The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah, I've heard a lot of that too. 'Unnatural spirit, begone! The power of Christ compells you!' Bunch of idiots." Mike shook his head, remembering the scene from his first boarding school that he got kicked out of.

"Crazy Military man." Daria offered. "Apparently he's been here before. But this time Mike kicked his ass" she said the last part quietly so as not to let the other kids hear.
Mike smirked somewhat proudly as he caught that last part, but otherwise just kept eating his stew. Right now wasn't the time to discuss the morons with guns.
One of the younger students was staring at Davon's tail. Mike coughed once and gave him a stern look before speaking up. "You're going to need to talk to Ms. Tipper if you're looking to stay here... unfortunately, that's the woman you saw me carrying off to the infirmary, who's fast asleep right now. She'll probably be up and about later, though."

Daria nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, she's the headmistress. Usually she's here with the kids but..well under the circumstances." Daria stood to help clean up the mess made by one of the six year olds. "I'm sure if you talk to her she'll let you stick around though, since you helped out and all."
"Yeah, stay here. This is a school for mutants, which I assume you are, unless you have a portable flamethrower hidden in your mouth," Mike added with a slight smirk.
Mike shrugged. "The founder of this place is telepathic... he might have steered you in the right direction if you were on the road. Stranger things have happened, I suppose."

"I guess you have to get used to odd things happening. And on the bright side it could've been an evil mind controlling telepathic." Daria said pouring a new glass of juice for the child who spilled his first glass. "I mean, you might as well at least ask permission. Then even if you don't want to stay you can have a choice." She returned to her seat near her empty bowl and took a roll to chew on.

Daria looked around the room at the kids.
Well, I mean, Tricity isn't feeling well, She needs our help. If she's up and about, though, even if it's night, I'm still for sneaking out. She laughed mentally. I'm such a Cat burgular and I'm a night person anyways.
