The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Streak was sitting in his office. The recording from the camera was playing on the TV across from him. He didn't usually do this. Normally if he needed to review them then he would watch them in the War Room where they were recorded. However, since he had to talk to someone who wasn't an X-Men, but a new resident then he would have to do it there. Streak needed to know what happened because it wasn't customary for new residents to bring in bleeding people. Especially if they were supposed to not leave the mansion.
He didn't think it would be long for before she came in to his office to talk about it. Lily had known that he was the head of security, and that meant that she would need to do some major explaining. For now Streak waited in his office for her to arrive. He could have been wrong but he didn't think that she was the kind of person to try and hide things from people in charge.
Jewel dressed in a hurry; she just got back to her room from the kitchen, where she made sure the girl she brought in - Audrey - was feeling better (and eating breakfast). She brushed her hair, not bothering to make any extra effort; she adjusted the jewelry she was already wearing, glanced in her mirror, and left her room. The day had just begun, and she had tons of things to do. First of all, find Silver Streak. She walked down the hallway to the offices (she remembered them from her first day here with Shin), until she found his office. She took a deep breath; she was a bit nervous about the whole thing. And even after a (not too good) night's sleep, the fight was still too fresh in her memory. She knocked on the door, and opened it halfway. "May I come in?..."

There was a knock at the door. He paused the security tape and turned it off. "Ya come on in." Streak tried to look through the halfway open door. He knew immediately who it was by the voice. "Have a seat." Streak said indicating the chair in front of his desk. "What do ya need? What's on your mind?" Streak asked her. He was pretty sure he knew why she was here, but Streak was going to let Lily start talking. He didn't want to bring up something that she didn't want to talk about.
Jewel walked in and closed the door behind her "Good morning, Shawn" she smiled at him, but still, she looked nervous. She sat down, her hands resting in her lap, and thought for a while - where to begin?... "Um... you must have heard that I brought in a girl last night. Her name is Audrey, and she is a mutant..." she bit her lip "I should've come to you sooner... there are some things you should know. Um... Audrey and I were in a fight yesterday. In New York City..." her speech sped up as she was trying to organize her thoughts "We were in a jewelry shop and we got attacked by... two girls. Mutants. They were after the owner of the shop... he hates mutants, and they wanted to kill him for that. I just... happened to be there. Audrey, too. She fought them, and got hurt, and needed help, so I brought here here..." she took a breath to slow down. "I was out in the city with my parents. Now the police wants to talk to me as soon as possible about what happened... but I thought I'd come to you before I do that." she was silent again for a minute, thinking about what she missed "The owner... he escaped. I got him out of the shop when the fight started... that was pretty much all I could do. So I'm guessing he is with the police now too. The girls threatened to go after his family." She looked really nervous about this last part. The memory of the fight and how scared she was was still quite fresh in her. It was not the violence, or the things she heard... it was the fact she'd never felt so useless before. She looked at Shawn, waiting for him to say something. She really did hope she didn't cause some serious trouble for the Institute...

Streak waited patiently for Lily to start talking. "Morning." he replied. "Ya know I try not to judge people on who they bring to the mansion." Streak said smiling. Of course he wasn't serious but he couldn't help it. He thought it was funny. Hopefully she would to. Lily didn't take long to start explaining the story. "Oh good. Now I know what I can tell the cops whenever they call here." He said a little sarcastically. If the comps wanted to talk to her then he would need to work fast.
With a past history of jewelry thieving, she was not in a good position to deal with the police. "I'm really glad that you came to me first to tell me what happened. You wont be talking to the cops. I'll deal with them. They may not like me very much but I can work people if I need to. We'll get this figured out." Streak thought a minute He needed more information. "What happened to the two that started the attack? What'd they look like? I'd like some details." He knew she had the details she just needed to be asked for them.
"Ya know I try not to judge people on who they bring to the mansion." That earned him a smile. Jewel was much relieved he didn't take the whole thing too seriously. If she doesn't have to talk to the police, even better. She nodded at his question, and tried to remember. "Well, one girl - Audrey says the other one called her Meld, or something like that - she had her limbs made of metal. She had claws on her hand, and one of her eyes was... weird, too. She was the one that slashed Audrey in the fight." Jewel shuddered at the memory. "The other one was... very young. A teenager. And she had this... pink aura that she used to... form weapons. She could cut mostly anything with them." She was silent for a while, thinking about Aura. She still couldn't wrap her mind around someone so young being so cruel. "They were strong and... they were determined to kill Davis. And his family. They talked about how mutants are superior and humans should be all killed..." she looked up "Fade came to the Infirmary. She mentioned some group called the Order. She thinks they belong there..."

Streak didn’t know who the two she described were. He didn’t remember them from when the Order attacked the mansion. Did that mean the Order was doing recruiting? Or were they just getting lucky by finding the right homeless people with powers that hated humans. It also sounded like the Order was having trouble controlling their members. Not that they did much of that anyways.
“Fade’s probably right. Those two sound like the type that the Order would pick up. They wouldn’t follow you here but they’ll probably have a grudge against yall for getting in the way.” Streak said. “I’m sure if you run into them again they won’t be very pleased to see you.” He was a little upset that she’d gotten into trouble but he tried to not let it show. Unfortunately hat was part of life as a mutant. Eat, sleep, poop, and get in trouble for being a mutant. Ah, life.
"I guess not" she agreed with a frown "They wanted to take Audrey with them, though. They said that even though we fought them, we are still mutants, and they offered her medical help. They have a healer, they said." Jewel tried to remember the important things that were said; she was smart enough to know that even though it all seemed a mess to her, some detail might mean more to Streak. "The fact that we are mutants might have been the only reason they let us go alive. I mean, we didn't really stand a chance." she frowned again, she didn't like that part. She bit her lip. "Um... when the fight started, I pulled all I could from the cases - you know, anything my powers could grab. But it's not like I could have done any damage... so, uh, I just... talked our way out of the fight. Kinda."

The information she was giving him was good. It wasn’t very descriptive but it was something that he was able to go with. There was nothing for him to find out on his own. He didn’t need to go searching for the two that she was talking about because if they were part of they Order he had a feeling that he’d see them eventually. Only time needed to pass for him to find them. And if they weren’t with the Order then he doubted that they’d stay quiet for any length of time. “Probably.” Streak agreed. “Although you already turned ‘em down once and I’m pretty sure they wont give you a chance to join them. I’ve dealt with the Order before and neither of them were pleasant meetings.” He told her.
“Ok.” Streak wasn’t exactly sure why she was telling him this. “If you didn’t take anything…You didn’t take any of it right? Then what does it matter if you used your powers. It’s not against the law. They tried to make it against the law once and it didn’t work out to well for the law makers. Anyway, they let yall go because you were mutants. If yall weren’t I get the feeling that you wouldn’t be talking to me right now. Or anyone for that matter. ” This last part was a bit irrelevant but he just a little confused about her last statement.
"No, I didn't take any of it." she shook her head, blushing "I just pulled them for... I don't really know, protection, I guess. When I had to talk, I put them down, so they won't see it as a threat... but I think they took most of it after we left. I don't know if I could have stopped them robbing the shop. I was more concerned about getting the owner and Audrey out alive." She was silent for a while. She looked at Streak. "I told them a lot of things... I just thought I had to keep talking before they... attack us again. And I was scared as hell." she had to admit that, it was the truth.

"Whether they took any of it or not doesn't really matter." He said to her. It was true. The amount that they took didn't matter. Just the fact that she didn't take any made him a little more at ease. Things were going to be going a lot easier now that he knew she wasn't really involved in any theft.
"Look there's nothing wrong with what you did. From what you told me, ya tried to deescalate the situation. There's nothing more you cold have done aside from fighting them and from what you've told me about your powers you're not equipped to do any fighting." Streak said.
"No, I'm definitely not" she agreed with him. She was silent for a while "I told Fade that I was thinking about... maybe I could talk to the owner. You know, he hates mutants... but yesterday he could see two of us helping him anyway, and maybe..." she sighed "I thought I could help him... with my powers, to get his shop back together. As a sign of... good intentions." she smiled a bit "Fade didn't think it's a good idea, and after all I have to agree with her. Maybe I'm just too idealist because I haven't met any mutant haters before." She paused; she wanted to ask something, but she wasn't sure how to do it. She thought about it for a few seconds - then looked at Streak with a slight smile, tilting her head as her usual gesture of curiosity "Shawn, are you an X-man?"

"I have to agree with Fade. I don't think you should go talk to that guy either. Even though both of yall tried to save her. She's not always the most loving of humans, but she does know right from wrong and she is able to help the mutants around here. She also knows when would be a good time to talk with humans." Streak said. He stopped himself before he said anything more about Fade. He didn't want to give Lily the wrong impression of her. Fade was a good person, but just like everyone else in this world she had her flaws.
Lily paused and he looked at her. She looked like she was thinking. He couldn't have been more right. However, he couldn't have expected this next question. His eyes widened at her question. "Umm... Hehe." He didn't know how to answer this. Probably because of his reaction the truth would be better than trying to cover up his surprise with some stupid explanation. "What would make you ask such a thing? But, ya I am. Who told you about the X-Men?" He wasn't upset. At least not yet. But he was a little mostly surprised that someone so new would be able to find out about the X-Men so quickly.
Shawn's reaction was unexpected; for a second, Jewel's face mirrored his surprise. "Well... um, I didn't realize I was not supposed to know. I just..." she paused. how could she explain it? It was her 'thing' to pick up morsels of information from around her; a thing she acquired during an endless row of social events she had to attend since her early childhood. She was what people would call a social butterfly. Overhearing bits an pieces, and putting the puzzle together came to her as a natural talent... One that she inherited from her caring parents, that is. "... it's just some rumors I picked up on." she shifted uncomfortably in her seat "It's not like I know anything about it, except that it's some kind of team inside the school. I already know Fade is one" she added with some hesitation; she did pick up on Streak's curious way of talking about the redhead too. She risked a smile at Shawn. "As for you, I just guessed. You do have a codename, after all."

“It’s not so much that you’re not supposed to know. It’s just that we try to not go around advertising it to everyone here in the mansion. It’s kinda like being in a club where you need the code word to get in. People know, or think they know, it’s around but they never seem sure.” Streak said to her. “Does that make sense? It’s also partly because there always seems to be people that are trying to break in and spy on us. So the less people actually know we’re around the better off and the safer everyone is.”
There were still some things she didn’t seem to understand. But that would all come with time spent at the mansion. He gazed around his office and continued talking. “I’m not the only one that uses a code name. You do to.” He pointed out to Lily. “Mines just kinda become my name and so unless someone brings it up I introduce myself with the code name.”
