The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Continuing her search, she picked pieces of clothing up and set them gently next to the drawer if they weren't the ones she was looking for. Henrietta would hate to have to refold them at a later date, so she wouldn't mess them up. It would save time in rhe future, she thought. The wierd thing was that the rest of her room was a little trashed, but that didn't bother her at all. It was too late to be prevented which meant it wasn't a big deal. She had had a large part in the mess-making, anyway.
When she had found the desired items, she set them on her bed. It was time to change into something a bit more ..random.
Emerging from her room, she wore something comletely different from what she usually would. She didn't own many things like this, since the skirt was picked out by her mother. Henri twirled so the other girls could see it. After the twirl, she broke into a part of an old jazz routine. She laughed.
Emerald found it funny that Twyla was asking all these questions about how weird it was for people ot pet her as well as her little ramblings on about her nieghbor’s dog and such. Though, Emerald was still in wolf form though so a good deal of these more human like thoughts often descended into. ‘Yay I’m being pet.’.
That was the strange thing about being in her wolf form, sometimes she would get thoughts that were clearly that of her Lupine side. She couldn’t exactly help it ether, one minute she was having completely coherent thoughts and the next she was wondering when her next hunt was. Being the Lupin sister the most in touch with her animal side, had its up points and down points, but she didn’t mind it a lot of times. She enjoyed her wolf form immensely and always had fun being in it.
Eventually, Emerald backed out of the petting hand and morphed back into her human form, just so she wouldn’t have to talk like Scooby Doo, or something closely resembling him
“Don’t worry about it Twyla, I don’t mind the whole petting thing as long as I’m in wolf form. Also, most people don’t pet me, they typically scream and run when they see me wandering about, I keep forgetting I’m huge compared to a normal house dog.” Emerald explained, sniffing the air a little bit. Her nose told her that Henrietta was about to emerge from the room and she was right, not that surprising though.
She was starting to memorize her new friends scents, not intentionally of course, but it was a habit she had in order to identify people if they were planning on sneaking up on her. So there was no surprise when Henrietta came out of her room in her new outfit.
Emerald laughed a little at Henri and looked at the two girls. “Looking cool you two. But Unless you guys count my wolf form as a outfit, im sorry but I have no cool looking outfits to change into.”
The wolf girl did find it strange that they kept changing their outfits, but she didn't know exactly that much about what one was supposed to act like, so this whole thing was a learning experience for her.

The petting halted as soon as the head receiving the pets retreated. Twyla’s hand made it’s way back to her side as Emerald made her way back to human form. The wolf girl regained the use of her vocal chords (or chose to use them again, Twyla wasn’t sure which). She nodded as the other girl spoke, a bit of relief coursing through her. “Well, I’m glad it’s all good. Petting seemed awkward if I thought about it.” She smiled, anything weird in the moment had passed and Twyla was comfortable again.
A moment later Henrietta reemerged from her room wearing a skirt that Twyla was instantly jealous of. When Henri came out the door she twirled and then did some jazz steps and Twyla couldn’t help bursting out in a totally stereotypical ‘stupid mean girl’ tone: “Oh my gawd, Henri, you’re such a showoff!”She giggled to show that she was kidding, hoping neither of the other girls would assume that she wasn’t.
Emerald complimented the girls on their outfits and Twyla laughed. “I’m pretty sure turning into a wolf totally tops giant orange socks.” She paused and looked at Henri’s skirt again. “Although, I think Henri’s skirt is a contender. That’s intensely adorable, Rapunzel” Twyla’s grin was one of approval.
Since there was nothing extra-special about the hallway anymore Twyla decided to suggest that the trio adjourned to the domicile of the princess. “Sooo, how about we go back to the random survey thing in Henri's room, if you still want to hang with us, Emerald?”
Emerald now looked human again. Henrietta smiled at both girls. The blonde sounded mean, but she could tell she was kidding by the giggling afterwards. The brunette laughed too. It was a convincingly good mean-girl voice. Twyla eyed Henri’s skirt and complimented her on it. “Thanks. My mom got it for me. You can totally borrow it sometime if you want. I may have been an only child, but I got the sharing concept down.” She chuckled.
“Yeah, I agree with Twyla. Wolf form kind of trumps all, I think. Besides, you can always play dress-up with my clothes, if you want.” Henrietta gave the wolf-girl a small, friendly smile. Twyla invited Emerald to hang out with them and Henri was in agreement. “That’s a great idea.” Opening the door to her bedroom, she held her arms out, as if to present it. “Please come in, ladies.”
Walking back into her room, she headed straight to her boom-box. Rapunzel picked up a CD and put it in. Waiting for it to wake up a bit, she tapped her foot. After the stereo showed the number of tracks, Henri pushed play. “Everything’s Changing” by Lily Allen started playing. “I love this song. It reminds me of high school. It makes me feel better sometimes.”
Sitting down on the floor, she grinned. “So what do you ladies want to do?” Henrietta pulled out a pile of magazines in case anyone wanted to look at them. Some of them were older, but they still had little quizzes and whatnot in them.
Emerald couldn’t help but arch a brow at Twyla’s mean girl voice. Not that she never heard a voice like that before, it was just she hadn’t expected the blonde to say anything in a tone like that. She quickly figured out that the girl was joking but it was still rather jarring to hear that voice, that and the voice kind of made Emerald want to say her ears were bleeding from the sheer irritation that voice caused her.
“Sure I’ll hang out, I have sort of always wanted to hang out with people my age. Being an X man and all didn’t use to give me a lot of time for socialization.” Emerald replied, a little disappointment ebbing in her voice at the end.
The wolf girl really had never associated with people her age who actually wanted to talk to her. Typically she was used the whole, ‘run away’ bit she got because of her rather intimidating look. So it was nice to have some sort of relationship with others, hell maybe she would make friends easier now that she was on a bit of a hiatus from the X men.
She followed after Henrietta in her room and picked her own spot on the floor, sitting down. Em had never heard the song before but it sounded alright to her so she nodded vaguely in agreement with Henri, though she never exactly went to High school so she didn’t know if this song was like it or not.
“Hey Whatever you guys want to do Im cool with, like I said Im new to the whole hanging out thing.” Emerald told them, looking at the covers of the magazines, trying to see if there was any normal looking women on them.
(sorry it took so long, college started back up again and I keep falling asleep midpost! Sorry Its not the best too, my brain went bla)

Emerald was an X-man? That was interesting. “Yay. Let’s make up for lost time then.” Twyla followed Henrietta and Emerald into Henri’s room and watched her change CDs. “I think Keane did this first, it’s a good jam.I can't believe I just used the word 'jam'.” Nate had always liked bands like Keane, so it stood to reason that she’d know a few of their songs being his younger sister and all that. Although, Nate’s favorite band of all time was the Beatles, something he and his friends argued about a lot when they allowed Twyla to hang out with them in Nate’s room.
Twyla took Henri’s lead and plopped herself down on the floor. She pulled the paper that they’d printed off and picked another question at random. “Alright...let’s see here...Kinda lame but: beauty or brains? It can be in yourself or other people, I really don’t care.” Twyla placed the piece of paper back on the floor and reached to her right to grab the stash of sour gummy worms that was hidden there.
Sour gummy bears were Twyla’s Achilles heel, she LOVED them in all caps. Which is why she ripped the bag open and plopped two of them in her mouth in under twenty seconds. Candy was the best thing ever.
Twyla agreed that it was a good song and Emerald didn’t seem to mind it, so Henri left it on. Henrietta’s mouth dropped slightly when she learned that the shifter was an X-Man. “That’s amazing. Did it take a long time?” She had a hint of curiosity in her voice. The brunette was curious as to what it entailed, but decided not to ask any more questions. She wasn’t sure what the girl thought about the situation. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to be nosy.”
The blonde pulled out the question sheet again. The question was beauty or brains and she said it didn’t matter if it was personal or about others. Henrietta thought for a moment. She did care about her looks, but she wouldn’t trade her intelligence for it and other people’s appearances weren’t a huge deal to her. People who weren’t very bright at all also had a tendency to annoy her. She would never show it or say it, but it was true. “Brains. I’d rather be smart and plain-looking than dumb as a rock and beautiful.” She smiled.
Henri watched as Twyla popped gummy bears very, very fast and she grinned. “That’s very impressive.” Remembering something, she turned and grabbed a bag of chips. “Anybody else like sour cream and onion chips? I’m willing to share.” She shook the bag.
Listening to the facts about how the song was written by another person first made Emerald smiled a little bit. It seemed that a lot of old songs were getting redone these days but as long as no one touched Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses, Emerald was happy. At least she didn’t think that anyone had redone it yet, that’s what she thought and hoped that is.
Henri’s inquiry of how long it took to get into the X men wasn’t nosy in the wolf girl’s opinion, just curious. She was actually glad to share the accomplishment she made when she was allowed to be in the X men.
“No worries Henri, it did take a bit but that was only because I was underage technically when I joined the team. I joined as a member when I was fifteen and I became fully fledged when I was 16 after a bunch of training sessions and solo missions." Emerald shrugged as if it was no big deal
The question from the girly magazine was a surprise Emerald didn’t think that intelligent questions came out of magazines like those. But perhaps she was far too cynical to read magazines like Vouge or Seventeen or anything like that.
“Brains, Beauty is only skin deep and if ya got a beautiful soul no ones gotta look at you’re face to know youre a beautiful person.” Emerald explained, reaching her hand to grab some chips from Henri.

So that was one vote for brains. And one vote for chips. Twyla liked chips as well as gummy worms but she liked sour gummy worms so much more and therefore shook her head when offered some of the delicious smelling junk food. Then there was a vote for the X-men. Emerald’s achievement at a young age was very cool to Twyla, considering she wanted to become a trainee at some point. Emerald shrugged it off, so Twyla resisted her initial urge which was to say: ‘Wow, that’s totally awesome.’
Another vote for brains was added to the pile. A very eloquent, nice sounding vote for brains for that matter. It seemed like it was Twyla’s turn and even if it wasn’t, she was going to go anyway: “Alright, let me say that I agree with both of you. Beauty is only skin deep and all that and brains will get you farther when you get older but I also have an argument for the other side. I appreciate me some beautiful boys. If I had to choose a date that will only ever be one date, no relationship or anything I’d much rather have a hunk of burning hotness than someone with flowing conversation.” Twyla laughed at how terrible her response sounded. “I know that’s bad, but still.”
“Your turn.” She passed the piece of paper to Henrietta so she could pick out their next question.
Henrietta listened as Emerald as she told them how she became an X-Man and then her opinion in the beauty vs.brains debate. The brunette smiled as she listened to her talk. Then Twyla was next. Henri laughed when she mentioned the boy thing. "I can totally agree with that. He could only be dumb if we went on one date otherwise I may flip out at some point. Beauty can only save a relationship for so long." She knew what the blonde had meant when she said it was bad. People should be looked at beyond that, but if it was only the one date....
The piece of paper with questions was passed to Henri. Taking a chip out of the bag, she began to nibble on it. Looking down the list, she tried to find a good one that her and Twyla hadn't done earlier. "Hmm...Let's see what I can find..." Continuing her search, she scanned the sheet. When she came to a stupid one, she would say, "uh-uh" and then look to the next. Grabbing another chip absent-mindedly, she put it into her mouth and began to chew. She swallowed it and then read what she had found. "Here we go. Do you want to have lots of kids, a couple kids, or no kids when you get older?"
Setting the sheet down again, she smiled at both girls and waited for an answer.
Emmy had to admit, she agreed with Twyla she did appreciate some nice looking boys, then again all of the nice looking males had screwed her over in one way or another so maybe it would be best if she didn’t mention her own experiences as of yet. “Yeah I agree with the both of ya, both of ya make good points.” Emerald took another couple chips from the bag and chomped on them eagerly.
Em hated to admit it but she was rather interested to see what was in these magazines, the fact she never looked at one before made her rather curious. The redhead tilted her head to the side at the next question, never really thinking about it before. Worry creeped on her features as she thought of her kids having the same wonked out genes she did, that worried stayed as she thought of the things that happened to her because of her genetic make up. Quickly, Emerald wiped the worried look from her face and let out a soft sigh, having a bit of a hard time hiding her worry.
“If My genes aren’t too screwy to have kids, then I would like a boy and a girl. And I hope they take after the father to a certain degree because the last thing the world needs is another rebellious teen Hydrokenetic Werewolf.” Emerald stated, a laugh creeping in her voice. The thought of her ‘pups’ was a hilarious one indeed, especially if they were little hellions like she was. At the moment, the wolf girl tried her best warding off any sad thoughts from her mind. There was no way she was going to let past screw around with her actually making friends and socializing.

Henri’s question had to do with kids. When she looked to Emerald, it seemed like she was worried about something. This look was lessened, but somehow not totally gone, very quickly before the wolf girl began to speak. What was up with that? She decided not to push explanation of the look so as not to make the other girl uncomfortable.
Twyla laughed at the image of crazy kids with fur and water manipulation powers. “That would definitely be a handful.” The girl felt for someone who had to babysit mutant children that came into their powers early.
“I guess I’ve always wanted a large family. I grew up in one and all that...but this world is crazy, and I would feel so guilty bringing mutant children into a world that doesn’t understand or appreciate them. I guess if I had my way I’d have maybe five or six kids, but that would only be if people were more tolerant. How about you, Henri?”
Twyla Ashby had always always always wanted a family as large as the one her parents had. The only thing she’d change was how close her children were in age. She seemed to get along better with her brother Nate because they were only two years apart. Having a large family, decent house, and amazing husband were all on her list of things to do before she turned forty (although some of those goals fell into the before-I’m-thirty category).
Emerald look concerned. Feeling guilty, Henri glanced at the question on the paper again. Maybe that was a bad choice, she thought. Sometimes the brunette forgot how complicated everything was when you were a mutant. She just assumed that she'd always have kids and get married. Well, maybe not in that order, but still...
Breaking her silent train of thought, she listened to both girls speak. Emerald wanted a boy and a girl if they took after somone who's powers weren't so...dangerous? It sounded like Twyla wanted a large family if the planet wasn't a bad place for them to live. Henri could understand that. She thought of her mother. It was wierd how most paths lead back to the woman who had gotten rid of her. If she had known, would she still have wanted me?
The question was then asked to Rapunzel. She smiled. "I would like a bigger family too, like 4 kids. I love kids and I'd like to think I'd love mine no matter what. If they were mutant or human or whatever they may turn out as. I feel the same as you, Twyla. I'd want the world to be a safe, fun place for them to be." Remembering some of her past experiences as being a mutant, she nodded. "Safe at the very least. If they turned out to be mutants, which they'd have a good chance of, the world would have to make some changes."
Emmy had a feeling that the other girls would say something along those lines and in truth she was happy they wanted to be smart enough to bring their kids in a word where being a mutant wasn't as much of a problem. She missed the old days when she was just a wee puppy and being a mutant according to her mother was that she was special and that specialness was something no one could take away from her. She would have much rather to be special at the moment then not because now, she felt like she could actually do something more about the growing signs of crime in the city. No longer could she help the grin that split her face confidentially.
“Well, thats what we X men are for is it not and by the time I retire from the super heroing biz, I bet you we will have cleaned up the world quite nicely. Or at least I will try to make sure it happens by the time everyone of us 'kids' decides to have young ones of our own.” Emerald explained with all confidence in her voice.

Henrietta agreed with her about kids. They both wanted bigger families and they were both concerned about what kind of world they’d be bringing a family into. But that made sense. It’d be irresponsible to bring someone into a world that wouldn’t accept them for who they were. It wasn’t something Twyla liked to think about, but it was the truth. Emerald’s reaction to the question was a bit different. She grinned and began to speak confidently about the X-men and how she was going to make the world better before any of them started having kids. The confidence in her voice made Twyla smile as well.
“Things’ll get better.” Twyla nodded at Emerald. “That’s the best thing about people, no matter how much the suck sometimes they’re always changing. Eventually someone will translate the idea that humans and mutants are equal and the same into something that most people get and then...things’ll get better.” The girl shrugged before popping another gummy worm into her mouth.
Since the blonde was afraid things would go from their light talk to something with more intense emotions she reached across the floor to snatch up the piece of paper that hadn’t gotten passed on. “Would you rather wear ugly shirts or ugly pants for the rest of your life? I’m talking, like, hideous-not-ever-cute-ever pants and tops.” Once they went around again she’d pass the paper to Emerald, seeing as she’d detoured around the wolf girl’s turn to pick on accident.
