The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I hope you're a good driver." Despite the whole situation, Lily couldn't help but roll her eyes and smile a shaky smile. "Guys." she sighed, as she got into the car. How can he worry about his car with a bullet in... argh. Guys. At least he was still conscious. "Actually, I'm a terrible driver. Or so they say. I just avoided wrecking Daddy's car because real ladies have someone to drive their pretty cars for them. Duh." she told him in a mock-serious voice and a very serious face. She was hoping for some kind of reaction from him, she didn't want to check every now and then to see how he was holding up. "C'mon, Shawn, talk to me." Lily was a good driver. Even tired, scared and beaten up she was confident behind the weel - it came from her overachiever nature, and the knowledge that the last thing they needed right now was a car accident. She also held the wheel with both hands, even though she winced every time she had to move her left shoulder. The pain was getting really bad. Well, damn. Speed limit be damned too. The trip back to the Mansion was less cheerful and definitely shorter than the trip downtown.

Streak gave a shaky and painful laugh that probably sounded more like a bark or cry of pain but he really was laughing. Sort of. “Great. Just my luck. I take the one person out who is a bad driver.” Streak said returning her quip with a smile. She was genuinely concerned for him. He was actually less concerned for himself than she was for him. but this was probably due to the fact that he’d been in more battles than he could count and been shot more times than he’d like to think about counting. Of course Streak wasn’t your ordinary person he was actually healing little by little as they drove. “Can you get back to the mansion from here or do we need to stop and get a Star Map?”
It was a lame joke but he wanted to stay awake for her as long as he could. Why did things happen to go this way whenever he was having a good time? Couldn’t he just have a normal night out for once? Although she said she was a terrible driver, she seemed to be doing quite well with avoiding the other cars that were on the road. “Hey Lily. Are we there yet?... Are we there yet?... Are we there yet?” Streak asked only slightly serious to her. The shorter trip was definitely appreciated by Streak as his shoulder was still swinging uncontrollably out of socket and his wound was still trying to heal itself. Streak was trying to not move as little as possible but that was difficult to do considering they were in a moving car and any little bump felt like a kick to the stomach. All in all it was not a fun trip back but he was glad when they finally reached the mansions gates and pulled in the drive.
“Hey Lily. Are we there yet?... Are we there yet?... Are we there yet?” No matter how bad a shape Shawn was in, he still had spirit to annoy her. Lily chuckled as she drove on. She was as far from cheerful as she could get, but every minute that brought them closer to the Mansion while he was still awake was worth a smile. "Hang on, we're almost there." She could tell he was not doing well; he winced every time the car turned, or hit a bump on the road. She couldn't imagine how painful his wounds might have been. She bit her lip as they entered the mansion grounds and pulled in the drive. Parking the car she got out, walking around to open his door. "See Shawn, this is how a gentleman acts like." she smirked, helping him out of the car and walking towards the infirmary. She stayed on the side of his unhurt shoulder and kept one arm around him in case he fell. She didn't expect anyone to be awake this late at night, but as soon as they entered the infirmary, Doc showed up, appearing out of thin air, or so it seemed to her. Her senses were finally giving up the fight. She made sure Shawn sat on one of the hospital beds, then sat (more like collapsed) on the other one, leaving the rest to the healer.

"I wouldn't know. I don't spend a lot of time going out with gentlemen." Streak said to her as she helped him out of his car. When DocProf showed up Streak was glad to see him. "Hey there. Long time no see huh?" The silver man gave a pained smile at the Doc.
"Streak what happened now? Looks like someone roughed you two up pretty bad." Doc said to Streak and Lily. He gave an odd look at Lily before saying, "Do you just look for people that are injured or something Jewel?" It didn't look like he was going to get an answer from either of them right away since Lily had decided to collapse on the hospital bed next to where she had set Streak down. He went to work right away on Streak since he was in worse condition than she seemed to be. Removing the bullet from Streak was the easy part. The hard part was keeping him quiet while he reinserted his shoulder into its socket. But the Doc was really good so he waws able to do it with out waking Lily.
Once the Doc was finished with Streak the silver mutant fell asleep. DocProf then immediately went to check on Lily. He easily fixed her and let them both sleep through the remaining part of the night. It would be late the next morning when Streak would wake up. He slowly got up and walked over to check on Lily. His arm was wrapped up in a bandage to let the shoulder heal a bit more and his stomach was wrapped in gauze to ensure that it didn't open up. Streak silently stood over Lily for a minute and felt bad that she had to go through all this. There reallly wasn't anything he could've done to prevent it but now he really hoped that she would be able to get past it and not expect that to happen every time they went somewhere.
Jewel was vaguely aware of the sounds around her; she heard Doc speak but her mind couldn't really distinguish the works as she slipped in and out of consciousness. She could also hear Shawn's voice once in a while - the healing process was apparently very painful for him. The pain in her shoulder was the only thing that kept her awake; when she senses Doc standing next to her, she used the last shred of her powers to remove the silver covering from her injured side, and when the first waves of the healing power washed through her body, she passed out. It's all right now, we're safe. The next morning she woke up without any pain, but her body still felt sore and tired. There was a warm blanket covering her - which felt nice - and someone was standing next to her bed. Someone she could clearly sense without looking. Lily opened her eyes. "Shawn?..." he was bandaged up but standing on his own. Lily smiled a weak smile "Feeling better?"

"Shawn?..." “Feeling better?"
“Ya. It’s me.” Streak replied when Lily finally opened her eyes. “Much better. Thanks to your driving.” He answered her. He was probably better off than her even though he was much more banged up than she was. How many people can get shot one night and be standing the next day. Probably not very many. The point was that he would have been in a worse condition or maybe even dead if Lily hadn’t been there to drive them both back to the mansion. She looked tired. Even though she was probably more rested than him, her body wasn’t used to taking the type of abuse that he’d become use to through training and experience.
Streak sat back down on his bed and continued to look at her. “What a night huh?” Streak said, in an attempt to make idle conversation. He doubted that she felt like doing much more than sleeping at the moment and if she did wan to sleep then that would be fine with him. He could use some extra sleep as well. “Did you have fun last night or would you have preferred to have done something else?” He wasn’t sure how much of a response he was going to get out of her but she did seem to tired and not in pain.
“What a night huh? Did you have fun last night or would you have preferred to have done something else?” Jewel sat up, moving her limbs carefully in case there was any pain left in them. There wasn't. There were bruises though, and sore muscles. She frowned, dangling her bare feet off the bed, the blanket still wrapped around her. She wondered if Shawn was being serious. "Well, my idea of fun might be entirely different from yours..." she sighed, looking at him "... but this wasn't my best night out ever." It was an understatement. It was definitely, officially and undoubtedly her worst night out. Ever. And because she was too busy passing out on the hospital bed afterward, she didn't really have time to start dealing with the consequences. Yet. And although he was the one who asked, and she was telling the truth, she still felt bad for Shawn, because it really wasn't his fault at all. But being the guy and all, he probably thought it was. Jewel had little to no idea how men usually dealt with things like this, and even less idea about how a trained and experienced X-man would. But she sure knew what a normal girl would do. The tile floor was cold beneath her bare feet as she walked over to him, dragging the blanked that hung from her shoulders, and hugged him. Carefully avoiding his injured shoulder. "How about next time we just stay in the club and dance some more?"

Streak watched her get up to see if she was showing any signs of discomfort. So far he couldn't see her struggling with anything past muscle exhaustion and soreness. "Just to let you know I don't exactly count getting shot and beat up as fun." Streak said clarifying a few points. He seriously doubted that it needed clarifying but he did it anyways. He thought that she was being nice when she didn't come right out and say that it was probably the worst ever. But that was OK with Streak. He could deal with someone trying to save his feelings. He didn't need it but it was nice to know that someone was interested in his feelings. He did his best to protect her but with so many of them and and gun involved he was at a distinct disadvantage against them.
He was a little surprised she stood up and walked over to him. Maybe she thought this would have make up for him beating himself up about the fight. But he wasn't beating himself up, at least not yet. The time would come later on when he would do that but now wasn't it. At this moment he was happier that he'd been able to put up such a good fight against so many. It seemed every time he was outnumbered he did a little better each time.
"How about next time we just stay in the club and dance some more?"
"That sounds like a much better idea than taking a walk." Streak agreeded nodding. he wrapped his arms around her before saying, " So does this mean I kiss you since you saved me?" Streak asked smiling at her. It was said like a joke but he was actually completely serious. What she figured she didn't know was that he was going to kiss her no matter what she said about the whole saving situation. Streak figured she deserved it. After all she did just get in her first big fight and he she's walking around the next day. That's a success in his book.
" So does this mean I kiss you since you saved me?" She was silent for a few long seconds, resting her head on his shoulder. "Now let's not get into the 'who saved whom' thing, okay?" she murmured, biting back a smile "I might start thinking I'm actually any good in a fight." It was nice. The whole thing was nice. It has been a while since she'd been this close to another person, physically or emotionally. Somewhere in the back of her mind there was an unformed thought about life-and-death situations and knights in shining armor, but she was not really paying attention to it. It was much more important that Shawn was holding her, his silver still a constant buzz behind her senses, and she was starting to connect the feeling to the sensation of being safe. She lifted her head from his shoulder and looked up at him; a smile played on her lips, just inches away from his. "... but since nothing about yesterday went as we planned it, I think at least we should get the last part right."

“You were good. Not great. But good.” Streak said smiling as he looked down at her. Part of him thought in the back of his that he was just getting this far because of what they had just been through, similar to that of the Stockholm’s syndrome. He didn’t want to take advantage of that but he couldn’t help but also hear the other part of his brain that said that she understood him better than anyone else could in the mansion. This was probably because their powers were so similar and complimented each other so well.
There was always a better time to think about it and right now wasn’t exactly the best time. He pushed the thoughts out of his mind and focused on the present. Lily had gotten very close to his face now and he could look almost straight at her.
"... but since nothing about yesterday went as we planned it, I think at least we should get the last part right."
“That sounds like a great idea.” He couldn’t agree with her more even if he’d said it himself. Streak then leaned forward, closed the tiny distance between the two and kissed Lily. While he was kissing her he thought it would be fun to see her reaction when he snaked his silver up his neck and chin and covered his lips in silver so that his now silver lips contacted hers.
Dizzy. The whole thing felt unreal, warm, and dizzy. It was the after-effect of the bruises and the healing, the immediate effect of being kissed, and the fact that even with her eyes closed she could feel Shawn's powers acting up. Somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered if his silver was reacting to something she did. Even though she was always - well, almost always - in control of her abilities, a person filled with pure silver was a constant temptation, even if she didn't admit or even realize it. Of course, her thoughts were much less coherent than that right now. When cool metal connected with her lips instead of warm flesh, her eyes flew open in surprise, and she pulled back, only a breath away from him. Shawn was playing around. Kissing someone covered in silver was not something anyone would be prepared for - but then again, she never imagined being a mutant either until it just happened to her. She wondered if Shawn had done this to anyone else, then concluded that people who lack her sixth sense might not find it as... natural? nice? tempting?... as she did. Also, she could tell it's a sign of trust for any mutant to play around with their powers this close to another person. And trust she could return. Lifting one hand to touch his face, she leaned back and touched her lips to his. She could feel her powers reacting to the touch, not really doing anything, just creating a sensation of... something she couldn't really describe. But it felt nice. Pulling back after who-knows-how-long, she smiled up at him. "Don't think you can get away with everything just because you're made of silver."

Feeling good was a weak description of what it felt like to kiss her. The cool silver touched her lips she pulled away in surprised. Not exactly the reaction Streak was looking for but it was amusing none the less. He couldn’t help but chuckle a little as she figured out he was messing with her. She didn’t seem to mind; maybe she even liked it more than kissing regular lips. He couldn’t tell but one thing he could tell was that she didn’t rebuke him for his little trick. Doing this did not necessarily mean he trusted her. He already knew he could trust her because she took care of him and brought him back to the mansion safely. This was just fun. Streak had no idea what was going through her mind as she kissed him again, the silver still covering his lips. One thing was sure… it wasn’t a bad thing going through her mind.
This kiss was a little different than the first because he felt a slight pull as the silver seemed to try to decide which pair of lips it wanted to be with. It wasn’t a particularly strong pull, or one powerful enough to remove the silver from his lips, but it was there and he was aware of it. Streak didn’t break the kiss until Lily did. She was the first one to speak from the two of them. Streak smiled when she said her comment. “Well, I’m glad we cleared that up right off the bat. Although…that was my ace in the whole and ya just shot it down like a dove in hunting season.” Streak said in reply. Of course that thought hadn’t crossed his mind yet, but it was only a matter of time before that thought did cross his mind.
“Well, I’m glad we cleared that up right off the bat. Although…that was my ace in the whole and ya just shot it down like a dove in hunting season.” Jewel chuckled and leaned against him. "Tough luck, Streak. Next time you want to impress me you'll have to save my life again. Gets boring after a while, huh?" She was glad things turned out the way they did. Since waking up in the infirmary, that is (let's not talk about the things before that). There was no moping and no guilt (although she felt them lurking somewhere waiting for an opportunity). And the kissing wasn't half bad either. "Well well well. I don't know what unproved cure you two have been takin', but it seems to work miracles. Up and about this early, huh?" Doc strolled in with a grin on his face. Jewel blushed deep red and wrapped the blanket tighter around herself, but she couldn't hide a smile. "And feeling much better too." she nodded "Although I could use some more sleep. And a hot bath." "Well, lady, I'm not keeping you" the healer beamed "You're free to go. I just dropped in to check up on lover boy here." Jewel chuckled again, quite amused, then gave Shawn a quick kiss on the cheek. "See you later, Shawn."

"It's only boring sometimes but I hope I wont need to wait to save your life for next time." It wasn't to long before the Doc came in. He always seemed to know the right time, or the wrong time in their case, to walk in and check on his patients. "Doc I'm fine man. I got work to do. Can I go?" He also kissed Jewel on the cheek and said bye to her as she left the Infirmary. The doc wasn't cutting him any slack here as he started to undo Streak's bandages. He only had a little stitching where the wound was. "Oh not a bad job Doc." Streak said when he was fixed up. "All right your good to go. I don't think I'll have to change it again. You can go to lover boy." Doc finally released him and Streak eagerly got up and walked out of the Infirmary. There was plenty of work that he still had to do but he was sure that he could do the work without any wound interruptions.
