The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

That morning had been a headache. What with the paperwork for all the students, and the filing, and the talking to teachers, and going over files for the X-men recruitment sessions, Shin had his hands full. More and more, things kept piling up.
Aurum had called, saying he'd be late for work due to a family emergency. Something about Ami at the zoo.
And the dojo had called, telling Shin they'd rejected his application. His resume simply lacked the proper experience for being a teacher there. Which sucked, because more and more he was remembering Wushu Kung-Fu moves in training scenarios. He was certain he could teach them, given the appropriate time for preparation.
The bank had called, telling him he'd gone over on his credit card charges for the month and would have to pay a fee.
The library had called, telling him he had a book overdue. Another fee.
In his haste to get to work the other day, he'd gone a little fast on his scooter down the sidewalk, rather than the ever-perilous streets of New York. He'd gotten a ticket. ANOTHER FEE!!
And ugh!! All these things added up to a migraine the size of the Hindenberg.
He shifted a stack of papers left with a sigh.
One more thing, and his whole world might come tumbling down in flames.
"Last Time on Sailor Moon Kokoro, Kokoro received a surprise visit from her favorite cousin, Tetsuya! Starling secrets were revealed, and it turned out that Tetsuya was a mutant. Kokoro herself had been suffering from mysterious head aches and thought it might had been her very own mutation, and she was right! Possessing Psionic potential, the teen wanted to learn more about her powers and become an hero just like her cousin. Will she be able to do it? Find out to day on Sailor Moon Kokoro!
She had always felt that she was different. Aside from her quirks and imitating fictional characters, Kokoro always believed she had a higher calling. She knew she wasn't meant to be just some ordinary girl doomed to live a life of boredom. A few weeks ago it was all made clear when her powers manifested, crushing the evil gang members who threatened her life. Life had been awkward after that. Her parents had been trying to be supportive, but having a teenage daughter who insisted on psionically blasting down doors and putting holes in the walls wasn't quite their cup of tea. It was decided to ship their daughter off to be trained by Tetsuya. Though she told her parents she had spoken to Shin ahead of time, but in reality she wanted it to be a surprise.
Flash forward hours later after the plane trip and the taxi ride to the mansion. A problem popped up...the building was protected by gates. Luckily, she had arrived just when a resident was leaving. Some cute blonde haired blue eyes guy....it was official. American boys were definitely hot. After said guy, who gave his name as Dominic left, Kokoro crept over to some bushes and decided to switch outfits from her civilian clothes into the cosplay of the day. The 15 year old then crept around the mansion grounds in her GaoWhite costume with the White Tiger baton toy in hand scanning the grounds. She concluded that it was a pretty nice place and so she dragged her luggage inside and headed for the offices. She remembered Shin saying he was a teacher or something. She ignored the strange looks she gathered from residents, obviously for her costume and finally found the office she was looking for. The door labeled "Tetsuya Shinbo". It was closed, but that was about to be fixed then and there.
"GAO ACCESS! SUMMON SPIRITS OF THE EARTH! " she screamed running up and kicking the door open. She tumbled rolled on the floor and then sprang back up on her feet, leaping onto Shin's desk.
""Belle Tiger!~GaoWhite! Where ever there is life, there is justice!Hyakujuu Sentai... Gaoranger!" After a pose as struck, the White ranger released a giddy squeal and twirled her baton around, pointing it to Shin's face. "Today it's your lucky day Tetsuya-san. Your new student has arrived! And she's super cute, super strong and super awesome! I missed you!" she cried. "Now where is this Sam guy who broke your arm? I believe I owe him a good skull bashing" she said twirling her baton again.

More and more, more and more.
Up until his door blasted in, Shin had been leaning back in his office chair, pondering how best to pay the many fees he'd been charged in the recent weeks.
No... that wouldn't work... and where would I get the money for the costume? And no... maybe if I applied again at the -- Thoughts trailed off into a boring drone. He tapped a blue pen against his cheek, then twirled it in his mouth. Maybe if he worked extra shifts at Full Circle? That'd bring in some much-needed--
>>"GAO ACCESS! SUMMON SPIRITS OF THE EARTH!"
Cash. The door exploded open. Shin fell onto his ass. There in front of him stood... what stood there? Huh? Huh!? WHAT WAS THAT!? Some kind of costumed heroine on drugs? A cosplaying addict jonesing for Mary Jane!? Some sort of... cousin. In cosplay. Standing over him on the... floor?
"Excuse me, what the hell!? Why is it the second I get a new office is the second you bust down its door!?" He scurried to his feet and waggled an angry finger at Kokoro. "This is why I can't have nice things. And also, why are you here today? I thought we talked with your parents about you wrapping up your term at school in Japan, and sending you over with Sasami as your guardian!? Why is it...--" He suddenly stopped. Slapped his forehead. D'oh. Here she was, fresh off the plane, and he was shouting at her. All that other shit wasn't important!! At least, not now it wasn't. "Um... welcome to America, Kokoro... how was your... flight? Hungry?"
He eyed the half-finished chili dog on his desk, beckoning to his innards like a siren to captains at sea. Maybe she'd need something edible, yeah.
"Well....we were going to go with those plans...but they shipped me off like, the day after I blew a hole in the roof...so yay! I'm here!" Kokoro grinned. Forget his nagging tone, she was pretty much used to it. Besides, she was happy to see him again. Happy to be able and come live and train under his guidance. And his food. Especially the half finished chili dog on his desk. Kokoro finished it up in less than a minute.
"Food sounds good! More of it please! And thank you!"

"Alright, then..." What to do for food. "I'm sure the kitchen has something good we could rustle up... maybe burgers? Maybe I could fry up some pancakes... where are your bags?"
He glanced around. Not a bag in sight. "I could help you bring them in. I also need to get you signed up with a room. The paperwork can wait until later... how have you been since I left?" Shin walked over to his desk and fished around for paperwork, then reached up to drag the mouse over to check vacant rooms. He found one. He reached down to grab a key from a drawer, and held it out for Kokoro. "Your room, dear."
"Burgers sound great! Kokoro screamed as she snatched the keys. Then she took off the ranger helmet and threw it behind her. She jumped at the sound of glass shattering and turned to see her helmet had gone flying out the window. The asian teen turned around chuckling nervously and scratching the back of her head. She stared at her older cousin with the look of innocence. Yes, the look. Big bright brown eyes...it always worked whenever the threat of punishment loomed over her head. At least it did when she was young and even til this day, she just had to try it out and see.
"Tetsuya-san! We're going to have so much fun! WOOT!" she screamed leaping onto Shin's back and began fiddling with his hair. "Almost as perfect as mine, but don't worry. With the right conditioner, I'm sure we can give it even more volume and shine."

"... Yeah. Windows can be replaced." Shin coughed into his fist politely. And replacing them cost money. Money he didn't quite have. It was a good thing the mansion would probably foot the bill, or else he'd be in the poor house. He walked towards the doorway. If his neck was twitching now, it was because it was cold. Yeah? Shivering. Not angry or anything, no.
"This way."
>>"Tetsuya-san! We're going to have so much fun! WOOT!" she screamed leaping onto Shin's back and began fiddling with his hair. "Almost as perfect as mine, but don't worry. With the right conditioner, I'm sure we can give it even more volume and shine."
"Err... thanks." He steadied her on his back by grabbing legs, then staggered out. At least she wasn't eating all his snack food yet, right? Right!?
Heads turned in the hallway as Shin-steed stomped, staggered, stormed, towards the kitchen, Kokoro-back-pack clinging tight. An aura of doom and ferocity snapped back at anyone foolish enough to ask about his recent accessory. Everything was dandy. She was just a cellphone strap, not a burden. No. Shin smiled, weak as three-day-old tea.
"This is the mansion, Kokoro..." He squeaked as they slipped by the hallway of classroom doors. "Classes are here. You'll be studying in those... or snoring. I remember you liked the snoring. And over here, we have the living room. TV, Wii. Fun stuff. Those are the stairs to the dorms. Guys are on one side of the halls, girls on the other... you'll figure it out. And here's the kitchen." He crouched in front of the kitchen doors as he set her down, then led the way inside.
The kitchen was swank, simple, effective, with a couple tables for eating, a raised counter island in front of the sink area and related countertops, a fridge filled with good stuff, an oven, a microwave, and anything you'd expect to find in the kitchen of one of the swankest schools in New York.
Shin walked over to the fridge, and pulled a package of ground beef from a drawer. Closed the fridge, set the beef on a plate.
And so came the tour of the mansion and Kokoro was all ears as Shin showed her the basic layout of the place. She pretty much cringed at the mention of classrooms and studying, but nodded when he mentioned snoring. Oh yes, little Kokoro was notorious for falling asleep in class or really anything that bored her to tears. Either she slept or sat up eyes glazed over in her own little world until she was swatted across the head with the teacher's ruler. School was so fun. Not.
Next was the TV and the Wii. She was down with the Wii, but PS3 and the 360 were her systems of choice. Maybe she could hand someone their backside in a game of Super Smash Brother's Brawl. The stairs to the dorms...apparently they weren't co head. She sulked on the inside. Once in the kitchen and dropped to the floor, Kokoro made herself at home. She raided the fridge, snatching a soda and a slice of cold pizza and hopped up on the counter, swinging her dangling legs.
"This is a cool place. No wonder you never visit and ignore your family. Speaking of, are you ok? I mean, you seemed kind of bummed when you left a couple months ago and I get here today and you still look bummed. Like someone stabbed your girlfriend through the torso with a drill or something."

Out came cold pizza and questions. Why was he making burgers for her again... if she had cold pizza? Shin scooped up the meat in his hands and formed it into a few beef patties, then set them on the now-sizzling pan. He didn't suppose there was anymore cold pizza where that came from. Might as well make something else while the teen was feasting on cheesy flesh. Voracious eaters rarely gave chefs time between courses.
Of course.
He glanced back at Kokoro as she interrupted his musings.
>>"This is a cool place. No wonder you never visit and ignore your family. Speaking of, are you ok? I mean, you seemed kind of bummed when you left a couple months ago and I get here today and you still look bummed. Like someone stabbed your girlfriend through the torso with a drill or something."
"Oh, that was last time." Shin replied casually. "And then I told mom and dad about me being a mutant after your parents took it so well, and they flipped out and disowned me. Soooo..."
Sizzle sizzle went the meat on the frying pan. So.
What a surprise! So much that a piece of cold pizza got lodged in her throat. It was ok. She bolted from the counter and gave herself the heimlich maneuver on a chair. A wad of chewed up cheese and dough flew from her mouth, like the piece of apple that was coughed from the beautiful princess in various versions of Snow White. There would be no handsome prince in this tale. Just heartbreak and sadness.
" They what!? That's a bunch of old bullsh-" she slapped a hand over her mouth. Never curse in front of your sensei or elder family members. It is dishonorable. "Sorry...I've been watching American Gangster a lot lately. Anyways...HOW COULD THEY?!" she cried bolting over to envelope Shin in a hug....only to trip and have her face planted into the floor. "Uguuuuuu..." She groaned and sprang back up, sitting on her knees and her hands in her lap. Her eyesset back to Shin...this time there truly was guilt behind her sad expression. Disowned? She never thought her Aunt and Uncle could be so cruel. It wasn't like Shin had a choice in becoming what he was.
"Tetsuya-san...I'm sorry. I mean, are you okay? Have you been eating? You're not so filled with angst that you've poured your sorrow into writing bad fan-fics and disgusting lemons? You don't look like you've made a trip to Hot Topic either, unless all your stuff is hidden in your room...Everything will be okay! I still love you! Always have, always will! You're my hero!"

>>"Tetsuya-san...I'm sorry. I mean, are you okay? Have you been eating? You're not so filled with angst that you've poured your sorrow into writing bad fan-fics and disgusting lemons?"
Shin grimaced at the thought. "No. I'm fine. Pretty much got caught up in work. Had a good talk with Twyla, though. Anyways. It's nothing you should worry about." He flipped a burger. "And Sasami said she'd try talking to them. Getting them on my side... I really can't blame them, though. What with the way the media plays mutants off as some kind of terrorist cell, or a disease..." He flipped the other patty, and picked the now-cooked first burger up off the pan and set it on a plate.
"Can you grab some buns?" Shin gestured with the spatura towards a cupboard. "They should be there with the other bread goodies. And you okay? You hit your head pretty hard?" His eyes darted back to the frying meat.
"Ok..." Kokoro said going over to said cupboard and grabbing the hamburger buns. "How can being a mutant be a disease. I mean, just because we have super powers, people want to hate? Watch when I get stacks of green and livin' so high, I'll have birds in my condo. You know, you know, west side! But I guess I'm representing for the east coast since I'm in the NYC, BABY!" she shouted. Then there was an odd pause. Back on topic.
" Ok, sorry. Anyways, I'm fine. I've had multiple concussions over my adolescence. The doctors wonder why I'm not as dumb as a box of rocks, but I guess I just have a hard head and a strong mind? I don't know. But stop worrying about me, you're the subject of concern. You can't be completely alright and fine. I can tell that you've been a bit down, but don't worry I'll fix that."

Shin blinked at Kokoro as she spoke. Did she ever stop speaking? "Um..." He wasn't sure how being a mutant could be like being a disease, really. Though given the chance, some people would be quick to call mutants contagious and request they be sequestered or banished or locked away... "I guess it isn't that we're a disease, or that we're contagious... it's more that they're scared of us... we have super powers. That's scary. We try and use our powers for good. Some use their powers for bad. It makes it difficult for the police to know who is good, and who isn't. Just think what they'd have to feel like if vigilantes ran around fighting crime all day... god, that has to be emasculating when some mutant does your job for you."
Shin shook his head and lifted a finished burger onto a plate with a paper towel. He patted it off to sop up grease, then set it on a plate for Kokoro. Shin turned back to his burger, and finished cooking. He turned back to her and set the two plates on the table, then sat down and leaned forwards on his arm. He scrunched up his face.
"That's good... really. I'm fine. It stinks, but whatever. Eat your burger."
He didn't want her worrying about him. More importantly, he didn't want Kokoro blindsided by human nature. She was too young to have to deal with the copious amounts of slime in the world.
Shin sat back in his chair and looked at. "So, you said you busted a wall? Or was it a ceiling... you've been practicing, haven't you...?" He changed the subject.
"Stop saying you're fine. You're miserable as hell." Kokoro retorted, slapping a hand over her mouth. She was taught that it wasn't polite to curse in front of your elders, especially family members. Although hell wasn't that strong of a curse word, it was still disrespectful to use it in front of Shin.
"Sorry, Tetsuya-san. And thank you for the burger!" She skipped to the table and happily plopped her bum down into a chair and took the burger into her hands. She took a bite out of it, the words nom nom nom coming from her mouth as she chewed. When Shin asked about her damaging her home and practicing, the teen nodded excitedly.
"I figure that I should since the night I knocked you and those punks over with that blast. It was pretty cool! I don't really remember, but I just assumed it had to be. Thank god I wasn't stuck with some lame power like talking to fish." she sighed. "I try to shape the invisible goo that appears when I think about it. You know....concentrate it into an attack like a kamehameha or a hadoken. I can give you a demonstration!" she shouted dropping the burger and hopping out of her seat to take a stand in the room.
She took a deep breath and raised her fist, concentrating to materialize her mental energy and for it to condense and wrap around her fist. "World Shaking!" she cried preparing to slam her fist into the floor.

>>"Stop saying you're fine. You're miserable as hell."
Shin raised his hand and opened his mouth wide, then shut it when she caught herself and apologized. "That's better..." Ugh. He squirted ketchup onto his burger, avoiding eye contact with Kokoro. He spread mustard over the bun, and let red and yellow mix to make a milky orange as he pressed the burger together. A faint sigh escaped his lips. "It isn't as if I'm not upset about it, Kokoro... but really. Really. I don't want to dwell on it. People can change, right? I'm hoping they see that, and... you really can eat, can't ya?" Shin goggled at the young girl's eating habits.
And the talk of invisible goo... er... Shin looked towards the ceiling fan, trying to wrap his mind around the concept. Around and around the fan turned, like the gears of a machine. Shin's brow crumpled and shifted from left to right. He bit his tongue... nope. Nothing. Just misplaced sparks. His eyes dropped just in time to catch Kokoro's demonstation... or stop it, actually.
"No.... No....Nooo.............." Her fist moved to deliver the attack. And on the floor? That wouldn't do. Shin thought fast. A flurry of shards shot across the room, to wrap around her fist in the form of a box. That'd absorb the impact. Right?
"No." Shin clamped down on Kokoro's arm after she'd finished. He looked at her sternly, and shook his head. "We have a better room for that."
