miniscule amount of water from his own body. If he uses these abilities a lot in a span of time, then he will suffer a rapid form of dehydration and must consume water or risk health effects.
What, Girl? Timmy Fell Down the Well?! So the golem have a hard time communicating. While they have some sentience, they do not really have the ability to speak. They can only gurgle, bubble, and make gestures (or in the case of the chaotic Sprites, lewd gestures). Their communication is rough but Jorge seemingly understands them. Anyone else would have no idea what they are saying unless it’s the Sprites giving the middle finger…which they do often.
Extension of Sight: Looking through the eyes of another individual is a difficult and often confusing process. To see that many things at once can be difficult for the mind to grasp. Therefore, after Jorge sends off one of his golems to spy for him, he needs to close his eyes and place sound dampeners in his ears. This will allow him to momentarily witness whatever his golems are witnessing but it can only be done for a few seconds, 30 seconds to be exact, before Jorge as he pull back and remove his senses from the golem. Any longer than that can lead to a massive migraine, maybe even a stroke if he tries to persist for too long.
Fighting Style Explanation: Boxing and Grappling
Pros for fighting style: Jorge can defend himself if need be and knows how to subdue an opponent.
Cons for fighting style: Grappling can be dangerous against someone who is just physically stronger than him and thus can put Jorge into a great deal of harm.
Weapon: Police issue Glock 9mm handgun
Faction Allegiance NYPD and X-Men
History Of Your Character Jorge used to be an average boy, living in Long Beach, CA, when a strange event changed his life forever. When he was 15, he was hanging out at the beach with his girlfriend whom he was deeply in love with, and at some ill advice from his friends, they all went swimming a little too far off from shore when she was pulled under thanks to a riptide. Panic stricken, Jorge tried desperately to get her back when, with a sudden thrust of his hands, he managed to repel the water away from him. Over and over he did this, until a miracle beheld the eyes of all the beach goers. Standing on the still moist, sandy ground, stood Jorge as he held his drowned girlfriend, with the ocean parted on both sides of him and a massive migraine erupting deep inside his head. He struggled up to the shore before finally collapsing, blood rushing down his nose from the massive amount of effort he put into repelling the water.
Jorge spend a month in the hospital in a coma from the tremendous strain he suffered. But it wasn’t long before news got out about this holy miracle, this child of God who had been nicknamed “Moses Incarnate”. Jorge found himself the center of attention, receiving all manner of messages ranging from prayers and blessings to death threats against him and his family. After he finally awoke from his coma, Jorge was gently nursed back to health, but not without hearing from his family about all the people who said he was a mircale child from God, and those that said he was the spawn of the devil. It was this attention that forced him and his family to leave California all together and attempt to forget the incident that had occurred. His family, deeply religious and fearing for their lives, fled to Florida and it is there that Jorge grew up, never once able to use his powers again. Days, months, then years passed by and "miracles" never happened again. Soon it became a joke around the family gatherings, that maybe he never did move the water, just maybe it was the tide going out or a trick of the eye! But Jorge knew the truth, secretly the power had never left him, it was only weak. It took most of his concentration to manipulate the water in a glass but through gradual practice, Jorge learned to gain a better control over it, though this was his secret he kept from the family.
Then, in 2007 the Mutant Registration act passed and all mutants had to official sign up their powers. Jorge, now with a good job, did not want to risk all this so he remained in hiding, keeping his powers a secret. He never practiced them in public and rarely did so in his own home. He had heard about the Internment Camps, the Bloody Breakout of 2008, and this did scare him. He could not risk being removed from his family. But a breath of relief was sighed when the Mutant Registration laws were overturned and Jorge did not have to live in fear of government harassment, just general human bigotry.
Now, seeking to do the most good where it is required, Jorge Cervantes has taken a transfer to New York City, where he hopes that he will be able to use his powers to help fight back against the out numbered police force.
[Updated: 1/25/2017] Jorge's time In New York proved to be a veritable cornucopia of changes for him; the best being his meeting of a lovely woman by the name of Gemma Taylor. A counselor for the Xavier Institute, Jorge and Gemma dated for a number of years before the pair of them finally got engaged. During this time, Jorge worked as a detective for the Mutant Related Crimes unit of the New York Police Department. It was a hard job, full of danger, but one that he loved every second of it. He even found himself as a liaison between the NYPD and the X-Men.
However, Jorge's time would soon hit a massive roadblock. In the year of 2012, after four months being deep undercover, Jorge found himself in a situation that would have been his most dire. Uncovered and to be executed, Jorge was shot and fell back into the ocean depths. It would have been his tomb if he had now allowed himself to shift fully into water with hopes of healing his injuries. However, being in the middle of the ocean, Jorge was split apart his essentially agonizing spread out over miles and miles and miles. Surely it would have been his end if not for his extreme willpower.
Three years of drifting and, finally, Jorge managed to pull himself together enough to temporarily become solid and find himself on dry land. However, after spending so much time in a liquid state, the confused and exhausted detective found himself unable to hold his solid form for long. Thankfully people at the hospital were more than willing to aid him.
For the last year, Jorge Cervantes has been in a New York hospital, undergoing a type of physical therapy to help him regain a mastery of his abilities. For the most part he is doing well but there are still times where he can miscalculate his abilities. He is one of the more powerful mutants in the world, controlling one of the most abundant elements. However, his discipline and focus has allowed the detective to slowly make his recovering. Now he is ready to resume his position on the police force, though of course he must continue with his therapy treatments until it is proven he has complete control again.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Search on Bing Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who:Agnes Nicholas & Booker B. Bookman Sample RP: The charged footfalls of Jorge Cervantes echoed in the stagnant scented alley, as his heart pounded inside his chest. His breathing grew harsher, but the adrenaline that pumped in his veins kept him going as he followed the echoes of another person’s running footsteps. The sound soon stopped and Jorge skidded to a stop against the slimy brick wall. The smell of the decayed posters and spoiled food assaulted his nostrils but he didn’t waiver. Instead, Jorge crept up to the corner of the wall and peeked.
The rest of the alley led to a dead end...and that was where he saw him. A small, rag dressed homeless man faced towards the wall and was hunched over. His long, greasy white hair could be seen from Jorge's vantage point and hung like limp pasta around his broad shoulders. The rags he wore were obviously very old and were split at their seams, exposing only more ragged clothes underneath.
Any other person would’ve simply passed this man with no notice. They didn't want to see this part of humanity; this side of civilization where those who couldn't make it socially or financially had to resort to living in streets and eating from dumpsters. But Jorge knew better. He knew that this old man was more than he seemed: he was a true monster.
Four months ago, Jorge was handed this assignment, to track and bring in Bruce Bale. A former war survivor and religious fanatic, Bruce disappeared off the radar after he returned home to an empty life as a broken man. With his wife gone with the kids, through divorce, blinded in combat, and family all passed away, Bruce had nowhere to turn but the streets. It was then that several strange murders started to pop up. Hookers, other homeless, gang members, a total of ten victims had been found, lying in alleyways with their throats ripped out by sharp teeth and a cross of blood drawn upon their foreheads. The newspapers got a hold of the story, calling them the Preacher Murders, but few people really cared. They figured it was the work of a strange vigilante, weeding out the streets of the undesirables...that is until honored officer Gabrielle Freeman was found dead, murdered in the same manner.
"Ugh..."
Jorge suddenly bolted up. “That sounded like a whimper. Oh my god, he hasn't killed her yet.” He peeked around the corner again and saw the old man was now turned slightly towards him with what appeared to be a rather large bundle in his arms. He looked close and realized that what Bruce held was actually a young child, a small girl with scratches down the length of her neck. He then erupted from around the corner, pulled his pistol from its holster and held up, aimed directly between the fiend's eyes. "Put her down Bruce!"
Jorge's proclamation startled Bruce so much he dropped the girl in his arms, which caused her to quickly scamper away to the edge of the wall. Jorge started to advance, gun held high and aimed at his target. Bruce crouched low, baring his teeth. Several rows of sharpened, needlelike teeth glistened in the dying light of the overhead lightbulb. He started to circle towards the small girl, but Jorge was quick to unload a round into the concrete between them, which made both the girl and Bruce jump back.
"Bruce, it's time you came with me," Jorge said as he came to a stop in front of the girl. "You're not going to get her."
Bruce let out a terrible screech as he edged closer to a heavy door. "You get away from her! Who are you?"
"I'm the one bringing you in. You've killed a lot of people Bruce. It's time to stop."
"They were sinners!" Bruce screeched again and held onto the door handle. "Whores, degenerates and killers! They deserved to die! I was doing God's work!"
"Just like Officer Freeman? A decorated police officer?" Jorge knelt down and checked to make sure the little girl was okay, why did she look familiar?
"Get away from her!!!" Bruce suddenly lunged and screeched so loud and sharp that Jorge almost felt deafened. But this wasn't Jorge's first time doing this. With a quick turn, he managed to bring up his leg and kick his attacker across the chin and sending him flying back into the wall. Jorge then leapt onto his feet but heard the door that Bruce felt out earlier.
Damn it! Moves fast for a blind man. He burst through the door and found his senses assaulted even harsher than from in the alley. The dim flicker of the overhead fluorescent lights showed him to be in a restroom of sorts, one that had not been cleaned in weeks it seemed. The stinking odor of urine and other just as disgusting materials penetrated all of his senses, but Jorge made himself focus. Gun held high, he proceeded into the unusually large restroom and checked all his blind spots.
"Bruce! You need to give yourself up! Don't think I won't shoot to kill," Jorge bluffed. His top priority was to incapacitate Bruce, not kill him. The police wanted him alive.
SCREEEECH!!!
Jorge couldn't pinpoint the source of that sound, but he knew what it was. When Bruce was diagnosed as being a mutant, among the listed with sharp teeth and heightened agility, was echolocation, similar to a bat, pretty useful for a blind man. That was why Bruce kept screeching in the alley, he had mapped out the area and Jorge’s location. And he was doing the same here.
"I take it that you're just now realizing you're trapped in here," Jorge called out. "Make this easy on yourself. Don't make me-"
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!
The bathroom stall nearly shattered as Bruce lunged through the door and slammed hard into Jorge. All his breath knocked out of him, he dropped his gun and soon found himself being lifted up by the throat. Bruce snarled and pulled Jorge close, "Kill you!" he growled and bared his fangs.
A sudden turn and Bruce hurled Jorge through another bathroom stall where he crashed hard against a stained, porcelain toilet bowl. The smell of the recently used toilet quickly brought Jorge back to his senses and he struggled to sit up. He started to pull himself back towards the wall when Bruce suddenly appeared at the opening and looking down at him menacingly.
"You are a sinner!"
"No," Jorge said as he glanced to the side, "I’m a mutant, just like you."
The motion was quick as Jorge thrust out his hand. In a burst, all the fluids in the toilet suddenly shot forward and swirled and sloshed around Bruce’s head in a sphere of water and urine. Bruce’s voice was muffled as the fluids swirled unendingly around and around his face. It poured down into his razor sharp mouth and inside his nose and even inside of his ears. Jorge struggled to stand as he still held up his hand, manipulating the liquids to still encompass the panic-stricken Bruce who thrashed from side to side while the disgusting concoction refused to leave his head.
Soon Bruce fell to his knees and it was then that Jorge finally lowered his hand, which caused all the water to drop in a shower around Bruce’s head and shoulders. He retched as he collapsed onto his hands and knees, vomiting hard, over and over again to the point that he passed out on the stained tiled floor.
Jorge breathed hard as he leaned back against the wall and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. "Hello? Yeah, George, I know I shouldn’t have left alone. Yeah, yeah, whatever. Tell the chief I you can come up and get the Bat-Man. And..." Jorge sniffed and covered his nose as he walked out of the bathroom, "bring some disinfectant."
"Mister?"
Jorge looked down to see the little girl was still in the alley. She stood and looked at him intently. "Is grandpa okay?"
He paused and thought back to Bruce Bale's file...he then shook his head. "I'm sorry kid." He held out his hand. "Come on, I'm a detective. I'll take you home. I bet your mommy's really worried."

A police officer, and no interest in being played... Hmm. I think I should have a crack at him, it is always fun to mess with those who truly dislike it. Welcome to MRO!
Yay! A water bending cop! It would be interesting to see him in action, if he uses his mutation while on the job, especially when his opponent is a mutant as well. Welcome to MRO!
