The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emerald spoke proudly with confidence about how the X-Men would solve everything. Henri would love to believe that and Twyla seemed to believe it was possible. The brunette wasn’t so sure though. Some people change, but she doubted they would. After everything she had seen and been through, she just doubted it. People were too scared of things they didn’t know or that were different than them and that wouldn’t change. At least not easily... They were two different species after all.
The conversation shifted to another question. Ugly pants or ugly shirts forever? “Hmm…I think I’d prefer ugly pants forever. Shirts are usually something people look at right away.” She just hoped they were nasty material, not fitting. The last thing she’d need is her butt looking all weird. It was probably the last thing most girls needed, actually.
Henrietta wondered what the other girls would say. It was a good question, in her opinion. Well, good in an odd sort of way. Maybe more random than odd. Anyway, she shoved a few more chips in her mouth quickly as she waited for the other girls to talk.
Though Emerald spoke so adamantly about the X men, she was mainly speaking of who they once were and not as much what she had seen last time she was in a danger room meeting. A bunch of ill organized, cowardly little mice who wouldn't know how to be heroes even if they had a handbook spread out in front of them. What Emerald did believe though was that she could somehow make a difference in this world, one criminal at a time.
“Ugly Shirt, I can distract my foes with the sheer ugliness of my shirt easier than I can with my pants. Since the first thing they usually see is a fist to the face.” Emerald explained a grin plain to see on her face. Distracting a villain with an ugly outfit would be a perfect strategy for some of those fru fru villains that get easily distracted by crap like that.
Emmy looked at the paper Twyla passed her with curious eyes, looking at the questions with an arched brow. These questions were weird to say the least and Em couldn't believe they would ask some of them, they seemed sort of dumb to her. The wolf girl would ask a fairly easy question though, or at least one for her.
“Alright, if you were being sent to a desert island with the clothes on your back and three items what three items would you bring with you?” Emerald asked, “You guys say yours because mine I have to find.”Emerald then began rummaging through the seemingly endless pockets of her jacket for one of her things she would bring with her.

Henri and Emerald chose differing answers on the same premise–people see your shirt first. Henrietta wanted people to judge her on the nicer shirt while the wolf girl wanted the ugly equivalent to be a distraction mechanism. Emerald’s response made Twyla smile even if she was talking about punching someone in the face. It was a funny image–hence the smiling.
The paper was handed off like a baton and soon it was the wolf girl’s turn to pick a question. The one she posed would be a bit difficult for the blonde to answer. Hmmm...what would be the most useful? She tried to think of it in a logical way and she bit her lip as she did so.
After a moment of silent contemplation she finally answered: “I’d want a pocket knife, some flint, and a water purifier.” There, she’d have the tools to survive for as long as possible in most conditions. At least she thought she would–it had been a long time since she’d been camping or hunting, now all she knew how to do was survive in the urban jungle.
((OOC: Of course that question works Thread of love, Emerald, there is no wrong question. ;D ))
Emerald chose an ugly shirt to throw people off. Henrietta saw that Twyla was smiling as she began to laugh. "That's actually a really good answer. Very smart for fights." It would make for a good plan in the long run. Henri spaced off slightly as she pictured a chibi person saying, "Hey, be in awe of the ugly!" and then kicking the bad guy in the face. She took a minute to try to figure out why the person was chibi, but decided to give it up.
The question that Emerald asked was what three items would you bring with you on a desert island? Twyla thought for a small while and then gave her answer. Those were all very practical things, but part of Henri wanted to bring a book. Well, lots of books. In reality though, what would she bring? "Well, I don't know how to use flint, so I'd bring a big lighter and extra lighter fluid as two of them. The last thing I'd need is a pan so I could boil my water and kill all the gross stuff in it. Hopefully food can be found there."
Henrietta took a few more chips and put them into her mouth. She chewed in silence for a minute. Swallowing, she smiled. "What about you, Emerald? What would you bring?" Henri had a feeling that Twyla and Emerald would probably last a lot longer than she would. Henri loved to be outside for short amounts of time. Camping once in a while was fun, but generally speaking, the brunette loved dry places where bugs couldn't get to her.
After much deliberation and searching on the wolf girls part she finally managed to recover what she was looking for. After listening to both girls talk about what they would bring she nodded in response, both being very wise in what they chose. Emerald had a good deal of experience with dealing with the outdoors and had made make shift shelters in woods before. Not only that but living on a deserted island was ideal for someone with her abilities of water manipulation.
“Well, I would bring a Machete, some rope and,” Emerald paused for a moment before retrieving a small folded up paper from her jacket pocket, unfolding it as she did so. “This, My older sister gave it to me when she was 14 and I was 8, I promised her I would keep it forever and I'm not planning on going back on that all because I'm stuck on an Island.”
The Picture was a drawing of Emerald's family, each of them sketched in a different color. It was beautifully drawn and the person who drew it had a great deal of talent. Emerald's younger self was easy to see due to the wolf tail, pointed ears and the grin on her face was the same she wore on her face now. Her younger self being sketched in a light green and looking like quite the little trouble maker even from the drawing. She wore overalls and had her short with a tiny green dragonfly barrette in it.
There were two other kids in the sketch, the younger one was rather small even for a child of 5 years old behind securely wrapped in Emeralds arms was sketched in red and had large fox ears. The little one was absolutely adorable, with her tail curled around herself, looking rather content in her older sisters arms. She wore a little t shirt with little shorts with lightening bolts on them and her straight hair went a little bit passed her shoulders.
The oldest one looked around 14 and was a startling beautiful young woman wearing a long dress, with curly hair and angelic features who gazed at her younger sisters with a pleasant smile on her face. She had no animal features to speak of like her younger sisters, but in an odd way it seemed she was content with that.
There were two adults in the drawing as well, the woman being sketched in a dark green and the man in in silver. The woman also had a grin on her face that mirrored Emerald's perfectly and it soon became obvious where the oldest got her good looks from upon looking at the woman. Though she wasn't startling she was still a beautiful woman with soft gentle looking features, despite her more canine look than most humans, made her look like she wouldn't hurt a fly if it landed on her soup. She had long curly hair and wore a flowing skirt with a puffed up shirt. However, oddly enough the child that bore most resemblance to her mother was Emerald, who seemed to have the same shape of face, eyes, nose and looked more canine than her other two sisters. It should be noted though that the woman did have a tail from some sort of dog as well, making it obvious she was a mutant, despite her husband being obviously human.
The man in the sketch was long and lean with short hair that reached a little ways passed his ears. He wore a denim jacket, shirt and pants that all looked a bit to big for him to wear. He looked absolutely ecstatic to be hugging his wife and looked like a happy, man indeed. His face seemed to mirror that of his youngest in that innocent gleeful grin. The youngest also had his eyes as well as his nose, cheeks and face all onto that adorable face. The oldest seemed to get the best of the two parents and with much examination it would be easy to see which part she got from whom. In the drawing, the entire family seemed to be just happy and having a fun time just being with each other.
Emerald smiled at the picture a bit with that grin that resembled her mothers in the picture. “Yeah I have sort of a soft spot for my family. Especially my baby sister Ruby and this picture is the best one I have of us all together so I will take it if I am gonna get stranded.”
Emerald passed the magazine over to Henri, signaling her to pick the next thing to ask. She stealthily took some chips from the bag, munching on them contently.
(*breathes heavily* Okay, its a full sketch, no color except what each family member Is drawn in. Just in case I didn't make it clear, also the denim jacket in the picture, exact same as ems.))

Twyla got the distinct impression that Henri wouldn’t last very long on a deserted island if all she was bringing was lighter fluid and a pan. The pan would be really useful since it had a couple of different uses but once the lighter fluid ran out the brunette would be in trouble until she learned how to make fire on her own. Twyla just smiled at the response and didn’t comment–to each their own and all that. Oh, and they were playing a game...no use getting weirdly critical over a silly game.
Emerald’s response surprised the blonde girl. Well, not the whole thing (a machete and some rope were pretty normal things), just the picture she retrieved from her pocket. The smile on her face that had been pleasantly amused was now soft and gooey due to all the family love that was suddenly in the room. It was cool of Emerald to give up one survival item so that she could take a sketch that was important to her.
{i}Isn’t family a survival item?{/I] Something dark and sad curled around Twyla’s insides, but she chose to ignore it by looking at the sketch in the other girl’s hand. It was of a family, obviously Emerald’s and although each person looked unique you could tell that they were related and they were happy with each other. The thing around her stomach clenched and as she looked at the sketch and the girl had to swallow down the sudden tears that were fighting for control of her features.
Her voice was oddly low and slightly hoarse when she replied: “That’s really cool, Emerald.” There were more things she wanted to say but her voice was too soft by the end of the phrase that she had to stop and collect herself.
Emerald held out a sketch for the other two girls to look at. It was a family, Em’s family. Henrietta looked at the picture. It was very well drawn and everyone looked very happy. The brunette continued to look at it for a moment. It seemed that the wolf girl had two sisters. Henri had no siblings and she had no idea who her father was. Her mother refused to talk about him and would get very angry if the girl asked of him.
Twyla seemed to get a little choked up. Rapunzel felt bad for her. She knew that the girl had a few siblings and couldn’t imagine how much she missed them. All of this talk about family had made her eyes begin to burn. Surprised, she reached up to touch her own face. A tear had run down and left a wet streak. Henri hurriedly wiped at it. Why am I crying? An image of her mom flashed in her mind.
The thought of her mother made her both angry and sad. She missed aspects of their relationship. She mostly missed the part before they learned she was a mutant. They had had a pretty normal mother-daughter bond before. They’d do things together on weekends and then have stupid fights. It was weird how you could even miss stupid fights once they were gone.
The magazine was now in the brunette’s hands and she scanned the list. She laughed at the one she decided to do. They needed something to lighten the mood, in her opinion. “Alright, would you rather be naked in public or randomly blurt embarrassing secrets in large crowds?”
Realization hit Emerald like a bullet train when she thought of the fact that not all mutants at the mansion had something to remember their parents by. In fact most mutants she had met had been thrown out of their houses because they were mutants. Cursing herself and all of her sentimental self the wolf girl'ss face flooded with guilt almost immediately.
“I'm Sorry I messed up didn't I? Aw man Im sorry guys!” Emerald told them, her voice dripping with remorse and guilt. It had been a stupid move to do that and now she was afraid something bad was going to happen.
Luckily though, Henri quickly changed the subject allowing the once panicking wolf girl to relax a little. Emerald's answer didn't take to long as she thought of the horrible thought of herself running around naked. She already hated being nude after her third form was done anyways so why in the world would she want to run around naked in public in the first place? Emerald tucked a stray strand of crimson hair behind a pointy ear, finding herself for a brief moment lost in her own thoughts.Thoughts of what drove her to not like showing off scarred part of her upper torso made her cling onto her jacket for a brief moment. Wether she was quick enough to notice was depending on if they glanced at her hands in that brief moment.
“I would rather spurt out secrets, no doubt. I don't want to run around naked, its just embarrassing for me at least.” Emerald explained to them

In seconds the wolf girl’s face was twisted up in something akin to guilt. “Ohmygosh! Emerald you didn’t say anything wrong! You were just being honest.” Twyla pulled herself from melancholy thoughts of her family to comfort the other girl. A friendly pat on the back was meant to convey nothing but happy feelings. “Don’t worry about it, sweets.” Her smile was normal and cheerful again and she felt bad for not hiding her emotions better if it meant Emerald being unhappy.
Henri had the good sense and forward thinking to pick out another question and fire it off before anyone could get lost in their misery...or at least before Twyla could get lost in miserable thoughts of the awkwardness with her family.
Brown eyes grew confused for a moment after Henri asked her question and Emerald tensed up in some kind of self hug. She decided not to ask, there were just too many things people didn’t want to bring to the surface–she didn’t want to be a prying person. In any case, the other girl answered a second later and any confusion was pushed from her mind as she pondered the implications of both options.
“Hmmm....I think I’m gonna go with secrets too, I don’t have many of them so I don’t think that would ruin my life...” Twyla trailed off as she tried to think of any major secrets she had. Besides being a mutant they were few and far between.
Emerald apologized and Twyla patted her on the back. Henrietta gave the girl a huge smile. "Twyla's right. There's nothing to worry about." The brunette had been thinking about her mother, but had stopped as soon as the girl felt bad. She wasn't going to let her mother make her unhappy and ruin making a new friend. No freakin' way.
Maybe this was a bad question too, she thought when Em seemed to hug herself. If it had bothered her at all, she rebounded very quickly. Henri gave a small sigh of relief. Henri, you need to be careful what you say and do around new people. Knowing Twyla a while, she knew what would probably be okay, but she didn't know much about Emerald yet.
Both girls said they'd rather spout secrets. Henrietta tapped her chin in thought. She had secrets. They weren't huge or anything, but they were still secrets. On the other hand, she would be streaking everywhere. Streaking sound much, much more embarrassing. "I'm going to have to agree with you, ladies. I'd much rather be a fountain of secret knowledge than a nudist."
Holding out the paper to Twyla, she leaned back against her bed. She smiled at both girls and took a drink of soda. Yay for sugary beverages!
Emerald looked relived to say the least, the poor wolf girl had been so worried she had said something wrong it was a wonder she didn't have a heart attack. Em was glad she didn't offend them in any way or make them unhappy because she was really enjoying this whole thing. It was nice to talk to people her own age around the mansion for once. It was also nice the fact they weren't scared of her in any way. She was sort of used to the people at the mansion being intimidated by her and while this would be perfectly fine if she wasn't trying to make friends, since she was trying to make friends, this situation really sucked for her. Though, neither girl seemed to mind her more wolfish appearance and that made her really happy. Her tail wagged instinctively gleeful grin on her face.
“Thanks guys, I was worried for a second there I didnt want to make the mood any less cheerful. Hell, its starting to make me all giddy and happy. This is one of the most relaxed day I have had in a long time” Emerald told them with that grin still on her face. The wolf girl tilted her head to the side and looked at Henri. “What sort of soda is that your drinking anyways? Im not much of a soda drinker but If its Root Beer I may steal some from you.”
Emerald streched her legs a little before putting them back in her former position. It was nice taking a little break from the whole running 5 miles thing, it was also kinda cool to chill with people she could maybe consider friends. The wolf girl smiled, tail still wagging eagerilly as her posture relaxed a little. There was nothing quite like a break to soothe the savage beast.

It made Twyla smile when she saw how happy Emerald got as soon as she realized that neither Twyla nor Henri was upset with her. The wolf girl's tail wagged and her grin became huge, causing Twyla's own smile to expand. "I'm glad that this is so fun for you, Emerald. I'm having fun too."
Twyla made a face at the mention of root beer. "How can you drink that stuff? It grosses me out." Reaching carefully behind her, Twyla found the can of Coke she had been drinking earlier. It was kinda weird, but she liked her Coke the best when it was warm and by now it was just the right temperature for two giant gulps.
Not looking at the paper, Twyla just decided to ask a random question, she was crashing from her sugar high. "Kinda lame...favorite movie? Mine's the 'Wizard of Oz' and my second is 'Mean Girls'." Leaning back on her arms she picked up a pillow with her feet and threw it at Henri. "Oh my god karen, you're such a s**t!" She giggled like mad for a second before attempting another gulp of Coke that was never meant to be. After a few moments of struggling, the girl decided she could spill all over herself if she followed through with the drink.
Henrietta grinned at Emerald. It was awesome that she was enjoying their company so much. The brunette loved getting to know people and she was starting to like Emmy quite a bit. “I’m glad that you’re having fun too, both of you. This has been very cool. We should hang out again sometime after this.” The 16 year-old had been pretty happy since getting here. She had made some friends that didn’t care what she was. It was different for her, but amazing.
Henri glanced down at her soda pop.”No, it’s not, I’m afraid. I do like root beer though. There may be one in the kitchen fridge, if you’re interested.” The girl smiled at Emerald and then listened as Twyla talked about how gross root beer was. Henrietta laughed. “To each their own, I suppose. I don’t mind it, but I do love Pepsi. It’s my favorite.” She held up her can.
The next question was about their favorite movies. Twyla said she liked Mean Girls. Henrietta laughed. “That IS a good movie.” A pillow smacked her, so she took it and sat on it. Hmm…My favorite movie? There’s so many good ones. Henri tapped her chin and contemplated her answer. “I think I’m going to have to say that I like Parent Trap, the version with the two Lindsay Lohans. I’ve liked it for so long that I have to pick it.” She didn’t care if it seemed lame. It was true.
They were glad she was hanging out with them which was defiantly one for Emerald’s scoreboard in her head. Emerald 1, Idiots who judged her 0. The werewolf smiled happily at the two, tat tail of hers sstill thumping on the floor. It was great to finally make some friends after all this time being Miss Renegade X man, the lone wolf, she actually had some friends to call her own.
“Oh that’s an easy one, Balto and Die Hard.” Emerald told them, nodding confidently. The female absolutely adored the Balto movie and Die hard was her ideal Christmas flick, despite the fact it didn’t really have the Christmas theme to it too much. It was still a nice looking younger Bruce Willis kicking all forms of ass and that was good enough for Emmy.
This was when the wolf girl felt her cell phone buzzing in her pocket, apprantly she had a text from Ruby, asking if she wanted to go meet her for lunch after her work out. The wolf girl had forgotten about that and grinned sheepishly.
“Sorry about that, just got a text from my baby sister she wants to meet me for lunch and there is no way Im missing a chance to eat more food. Thanks for letting me chill with you guys and I hope to see yall around.” Emerald told them before getting up and leaving the room

Their taste in movies varied greatly, but Twyla had flashes in her mind of a movie night of some kind. It might be a slightly schizophrenic evening, but the selections might even each other out. Hmm...It has possibilities...
Suddenly, Emerald pulled out her phone and told the other two that she had a text from her sister and she'd be leaving to go to lunch with her. "Um, okay. Have fun! Bye Emerald." Soon the wolf girl was gone, leaving Henri and Twyla alone once more.
"Well, I think that's my cue too." The blond stretched herself out on the floor, but made no real move to get up. A deep sigh erupted from her chest. She giggled for a moment as she lay on the hard floor amidst the food packages, pillows, and magazines. "I think I'm crashing, Henri. Help me up?"
