The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Let's see if she gets out of her room first, then. If she does, we'll sneak off."
He thought for a minute, "Do you think we should ask him for help? I mean, if we're going to have psycho military people around, maybe having him stopping by won't be a bad thing. Lesser of two evils and all."

Kage you mean?
Daria thought about it and poured herself a glass of milk.
He would definitely be an asset. But his..rage..seems like it would be hazardous or very risky to trigger it in any way. Like, I kinda don't want to encourage him to fight. You know how everyone has a good side and a bad side? If both sides are neutral then its all good but if one is stronger than the other you either hate fighting or you love it. Kage seems to be the latter.
"Good call. I guess we're on our own with this, then." He sighed, looking back at the kids. "Don't leave your stuff on the table, Jimmy, clean it up," he chided as the boy tried to sneak off out of the room after finishing.

Not completely on our own, Mike. I told you I might be able to get us help with this once I meet that assassin and talk to Tricity about what she knows on the General. And you made that phonecall...
"Alright, you guys, get to your jobs. Table clearing, dish washing, drying, storing...you know the drill"
Davon had been quiet while he finished eating. Pondering what was said, and trying to figure out what to do. He said thank you to a boy who took his bowl and strightened up a little.
"Even if I get permission, it's not like I can raise the tuition. You did sy it was a school, and I know that places like this cost money."
His face was scrunched s he ws thinking about things, but his mind was unreadable... on the surface was Daft Punk's 'Technologic' playing over and over. If it was heard at all, his mental voice was 'singing' with the lyrics... as well as a very cautious sense of optimism.

Daria shrugged. "You could raise the tuition by doing on campus jobs. It's no ordinary school. People like us have no where to go. There is always a will when there is a way." She turned towards the sink. "can someone get Danny off that stool? I don't want him to fall" she said referring to the young boy drying dishes. Too short to reach the sink, he was kneeling on a stool; she preferred he kneel on a chair.
She could sense Mike feeling over whelmed again and reached out with her mind Its all gonne be fine hunny.
He took off his sunglasses for the first time, squinting. He blinked a bit, and tried to open his eyes fully when he looked her in the eyes. He pointed at his eyes and said, "These aren't all that great in the daytime, plus... I have a tendancy to get sunburned."
"Well honestly that'd probably be a big help. Like you saw earlier, things here aren't always quiet." He sat back down next to Daria, looking across the table at Davon with a serious look on his face. "We're the lucky ones, really, old enough to take care of ourselves. Most of the other students, though..." Mike waved his arm around the room, indicating the other children, ranging anywhere from five to sixteen. "Hell, I hear that they've even had mutant babies left here before. Then we have jerk-offs like you saw earlier showing up, trying to 'manage' all the 'dangerous muties,' scaring the kids half to death."
Mike shrugged. "Can't say I don't sympathize with the man or the views, but he screws things up by taking them too far. We give the flatscans excuses, they walk all over us. One asshole justifies them, and they start sending giant flying robots after us."
