The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Streak watched them just long enough for see that they'd started to head across the border. As he looked back at the injured group trying to pull themselves together to get up and try to fight him again. One managed to get up and charge after Streak. But he was just too slow to keep himself from being beaten again. While Streak was dealing with him the others found the strength to get up and gather together and for a plan. With one wild haymaker at Streak's head the first tower guard was taken out of the fight permanently. Shawn blocked and sent him flying over the edge of the tower's half-wall and send him to the ground.
Ooops.
The silver eyed mutant looked back at the remaining guards and saw that they had all picked up weapons. Another quick glance over the edge showed him that most of them had gotten across the border and were now in the neutral zone safely. Go, go go! Shawn thought in his head before turning his attention to the remaining three in the tower. They had a variety of weapons. One a gun, the other a knife and the third had a baton. Immediately threat first... The gun. With just a few quick movements he'd formed a sword and started took out the guy with the gun, Next the two other guys came after him. He easily took care of them, and threw all their weapons to the ground. Unconscious, Streak left the three of them there. He ran down the stairs as fast as he could. He didn't know how long they'd be out but as soon as they were awake they'd sound the alarm and alert every other tower along the border of his presence.
Bang, Bang!!
He'd reached the bottom of the stairs when the chaos started. They'd apparently woken up already. Nope... those were the guys that Lily had knocked out. They'd managed to get out of their silver shackles and call for help. Maybe throwing the guy off the tower wasn't exactly the most subtle thing in the world that he could have done. Streak high tailed it for the border. Once he was across he could only hope that they would stop. Guns continued to go off as the distance quickly increased between Streak and the towers. He zigged. He zagged. He was just trying to stay alive. Streak was so busy that he almost ran past the group he'd helped get across the border. Gun shots could still be heard ricocheting off metal and hitting patches in the ground or tree trunks. "Whew that was close. I think they know though so we'd better get going." Streak said still a little on edge from being shot at.
"Whew that was close. I think they know though so we'd better get going." Lily could hear the shots and she felt Streak approaching in a hurried manner, dodging bullets as he ran, but she knew better than to look out from behind the trees. She looked at the others, making sure everyone was safe and covered, just when her teammate ran past her. Almost. "So much for not drawing attention" she frowned "Come on people, let's move." She let them go first, making sure nobody was left behind. "Well, on the bright side, we are officially not in Romania anymore. On the other hand..." she frowned "... I don't think anyone would care if the guards made some minor mistake. So. The farther the better." She looked up at Streak as they started moving. "You all right?"

Streak waited for them all to get up and start moving. They needed to be careful so that no one got hit. Since the bullets were still flying, it seemed that they were just shooting blindly. There were only short glimpses of the group as they began scuttling from tree to tree. “Ya I’m fine.” The silver mutant said hugging Lily quickly as they continued to walk. “It’s gonna be hard getting back now that they know we just got across. How far do you think we need to take them…? ‘Cause getting back will take a lot longer now that the guards are on alert.” He said to her.
He had no intention of just getting them across and abandoning them. That wasn’t really the plan. Shawn was more interested in getting things them all set up in the new country before they returned. He didn't think they’d be there that long but it did seem like they should at least not be left out to dry in a brand new country with no knowledge of the current events and feelings towards mutants in that country.
“Ya I’m fine. It’s gonna be hard getting back now that they know we just got across. How far do you think we need to take them…? ‘Cause getting back will take a lot longer now that the guards are on alert.” Bullets were still flying, but they were getting more scarce, and farther from where the group actually was now that the shooters couldn't see the mutants anymore. Nobody got hit, which was a minor miracle; Lily could catch a glimpse of the teenager's tail as he zigzagged in front of them. She monitored the bracelets, making sure the group was still together. "Yeah, we'll probably have to go farther down and try somewhere else" she nodded "On the bright side, they are probably not prepared for mutants coming in. In their experience, everyone is trying to get out of here..." The shooting finally stopped, some time after the group got out of range; the night was deep and silent like it usually is in the hours before dawn. After some walking they reached the edge of the woods, and were looking down at a town; lights were on the streets, but most of the houses were dark, their inhabitants sleeping. "This is as far as we can take you all" Lily told the group as they stopped "There's some empty buildings down this road, you can stay there till you figure out the rest. Keep the bracelets" she added, waving her hand, and the rings of silver parted so they could be taken off "They are made of silver. Here." she took off her backpack and handed it to one of the women "Some money, some food, first aid, maps, a few other things... not much, but it might help. If you need us, there's instructions on how to reach us. We'll be taking the other refugees across the border soon; they'll know how to find you, you can wait for them." She looked at the people they just saved, and smiled "Be very careful. Look out for each other. Don't trust strangers. And... good luck." The teenager nodded, tail swishing; Lily put an arm on his shoulder. "You did good tonight. Keep protecting the others."

Streak continued to walk next to Lily as the rest of the group walked in front of them. They took the group a little ways farther until Lily spoke up. He didn't think that they would need something other than themselves to make a new life. Jewel had obviously thought of that. Right about now Streak was really glad that he'd brought her along. She'd thought of things that hadn't even crossed his mind. Shawn just continued to let her talk and nodded his approval as she explained a few things about what their lives would be like for a while.
"Good luck and take care." Streak said finally pipping up. He supposed she was right thought. The guards probably weren't looking for mutants, or anyone really, trying to get into the country. It was pretty obvious that everyone would be trying to get out of the country. They were the only two stupid, brave, enough to try to get back in once they'd gotten out. Shawn waived at them all before he turned around, looked at Lily, and said, "So you ready to head back?" He didn't really have much to say to the group. They didn't really need to have things reiterated for them. Lily had pretty much covered everything that he probably would have said to them anyways. "We've got a long trip back. We should probably get started right away." Shawn, now not looking at the group, looked at the long distance that they had to cover again. Unfortunately he still got the feeling that they'd have trouble getting back over, no matter how optimistic Lily was being.
"So you ready to head back? We've got a long trip back. We should probably get started right away." "Sure, let's go." Jewel nodded, glancing after the group of refugees one last time. It was getting very late - or very early - and they had a long way to go, since they couldn't cross the border the same way they came. "So, what's the plan?" she asked Shawn as they walked back into the woods "Go and try to cross a few towers down?" It would be easier to move now that it was just the two of them; but it was still enough to be noticed, if they were not careful. "I bet they sent out all the patrols now that they saw us cross..." Jewel felt strangely awake. She should have been exhausted from the walk and from staying up all night, but she wasn't. Must be the adrenaline.

“The plan’s simple… we go back across.” Streak said. It probably wasn’t quite that simple, but he hadn’t finished deciding what to do yet. “We’ll probably scope out the original point where we came through first just to see if they might be hiding or have it heavily guarded. Whatever they decided to do there might give us an indication as to where they might have fewer people guarding entrances.” Said the silver mutant as he explained the first thing that came to his head.
The couple continued to walk back towards the border in some silence. Since there was nothing to do and they still had a while before they reached the towers he asked, “So how’d you think the mission went?” Shawn was happy with it, especially since no one got hurt, but because it went off without a hitch…more or less. The adrenaline was wearing off of him since he was currently not being shot at, or fighting, or sneaking a large group of people across the border, or anything that currently needed him to pay more attention to it. But that would change as soon as they got back to the towers; which wouldn’t take long.
“So how’d you think the mission went?” Lily glanced up at Streak, and tilted her head. "Well, we got everyone across unhurt, supplied them with essentials the best we could, gave them a chance to start over free in a new country, we raised some hell in at least one watchtower..." she smiled "... I think we did good." She looked ahead towards the border. "Now we just have to go home and report it to Sam. It would look kinda lame if we got caught on the way back, wouldn't it." she chuckled. She was joking around, but her attention didn't drop; she kept her senses flowing, ready to pick up any sign of movement she could focus on. "We'll need to find a new crossing point next time." she mused "How many people do we have left?..."

Streak gave a small chuckle. “Ya that’d be pretty embarrassing if we got captured on the way back. I can see the conversation now…’Hey Sam thanks for rescuing us. Who knew that they arrested mutants trying to get back in the country as well as those trying to get out, huh?’ ” He agreed. They continued to walk through the forest and he kept his attention in front of him as they neared the border. “Lets go this way a little bit.” Streak said to Jewel as he started to walk to his right.
After walking in a parallel direction of the border for a while, Shawn once again started to head straight at the border. He wasn’t sure if they’d moved far enough off the original path that they crossed in but they were now not walking on the exact same path as when they’d first crossed the border. “Any point that we use to get in or out of the country we won't be able to use again ‘cause they’ll be guarding it more carefully than they were before we went through.” Streak explained. It was a big country and they would be able to get through different points along the way. In all actuality in stead of a large in flux of refugees in one country they would probably end up with a group in one country and a group in another country and a third in a completely different country. It all depended on how well they were able to get though the borders defenses.
“Ya that’d be pretty embarrassing if we got captured on the way back. I can see the conversation now…’Hey Sam thanks for rescuing us. Who knew that they arrested mutants trying to get back in the country as well as those trying to get out, huh?’ ” Despite the gravity of the situation, Jewel chuckled at that. "Let's not do that. This is my first mission, and I don't feel like embarrassing myself in front of our almighty leader..." She could tell they were getting close to the border again; her sixth sense was picking up bits and pieces of metal that were moving around. None of them too close, fortunately. “Any point that we use to get in or out of the country we won't be able to use again ‘cause they’ll be guarding it more carefully than they were before we went through.” Jewel nodded, looking around, using her vision that was getting used to the darkness and the moonlight as well as her sixth sense to monitor their surroundings. One can't be careful enough... "It makes sense. Next time we come we'll have to... watch out!" It was only a mere second before the shot that she noticed the glint of moonight on something behind the bushes, and the hurried movement of someone taking aim. He must have just noticed them too, because the shot missed them by a couple of feet at least; it was still close enough to make Jewel act on instinct, using her powers to pull Streak out of the way and down into cover behind a tree. She probably wouldn't have been strong enough to do it without her powers pulling on his silver; this way the pull was almost too strong. "Damn." They either figured out how she found them, or they were just lucky enough not to wear any silver or gold. So. Damn.

Streak continued walking along. He wasn’t really expecting anything to happen to them while they were still on this side of the border. What reason could their be for someone to attack them while they were here? It just didn’t make sense. This government had no authority in this country, although apparently it didn’t stop them from trying. As the aimlessness came about their walking it seemed like it would take them longer to get back than he originally hoped it would.
Streak was even looking in a completely different direction when Lily shouted. He was pulled in a completely different direction from which he was walking. “Whoa!” Streak cried out as he was pulled out of the way by Lily’s powers. As he landed behind a tree, Shawn heard the gun shot go off. He jumped off the ground as fast as he could, and dipped and dodged to get to the guy doing the shooting. After a few quick peeks around some trees he found the guy. “Surprise.” Streak said and the guy stopped taking aim at Lily to see who had snuck up on him.
The man swung the butt of his rifle at Streak’s head. Streak did what was natural. He ducked. As the man swung the rifle back at him he blocked the second swing and punched him in the gut. The sound of air being forcibly let out could be heard through the calm night. The man was still trying to swing his gun around and hit Shawn with it. Fortunately, Streak was able to get a good grip on the gun and prevent him from pulling it back to get a shot off or to get hit. Streak kicked him back and forced him to hit the tree that was behind him. Sadly, kicking him enabled him to get enough space to where he was able to use the gun. Streak was onto the man in mere seconds and grabbed the muzzle of the gun. Just before a second shot rang out in the night.
One moment they were ducking for cover, the next Shawn was gone, and Jewel was left alone to figure out what would be the best course of action. She moved behind another tree and looked out, forcing her vision to see what was happening; her sixth sense could follow Shawn as he moved towards their unseen enemy. The came the sounds of fighting and struggling, and a couple of hits that sounded painful. But no more shots. Jewel took the opportunity to start moving closer to them, in case Streak needed help. Nothing moved on her radar, but, as they'd just found out, that didn't necessarily mean they were alone. She remained as quiet as possible. Of there were more guards around, the element of surprise was something she wanted to have. At least that was what she thought, before the second shot. After it, she was just scared. If Shawn got shot... that would be bad, very bad. Their first-aid kit was with the refugees, they had no healer on the team, they were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by guards who hunt mutants... "Damn." Again. Lily moved as fast as possible towards the guards and Shawn; every time she stopped she tried to see through the veil of darkness to tell what was happening. It took her a few deep breaths for the sixth sense to start working properly again. Please don't be hurt.

The muzzle went from cold to hot in a matter of seconds. As soon as he grabbed the gun he twisted sideways and pushed the gun away from him. Whew! That was close. This thought flashed though his mind as he let go of the gun. His hands were burning now because of the heat that was produced from the bullet leaving the gun. Streak then threw an elbow and hit the guy in the face, causin his head to go fly backwards and hit the trunk of the tree behind him. A couple more elbows to the mans chin and he sent him unconsciouly slumping to the floor.
Streak let the man slump to floor rather not so gently. The silver man took the gun away from the unconscious guy and proceeded to remove the ammo. He left the gun there but threw the ammo as far as he could away from the man and his gun. Streak heard some running towards him. he supposed it was Lily but he couldn't be sure. If it was another guard he had to be ready to continue to fight. Streak then saw Jewel running towards him and signaled that he was ok. Now that the fight was over he took some time to catch his breath. it'd been a long day and he was looking forward to crashing back at his hotel room. "I'm fine. Let's move." The silvermancer finally said to Lily once she was close enough to hear him talk without shouting.
"I'm fine. Let's move." Lily slowed down as she came near to them, and looked at the guard on the ground. He wouldn't be causing any trouble for a while. Hopefully. But is was not likely that he ame out here alone. "You sure?" she asked without thinking about it, putting her hands on Streak's shoulders as she looked him over, searching for wounds. Because he would be reckless enough to lie about stuff like that. "All right, let's go." she nodded and turned back towards the border, pulling him along by the hand "I am getting sleepy here." She wasn't. She was still full of adrenaline, and just started to calm down after the long moments of thinking he got shot. But she did really, really wish this night mission was finally over. They got to the edge of the clearing where the wire fence ran. It looked like if nothing else they at least did a good job with clearing the woods on both sides of the border. The black outline of a watchtower bas visible on a hilltop, but it was much farther than the last time they crossed. Lily stopped behind some bushes, looking at the border. The moon was already setting; it wouldn't be so light out there for much longer. "So.What now?"

His assurance that he was fine didn't seem to satisfy Lily. She seemed to feel the need to check him out on her own and get her own opinion. Streak let her check him out,e ven though he really have any harm done to him. Once she was ssatisfied she took his hand and continued heading to the border. "Well, don't get too sleepy now. I don't wanna have to carry you the rest of the way home." Streak said as he kept up with her. It looked like they wouldn't have a choice. They'd proabalby have to make a break for it, and run until they got to another patch of forested area.
Boy what governements went through to make srue things that theywanted happened. Streak was hoping that they wouldn't have to worry too much more about people interrrupting their travel back. Once they were far enough away from the border they wouldn't run into problems since they both passed for humans. "We need to get across the border. Obviously. But I don't see anyone around so I think we might as well make a run for the border." Streak said. He didn't really think that they would need to much o f a plan to get back across the border, mainly because...as they'd discussed earlier, the guards probably didn't expect many mutants to be breaking in.
