The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The moment Sam left her shoulder, it dropped. It was almost like carrying a heavy box and dropping it, the sudden tendency to spring and catch the box before it hit the ground. Fade's shoulder dropped but her hand lurched, ready to catch him, but he wasn't headed for the ground. When her body had gotten used to the sudden change of pressure, she looked up to see him in the arms of Alex. Yeah, well if that wasn't a woman, she had no idea what it was. Sam is gay, was immediately crossed out in her mind now that she actually saw Alex and this odd so called "cheerleader". Of course, after the happy couple renunion had settled down, Sam turned back to his leadership self and made a gesture to the door. If he had said "someone go to the other side and unlock it," maybe Fade could help, but he said someone get rid of it, and that someone would probably be Streak. Fade really needed some more fighting lessons.
Then it happened, the moment of happiness, Streak said he couldn't do it! Sure, it was not that happy, it meant they couldn't get through, but it might be a shinning time for Fade to work her magic. "I'll see if it opens from the other side," she said, moving towards the door. She walked quickly, not slowing down at all as her face made impact with it and simply phased through. When she had pulled her remaining foot through, she turned to look at the door, it had a handle, but it had a keyhole and Fade did not have a key. Looking around for it, her eyes followed a trail of blood leading around the corner. A deep feeling in her stomach quickly shot to the ground and begged her not to follow that, she did not much want to see what happened to who ever's blood that was. Instead, she tried a little trick she learned when she lived on the streets.
Phasing her index finger claw into the keyhole, she began to turn it into a solid, but rather gently. She concentrated on everything around that claw, if it was a contraption or if it was just air and slowly, she shaped a key in her partially solid claw. It took her a few tries to get it and during those times, she jiggled the lock, but it wouldn't move. Finally, she heard the little click that the key had worked and she grabbed the door handle and pushed down. It worked! The door opened and she stood there with her finger still in the key hole, motioning for everyone to leave. "Got it," she said, pulling her partially phased claw from the door. It would only work with her claw, because it was strong enough to not break and it had no blood flow that would be cut off if she turned partially solid. Just in case, she kept that section of her claw solid if they were to run into another door with a lock.
Cheerleader. Lori shook her head at little Sammy. Little one-eyed Sammy. And his girlfriend the bloody wonder. She supposed that babysitting people was what she had signed up for when she came to rescue them all. "Why do I always run into you in the middle of a fight?" It was getting to be a very strange trend... seeing these happy mid-battle reunions.
>"Got it."
The red head at the door had been doing something. Lori was just making sure no one was falling over or passing out before blowing the door off it's hinges. There was nothing like getting shot at when your comrade was falling down on top of you.
"Neat trick." She moved her hands out and the resulting magnetic pulse sent the door crumpling backward into a wall. No splat. That was a shame, she was 2 for 3 for smashing people behind big metal doors, though. That wasn't too bad a percentage.
The door creeeeeeaked backward and moved as Lori moved until the corridor outside was closed on one end. "Let's keep them off our backs, shall we?" She made a few air traffic controller (or possibly cheerleader) moves with her arms to get them all to start moving. Those that needed a hand (and weren't too sweaty or bloody) got one. She wasn't heartless. Not toward her people. But she would keep them moving at a good clip. Her impromptu corridor plug wouldn't keep people off of their backs forever.
Not only Sam and Streak appeared from around the corner. Lily was there too, supporting Sam. And another girl too, one that Alexandra actually didn’t have any idea on who she was. Alexandra simply watched Sam walk and then run toward her but she simply stood there. She had no idea from where Sam was getting the energy to run. She, on the other hand, felt weak. The remaining bits of energy she had were used to keep the molecules of metal in control and the blood loss caused by the shot she had received before was starting to make her feel dizzy, dizzy.
Half a second before she was pulled into a hug, she considered telling Sam she was wounded. However, the thought came too late. She was pulled into the hug and squeezed. But the fact that she was in pain didn’t manage to cancel the fact that she was happy to see that Sam was fine. That Lily was fine. That Streak was fine. Which was why she probably didn’t push Sam away but instead let herself be squeezed and even managed to move her other hand and wrap it around Sam’s waist for a moment while she hid the wince of pain by burrowing her face in his shoulder. Hell, she even managed to nod in an assuring manner when she was asked if she was alright. But she didn’t speak, after all, it was a bit difficult to speak trough gritted teeth.
Her rescuer spoke, and recognition struck Sam as he called the blonde ‘cheerleader’ and even pulled her into a hug. If not for the pain, Alexandra might have wondered how exactly Sam, leader of the X-Men, hero extraordinaire was more than familiar with someone who had just smashed someone behind a metal door. But, right now, Alexandra decided to leave questions for later and actually focus on getting out and keeping up the ‘I’m alright’ mask. After all, Sam had gotten there supported by Lily and the other girl so the last thing they needed was worrying about her as well.
Alexandra’s focus was transferred to the door, glancing briefly at Sam when he looked at her for support. She sighed. Not long ago, a door like that would have been piece of cake to get rid off. Now, the medium sized ball of metal was absorbing energy out of her like a sponge. So she responded with an 'Sorry, can't help look'. At least the pain was fading away now and while watching the unknown redhead take care of the door, her own focus seemed to come back.
So by the time she was directed into a new corridor, Alexandra was already analyzing the whole situation, her main concern being not the temporary freedom offered to the mutants but a long term freedom. With no idea on where Slate was or if he was still alive to take care of the Registration Act, Alexandra needed another plan. One quickly formed, making her stop and turn toward the others. “Before leaving we need to retrieve the video footage from the camps.” She didn’t bother to explain why they needed to do it. Blackmail or the worst case, being released to the televisions, hoping that everyone would be revolted by seeing what actually happens in the camps, were the only possible uses that Alexandra could see and she was fairly certain that the others would see them and agree with her plan too. If not, oh well, she would do this alone. “Videos are stored in a room on the next floor.” She glanced around until her eyes finally stopped on the door that leaded to the stairs for a few seconds. Then, she looked back to see who would follow her there.

After a moment or to Jenny phased thorough the door and opened it, just as well he could have frozen the door and had Streak shatter it again, shrugging and guessing it was less of a mess to clean up he reached his arm around Jewel and leaned a portion of his weight onto her, he was still weak and from what he could tell she was as well, but she was still strong enough to support him. Looking to cheerleader he shrugged, ”Wrong place right time I guess?” Sam responded as she blew the door off the hinges and back into the wall. He blinked with his one eye and then remembered that she too was a mutant, having no idea how he could forget about the haywire incident he looked back to her and smiled.
It was a little dangerous to blow the doors off the hinges and possibly crushing people behind him but seeing as he hadn’t heard anything behind the door squish he didn’t pay it much mind, she was a good guy after all his hero, no way she would purposely hurt someone.
Everyone was in the new corridor ready to escape to freedom until Alex mentioned that they needed to obtain some videos from the surveillance cameras around the camps. He thought for a second then realized that she would use them to get the word out about the horrors of the camps. His good eye shifted to Alex who looked fixed on going herself, ”Streak, you and Jenny go with Alex to retrieve the footage…” Sam looked at the stairs for a second and then to Jewel and Cheerleader, she was someone he had no control over but he knew she couldn’t resist to help she was a hero right?
”Stairs aren’t my friend right now so, Jewel and I will make sure the exit is clear and safe once you guys make it back…” Guard the hallway was something even he could do in his weakened state all he really needed to do was erect a wall of ice and hold it long enough so everyone could make it out. Looking over to the Cheerleader he smiled, ”I can’t really tell you what to do but if you want to make a break for it now is your chance, or you can stick around and make sure we get those tapes and have a way out.” the choice was hers, Sam’s version of superwoman.
Lily got dizzy again as they started moving - and together with that, she was still in better shape than Sam. And since now she was the one supporting him, she took a deep breath, and did so. The blonde woman joined them and bought them some time. Which Alex planned to use for retrieving video footage. Lily didn't ask. She could think of a number of reasons why it was important, and she trusted her teammates. ”Stairs aren’t my friend right now so, Jewel and I will make sure the exit is clear and safe once you guys make it back…” Lily leaned against the wall, still supporting Sam, saving her strength. At least the others were strong enough to finish this mission. With a little help, she would be too. "We'll be out of here in to time." she muttered to Sam, eyes half closed as she scanned their surroundings for traces of metal. She could sense Streak moving not so far from them. She really hoped they had enough time.

It was really too bad that Sam didn't listen to advice to well, because if he did Streak would have told him to get out and wait for them to show up outside. It was just good that he knew saying anything was useless. He didn’t even need Sam to tell him to go with Alex, seeing as he was really the only one defending them at the moment. Streak wasn’t to confident in Sam’s ability to keep the way clear but then again he didn’t know how well he was holding up with this. Streak followed Alex down a different way and sheathed his sword, leaving only the hilt available to grab. In other words, Shawn retracted the blade into his hip and left the hilt on the hilt there. It was quicker to draw and left him able to get more things if he had a free hand.
Streak didn’t really need Sam to be telling him to go, he was going to go anyways. Although he wasn’t exactly sure about this blond girl that was there with them; for some reason or another he got a weird feeling about her. After Streak left to go with Alex he couldn’t help but wonder if she would leave and save herself or if she would harm his friends, or just chill waiting for Fade, Alex and him to return. As it had been for the entire rescue he was just following someone who knew the place better than he did, but of course he would help in anyway that Alex needed him to so that they could get out faster.
Sam gave out more orders, to which Fade just nodded her head as most of it went in one ear and out the other. It was a little odd how Sam was the one Streak, Jewel and Fade saved and yet he was also the one to give out orders. Very odd indeed. Still, he was sort of the leader of the X-Men, so she heard the part where he told her what to do and she followed it. Sure, she'd travel up the stairs to get the footage. Why she really needed to go was unknown, but maybe the doors were locked and she could just phase in, grab it and leave. Then again, she had no clue what the hell it would look like.
She followed Streak who followed Alex, giving a quick glance at the blonde. Who knew who she was? Apparently Sam did, what a flirt. She just wanted to see what the blonde was going to do, but she went ahead and looked away again, decided it didn't matter, the blonde was perfectly capable of fending for herself, it seemed. All those work outs in the Danger Room paid off with all the running around they had to do and Fade followed closely behind Streak. "I'm still here," she said, warning them before she turned invisible. Really, she was doing it in case some one attempted to sneak up on them, they would get a taste of their own medicine. Plus, it just made her feel more comfortable in a mission such as this.
