The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura rubbed her head, the images simply kept coming today, not as powerful as in the past but more persistent as if they had changed tactics. Aura knew how to put them to rest however, she needed to fight. This time however she went to a different section of the city, the ally ways she normally used had been somewhat low on her targets. Walking down random allys she quickly found what she was looking for, several tall scruffy looking gangsters. Aura did not even consider she almost looked homeless, wearing a tank top, with one of the straps knotted so it would stay up, and a well worn black skirt. The brown haired Woman rushed her tragets without a word, the first one yelled hey, Just As Aura formed an Axe and embedded it in his skull, the axe sunk deeply and the man fell when Aura made her axe not solid again. The teenager dropped to the ground dead, and his Two Companions decided to flee. They were fast and Aura kept behind them at a good pace, but she was letting them stay ahead. Then the one turned and began climbing a downed fore escape and Aura decided to follow this one.
As Aura stepped onto the Roof, she felt the man punch her Aura, Aura simply turned and smiled. The cry of Mutant scum quite famillior to her. The man backed up until he was against the edge of the roof top. He tried to punch Aura as she approched, but Aura made a blade right whare the man punched, his own force impaling his hand on her Aura. Aura then Formed a second blade on her foot, and kicked the man in his knee. Hitting it off center she only chipped the knee cap of the man and the man drew a gun at her. He fired, but the bullet deflected off of her aura and broke a window a few streets over. Aura pushed him and the man fell the three stories onto the ground, his skull smashing on a dumpster before hitting the alleyway. She already was feeling better despite, the attack being easy. Looking down at the body Aura smiled a bit, at the filthy human. Aura picked up a dropped knife and looked at it curiously, before setting it down on an air conditioning unit. Solkat, Guide my path" she said to herself, a prayer in a way to her friend, wherever she might be.
Who said a girl can't have fun by herself? Fade was busy crawling around the city, climbing buildings while invisible, watching the street crowd below her and humming a small tune. Up one building jump one building, she hummed, saying the words in her mind before leaping onto a rooftop and regaining her posture. Just as she had landed, she heard a whizzing noise and then a loud crash, something broke a window. Judging by how the window broke, from one small piece to a larger radius, it was a bullet that broke through. Now who the hell was shooting bullets through windows? Deciding to investigate, Fade remained invisible and skittered to the rooftop.
Upon the roof, there was a woman, and below the roof, on the ground, the remains of a man. This woman seemed dangerous, so it was probably not the best idea to attack or approach and say something stupid like 'You are under arrest for the murder of whoever is down on that street'. Still, it was best there was somebody that stood up to her. Turning Visible, Fade stood on the edge of the room, not the brightest of ideas, but she had her feet claws dug in to keep from being pushed off. Her arms were crossed and her eyebrow was raised. "Didn't enjoy his company? I hate to tell you this, but America's a land where life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are every man's right. You can't strip someone of their life here, not in this city," she said rather coolly. Great, now she sounded like some kind of superhero, then again, she pretty much was.
Aura looked back as somone was suddenly standing on the roof. her Aura instently flared to a defencive stance, looking angeled around her face and arms, despite not quite knowing this girls intentions it was always better to be prepared, and more so when your opponent had claws. She was pretty, why was it whenever she attracted pretty girls they were always the Hero type. She did seem to value the animals life after all, she smiled at her comment and took just a few steps closer to this pretty red head. "No, he pulled a gun on me, after he watched me put an Axe in his friends skull so at the very leasta moron. I watched these filthy mongrols gun down every one i cared about, Happness, Freedom and whatever Liberty is." she said, shifting her aura around her body, so it almost looked like pink water.
"The same Humans i just killed would have gunned down somone else eventually, thats why their gang members their weak, and the weak in any animal heard dies" she said honestly seeing Humans as nothing more then mere animals, still she took from the weakest of stock normally.. She had forgotten to rob them though, that would have worked well becuse she did need bullets for her guns, but maybe she had a better prize. "I meet more pretty girls like this anyway" she said, finding Fade to be quite pretty. Aura liked her eyes most of all though. "My name is Aura, by the way. Onto More important matters though, your a mutant, your feet give you away, so lovely. Nothing more beauitful then one's mutant power, what can you do i wonder" she mused aloud.
Whether those that this girl, apparently named Aura, had killed had done worse to others, it was not worth a kill, at least not in Fade's book. While she had lived a tough life and was used to fighting for what she believed in, the Mansion taught her that she did not need to take revenge, that she could just start a life for herself. While she was probably one of the more conflicted members of the team, her temptation was theft, not murder. The smell of blood was unpleasing.
"You have seen these two killing others?" Without witnessing, Fade could hardly find a reason for killing them, not as if she would do so herself, but it would seem some people just reacted like that. "You killed him because he was human? You put yourself on the same level as the humans that have killed everyone you love," she reminded Aura, but she doubted the pink aura-air filled girl cared.
"Aura? I have heard of you, just a little, not even enough for a last name or a power." After moments of mental deliberation, she finally decided to turn invisible. Leaping back down from the edge in her invisible form, she snaked near Aura, but kept her distance. "I am Fade. Just guess what I can do," she said before pulling away and climbing on the little roof shed. If they did not agree, it just seemed like there would be a battle and she was unprepared. While this Aura girl looked cute and appeared to be harmless, it was certain she would act if need be, or out of pure boredom.
"Not those two no, though i do beleive they delt drugs, but had they been mutants i would have stayed my hand, after all that would be murder" she said simply."Over all the diffrence is species, The earth chooses a dminent species to rule it and protect it. It gave humans their time and now has made somthing far suprior, ourselfs. Thus killing a human is akin to killing a deer, or a rabbit, whare as killing amutant is murder. " she said reiterrateing her point on mutants being killed. Humans were simply aniamls to be hunted and killed, much as humans did to a thousend species before them.
"Ah i see, since you support the humans killing our people i'll assume your from the mansion or maybe just some wondering Hero, either way i have no ill will against you, no reason to hurt you. I can not say the propect of danceing with you is not appealing, you are a lovely woman after all." she said watching the girl turn invisable, now she smiled She had a good feeling this one was a fighter, just what she needed to relax. Her fingers wiggeld an anticipation as fade went invisable, this made her smile even more. "I won't cause you any harm, unless you wish to impede me, i will not say that i won't try and kill more of the gang. I am a weapon after all, and as such i must stay sharp.
Aura was happy now she senced the comming fight, she suspected anyway, simply becuse the girl had used her power and then wnated her to see what she could do. At least it was not preacher lady, she hoped anyway, it could be this girl could not be hit physsicly as well, that would be sad for the people below them. If fade did win, would she end up back in a cage she wonderd. Either way this was going to be fun. "So are you really invisable, or have you become immune to harm Like preacher lady" she mused aloud not really directing the thoughts and not moving, instead she was straining her ears trying to hear whatever she could, while keeping her aura back.
((SERIOUSLY!? I wrote a post, even posted it! It's not here anymore! *swats MIA post*))
"Hmm, that species statement kind of reminds me of how Hitler viewed the Jews. So you are sort of a Neo-Mutant-Nazi?" she asked, looking around in the shed. A broom, a few buckets, some cleaning supplics, did not exactly seem like a weaponry, that was true. What kind of battle could be had with janitor stuff? Seemed like they would find out. Deciding on the broom, Fade twisted off the bristles and kept the stick in her hand while she emerged from the shed, still invisible. It was not much of a weapon, but it was better than a bucket, at least.
"I don't enjoy humans killing off mutants anymore than you do, but just because they kill, does not mean that we need to," she said, twirling around the stick. To be completely honest, she was having fun trying to think up of how to utilize this darn stick. The thought of dancing at the moment seemed so far-fetched that it tickled her lips into a smile. Dancing? On this gloomy nights? Only a psycho... "Oh yes, I noticed you are sharp," she called from in front of Aura. It was like fighting a Swiss Army Knife with a stick! Whoohoo!
Preacher ladies were from church, right? No, she wasn't a preacher lady. Or was a preacher lady from the Mansion? Was she talking about Tricity? "Not a preacher lady and I'm not immune, you just have to know my weakness," she said, still in front before she moved around to Aura's back and got ready. "Good luck," she called before bringing the broom down, hoping to 'sweep' her opponent off of her feet. No pun intended.
"Whats a nazi or jews and what's a hissler?" Aura asked the entire statement being lost to her as she had never heard of world war 2. "I simply beleive, nature evolves her chilldren to be better and the old vertion dies out. Did you know, humans give birth to us more frequently then we do them and that becuse of this, eventually their will be no humans at all even if we all play nice" she said easily. The One true path, stated that evalution made it's children better to prepare them for a danger. Still she had killed the gang member becuse few people ever reported the killings and so it was easy to stay under the radar.
"I will show you so much more, my friend" she said happily, her comment meant both in battile and out. She really hoped to get to know this one. She kept changeing the directon she faced as Fade Moved, doing her best to keep her infront of her, though she did not expect to avoid an attack, it did help her know whare she might be. "Win or lose i have the feeling i will enjoy every moment of this dance" she said happily.
"Yea Preacher Lady can turn her body to water, i beleive she was with a guy who could make fire, but he was content to let her fight" she said recalling her first real battile since she got to the city. Then the girl wished her luck, so Aura was already turning when the broom knocked her from her feet. As she fell to her side she saved herself from hitting the ground with her hand, she quickly formed a blade and sweapt in the direction on the swing. Aura's aura flared up now several inches in thickness flowing a bit like water, then from her other hand five inches long. "Good luck to you as well I Like you, yes" she said smiling, before swinging a few strokes at the direction, she had felt the swing come from. Atleast now she was more prepared to handle whatever the girl was weilding. She would have to wait for until she could find a way to get arounf the invisableness.
No matter whether Fade was good or bad, she was not unfair in her fights. Fighting the whole time invisible was a little bit unfair and she would not have too much more of that. After the blades began swinging in her direction, she lifted up the broom and clanged with her opponents, well, weapon thingy. It was time for a change. With a quick smirk, she turned visible, still holding her position. “Hardly seems fair doesn’t it?” she asked, blocking another swing.
Now what she needed to do was somehow get this out to the police, this woman needed to be arrested. Yet, the police could not just haul her away unless they were a mutant team. Instead, she would have to tire this Aura out enough for the police to take her away, but that would be quite a struggle. Leaping to the side, she attached herself to the shed with her feet and one hand, the other hand swung again at Aura, but of course, the pink one could see all the attacks until Fade decided to change that. She had higher ground, but the way she was standing made it hard for her to deflect much. She needed to change her position, and fast.
"If the only the humans had been so kind with the bullets and morters" she said, not supporting this girls choice. Combat could be brutal and doing this wih somone who meant to hurt her could well be fatel. More so when fighting humans, buns could kill at long distences and one normally had to see the shooter to be uch good at blocking the bullet. She looked down at the broom handle the girl was useing to block her blowesm it was metal, the main reason her blade did not just slice through. It then ocurred to Aura that this person might be trying to hide something, maybe she could only stay invisable for certain lengths of time. If that were the case then it would be normal to try and cover up reappearinces.
Then she used those feet to jump and attach herself to the shed then swung again with that pole. Aura decided to meet it, keeping her sword on one arm, sh used more of her Aura this time it flowed to her other hand, forming an axe. The pole struck her Aura and forced, her to the side a few steps even as she moved forward, once close enough she let her axe flow back into her hand letting only the normal aura glow remain visable and grabbed the pole with her hand. With her Other hand she brought down the sword, aimed at Fades head, figuring she would dodge. but hoping to catch her on hatever side she went to. In truth Aura preferred fade visable, simply becuse she enjoyed the view.
Drats, her position was compromised. "You don't see me using any bullets," Fade remarked, attempting to keep hold of her pole as the girl grabbed it after getting rid of her pink sword. OK, so she could form and disintegrate swords? Weird, but not that she hadn't seen many weird things, living at a mutant mansion, well, weird was hardly the word to describe it. After a moment of pulling, well, technically a split moment, another sword came crashing down on her head. Fade's red head jerked up to see what was occurring and once it registered, she used her phasing powers to allow the sword to fall down through her body. Now, since she has not fully completed her training with her phasing powers, she was unable to make her shoe phase through, so it was sliced in half and it fell to the ground.
Oh damn! Those were her last pair, she had to go shopping again and one thing was for certain, she hated shopping, it was a waste of time. Looking down at her shoes, she cursed under her breath and then leapt off the shed, hoping to grab the top half of her broom stick and yank it away from Aura, but by letting go, she lost a bit of control and ended up hitting the top of the broom stick with her face. Ouch, not smart. Still, she grabbed a hold of it and tried to pull it away from Aura, landing this time on the ground with no shoe and an unhappy face.
"very true, though i fear the boat has sailed" she said, basically implying fade had missed the point, still Aura would let it drop, a dance was not the place to harp on such things. She smiled as she watched her blade pass through Fade, she was hoping she would dodge, not turn incorporable, Still one rarely chose their dance partner, and Aura noted a clue to the abillitys weakness. Her shoe was sliced in half, even though it passed through the rest of her. Aura stayed calm when she spoke. "After our dance maybe we should sit down, and have something to eat" she said realizing she was quite hungry at the moment, talking as casually as if the two girls were going to the mall and for Aura a dance was very close to just that. Aura was already having fun,a nd thats what really mattered in these matters, the fun.
Then she watched Fade hit herself in the head with the pole, it looked like it hurt a bit. She kept hold of the poll as Fade jumped down. Aura debated in her mind what to do next, the fact the girl could turn incorporable gave her so many options. Their was also the trump card, but that, would have to wait, she wanted to enjoy this dance until the very end. Finely Aura gave the Poll a shove toward fade, letting go of it, even as she began moving forward in a quick Sprint. On her Right arm, her aurz began to flow reshaping itself and flowing like water until it made a cone like shape, and then it began to spin, she thrust the arm at Fade hoping to bring the fight to a close early, but their was more strategy in her strike then just that, the Pole would likely deflect off of such a surface. "You look unhappy, did the poll hurt or was it the shoe, becuse if it's the shoe then i'll remind you to remove it next time" aura said cheerfully before continuing. "Thank you as well, you certainly know how to treat a girl" she said referring to the dance.
Well, if there was anything more embarrassing than hitting your face on a pole, please inform Fade of this now, because her face turned about as red as her hair. Oh great, her face was hurting and she looked stupid. As she cursed herself for her stupid mistakes, she noticed that Aura was doing something weird with her aura...ironic... She turned her arm into some kind of cone and thrust it towards Fade, who in turn phased through it, although since it was spinning, it was harder to phase when it was constantly moving. The result was actually a tickle, the cone vibrated through her.
Laughing, Fade turned invisible again to hit her embarrassment from her hit to the face. "Food?!" she asked. Honestly, she had not thought about actually eating, but she had not eaten that much lately, it was a good idea to eat. Her tummy grumbled, but she tried her hardest to keep that hidden, this girl did not need to know that Fade was hungry. This was a fight and it seemed like she was turning it into a date. Swiftly, and invisibly, she ran full force towards Aura, threatening a tackle.
Aura had hoped her attack might do more, if she made the weapon diffrent but although Her strike was solid and true but seemed to only turn air, and the woman even seemed to laugh at it. Aura smiled as well, she liked a good fight and this girl easily seemed capeable of providing just that. She assumed this meant fade was having fun, just like Aura was herself. Then The girl went invisable again, which Aura had expected, not really thinking the girl should have become visable at all.
Aura closed her eyes trying to listen for Fade, but before she could pick up on her She felt the force of Another Body hit her, hard, Her Aura absorbed most of the blow, but the momentum carried her back, onto her back. Aura laughed even as she brought her hands from her Sides trying to hug Fade, or atleast it looked like it, the drill faded into her Aura reforming into a dagger which she brought at Fade's back. the woman might phase through it but if She did Aura was going to try and get to her feet. "We will ahve to do this again, your fun" she said even as she was still on her back. Aura's eyes betrayed the joy and fun she was really having, to Aura this might as well have been a date in some way, or at the very least a fun way to make friends. Aura had been raised fighting with friend untill she saw it as somthing you just did. true Fade was not of the same ebleifs as her, but that should not stop their friendship in Aura's opinion not even thinking Kasumi might be angry with her for drilling a hole in her.
Fade's curiousity just seemed to grow. This girl seemed to be having as much fun in this fight as Fade had. It was rare that another mutant did not take this personally and try to kill her, but it was much appreciated. One less person to kill her was one less chance to be killed. Still keeping a straight face while the girl was tackled down to the floor, it seemed that this act was nothing less than pleasurable. If only Fade could act lie she enjoyed giving this girl an act of pleasure, it seemed the girl would let her go, if only. But yet, since Fade was hardly able to lie, it seemed impossible, but it was worth a try.....or not.
The dagger seemed to cause a small, minute cut on her back, but nothing more. After such, Fade phased through the dagger, ignoring the cut in her shirt and her back and ripping off the shirt and tossing it to the ground. It would sound inappropriate to anyone who did not have the ability to turn invisible, but Fade was different.Without a shirt, she stood her ground, fully invisible and attempting to throw another blow at this girl.
As soon as the other body lifted from her, Aura got to her feet, The invisable woman could be anyware and not onlt that she could phase through things. Their was no water, or even dirt to try and reveal her form either. Their had to be some limit to her phaseing or she would remain phased all the time. She had to find the hole in the girls defence. She was having far to much fun to endanger inncocent humans in this fight as she had done with Ari. She would reserve that in case this one tried to turn her into the police. No matter how much fun she had, she could not allow herself to be caged again.
Aura took the next blow and felt a wisp of her Aura leave her. Forming a hmmer on both of her Arms, she swung in the direction fade had attacked with the blunt hammers. Aura wnated to see if the larger Hammers would cause her more issue then the blade had. Assuming Fade had not moved alread. "If i could find girls like you every day, i would have no need to kill the gang members" she said honestly. She enjoyed mutant fights much more the humans, humans useually lacked the needed force to give her aura a real work out, except with their guns those could cause dmaage after awhile. This one was no stronger then many she fought but her abillity turned this into a wonderful dance, which only they could ever see.
