The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sunlight streamed through the windows, kissing the rectangular ivory pedestal where it stood in the center of the room that was the heart of the school. The earliest morning beams of light tickled the white surface, delighting it how it shone on this glorious late spring day; someone had carefully polished it and removed the extraneous magnetic decorations and the all important slips they had once adhered to the pedestal's face. All, save one. A brand new piece of white paper, carefully printed and hanging perfectly square was now the only thing adorning the pristine face of that most noble appliance; the refrigerator.
The paper, glorious in its simplicity, was placed in the one spot where everyone was sure to see it and appreciate the brilliant plan that it advertised. Then, once they read those strategically place words, and began to comprehend how truly epic they were, the readers would sign up to participate; it was not merely a possibility, it was a certainty.
1) Bring your own pokémon. Use your mutations to come up with the winning trainer/ pokémon team. 2) Your pokémon must be well enough trained that its attacks will not accidentally destroy the mansion. 3) Battle for the crown! The battle champion will be determined by a single elimination tournament. 4) Pokémon (and their attacks) will be judged on appearance as well. 5) Treat all tournament participants with respect (or else). Only pokémon are allowed to battle, and only in officially assigned matches.
Note: A pokémon center will be available for all pokémon who need healing after a tough battle.
The tournament's first combatant came as no surprise to any who had seen the refrigerator get cleared off, or the flier posted. At the blonde teen's feet, a red fox kit played with a magnet: it tumbled and leapt, paw swatted and fell over, in a clear display of agility training.
Saph eyed the piece of paper for an hour. It was a tournament... About that kid's show with the games and such... Was that something about a crown?! You got a freakin crown if you won?!
He looked left and right slowly, and then darted out of the room.
Hours later he returned with a grin on his face; He had watched a DVD one of the students left out about an insanely powerful pokeeman, and he had the resources to get it done! He grinned; he didn't even have to watch the whole episode; the character in the show had been talking about how excellent the pokeeman was, so he knew it would win this thing for sure! He could get this crown they spoke of, and sell it!
He let out a cackle; this would be like taking candy from a baby!

As he walked away, he wondered silently if the crown was the metaphorical sort... Nah.
Juka loved Pokemon and new for a fact that he could be the bestest Pokemon trainer ever! Those were his first thoughts upon seeing the poster advertising the upcoming Pokemon tournament. Surely he had the advantage since he even had his two Pokemon kitties Jolteon and Ninetails. Yes, that was one competition that he could surely win.
Half an hour later, however, Juka still hadn't signed his name on the dotted line. The problem was, of course, that he simply could not submit his precious furry kitties to the brutalities of a Pokemon battle. No, alas, his kitties were simply not fit for battling, they were fit for beauty contests. And so he had to come up with another pokemon to enter.
Another half an hour passed before his grand moment of inspiration and finally he wrote his name and the name of his Pokemon and walked away, quite satisfied with his decision.

And they only had a small handful of people signed up. Obviously they had not advertised well enough the first time.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. Also, abusing the library's color printer.
Katrina wandered the mansion with a scotch tape despencer, a stack of freshly personalized fliers, and possibly the entire contents of the bulbapedia printed in full color.
Katrina's first stop after the library and the office supply cupboard was Sam's bedroom. She still had a key from when was helping to keep an eye on all the mansion's pets, including Bruno and Cammie who lived here. The tabby queen lifted her head and watched as Katrina crossed the room to Sam's bed.
“I hope you don't mind if I decorate a little,” the illusionist intoned as she rubbed the cat in the magical spot under her ear. The purring seemed to indicate that a few fliers would be alright.
Katrina plopped a packet of information down on her self defense teacher's pillow. A picture of an ice bird was attached to his alarm clock with a small piece of tape, and another was added to the outside of his door. As a final touch, Katrina folded an ice blue piece of paper she had found in the library recycling can; a paper crane. It was a symbol of drawing people peacefully together, no matter where they were from. On it's tail, she wrote in small letters, “<3 from Kat.”
With another scritch to Cammie's ears, Katrina was off to another doorway with her tape and her posters.

He'd found it on the fridge. It had just been hanging there, chilling. After all that had happened recently, it was nice to know some people could still relax. The thought that the X-men were working with the police was a little more than unsettling to Shin. For various reasons, he couldn't wrap his mind around it as a good idea. The X-men were supposed to help the world. Helping the world didn't equate to quashing crime, when the crimes were things average police could handle. Mutant threats, he could understand, but mutant threats, the X-men could resolve without needing to learn to use firearms... or going through police training, or any of that. It was confusing. It made his mind hurt. He didn't like the thought of using guns. It was probably a good thing he found the little sign-up sheet hanging. The little guy needed his signature. Shin needed something friendly to get his mind off the hard things.
Shin pulled a pen out of his pocket, and wrote his name down on the sign-up sheet. Next to it, he scrawled 'Porygon'. What better Pokemon was there for making from shards?
A smile tugged at Shin's lips.
Maybe, he could talk Kealey into helping him with this. It sounded like a fun training application. Maybe, she could help him with the clothing aspect of it? Trainers weren't trainers if they walked around in street clothes and trainers. You needed something defining. Hikers wore hiking boots, and Lasses wore schoolgirl outfits, after all. And Nurse Joy wore a nurse's costume.
Hey. Maybe Kealey could wear a costume? The thought struck him. Shin instantly shook it out.
Bad Shin. Bad. Bad.
None of that.
This was Pokemon. Costumes were only for Trainers. She had to earn it.
Kai lounged in the front entrance of the mansion, waiting for Cameron. He was always waiting. While he waited he perused the posters that were up. One in particular caught his eye.
"A Pokemon battle?" Insert flash back to middle school here. Kai immediately started scheming how he could make a plant move. It would have to have it's root system protected and intact... What about a ball of ferns? Or vines? Oooh. A woody vine would work well. It could be fun.
