The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Sergeant, would you please..." "On it." Lily smirked as she ran on, following the light of the jewels only she could sense. It was probably the adrenailne, but she was not afraid of her opponent. The thief might be invisible, but if that was her only mutation, Jewel was ready to take her. She had her weapons... Twenty feet. That was all she needed, and she could tell she was getting closer. Her fingers started tingling with the pull of her powers. Almost... "Get lost, b*tch!" the invisible woman yelled back at her, but her voice was not so convincing. She was running out of breath too. And with the shouting, she slowed down for a step, and that gave Jewel all the distance she needed. Extending her hands in the direction of the thief, Lily pulled on the jewels in the bag. One strong pull, and the invisible woman lost her balance, fighting with the straps of the bag. Jewel bit her lips as she focused on using her powers. Don't you dare drop that bag...

The sound of wind buffered the small holes he had by his ears making it easier to hear the going on of the whole scene. As soon as he was low enough Sam formed a slide of ice and rotated crunching his stomach muscles and extending the ones in his back. When he was upright his feet hit the slide of ice and he slid quickly down as the gunfire from the police started and stopped during this time no doubt eyeing Sam through the two small holes he had given them. The gunman’s head vanished and was just poking his way around the wall when he noticed what was coming right at him.
Quickly pulling his head back from behind the wall Sam dropped the temperature around him and activated his newest ability. Sensing the heat coming from the body of the gunman Sam continued to slide quickly down the slide. As he got closer and closer Sam focused a few feet inside the store and a pole of ice formed. It was sturdy enough for what he was about to do. See the problem with telekinetic was they could either push or pull, pulling was one thing but if you had intention to attack a telekinetic the push could be a problem. Now what Sam had planned was his push would hopefully pack more of a push than his.
Shooting into the store Sam grabbed for the pole made of ice and quickly swung on the ice he had created. Waiting for the right moment Sam let go of the pole and was thrown using his own momentum into the gunmen, however as he was inches from the man he felt a resistance that quickly faded when his foot landed into the gut of the gunman. Granted it wasn’t as powerful as he could have hoped but it seemed to get what he wanted to get done.
As he fell tot e ground Sam quickly lifted himself off the ground and got into a guard out of habit only to realize the man in front of him was not only a telekinetic but also knocked out. Looking at the wall where the gunman was hiding and where he was force up against the wall Sam eyed the circular bubble like shape that formed. He smirked slightly and leaned back outside and snapped his fingers forcing the ice wall to slowly dissolve then shatter into little bits of harmless icefall.
Waving them in Sam leaned over and deactivated all aspects of his mutation, his heat sense faded, his ice armor fell and the temperature quickly began to rise. He leaned over and checked for a pulse then removed the gunman’s hand from the gun making sure not to touch the gun so his prints wouldn’t be on the gun. ”Hope they have insane gunman insurance…” Sam said with a smirk to the other officers who let out a small laugh before they took the gun and then cuffed the gunman. ”Now all we have to do is wait for the Sergeant and Jewel…”
There were long minutes of silence on the radio, before Jewel's voice reached Sam again. "Steel? We've got the lady, I hope you have the matching pair." there was a certain cheerful triumph in her voice. Anyone would have sounded the same after their first successful police action. "It cost us a few pretty pieces of the jewelry she stole, but I can make new ones if they need me to. Anyway, Sergeant got a car, and we are on our way." Jewel and the Sergeant arrived about fifteen minutes later, in a car that's backseat was apparently empty. Lily got out and walked over to Sam to report. "It might not look like it but she is there. She is just either too stubborn, or permanently invisible. Too bad, I bet the handcuff I made her would look very pretty, with the gold and all." she smiled "Everything all right here?"

The telekinetic was cuffed and placed in the back of the police cruiser when his earpiece beeped and he heard Jewels voice. He smiled and looked to the other officers who gave him a questioning look, he nodded his head in their direction and responded to Jewel, ”Sounds good” Sam said as he looked over to the telekinetic who was now sedated so he wouldn’t be much of a problem.
They waited for their fellow officers and when Sam saw Jewel so lit up he smirked slightly, ”Productive day?” he asked in a mildly teasing tone as he walked over to the car she and the sergeant had exited from activating his mutation he lowered the temperature and the frame of a female lit up before him. It was odd seeing the body heat from the woman and at the same time not see her actual body in front of her. ”She’ll revert back soon I believe, if not the police will have to invest in some infrared technology, he body heat is visible.”
Looking over to Jewel he nodded his head some more, ”I’m sure they would have been beautiful,” Sam said with a small laugh as he looked to the Sergeant then back to Jewel, ”Well now that you made your first official take down think it’s time we move on to a little more fun!” Sam said looking to the Sergeant who in turn started to laugh knowing where this was going. ”Paperwork!”
”Productive day?” Lily grinned at Sam as she formed the silver around her wrists back into its original bracelet form. "Good to be alive." She glanced at the policemen who seemed to handle the invisible criminal just fine. "Let me know if they need the handcuffs taken off. It would be a shame if all those materials went to waste..." she chuckled, turning back to Sam just in time to hear about paperwork. "Suuure, let's do it." she nodded; she didn't really mind paperwork. She had a feeling that after the first few cases she would, but right now, it was part of the process. She would have to learn how to do it sooner or later anyway. So this is how being an X-man feels like.
