The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Oh, eh don't worry about it... Hey look, the foods here!" Saph was already finishing his salad by the time the food arrived. He politely wiped his lip, and was already cutting into the steak when Andrea asked the question. He blinked a few times, and then smiled. "Oh, no... That's a serving. You see they bring you many small places as opposed to one big one; trust me, though, you'll be full by the time dinner's over." And he was pretty sure with the double order that shed have some left over to spare; lunch for tomorrow.
He smiled a little and took his first bite of steak... perfect. While he wouldn't pay for it usually, it was certainly worth it's price. He figured he might as well enjoy it while it was free, right? He took another bite, all the while keeping the image of manners that was taught to him when he was young in his head; he wouldn't want to disgust the nice young woman before him with bad manners... The older mutant looked up to see how she was doing; he was going for the slow and steady wins the race take on this food contest, so he had time to look around.
Small plates? The Gorgon blinked down at the tiny portion of steak on her plate, and prodded at it with her fork. Was he serious?... It was like an sample... Her eyes lifted briefly, watching as he delicately sliced apart his meal, and took dainty bites. Her gaze dropped back down to the round bite of steak in front of her. With a shrug, she impaled the whole thing on her fork and plopped it into her mouth, followed quickly by the other things that had come along with it.
It wasn't even big enough to puff her cheeks out! And she had plenty of room still left to chew... She was highly disappointed. While she gnawed away, completely oblivious as to how her action might have affected Saph, she had to admit that it was a rather well cooked bite of food... Very flavorful. Maybe a little to salty.
After finishing the bite and swallowing, she glanced back down at her plate. They had put a little leaf of lettuce or something under the food. Without much of a second thought, she speared it with her fork as well, plopped it in her mouth, and chewed. Once she was finished with that, she set her fork down quietly, dabbed at the corners of her mouth, and folded her hands in her lap as she focused again on Saph.
Saph's mouth hung open in shock, a tasty piece of lobster still hanging at the tip of his fork, waiting to grace his shiny white choppers. It would have to wait, though. Saph was bewildered. Blown away. Stunned. How could such a polite, dainty, shy woman eat like that?! He was a freakin hobo and he had more manners in his left pinky, which was slightly raised, as was polite.
"w-wow.... Um... " He looked to the right so see an elderly high-class couple staring with wide eyes, and then turned back slowly, looking to her. "Uh... You aren't supposed to... You know what? Screw it." He stabbed the steak with his fork and shoved it in his mouth, doing his best to chew it with his much smaller mouth. He looked over to the elderly couple, and winked, doing his best to choke the food down. This was a competition, and by bogs he was gonna win it! He attacked his lobster in a similar fashion, and the old woman fainted.
It wasn't long before they called the manager, and a very short man with a small mustache came up to politely ask them to leave. Saph slammed his coupon down on the table, ginning widely. "C'mon Andrea, we'll just have to continue this contest later! off to the mall!" He felt great... Why should he worry about some past memory of properness? This was now!
Just as Saph seemed to be getting into the swing of things, she head someone moan off to the side and turned just in time to see an elderly woman fall face forward into her Alfredo and lobster pasta. "Oh my! Is she alright?" She stood, tossing her napkin to the floor, before a short stocky fellow approached. She turned her attention back to Saph, as he stood too and left the coupon on the table. "wha- but- what about-" She was ushered out with the older man, and sooner than she had expected they were out on the sidewalk again. Thoroughly confused, she laid a palm over her grumbling stomach, and turned a frown Saphs way. "I do not understand... what just happened? You have got a little lobster on your chin..."
Not only was she more than a little disappointed that the dinner had been cut short(mostly because she had been rather eager to eat as much as humanly possible), but now she felt like it was once again her fault. She recalled asking about it earlier, and her frown deepened. "Was this because... of me?" Dipping her chin, she turned and started down the sidewalk, she didn't know where the mall he mentioned was, but there was no sense in standing in front of the restaurant anymore. Walking would help to fight off the empty feeling in her tummy anyway... "Well... um... now what? I do not know where the Mall is..."
"Don't worry about it, she'll be fine, shes just being rich."
Saph had a smile on his face as the exited the High-class restaurant against their will. He looked over to his green skinned companion and saw that she was upset, he immediately got the urge to hug her, but figured it might freak her out a little; she seemed timid. He instead went with a shoulder pat. "Well, you see, people like that generally eat very politely. Small bites, measured chews, dainty actions, all that mess. You, on the other hand... you got yourself quite an impressively large mouth... Listen up, though... I don't want you to feel bad about what happened in there, you know why? It was fun." He reached up to wipe the lobster from his chin, and laughed a little. "It was the first time in a long time, eating in a high-class joint like that... And I got to flip an old, uncomfortable memory to the curb because of it!" He paused, turning to her, and putting a hand on each of her shoulders, looking her right in the eyes with his own smiling optical inputs, and spoke with that same smile in his voice. "Thank you." He then turned and started walking, waving her along.
"The mall's right across the street, I saw it on the way here... You ready to do some all-out shopping, and then beat the crap outa the food court?"
Her cheeks darkened quickly, and she brought a hand to her lips. Her mouth wasn't that big... was it? Her nose wrinkled, and Saph's hand fell on her shoulder, and the blush intensified. He was talking, and she kind of understood what he was saying- but his hand was on her shoulder... Then, she was facing him, with both his hands on her shoulders. Every romance novel and chick flick she had ever seen flashed through her mind, and she let out a little squeak of a sound. He was looking at her... like, right through her, her eyes widened. "thank you..." He said, and she felt her heart flutter a little. Her eyes slipped shut, like she had seen read many times, her lips parted ever so slightly and-
... He let go and turned away, marching off down the sidewalk with the declaration of shopping and more food. The Greek stumbled forward and blinked, then slapped some sense into herself. What was she thinking?! She had just assumed the classic 'waiting to be kissed' pose. Andrea scrambled to catch up with him, and by the time she did he was already halfway across the street. "You... are welcome?" Scratching at the back of her head, she watched as the scenery changed from outside to inside. Just inside the doorway, she had to latch onto Saphs sleeve lest she get lost while looking around. "I have never been in a building this size before..." She muttered. "Oh... is that a third floor?!" Her eyes drew back to him, and she tilted her head, "...And what stores are we going to?"
The giant form of the mall loomed over head as the wandered through the front entrance. To Saphirus, who had lived in new york all of his life, structures like were considered to be every day appearances, but the look of awe on his companions face betrayed the obvious. Having been locked in her room all of her life, of course she'd never seen anything like this up close and personal. She commented on never being in a building this big, and he let out a humored chuckle. "This is nothing... I've been in fifty story sky scrapers before... all the way up to the top... I should take you to one some time."
He pushed open the door, holding it open for her to enter as well. He looked about at the shops as they entered, whistling lowly as he glanced around... boy, this place was pretty high-class... modern art was scattered about, and the stores all had a sophisticated air about them. Saph wondered for a moment if any of the shops would let them through the door... He paused as he saw a sign in the walkway that stated clearly. "Any money is good money; all are welcome." That brought a smile to his face; even if it was practicing equality just for monetary gain, it was still practicing equality.
He took a few more steps forward, and then turned to his green comrade in shopping. "So? Where to? You wanna go to a store, or do you wanna hit up the food court first?"
"Fifty stories? Oh heavens no! I would faint dead away on the tenth floor up..."
She blinked again, knowing full well that she was not a fan of heights without even having to step foot in one of those buildings. Shaking herself of the very thought, she followed along quickly, matching her small strides to Saph's. The door was held open, she was not as surprised this time- but thankful all the same as she shuffled through.
His questioned caused her to pause, and consider the options. She had never been to this mall, so the stores held a good deal of potential excitement. On the other hand, nor had she ever eaten at one of the restaurants with in the vast building.... "I suppose I can make it through a few stores before I get hungry again." or started to gnaw on support beams... "Do you think they have any places-" She paused, mid question, and blinked at a pair of shoes displayed in a window to her right. They had to be at least seven inch heels. Impossibly high! Doubts as to whether or not she would be able to find suitable clothing in the mall sprang to mind, and she gulped, then finished her question.
