The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

When the hammers formed, she turned to phasing again, ready to phase through the hammer that approached. WHOOSH, one flew through her phased body and she sighed in relief, she needed to get better at phasing, maybe a few more sessions in the Danger Room could-ACK! Without even realizing that there was another hammer flying around, well, not really flying, more like attached to Aura's arm. Oh fantastic, she dislocated her arm or broke her arm or sprained or somethinged her arm from the blow. all because she was too stupid to look out a bit more.
Fade muffled a yelp, hopefully it wasn't broken, but whatever it was: "OUCH!" she said from her invisible position. Thinking better of that statement, she stopped speaking and grabbed her arm, massaging it slightly, which hurt a lot, so she had to stop. "But you can only kill me once," she said, which was kind of a lie. After the last KP Brawl, it seemed like she did die, but she hardly knew much about that other than it was a miracle she was still alive. "I'd fight you every day if it kept you from killing humans," she said, running up to kick Aura's back. If any human broke the law, then they should go to jail.
"I have no wish to kill you, my friend" she said honestly, it was true she had tried to kill the preacher lady, but that had more to do with the lady trying to preach to her that she was wrong, more the way she said it. This girl was much more straight forward. about things and Aura liked that alot. She had felt one of her hammers meet resistance when she struck. Could her weakness be that she could only pass through one object at a time, or maybe it had more to do with the size. She was also assuming the first one passed through without harm. Aura considered it might be an outright miss, but it seemed less likely, still fade was quicker then her.
"And i would relish each passing dance, still that could not stop the killing of humans entirely. Orders are orders after all, which of course override our own beliefs" she said honestly, even as she was turning in response to the voice, The girls kick connected hard to her chest causing her to stagger back a sher aura absorbed the blow. Aura knew each of these blows was taking a small portion of her aura with it and that if it did keep up she would eventually run out. Still she would have been wiser to keep the stick in Aura's eyes, it was capable of hitting harder then a kick or punch, and force was what was really needed here. "See, i only hurt mutants when they pick a fight, like now, or if they are in the way or any standing orders, like at KP, i was advised to keep people out and so i did to the best of my abilities." she explained returning the chatter, it was less detrimental to her to do so, then it was to fade. Aura chose to keep the hammers, but had no way of telling how much damage she had actually caused. She was having fun though and relaxation was just what she needed. SMiling she simply waited backing her back to an air conditioning vent and waited.
Well, at least Fade was not in danger of death today. It really was a matter of whether the police or the hospital would be involved in this fight. For one, Fade did not like police these days any more than she did while she was a pickpocket. Because she was so well known as being the 'one that got away', she was kind of wanted by the police. Of course, they were more familiar with her attempts at 'bettering the world' but she was so on and off over the past couple of years, it was best to just leave the police out of it. Now hospitals on the other hand, they were not as unliked as police, but the Mansion had it's own infirmary, best to not include ambulances either.
Orders? Had she been ordered to kill those humans? Fade honestly doubted that this girl was affiliated with - wait. This was the girl that Morphia had been talking about when she came into the infirmary, the one who had a thing for jewelry. "Come to think of it, didn't you rob a jewelry store?" she asked. Jewels were not exactly Fade's favorite theft of choice, not even when she used to steal. It was really money that she needed because stealing jewels would result in having to sell them and that was all-together too difficult.
The mention of KP sent a shiver down Fade's spine. That murderer of a mutant had nearly took Fade's life that day, but only by a freak accident. It had taken a long time to recover and it was still not fully recovered, her heart rate was irregular. When Aura backed up against the air conditioning, Fade had an idea. Of course, it was only a vent, but if there was a way that she could rip out a few of the wires and send out freezing cold air, maybe she could freeze the aura around this girl. Fade had never been to school, she did not understand these concepts, but it was worth an uneducated try. Leaping upon the vent (it made a small noise when she jumped up), she reached in and began to tear at the wiring. Even if she could not get it to do what she wanted, maybe holding electric wires was...smart?
"sort of, simple robbery was not the plan, taking out a human who would do mutants harm was" she said wondering a bit how this girl knew of the robbery. Maybe it had been on TV but she was pretty sure Meld and herself had not been on camera. She thought back to being trapped under the house before continuing. "Turned out the man was trying to provoke mutants into attacking him or his house, which he dropped on us" she added dryly sounding a bit annoyed at the idea of being crushed under the house. It had been quite a bit less then fun. "The only regret though was two mutants tried to defend the human, fools, but they were mutnats and thus remained alive" she went on, clearly their was no remorse for her actions, in fact she was proud of herself.
Aura heard the small noise and turned, her blade was low and cut into the vent, though her aura would not conduct electricity, it would not shield her from the cold or heat itself. She knew as soon as she swung she would likely not meet the girl, her blow had been to low and so her second arm took a defensive stance in case a return blow was coming, she had no idea what was really in the vent, as the idea of air conditioning and heaters were unknown to her for the most part. The dance was growing in it's fun and excitement and Aura enjoyed the conversation as well. Aura did wish more people would understand her point of view as it was she was starting to feel like most mutants wither failed to care or wnated the humans around for things other then hunting.
"My faith in humanity died with my friends bullet ridden corpses, their anger at being torn from this world still echoes in my mind in images" she commented even as she had swung her first blade. She had a feeling she mentioend it before but could not quite recall, even if she had, it had swayed the other girl very little.
The two mutants who fought back must have been Morphia and Jewel, they had come into the Infirmary rather beaten, but still alive. It was quite an interesting story as Fade had robbed a jewelry store before, only no humans were harmed and it was solely to sell and get money for food. What had happened to crime these days? Any crimes Fade had committed were to keep her alive. Confusion hit her, what did she mean? The human wanted her to attack him? That seemed rather far-fetched, what human would want that? It was not like Fade ran around telling human rights activists that she was a mutant.
"Mhm, I bet that's what all your victims say," she said, still confused. A few more swings with the girl's blades and Fade was back on the ground again. Maybe she needed to research air conditioning vents, that obviously was not one since it was on a roof, but she could not research if she could not even read. Maybe she needed to tackle that project first. Fade had lived a tough life because of her mutation, but she was not one to play the violin to it.
"Sorry about your friends, but we all used to be humans too," she said. Even when she was a human, she had lived a terrible life. She did not even gain her power until after her parent's death and her kidnapping. This world was not nice to anyone, mutants or humans and all of the clashing just seemed to get worse.
"Maybe it is, and maybe i was human at some point, i can not recall much from before i gained y powers, but our powers mean that nature chose us to fight the plague it sees as the humans. Nature makes nothing without need, without purpose, if we were not needed to replace the humans we would never have gained our powers" Aura said simply the knolage was so visable in her mind, she thought fade might be able to read it in her eyes.
"Yes and luckily some of were chosen to survive natures purge of humanity by being gifted with our wonderous and beautiful powers. I Know this becuse one of my freinds could talk with nature itself" she said beleiveing what her freind had told her, that solkat could not only control nature, but spoke with it and was in effect it's avatar. "My only regrett is i will likely not live to see the golden age of our kind, still the task of serving our kind is far more valuble" she sad as she awaited Fades responce or attack, she wa sbeginning to want to end this soon, one good thing about. Fades lack of tangabillity, it eant her blades were not being drained at a noral rate, still cops might see them eventually.
You know, for someone who is confused about how to feel for humans, Aura had some good points. Humans that Fade had met in her days had been mean, they had locked her up, they had cut her down, chased her around and made her life miserable. If it was not for the promise that she would never send anyone through what she went through because of how painful it was, she would have just turned visible and walked away, holding Aura's hand and skipping like best friends, but she could not do that. Humans could be mean, but in mind, mutants and humans were the same, both felt pain, both strove for dominance, the only thing that separated them were mutant powers.
'A rose by any other name still smells as sweet,' or something like that. Someone had told her that once, although it was meant to be a pick up line, it helped her see some things differently. She was called a mutant, but she still looked like a human, she still acted like a human, she could still be hurt just like a human, she just had a different name and maybe a bit more thorns than the rest of her roses. Still, quote Shake'n'Bake or whatever that British guy who said that would be a bit lame, so she just kept it to herself.
"The Golden Age is when our two sub-species can live together, peacefully," she said, proud of her big word: sub-species. For an uneducated woman, that was a pretty good choice and she invisibly patted her back. A siren sounded from far off but she was not ready to end this just yet, apparently someone found the guy in the alley because only one cop car and an ambulance were on it's way, not a bunch of cops to subdue the duet. In order to not be caught, she got down on her hands and knees, she grabbed Aura, turned her invisible and pulled her away from the edge. The second she let go, Aura was visible again. Too bad she had not conquered her phasing power to phase the two of them inside.
"I'd rather I didn't go to jail tonight," she said, although it would be easy for her to escape even if she was caught. Still, jail smelled bad and she just did not want to leave the scene.
Aura was suprised when Fade suddenly grabbed her to pull her down, she could not feel what touched her Aura, tough she did feel being pulled down, and an Aura blade forming right away, and she had already swung the blade, and then she mentioned not getting arrested. Realizeing no attack was comming Aura knew their was no time to deform the blade, so instead she softened it, until when it struck it simply shatterd flowing back into her aura after it did. Aura smiled it was a sign the girl cared if even a bit.
"I can not agree, Humans and mutants are alike and thare lies the issue, Humans fear what they do not understand and grow jelous of that which they can not obtain. These two emotions lead to hatred and that leads to violence. I can not recall many things, school, my parents, my real name or even my address but i do know we can not survive side by side for this reason. Say you could run really fast, like a car and you wnated to be on track, Is it fair to let you play against humans? And if you can, if you are not use our powers, how do they know your not aideing your feet with that power? Any victory andthing you acheive even if you are honest about it, those jelous will accuse you of useing your powers, so no matter what you do it will always be 'She just won becuse she is a mutant freak'. That jelously and hatred may cuase one to try and cause you harm and it only takes one good blow and even the most powerful falls. Maybe my mind is tainted from so much combat, it may well be that i am simply blind to the truth as my heart has turned dark from pain and loss, but i never feel alive unless im in combat, the images in my mind leave me alone and i can only see beauity in the dance and in girls like you these days" she said honestly able to hear the siens as well, she wonderd if the cops would even care once they found he was a thug.
"When my powers emerged i was fighting a girl and an aura blade formed so my punch instead of winding her, cut her spine in to, killing her almost right away. They locked me away without a word untill the Matriarch rescued us and brought us to the woods. After that we were trained to be loyel as well as how to fight and after awhile watching people die, simply became routine as did waking up to gunfire and explotions, despite that the battelfeild became a place of comfort a place whare my troubles stopped.
Aura ran a finger across fades cheekbone slowly as she spoke "I did enjoy our dance?" she said with a smile looking into Fade's eyes, Aura's crush was obvious, she had a thing for red heads and had considerd pursueing Kasumi for much the same reason, but then the drill things had gotten in the way. She could not see Kasumi for forgiving her for that. Aura wonderd if trying to date people on the other team was really a good idea, another coice reminded her she had been nothing against it. "You really are quite pretty" Aura said smiling softly towhat she consider a new freind and what she was hoping could be more.
Aura took a defensive approach to Fade's attempt to pull her away from the cops. Of course, Fade would have done the same, but there was nothing she could say to make the girl think that she was trustworthy and just did not want the cops to come. In that sense, she was a bit different from the other X-Men. She preffered to talk to the one she was fighting with, hopefully talk them out of their beliefs. Throwing them in jail would only fuel their firey hatred towards mankind. Thanks to the registration camps, that hatred grew even worse.
"That's why there should be special mutant sports, something we come up with on our own that has to be done by mutants or the game cannot be played. I agree that me on a Capture the Flag team would not be the best idea because I would win all the time, or high jump, I could just phase through the pole if I didn't make it. But what if we had games that were special and different." A thought pierced her mind. What about cheating in school? She would have easily cheated in school if she ever went. And what about jobs? Technomancers could controll the system they are being hired by. In a way, mutants were so powerful that humans felt belittled.
She then spoke about her combat calmness. Apparently she would only be calm in battle and she found dancing and...well, Fade, to be beautiful. Now she was not complimented very often, and even if it was by a crazy girl, it was still appreciated and she froze for a second, but only a second. She could not stay like this much longer. "Only calm in battle? Maybe you should find a better pass-time. Video games? I find climbing buildings to be much more relaxing," she said, smiling at the thought of climbing up a building and jumping to the next. Damn, she loved her power.
"No one should ever get used to watching someone die. It's someone's life torn right from this, how can you watch that like a tv show?" Some people could do it, but those people were known as pschopaths. "I was kidnapped when I was little. When I was recovered, my father and sister were dead and my mother was in a mental institution. I was sent to live in a foster home, who freaked out when I gained my power. I had to run away, I have been on the run ever since until I found the Mansion. Humans had treated me wrong, yes, and I stole from them, I stole quite a bit from them. But you know, it takes an even braver person to forgive the humans for anything that happened in your past."
Things took a different turn. Aura placed her hand on Fade's cheekbone and the shock of contact pleaded for Fade to phase her cheek so Aura's hand would go right through it. It was odd, but she remained where she stood. Again with the dance, it was hardly a dance. The way she spoke about Fade's looks made her blush. Great, not again, she mentally slapped herself. It was inevitable. If she was complimented, her cheeks turned red. A small uncomfortable smile appeared on her face, she had no clue what to do. "Uh... yeah, you too," she said, making eye contact for just a second before she felt her cheeks tingling again and she had to look away.
What the hell was she thinking? This was a member of the Order, and it was a girl! Well, mutants were always regarded with such difference, she knew how homosexuals or bisexuals felt now that she was set apart from the 'norm'. But were they really so different? Could Fade be one? It was a question that Fade feared, she always hoped she would never be faced with something like this, but there it was, standing in front of her in the form of...pink. To keep herself concealed, she turned invisible. I suppose she never grew out of that stage of turning invisible when she did not know what to do. "Uh... yeah... uh..." she just blanked. Well, splended way to sound crazy.
"Maybe" Aura was not so sure that seperateing out mutant sports and humans would solve their issues, rather Aura felt this would just cause things to grow worse, the first time someone got to jealous of the Mutant players and besides that, even among mutants their was little equality, some could fly but the distance and speed could be vastly different. Did this exclude mutants from playing sports with themselfs? Perhapse that was an arguement she needed to work on after all. "But their are so many powers no one game would work well and you might not have enough of the right types of mutants that you need to form the team, still it is not a bad idea, after all we will have to do something after the humans go away" she said thinking a bit more cheerfully.
"No i have tried many thing's but these memories of things i know to be false keep appearing in my head, some look almost correct other painful and many contradict other memories that pop into my head, if they get bad enough, i have a hard time telling this world from the ones in my memories and well that can be bad" she said shaking her head before continuing. "The last time i destroyed my entire room, believing i was chasing after someone i know is dead" she said, not really sure how others dealt with the same issues. Aura assumed everyone had such issues and that they simply dealt with them better then she was able to. "The rush of the dance helps to clear my mind and let me focus on more important" she said with a smile and a small giggle.
"It was basic training back in the woods, you woke up put on your white robe, listened to miracles morning sermon, fought and killed a human then ate breakfast for the first three months or so anyway. " she said understanding fade had a much different way of growing up which likely took her viewed in an entirely different position. "Humans can be cruel, you were made to flee to be the wonderful person you are with such a beautiful power and i was locked away for my power. It is sad the things that happen to our people, one must wonder just how many of us never make it as far as us" she said looking up at the sky in thought. "Though part of my anger is vengeance for those the humans took from me, it is also to help protect our people, the less of the violent idiotic members of the breed their are the less chance they will hurt somone important" she said not really believing it took much bravery to forgive.
Aura giggled again, making her seem like the harmless fifteen year old she likely should have been. Aura enjoyed the blush on fades cheeks, but also took notice that blade was a bit unsure what to do. "I'm sorry i seem to of moved a bit fast, i am not so good with these things" she said beleiveing Fades discomfort came from aura making a mistake in this process, Aura even failed to really understand that homosexuals were looked down on in society by normal people and even some mutants. Aura smiled brightly when fade turned invisible not quite understanding why she did it. "I would not mind seeing you again though, i had fun tonight with you, though perhapses next time i can get catch your eye in a way more appealing to you?" she asked tilting her head in the directions of the body's. Aura would ahve to ask someone hoe this process worked int eh future it really was confusing and so far she was just letting instinct and observation take over. "Do you already have somone" Aura finnaly asked shyly, the look seemingly out of place upon the young, violent mutants face.
The topic of mutant sports seemed so much less important now that Fade found herself staring at a girl that was crushing on her. This was the first time this had happened, or maybe it was the first time it had happened and Fade had actually realized that it was happening? Or maybe it was just - damn, she just needed to shut up. "I'd love to have a sport for climbing, I mean, rock climbing and mountain climbing, I'd do that any day," she said. Was she getting a knack for walking on the wild side again? First there was Venus, who she had met at a bar, now there was Aura. Both of which, she knew to be bad, but she did not do anything about it.
If there was one thing that was for certain, if she ever had to face them off in a huge battle, she would at least get to survive. So would they, of course, Fade was no killer, but now she had some security, no matter how much it made her blush. What had Fade's memories ever caused her to do? She never wrecked her room searching for someone who was dead, but then again, she had left the Mansion looking for Raph, but who knew if he was dead or not. "I left the only home I've ever had to search for my boyfriend who went missing last year and drank myself into oblivion," she said, not sure if that was any better than tearing up her room. Probably was not, but she had some alcoholic qualities.
"But how can we protect our people if we turn humans against us and make them think we are monsters? We only paint targets on all of the other mutants when we do this, we place a stereotype on ourselves and the human race only wants to get rid of us because we pose this threat. If we are not threats to them, if we live peacefully, sure we will have some human supremacists but not that happened after civil rights," (or so she heard on tv once).
How could she catch her eye in a more appealing way? "You can catch my eye in a more appealing way by not standing over someone's dead body next time I see you," she said, through her invisibility. For one, death was a major turn off, and so was killing. She tried to speak up and say she had fun too, but as she was thinking things through, she could feel her feet phasing through the floor, her body was too embarassed and wanted to get out, but she had to focus on her powers and stop running away, even if she did remain visible. "Raphael was my last, but I have not seen him for a year. I don't know what to make of that," she said finally, spitting the words out quickly before she rethought them.
Aura really knew how to do two things, Dance and carpentry, so Aura decided to share this. "I enjoy carpentry myself, i was taught it to learn to focus my powers" she said though she felt it might be best not to mention her preferred medium. If this one did not enjoy her killing abusing their bones might be seen as worse yet. She had noticed that people seemed to care more when she removed their bones first. Still could she play a sport, she ahd no idea if their was one even suited to her style and taste. Dance and carpentry being the closest things to sports she knew.
We are a threat to Humans simply being our selfs, some of us can do things that could put dozens out of work, Those humans who are not hired will blame mutants and if hey can't get to that one, they will find another weaker target. Their hatred went so far, a group of them made a commercial attacking mutants, just so they could lure them in and kill them. Even if they were provoked their plan was unlikely to attract any particular mutant. Many of our kind report labs whare they were experimented on and others thrown from their parents homes simply for being born of our kind. If peace really is possible, why do so few of lack scars, either on us, or inside our minds. Would i be able to recall my name, my parents faces or even my age had they not locked me away for being myself? Would my road in life still be as a soilder? I do not mind my role, in ensuring our people live" SHe said as she stood up to look around, she was sure the police would be heading near soon, although they might be delaying response because the wounds to the man would be made by few other things. Aura did .
"Then i shall sit upon the next batch" Aura said with a playful smile, Aura had no issue about killing humans certainly not low lifes. "My first was our Phophet, a mutant who could control plants and talk to nature itself, but maybe a year ago now, with the others she fell, SNiper, between the eyes" Aura explained even as she considerd whoever this person was fade had been with before. "One can only hope he still walks this world" she said having taken to forming her aura just around her thumb, then moving the energy down the row of fingers, onto her other hand and back. "I can not say i will kill no more humans becuse i know i will, i believe removing the scum is the only way out descendent's will even be born" she said honestly. "So to protect our people, i believe humans must lose their majority in the world, or accept they are a dieing species with or without our help" she said.
If Aura were into carpentry, then she could have more of a different kind of mutation than this odd pink...well...aura. What could it possibly be? Then again, Fade had a few different manipulations of her powers. For example, turning invisible is one thing, but turning just your skin invisible so everyone could see your muscles was something else entirely, although it was the same thing really.
"Look, I don't think the same as you, but I'm not one to get people arrested. Please, I won't be so anti-cops next time, but I hate the police. Just don't kill anymore," she said. It was a far-fetched request and like hell if Aura would actually do it, but she figured she might as well try. As for the police, Fade had her own criminal record and telling the cops that Aura was the criminal may have gone well until they checked her background and found all of her charges of theft, breaking and entering and such.
"I know you don't remember your name, and I really hate being called by my real name... hell, I don't even remember my last name because my real family died so long ago, before I was even a mutant, I was targetted. But my real name is Jenny," she said, unsure of whether she even told the girl her codename in the first place. Now she felt really dumb, but hopefully she did tell her, who knows... She was not expecting a name back, and truth be told, she would rather Aura just called her Fade, just because of the life she lived before and how much the memories hurt her, but she at least gave her the name. Even Sam had to look up Fade's file before he found out what her name was.
She talked about sitting on dead bodies. While it was a disturbing thought, for some odd, really really odd, reason, Fade smiled, nearly laughed. Just the little play on words was funny, not the killing of innocent people. She watched as Aura sort of toyed with her powers, it was shocking how the girl did not get annoyed by how often Fade's eye color changed. In the short time that she was looking at Aura's hand, it must have changed to three different colors. It was ironic that both of them had been with people who no longer were around, although the Prophet was definitely dead and there was a giant question mark hovering over Raph's memory. Where had he gone. "I am sorry," she said, unsure of what else to say.
"Asking me not to kill, is like asking you to be less pretty, some things are meant to be. I spent years whare the only way you survived, was by making sure your enemies never went home. Maybe the batteleild is ingrained in me like a soul. The Dance grants me peace and a source of enjoyment yes. I try to avoid killing Mutants. Alas you are right though, my record sheet has grown quite a bit since i returned to the city" She said her speech seeming a bit to long to her, certainly longer then she had intended it to be, but it was much to late to edit it now.
Aura wa sunsure how one could dislike their own name, Aura the only one she had known for herself suited her well, but perhaps names could be bad, like if you were a bat mutation called choppy. "If you hate your real name then i will call you another their are so many out thare one is sure to fit who you are. As for Me i am Aura, named by my first master for my power. Our names hold only the meaning we give them. Removal of our human anmes seem to be our peoples way of defining themselves anyway. i am curious what my real name may have been, but i do not dwell on it. I Have a name that suits me, i am My Aura and so we share a name. " She reposnded willing to call Jenny whatever she wished, truth was, Aura had trouble remembering most names anyway and tended to meld them after a trait she found they had.
"it's ok, she had no idea i felt as such for her and her girlfriend had quite the temper. Solkat is not really dead though, her power saves her from fatel attacks but takes her to another world to begin again, it made her sad to talk about that though" she said having never quite understood the issue with being unable to die, even startinbg over could be a good thing in certain cases. "it would seem.....if your dream is to ever come true and that humans and mutants are to live together, you must find a way to get parents to be more accepting of the issue" she said with a smile as she stood up, it wa sgetting close to the time o try and flee. Walking to the far end of the building she looked back and smiled to fade. "So many things can happon to a person, maybe try the internet, you can meet lots of people that way." Aura said although she ahd really only found some anti-government people but they liked her or so she thought.
"I would be hideous if it meant that it would save lives," she said, and she meant it. Really, she spent most of her life invisible in the first place. "My power would make it so no one would be able to see how ugly I am. It's fun to be invisible to the world," she said, flashing in and out of visibility. If she was ever hurt in a fire or such and her face burned off, she would be able to walk around town without scaring anyone because she could simply become invisible. Who cared about a girl who was not really there?
"Jenny is just so boring, and it grew an odd reputation for 'I love you, Jenny' after Forrest Gump came out. I like the name Aura, even though it's what your power is, it just flows off the tongue," she said. What the hell was she saying? It flowed off the tongue? Still, she shook the mental facepalm and continued. "You can call me Fade, on account of that's just what I do," she added with a smile before reappearing. Switching around her visibility was a fun game.
Aura began walking to the other side, talking about how the Prophet, or whoever that lover in her past was could not die. Were there other worlds to be transported to? Would she start anew, like as a baby in the world? Was there any way that Fade could get to this other world? "I have already found friends that believe the same as me...and I don't know how to use the internet..." It was true, in order to use the internet, you had to at least know how to read and type, which she had no clue how to do.
