The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This was definitely not Elizabeth's first choice in possessions, but when you're being held hostage by some crazy gunman, you can't exactly afford to be picky. The fly's fate is uncertain, but it was left stuck up that same gunman's nose, so it's probably not doing so well.

Elizabeth has possessed four separate crows before. Once was for practice. That time, she discovered that other mutants were sometimes capable of communicating with animals. She also discovered that highly intelligent animals were sometimes aware of her presence. The second time was when she accidentally jumped from a peregrine falcon into a crow while trying to take back the necklace that a bunch of crows had stolen from her. The third time happened in a possible future, the Age of Sebastian, when Liz's body and Nico died, leaving her to take a crow's form in order to survive. The fourth crow was possessed just for the heck of it in order to fly around New York.
Elizabeth possessed Mirror's dog, an Irish wolfhound puppy, in order to practice on a dog as well as to play with Angua. She also managed to feed the poor puppy on tons of unbaked bread dough.
Elizabeth only temporarily possessed this bird in order to track down and attack a group of thieving crows who'd stolen a necklace from her. It was in this body that she learn she could jump from animal to animal.
Rufus is a sweet German shepherd. He ran away from his former owners because they used to abuse him, but he's made a nice living for himself out of the streets. He has three separate children leaving food and water out for him, and an elderly couple made him a place to sleep under their porch. Oh, and Liz takes care of him whenever he comes around because they always have fun together. In fact, Liz has possessed Rufus twice and each time has been a blast.
Technically, Liz has never possessed Nico. The only time she has done so is in the possible future, the Age of Sebastian, which she doesn't remember much of, except tormented nightmares of crows, ravens, and a demonic dinosaur-like creature. Nico died in that future, a combination of malnutrition, exhaustion, and radiation poisoning.
