The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It wasn't until she rolled over that Streak realized that it was Lily that he had just protected. Sweet. Now he didn't have to go looking for her anymore. He noticed the silver moving to one of Lily's wrists. He didn't want to ask what had happened to all the silver that he'd given her earlier, but he had a feeling he knew what happened to it. Streak also knew that she was injured, so she wasn't going to be doing much fighting. "Sure thing." Streak said holding out his hand for her. He was holding it out to help her up, but also to giver her some silver.
Shawn smiled. That was something he hadn't done for a while. Ever since she was captured actually. He'd become so focused on finding her that everything else seemed to have gone by the wayside. Now that he'd found her he was elated and was going to do whatever it took for him to get her out. Streak wasn't going to forget about the rest of his team however, and finding them was going to be another challenge. "I'm so glad your ok! They didn't hurt you did they?" Streak asked. He could see the marks on her neck and knew the answer almost immediately, even if she didn't tell him the truth. Shawn let his sword drop to the ground so that he could get a better look at her.
Jewel looked much thinner than she did before she was thrown in there. But that was to be expected. He knew what went on in these camps. He'd been in one before. Anything goes, pretty much. Anything the guards wanted to do, they did... and no one was going to stop them. At least not until now. Now the guards that wanted to beat up Lily were lying on the ground. Some dead, some in pain. Sure they weren't supposed to kill, but lets face it... accidents were bound to happen in fights like these.
Lily took his hand, pulling herself up from the ground; she held her injured wrist close to her chest, the silver was holding it together, but it hurt like hell. "I'm so glad your ok! They didn't hurt you did they?" Do I look okay? "Of course they did" she frowned for a moment, looking down at the guards before she shook her head with a sigh "But I am alive, aren't I." Now was definitely not the time to talk about things. Or do silly stuff, like hug him. Damn she wanted to be close to him. She missed the warmth. Later. She held Shawn's hand for a few minutes, pulling silver off his skin, wrapping it around her uninjured left arm and up onto her chest. She didn't take as much as she usually did; making Shawn dizzy wouldn't do much good to either of them. Once she was finished, she let his hand go and nodded. "Let's go find the others." That's it, Lily. Keep it together.
Daylight approached, or what should have been daylight. With the jetlag that had never really settled down and all of the scouting she had done, time was seemingly abstract these days. After meeting up with Kasumi and Streak, it was finally time to enter the camps and start breaking everyone out. Supposedly, there were already mutants in the camps, breaking out their friends and companions. It was time to get a move on. Streak had already begun to make his way in and Fade was next, although she could just simply walk through the gate instead of any secret passages. When the camp was in her sight, she cracked her knuckles and turned invisible. The bandage Kasumi had made for her was holding up very well and she had not bled through, so she did not have to try extra hard to keep any of her blood invisible.
She walked up to the gate and phased through the fence, making her way over to one of the entrances to the underground. Little could be seen just yet, but she could hear it. One word to describe it: chaos. She could hear the sounds of people cursing and even some odd sounds, maybe some electricity, maybe some things crashing. From the sounds of it, the collars did not work right now. The humans were under the mutants' control. Back in the day, the first thought that would have crossed her mind was protect the humans and the mutants, but right now, she could only think of those two little girls. The ones that Gabriel abused. They would not be left in there alone.
She did not know where to start. The two girls could be any where. Maybe they were in a cell, like some of the mutants, maybe she could find them there. After travelling down the stairs, the elevators weren't working, she exited and found the chaos. Fights had broken out everywhere, mutants were using their powers, the collars could no longer stop them. She assessed the area and made her way over to what seemed to be the cells, everyone was going crazy. There was a massive battle out in the hallway. Lucky for Fade, she was still invisible.
Instead of phasing through everyone, she decided to climb the walls, just walk over them. She phased her claws into the wall and climbed up to the ceiling before scuttering into the first room. No one. It was empty, just open cells. The next room did not have the girl, but it had a screaming girl. She was going absolutely crazy in there and Fade turned visible to let her know that help was here. "You ok?" she asked, dropping to the ground. She looked around for some sort of keys and could not find it. A guard fell into the room for a moment as he pulled himself off the ground. There they were, the keys, well, one of the pairs, hooked onto his belt.
"Hang on one second, I'm coming back, I promise," she said before dipping out into the hallway. It was not hard to find the bald guard, but he was currently fighting with someone. Instead of bothering him, she just grabbed his keys and cut through his belt loop with her claws. He threw a punch, but it simply phased through her. In rage, he tried to follow her, but whoever he was fighting was very good at keeping him there. Fade rushed up to the cell and used all of the keys to try to open it. The first 8 or so did not work, but the ninth worked and she unlocked the door, hoping this girl was a good mutant and was not going to try anything mean or stupid. Just in case, she remained in a phased condition.

The secretive timemancer took all of the calm together, despite the calamity continuing around him, lurking in the shadows instead of running through the hallways, hiding himself still from sight of friend or foe. The knife in his hands, a still life, still death, extended, forwards, the only thing held between him and the shadows, its thin cutting edge used already, multiple uses, yet still not dulled. Guards became less and less, decreasing in number through fight or flight, the first of which he, with some appreciation of the inherent irony of fate, concluded would be over soon. The majority at least, for the screams in the part of the building he was in now were lessening, becoming few and far between. Yet he did not end his vigil, for now the dangerous phase began in which the guards in hiding might find the guts to start their own run for freedom. A bid and a bet. That stood against them. And a knife of course.
There was a rustling noise as something... it could really be only described as something... passed him by in a frenzy, having escaped from a room not far off to the right side of the hallway. It was almost dark as night, but his ears were working just fine. He could hear the noises of movement from the room. Only that hi ears could not identify, whether he would have to use the knife again, or he might just escape that by helping other people escape. He would not mind the former, but the latter... would somehow be pleasing after this night. After the last weeks. So the ancient one in young disguise continued, approached, what others had already deemed to be a shower. A broken shower.
He was on his way. Do do work. Cutting off loose branches. It was something he did every day.
Everyone was panicking. Shouting. Ghost's head was getting hazy, but she was strangely calm. She always suspected she would die of suffocation. Not this poison gas business. Certainly not of hunger or an infection or a wound across the belly.
Someone clawed at her arm and she pulled back suddenly. In fact, she pulled with enough force that when the resistance wasn't there from the clawing hand she sat down. Hard.
And put her sore hands over her ears.
And closed her eyes.
Tight.

Streak could feel the pull on his silver going towards her hand. Thankfully it wasn’t as much as it had been in the past, because he knew that she recognized the fact that pulling the silver away from him had adverse side effects for him, even if it was just for a few seconds. Lily soon released his hand and was ready to go. He picked up his sword and said, “Right let’s go find the rest of our team.” Streak started by leading the way. He wasn’t going to let her get surprised by anything right now. The bigger problem they were facing right now was finding the rest of the X-men. They could have been anywhere within the confines of this underground labyrinth. Seeing as most people were either fighting or running out; Streak figured that he could find his people by heading in the opposite direction of the masses.
“Come one lets try this way.” Streak said as he started to move back to where the stairs started turning into bridges and would send them spiraling deeper into the abysmal underground that was the Romanian camps. When the U.S. tried this same move a couple years earlier it turned into an all out blood shed. Hopefully this wouldn’t be the case this time; although he wasn’t to confident about that considering the fact that he’d passed a few Order members to get down to Jewel.
As Streak moved down the stairs he occasionally looked back to make sure he hadn’t lost Lily amidst the throngs of people. He didn’t run into much opposition going down considering most people were going up and trying to escape. Streak was the only one stupid enough to be going into the fight. He had no idea if he’d find his people by heading his way. There was just no telling. All the X-Men may have already passed him and were heading out but he had no idea and Streak was going to look for them until he found an answer to where they were.
Jewel followed Streak, watching the people they passed; some of them were familiar from her weeks spent in the camps. Those who just wanted to get out and away were rapidly disappearing through all kinds of exits, real ones and ones made by the rescue team; and then there were those who wanted revenge. Lily shuddered atthe noises that filled the camps. None of them were pleasant. The silver over heruninjured hand formed into a short blade. Just in case. She caught up to Streak. "Who are we looking for exactly?" the question was so obvious she did't even think about asking it sooner "I know Alex is in here, they are keeping her separate from the rest of us, I have no idea why." she added "Shin is also there. He's blind." she went on. She was strangely calm. Listing points that might prove to be a problem during therescue operation "At least he was while the collars were on." she almost had to run to keepup with Streak "Who else got captured?" And, more importantly, where are they?...

Sam’s teeth clenched as he looked up to the nearest guard Alex had been gone for a while now and he didn’t like it, he didn’t know why she was gone so long but he knew it couldn’t be good. His breath held in his chest as he let it exhale slowly with each punch to his stomach. Tensing his abdomens and lifting his feet off the ground with every strike that he received he tried to soften the blows by cutting down the resistance his body normally would have given.
They said something in Romanian and all started to laugh dropping Sam to the ground in his cell. He didn’t get up but waited till they left the cell and the hallway, if they knew he could still move after gotten thrown around like they did to him they wouldn’t have stopped. So he decided to play opossum and let them have their fun using him as a punching bag.
As they were leaving Sam’s head started to swim as he felt a twinge of warmth coming from the direction the guards left. It was wired like he could feel the guards right next to him but when he turned his good eye down the hallway there was nothing there just a door swinging shut. Shaking his head he got up and went over to the broken mirror that he managed to save hidden under the mattress. Sitting on the mattress that he chose not to sleep on he looked at his left eye in the mirror, well the spot where his left eye used to be. All that remained was a thin layer of cloth and a black eye patch.
He sighed and wondered if and when he got out of the camp if anyone could heal it, it would be cheating those who couldn’t heal but he had to many things left to do to only have the use of half of his sight. His depth perception for now has been completely shot in time he had a feeling he could regain some of it back but it would never truly be anywhere near having two eyes which is why his thoughts trailed to Sebastian, and Slate, two of the healers he knew. Sebastian of course would be his first choice he didn’t feel like owing any favors to Slate anytime not now or the near future.
He closed his eyes and imagined what he looked like with two eyes and then set the mirror back under the mattress. Getting up and walking over to the metal door he placed his hands on it and wished he could break out of this place and find those he cared about, there was no time to feel sorry for himself now, he would do that once he was state side.
Placing his hands on the door he scanned the hinges and frowned they wouldn’t budge and the door… there was no way he was going to budge it … ”The hell?” Sam questioned as he looked to the area his right hand was placed on. There was frost on it…
It was cold but defiantly not cold enough to cause frost on the door. That was when everything clicked and Sam started to laugh. He reached out and aimed at the wall away from his cell entranced and focused on condensing the air molecules and slowing them into ice. A beam of white and blue shot out as he started to laugh even more. It was back and there was no pain due to the collar not turning on!
Reaching up and placing his hands around the collar Sam covered his neck in ice and the turned the mutt collar to ice. With a swift pull Sam was free from the oppression of the collar, it seemed someone came through and the break out was upon them but first he was going to make sure everyone was all right before he worried about himself escaping. ”Bam!” with a snap of his fingers the hinges covered in a frost and weakened with a solid push Sam managed to separate the cell door from the wall and he walked out onto the cold hallway floor, which already started to cover in ice.
”I’m BACK!” yelled Sam as he forced all the water in the air to turn to ice. Aiming at his former cell wall he froze it over then caused it to shatter this cell was his and he was going to make sure no one would live in it ever again. The room started to freeze over with ice. The air became colder and brittle and the walls all around his cell turned white and covered with ice inside and out.
Turning to the next metal door that the guards exited he heard it burst back open and the guards with stun guns and regular guns stormed the room. ”If any of you speak English I suggest you run an hide, this will be the only warning I will give any of you!” he said coldly as he found his stern voice. His body started to cover in a thick ice and he moved slowly to the door his mutation already starting to affect the guards and their weapons.

"Who are we looking for exactly?" "I know Alex is in here, they are keeping her separate from the rest of us, I have no idea why." "Shin is also there. He's blind." "At least he was while the collars were on." "Who else got captured?"
Streak was going at a very fast pace now. Lily was apparently struggling to keep up with him. He slowed down a little so that she would have an easier time keeping up with him. Streak didn't know how well Lily was holding up or how well she'd been able to keep her health and strength up while in the camps. "We're looking for everyone else." Streak said shortly. He knew who had been catpurred, but he didn't know where they were. Maybe Lily would have a better idea of where they were kept.
Shawn continued talking as he kept making his way down deeper into the camps. "Well, there's you and Alex..." Streak began, " Sam, Shin, Kaz, and Ghost. As far as I know the only people that weren't captured was Leuco, Fade and myself." For a minute he'd forgotten that him and Fade were the only ones that knew aobut Kasumi's code name. He'd gotten pretty used to using it that he didn't even think twice about what he'd called her.
Finally after going on for what seemed like a long time, the place definitely started to tin out. More people were fighting and the blood shed was actually becoming more rampant. Apparently more peopole were figuring out that they could fight back and they were taking advantage of that fact. Streak suddenly stopped. "Do you feel that? It's colder here than it was higher up." Streak then headed down the hallway and felt the temperature continue to drop. Streak saw ice start to form around the walls in the hallway. "We must be close to Sam." Streak said excitedly. He was glad that it was this easy to find him. After all, it seeme dlike it was going to be a lot harder to find the rest of the team. Especially since Sam was the only one with a power like that. Everyone else would simply have to be in the right place at the right time. Otherwise they might end up there for a lot longer than what's really necessary.
"Sam!" Streak called to make sure that he was headed in the right direction. The silver mutant also sped up his pace to get there faster. Either Same was about to fight or he was trying to get someone's attention. He'd definitely gotten Streak's attention and he would help Sam in a fight any day.
Streak slowed down but Lily still had to walk really fast to keep up with him. Her mind spun with the things he said - Sam was in the camps? Since when? And how the hell did they catch him? And Ghost?... And who the heck is Leuco? Some rescue team we are. We'll need to work on not getting caught... She could feel he air getting colder as they descended onto the next level. She had been there a couple of times, but she didn't remember a change in temperature... "We must be close to Sam." Lily could feel her beath forming tiny clouds in the air. Shawn sped up again, and she had to run; she was out of breath by the time they reached the corridor with the frozen walls, some scared guards, and a very, very pissed off Sam covered in ice. "Uh-oh." was all she could say as she stopped, not wanting to get in the way, and let Streak go ahead. Wether he wanted to join the fight, or just talk to Sam, he could probably handle the situation. Lily leaned againt a wall and caught her breath. Her sides ached. "Looks like Hell just froze over." she muttered. It took her a second look to notice the wound on Sam's face.

A few guards lifted their weapons and even though some of them started to freeze over a few of them tried to pull the triggers. The ones holding the tasers went down as soon as their fingers hit the trigger. The barb only went a foot before the ice traveled from the stun gun up to the cable to slow it down. From there the electricity traveled up the ice and back to the users hand.
Those that were wielding more deadly arms took their aim. The guards started yelling at him in Romanian before Sam acted he started to lose his cool; the sudden flashback of the female guard that did a number on his body and took his eye came into play. His heart rate rose and his pupil dilated in his right eye. Anger had begun to over whelm his being and all he thought about was getting the guards to shut up. ”Have it your way!”
He closed his eye and focused on the cold around the four guards that were aiming guns at him, he knew they were going to kill him if he didn’t do anything and with his thoughts currently on the loss of his eye anger and fear took over. Within seconds three bangs could be heard and for a brief second before impact Sam’s head felt like it was being split opened. Red came into his line of vision, which caused him to fall over and hold his head.
Sam howled out in pain as his head continued to throb. Eye snapped shut Sam was essentially blind. He wasn’t dead or near it but he felt like he was in more pain that he had ever been in. The bullets he could feel them on his skin though they didn’t pierce the skin but the ice armor he was wearing.
The guards advanced further readying their final assault on the collapsed ice mutant readying to snuff out his attempt to escape. Sam looked up with one eye and frowned and despite his head still recovering from the mind flash a second before he was able to think clearly at least enough to thicken his armor and fire a beam of ice at another one of the armed guards causing his gun to freeze over completely. Through the chaos and the confusion that he was in he managed or thought he managed to hear someone call out his name.
Abyss slowly but surely mangled every guard that came his way and began to build a wall out of the dead behind him it would be a good ward against those that are simply trying to hide and wait out the chaos, let them come here and see the terrible payment of their sins.
He stepped forward as yet another baby faced murdere came fleeing for his life, what did they think was going to happen, it was the same with all of the things that humans tried to cage, eventually those that had evolved more profoundly would escape and kill their captor.
Mercurcy had found his way into a work shed and found a pair of objects that once in his hands were no longer useful tools, but dangerous implements, one was a large wood cutting axe, they used them for restocking the grunts furnaces, and the other was a sledge hammer, they had fun making a single mutant work days on end with it breaking rock that had no business being broken, the guard would change shift and the mutant would stay. He skipped down the hall humming the theme to the power puff girls. they were mutants too you know. every so often he would take a break of humming and skipping to dispatch of someone in camouflage and full of stupidity.
Mars left a few of the vehicles in the parking lot in tact, but they were surrounded by other wrecked vehicles to get them in proper use they would have to have someone with the appropriate amount of power to clear their way. Mars circled the complex looking for those that had somehow made it out of the compound unscathed. he was impressed in that those that were leaving were mutants indeed.
((Saturn,Jupiter and Venus are covered in other threads))
With a hiss and a pop, akin to an old style camera flash, Roland's eyes opened. The light in the room was dim and only partially illuminated the room from the ceiling. Swiveling eyes saw the origin to be emergency lights, their two lamps focused at the ceiling. A rumble from below jolted the man's senses enough for him to notice that he was on his back. The sudden increase in sensation also awakened screaming nerves as his entire body seemed to be racked with every sort of pain imaginable. He shuddered involuntarily, his hands instinctively moving, though not much considering they were cuffed behind his back. Roland started to roll over to get on his knees but found that the floor was terribly slippery, his body sliding back into place with a thump each time he moved.
The floor was wet with a viscous substance, its coppery odor becoming thicker as his awareness widened. Blood. Lots of it. Considering his vitality, he couldn't imagine it all came from him. Damned collar was still on his neck, taunting him to make a move and be forcibly punished. A large table and at least one overturned chair was nearby in his part of the room. Roland braced his feet against the wall and forced his shoulder against the table leg, giving him enough resistance to arch his back and slide the cuffs to beneath his knees. Then it was simple enough to pull his legs up and have the manacles in sight. Gritting his teeth in preparation for the incoming shock, he looked at the cuffs and then...they weren't there?
Eyes wide with a sense of cautious wonder, Roland's blood soaked and pain wracked body turned and he was on his feet. Reaching up he found that the collar was still in place, yet somehow inactive. His eyes came into more focus, the room becoming clearer. A figure was in his peripheral vision, standing to his left, his instincts leaping to his aid as the large table was on its side, standing on one end between him and the other, serving as cover. Looking down at himself, he only had grimy pants, soggy with blood and slip on sandals. He was shirtless, several wounds of various sources revealed.
No weapons. His hope was that he could spot a gun on this other man with a quick look. Edging to the table's new corner, he quickly darted his head around and then moved back to his position. An eyebrow raised in quizzical concern. Stepping out from the table's concealment, the other man stepped out as well. The east wall was apparently a large mirror, more than likely the two-way variety, considering the rest of the room, which was apparently one made for interviews or in his case, brutal interrogation.
The pain in his body kept his senses snarling like an animal, though no recollection of the events leading to this moment could be accessed. Two way mirrors meant other rooms easily accessed nearby. Mirrors. Reflections. A sudden wave of nausea gripped Roland's entire gastrointestinal tract as it violently seized and bile water splashed on the floor. Even in the faux light of the room, the image of the man in the mirror was unmistakable. His head turned from the putrid puddle at his feet, his body racked with shivers, part nausea, part pain, all shock as his eyes met his own in the reflection.
It was his face. His true face. The one his mother and father had formed. Confusion and disorientation melted before the growing wave of rage that rose from within Roland's chest. A camera was in the corner of the room's ceiling. No longer did it's eye blink, but it had before. His breathing became shallow and rapid, the idea of his long dead face now on tape. That mirror had to go, as did he. A metal chair in hand, he stepped back to take his first swing at the hardened glass. Sandals slipped in the slick mess of the floor and he flew backward, landing on something that felt like another person.
Shaking off the cobwebs, Roland grabbed the legs and turned to face the only person who wasn't him in the room. Fortunately, his stomach contents were already gone as he looked into what appeared to be a thinly covered skull perched on shoulders. Squinting at it, he could see what was once a nose pushed up into the holes in the skull where nostrils once led. Eyes were sunken pools of fleshy fluid and nearly all the teeth were gone. It looked like the man had taken an epic beating from something savage, like a rabid gorilla. Of course, no one else was in the room and with the perusal of swollen, bloody knuckles, it became clear who was the savage.
It must have been when his identity was revealed. Even now he could feel the burning sun within his body, pushing him hard to move, to escape, to kill anyone who did anything but move out of the way. The chair returned to his hand and with a great overarm heave of muscle and the use of his gift, the chair left his hand and appeared at the mirror, its full kinetic force stopping only at the resistance of the glass. The two back legs were impaled into the glass, giving him leverage to push and pull until more of it began to crumble and crack. The violence returned to his mind naturally, as if it had only been stayed for the shock of self realization. With each pull, push and swing of the chair, he could hear strained growls of rage utter forth. As soon as there was room to get through, the glass along the mirror's bottom edge moved away, one particularly large shard finding its way to his hand. Roland ripped the fabric of his lower right leg, severing it free with the shard and the strip was wrapped tight many times around its base. Prison skills never died as a wicked shiv gave him something to work with.

(OOC: not sure I got the number of guards right)
Streak ran into the fray. Most of the guards were slowed down enough for him to catch up to them and get between the guards and Sam. He ran past the couple on the ground that tried to use their tasers on Sam, ran past the guards advancing on the ice mutant and to Sam’s side. Seeing as how the guards were so engrossed in killing Sam, Streak had the opportunity to get a good swing to their weapons with his sword. One swipe that was all it took to cut through each of the guns and render them useless. Maybe a few fingers or parts of hands fell off with the cuts to the guns. But so what? It was better than them losing their lives wasn’t it?
Sam looked way worse than Lily did, especially since he was missing an eye. The silver mutant called Sam’s name again. “Sam. We’d better go.” Streak put his arm around Sam to sty and help him up. Looking him over Shawn didn’t see any blood running behind the ice; however, that didn’t mean that he wasn’t hurting from the bullets that were lodged in the ice. “Stay back.” Streak warned the guards, as he pointed his sword at each one of them in turn. He figured the guards didn’t speak any English, however maybe they would be smart enough to realize that they weren’t dealing with someone that could have easily taken all of their lives, but didn’t.
Lily was leaning against the wall back where they’d first come into the hallway where Sam was. “Lily get over here.” He needed her help right now, especially if the guards were planning on not letting them leave that easily. If the guards were planning on fighting to keep them there then Streak would need both hands to get them out.
Jewel waited till Streak took care of the guards; Sam looked like the frozen over hell he created, and Lily was in no shape to fight either, so it looked like he was going to have to do most of the work till they got out of the camps. Once the first round of fighting was over, and the guards backed away for a moment realizing how strong their opponents were, it was time to move. Lily hurried over to Sam's side to support him if he needed help. She made sure to stay as far from the guards as possible, but her sixth sense was working on overdrive ever since the collars were turned off. "They don't have anything I can work with" she whispered to Streak. It was better if he knew that, just in case. Lily thought about how limited her powers were in a combat, then decided to dwell on it later. "Sam" she looked up at their team leader. She was past panicking, the only way they were going to get out alive was by keeping a level head in the middle of chaos "How can I help?"
