The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

After the grand re-opening of Full Circle Sam had not even once visited the store, had he wanted to? Yes! Was he fat to busy with life to spend a few minutes heading to Full Circle? Yes! Over and over again every time he had thought about the store and had a free moment he had made his way to his car but every time to his displeasure something had always come up. But today wasn’t like every other day. Today he had time and today he was walking into full circle determined to look a round or at least see where his friends Ghost and Shin and of course his brother from his understanding was the bottom of the totem pole there which he had approved of. It was high time Dom learned how to learn the value of the dollar and what it was like to work.
As he entered the bookstore a smell of coffee and books filled his nostrils as he nonchalantly took in a quick whiff. Looking around to see if anyone he knew was working Sam took a step past the register and nodded slightly to the person walking the register, he didn’t know her but from her expression she might have had mistake him as Dom. Some see the resemblance others don’t and he didn’t stick around long to figure out what she thought.
Walking into the self help books Sam browsed for a moment or two before turning his attention to a Yoga book or two, yes he read self help books on occasion they often helped in his reasoning with others and he on occasion skimmed a yoga book or two seeing as Alex had a particular interest in it. He had no intention of asking her to join him for Yoga but if she asked him he figured it was better to be safe than sorry and know a few things so he didn’t feel like an idiot when he didn’t know what a child’s pose was.
Yoga for idiots and a novel by the name of ‘Way of the peaceful warrior’ Sam was content for now at least with his book selection. After making a purchase and being questioned about his resemblances to a young coworker Sam smiled, informed and then made his way to the coffee bar section where a few tables were scattered about with teens and adults of all ages reading their selection of purchases and or studying for their next midterm.
Reading the nametag at the coffee bar Sam smiled and said, ”Hey could I get a large green tea and a chocolate chip cookie?” the mans smiled and acknowledged him with, “You look familiar,” with a smile Sam just said, ”Just have one of those faces” handing him a five Sam let without the change and headed to the nearest open table, with no hurry in his walk as he took a sip of his tea, not really paying attention to where he was going.

Studying at the Full Circle Bookstore was something that Kealey had really taken a liking to since remembering the little shop that was quite close to where she went to school. It was funny how walking distances seemed to shorten themselves after one lived in New York for a while. More than anything, the Full Circle was full of people who were usually content. Nobody walked into an accorded neutral zone between mutants and humans if they didn’t have at least a healthy dose of inner peace in their possession. If it hadn’t been for the lecherous fiend of a coffee boy who worked behind the counter, it would have been a perfect place. As it was, Kealey had thus far refrained from action in the man’s direction, settling for her best nun look when his emotions got out of line.
The small, round table the blonde was sitting at was covered with papers and sketches. There was far more studying and homework involved in a fashion design degree than Kealey had thought possible, but now that she was starting to actually make things…it all felt right. There was one problem though, things were getting kind of cramped in Jacen’s apartment.
It wasn’t that Kealey was unhappy with the close proximity, or that she was ungrateful that he’d given her somewhere to stay after her apartment had burned. It was just that it didn’t seem like there was enough space for her to work out of one small guest room…and the blond had a feeling that Jacen would have a problem with his living room being turned into a sewing studio. Which was why a folded newspaper was bundled in amongst the sketches and study notes on the table, and it was open to the rentals section. Kealey wasn’t looking at it, though, she was people watching.
It was something that the blond had picked up after coming to New York, a simple kind of practice for her abilities, and something she still enjoyed doing from time to time. In this case, unlike many others, it was a calming experience, simply letting the emotions wash over her. It helped, when she was working on school work. Kealey took a deep contented breath and sighed happily, just as a man walked by. He looked completely unconcerned with the world, and on second, closer glance, he really was.
”Hello.” the blond said, surprising herself as she spoke and giving a friendly smile to cover that surprise.

On the way to his destination he passed a cluttered table full of paper, fabrics and drawings, which for a brief moment demanded his attention. Though he didn’t break his pace as he passed the table and the blonde sitting at it he looked up to his destination and was for a brief moment was confused, hearing the voice and knowing to respond to it were two completely different things. Turning his head to face the woman at the table Sam stopped and looked around to make sue she was indeed saying hello to him.
Did he know her? It was possible that Dom had done something to this woman and she was only saying something because she could have mistaken him for Dom. ”uhh….Hey!” Sam said slightly confused by her sudden greeting. From what he could tell she seemed as surprised with her sudden greeting as he was. Returning her smile with a genuine but confused one of his own he smiled, ”Interesting drawings you’ve got there…” Sam said with a smile trying to make things less awkward by trying to transition the conversation to something.
Taking a sip from his scalding hot tea Sam blew on it for a moment his mutation activating making the scalding hot tea bathwater warm. Letting out a refreshing gasp Sam looked back to the papers in front of the woman and said, ”Fashion?” Sam asked curiously.

Kealey had been hoping that the man would simply walk past, even though she’d said hello to him. It was one of those situations where the friendly atmosphere of the shop had taken over, and it really was quite embarassing. Talking to a complete stranger like that, really! Kealey stopped admonishing herself, though, she’d met some of her best friends…and Jacen by accidently pouncing on them in public situations. Maybe this would be similar.
The man was large, and Kealey had to admit that he was well built, with dark hair and eyes that mirrored the color of Kealey’s own. He was younger than her, but moved with confidence most people a decade older struggled to maintain. It was in his emotions too, the confidence, as well as surprise and a few other things that Kealey simply wasn’t going to pay attention to at the moment. She had to make this man realize that she wasn’t some psychopath.
He was confused now, and he commented on her drawings while Kealey tried to puzzle out exactly what she needed to say to make the situation less awkward. ”Oh…thank you.” she said, blushing scalret to the roots of her blond hair. This wasn’t working out at all how it was supposed to. Kealey gestured at the seat across from her, ”Do you want to have a seat....” she said, then winced at the words, she was getting weirder by the moment, ”I’m sorry for the sudden greeting…in case you were wondering, you don’t know me from Adam, or I you.” she said by way of explanation. ”It’s just that the atmosphere in this place is so friendly sometimes…I can’t help myself. I’m Kealey.”
He’d asked about the drawings after complimenting them, and she nodded her head in retrospect, “Yes, fashion. Well, design school, but I suppose that’s kind of the same thing.” She looked around the bookstore and then back at her new aquaintance. ”Do you come here often?”

Feeling the gaze from the woman Sam blinked once and then nodded to her blush as he sat down when the seat was offered to him. Still confused about the situation Sam looked back at the drawings and then looked to the woman. He smiled trying to mask his confusion as he took a sip of his drink before he tilted his head. ”It’s alright, I like meeting new people through sudden greetings.” he let out a small laugh as he again easily became confused wondering who Adam was.
Trying to become less confused Sam decided he would introduce himself like he would during any meeting. Placing his tea on the table and his bag down to his side Sam extended his hand and offered it to Kealey, ”Sam,” he said simply before putting his hand back on his tea to pick it up and enjoy another sip.
The next question Sam thought to be somewhat funny, did he come here often? No, but he should have and the fact that he hasn’t in forever made things that much more amazing that Ghost hasn’t brained him yet. Speaking of ghost he was going to have to give her a call soon, after all he hadn’t seen her sense he left the bar with those two girls.
”Not as often as I would like, though if I could help it, I plan on coming her more often seeing as my brother, and two of my friends work here.” taking a sip of his drink and looking to Kealey he smiled again ready to carry on the conversation, ”How about you? I’d imagine this is a quite enough place to get your studies done.”

He was even more confused, and Kealey wondered if it was possible that her blush was getting even deeper than it already had been. It didn’t seem possible, but with the way her cheeks were burning, it wouldn’t have been a surprise. Not at all. The gentleman didn’t seem to be too caught off guard, and she smiled at the genuine feelings she could feel when he commented that he liked to meet people in random ways.
He offered his hand and Kealey took it, smiling as he introduced himself. Now she did know him from Adam. That seemed to make things a little better, that and the fact that the man didn’t really feel bothered by what she was doing. In fact, he really was happy to meet her, if still a little confused by the way the conversation had started out.
As to being a regular, it seemed like Sam didn’t have the opportunity to visit the Full Circle often, but he did have more connections in the shop than was ordinary. His brother worked there? Kealey looked toward the man working behind the coffee bar, and her eyes involuntarily narrowed slightly. The feelings that often came from that area of the shop were less than savory. Kealey didn’t like him, and had to clench her teeth to smile every time she ordered from him. It didn’t matter though, not really, he did his job well, and when he wasn’t being a leech…he was a happy guy.
Kealey looked at the two, Sam was built similarly, if a little bigger through the chest, but the face, eyes and hair were all wrong. Kealey couldn’t help but wonder who the sibling was…surely not Shin. They’d spoken several times and Shin had never mentioned a brother. Kealey tilted her head, ”Who is your sibling? I’m in here quite often and don’t remember seeing anyone who looks enough like you to be a sibling..and who are your friends?.”
Realizing she was being rude, Kealey snatched her purse from the chair next to her and pushed it out, ”Why don’t you have a seat, no reason for you to stand while we chat…and as to quiet…I’m not exactly studying. I’m apartment hunting. My current situation is a little cramped and I’m imposing on someone I don’t want to cause any trouble. It is quiet though, I come here often to work….lots of good fashion inspiration here.”

Nodding his head slightly as she removed her purse from the chair and pushed it out for him Sam smiled kindly and lowered himself into the seat, why wouldn’t he after all it wasn’t like he couldn’t read later and random encounters were often more enjoyable than a few words of a book. Raising one hand close to the side of his head after he lowered his books onto the floor by his new seat Sam demonstrated how tall his brother was compared to himself.
”My brother’s name is Dom, little shorter than my self, little runtier as well, though we have the same eyes and similar facial features which is why I come in her everyone mistakes me for him.” letting out a small laugh as he lowered his hand onto the table Sam continued, ”Though they notice it’s me when I don’t bust out into singing “Single Ladies”"
His brother was an interesting character to say the least, their personalities were often on complete opposite ends of the spectrum but Sam guessed that had something to do with the way they were raised. Dom getting the better end of the deal was raised by their parents and Sam getting screwed with being raised as an assassin. Feeling down for a moment Sam sighed and took a sip of his tea and then shook off the thought of envy towards his younger brother, it wasn’t Dom’s fault Sam got taken and he was glad it was him opposed to Dom. Odds were Dom wouldn’t have lasted long if their places were swapped, Dom was a fighter, but he wasn’t a killer.
Continuing on with the conversation Sam pointed to the man by the counter, ”My friend Shin, is usually behind the counter whenever I have time to come her, though I think it’s his day off today, and my other friend’s name is Ghost, she actually owns the store, and seeing as she hasn’t come to greet me with a bat to the head, she is either busy with work or not here today.”
Sam grinned and took a sip of tea as he looked back to Kealey and cleared his throat and looked around for her inspiration. Not finding any Sam quirked an eyebrow and asked, ”What’s your inspiration?” sure there was a lot of things that could inspire someone, some painters fell in love with a bowl of fruit while others seek out mountains and trees, Sam doubted something as simple as shelves of books to be inspiring to this artist.

He wasn’t sitting down just to be polite, that fact was comforting to Kealey in a large way. Social faux pas were something the blond was getting used to committing, but it was still a little embarrassing when it happened. Time and practice had muted her powers a little, that or increased her control to a point where she could function in most social settings, but sometimes the emotions carried her away. This time, though, it seemed like not only was she going to escape without looking like a creep, she might make a friend.
Kealey nodded as Sam explained who his brother was and what he did in the shop. Kealey’s eyebrows drew together and she concentrated as she tried to figure out who exactly Sam was talking about. The young man wasn’t coming to mind, but Kealey was sure she’d seen him here if he worked often. ”I’m drawing a blank right now, but I’ll have to remember to keep an eye out for him.” Sam mentioned that his brother, Dom apparently, liked to sing, and Kealey chuckled. Apparently this was a younger brother.
Sam grew pensive and Kealey tilted her head at him as his emotions shifted from the open and friendly to the slightly sullen, then back again. Interesting, but not a question for the moment. Not at all.
Sam knew Shin and Kealey grinned brightly, ”Shin is fantastic! He’s helped me pick out books a few times and he’s never steered me wrong. Kealey leaned forward and her smile grew, ”And did you know that he’s responsible for that waving badger? Fantastic.”
Kealey didn’t know Ghost, but found that to be an incredibly interesting name. Considering the people she’d seen working, it was also not too large a leap of logic to assume Ghost was the waifish woman with light hair that seemed to float around the shop whenever she was present. Sam did not know the lecher behind the counter. Kealey’s opinion remained high.
Sam was looking at her sketches for class and Kealey smiled and moved the newspaper out of the way. It was almost funny now how protective she’d been of the drawings before she’d been accepted. She shrugged by in way of an answer and tapped one picture in particular, ”I saw a vine wrapped around a support beam in the park the other day, it had these pretty flowers on it. Wraps are popular right now, and I thought the flowers at the ends would be eclectic.”
Kealey shuffled some of the papers around and pulled another picture, ”In this one, form simply follows function. I have a friend who wanted a sweat suit that doesn’t look like a sweat suit. Just because something serves a function, doesn’t mean it has to be ugly. You know? I don‘t come here to find inspiration…more to get it out of my head and down on paper.”
Hoping her explanation would suffice, Kealey sipped at her drink again and nodded towards Sam, ”What about you? What do you do?”

Nodding his head to Kealey’s fact about Shin being fantastic Sam quickly threw in a comment, ”I have no idea what that is but that sounds like a title Shin would come up with.” Sam was always a fan of Shin’s out of the box thinking, a giant turtle with water jets on his back, or a giant squirrel to fight in the danger room were just a few examples Sam could think of off the top of his head which forced him to let a small laugh escape. ”I’ll have to ask him what the waving badger next time I see him.” which was most likely that night seeing as they both lived in the mansion.
Listening as Kealey explained her designs and where her inspiration came from Sam followed the papers that were out in front of him as a hand went under his chin to support his head. It was clear that she was an artist the sketches made that clear, what was also made clear was how passionate she seemed about it, which was something that Sam admired greatly. Like mutants Sam had noticed that more than a handful of artists were to embarrassed with their gifts, something Sam just didn’t understand. If you had a talent why try and hide it from others, you have a gift you should share it with everyone not hide it away like a chipmunk preparing for the winter.
Explaining her next piece of work Sam grinned slightly as she expressed her thoughts about making sweat suits look good. Sam instantly thought of the X-uniforms that he had had stuffed into his locker back at the mansion. Not only had it become warn down but it was becoming a tad to small to fit his body, most likely to his misuse of the washer and dryer. ”Now do you only do sweat suits, or are you more interested in another clothing apparel because if your interested I might be in need of a few suits myself.”
Grinning after he took a quick sip of his tea he continued, ”The reason I would need these suits is in fact because of one of my jobs.” he paused to let his comment sink in before he continued, ”One of my other jobs is that of a teacher, I actually work at a school for the gifted.” he didn’t demonstrate his mutation like he usually did not yet at least, he would however demonstrate what he meant by gifted if she seemed more interested in the idea of a possible job.
