I got this idea while watching Scooby Doo On Zombie Island the other day. I was thinking what if there was a mutant who had the ability to trap someone in a manifestation of their greatest fears. What if this same person had a rather large power increase and decided to use their power for being just a sadistic evil jerk. This person decides to go into an old abandoned house and live there and begin 'haunting it. After a while, people begin recognizing this haunted house as a terrifying place and all the neighbors around it move out after several Deaths occur under strange and mysterious circumstances.
The mutants power mainly has to deal with fears so he or she is a form of a psychic having the ability to read what someones fear is and use it against them. The mutants power is so great that they made the entire house that they have been residing in a trap for ether foolhardy teenagers who are dared to reside in its house for a day or for heroes who want to destroy this murderer before they strike again. It can turn the house from just a normal creepy housed into the origin of the persons greatest fears trapping them in it.
Problem is the villain has yet to have a group of people go in. So when they trap one person in one living nightmare all of the others will be trapped as well giving them time to save their friend before its to late.
Basically this isn't a mandatory plot idea or anything like that this is just a fun evil villain idea I had among many others. Tell me what you guys think and if yall would be interested in doing it.
This reminds me a lot of an episode of Buffy the Vampire slayer in which Buffy and her gang had to deal with a fear demon that had basically taken over a frat house. All their fears were made manifest and they basically had to confront them in their quest to get to the demon who was controlling everything going on in the house. I think that this idea could be a lot of fun especially for, as you suggest, a group of fool hardy characters. If you were start something relating to the idea, I'd definately volunteer Juka for one of the foolhardy
The one episode of buffy I didn't see! I guess the real difference is that it shapes it into a living nightmare for one of the poor saps who go in there and everyone has to go try to stop it all the while viewing their companions darkest fears and possibly secrets.
A Buffy musical based thread was tried on here a month or two ago but never really got off the ground. It was most saddening that no one was able to see Juka in all his musical related glory nor was there any laughter to be had on those poor sabs that realy couldn't sing if their lives depended on it.
Sadness beyond belief, indeed. CS and the Lukinator also tried that with Hyde and some crazy villain named Private Dancer. I'm unsure how that went, but I know it was disturbing. That's one of CS's fears, after all. Creepy dance instructors.
And Giant's Bane just wants to reenact the prison production of Thriller.
Hmmm, since people want to post after the romanian plotline but since they are stuck there now I have an idea.
how about its not one mutant but its two mutants, twins who have identical powers. Then we will have one group of heroes, ((X kids, non deployed x men and other factions members)) do conquer the first and then everyone else conquer the second.
