The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This feeling was different from any that he had ever felt before. Could this be death? His body was literally smashed to pieces and yet he could still feel every shard, sense every piece of himself. The creature had smashed him to pieces. What could this mean?
He felt his body beginning to defrost as he became just a puddle on the floor but he could still sense everything around him as if all of his senses were still active yet he saw out of every droplet of himself.
He felt the creature near himself and he decided that if he was alive, it was because he wasn´t meant to die. The time limit for his Cryokinesis had worn off and as such he could now move each droplet independently he reformed himself behind the big lion creature that had smashed him to bits.
‘’I’m not done yet, Simba.’’ He said as his body began changing, within 30 seconds another Foo Dog stood in combat, Mimic-Predator was blue and fluent due to his water form but was just as big as the Original Predator. He tried to speak but all he could do was emit some sort of growl.
Without any further notice he lunched himself at Predator turning himself yet again into a jet stream of water wielding his watery fangs and claws ready to tear through him like a drill.

Patiently waiting for the man to make his move something about the officers voice seemed familiar to Bacchus but then again most voices of the NYPD sounded familiar, they all screamed the same way and they all had the screwed up face of pain and anguish when he smashed them with something or killed them. Shaking his hand full of a few dismembered bodies an arm or leg shook loose from his grip as he tightened in and smiled waiting for the lone office to make his move.
"Running is for cowards and dogs like you."
Bacchus blinked once and grinned, “I wasn’t planning on running any where mate,” Slamming the large boney spike into the ground Bacchus started to laugh and said, “Don’t know how I could remind you of a dog…” lifting the bodies in his hand Bacchus tossed one into the other hand and then continued until he started to juggle them small drops of blood and brain matter scattered the air around him creating something like a fiery red wall of protection in front of him, “Never seen dogs juggle, sides I got opposable thumbs and, my bite is far worse than my…” Bacchus’s chest expanded greatly as his lungs filled up with air then focusing on his control over his voice Bacchus caught the dancing bodies in the air and let out a “BARK!” louder than any dog or beast ever produce could some would have said it would be on par with a machine or thunder from a far distance.
As the raindrops of blood and brain matter were pushed forward a bit by his voice Bacchus then threw the four bodies he was juggling at the man who refused to run away. Stupid piggy, the one time the police showed any backbone it was for this, to bad the NYPD was about to loose their gutsiest officer today. Picking up the large ivory white bone Bacchus grinned and javelined chucked it right after the bodies were thrown.
“Sure glad I’m not an officer of the law,” Bacchus quipped in a sarcastic tone followed by a laugh, “They pay you next to nothing and you have to deal with people who constantly hate you, not to mention with beings far superior to them.” Bacchus felt his stomach tighten slightly from the words that just exited his mouth, he had defiantly been hanging out with Isabel for far to long never before did he have illusions of superiority before. Anyways it didn’t really matter the only ones that could hear his comment thought like that, wouldn’t remember or were about to die.
"Is it more honorable to attack someone that's frozen solid than shooting someone when their back is turned?" Chris questioned back. He wasn't about to get angry with her. At least not yet. It would take more than jsut a few smart remarks to make him go crazy and start attacking like a wild animal backed into a corner. Chris ran towards the metal mutant as she ran at him. His gymnastics training took over and when he was close enough he flipped over the girl charging at him. When he was on the other side of her he spun around.
"Nice try babe, but yer gonna have to work harder than that to get me." Fission's thoughts couldn't have been clearer. He hadn't fought very much but he did had the feeling that he would be able to get pretty close to winning this fight. If he didn't wind he would hopefully do enough damage to her that she would be unable to continue fighting. His blasts were sttrong but his punches were stronger whenever he was able to combine his powers with his normal fighting style. Chris wasn't stupid enought to try the same move twice. He was going to wait until she had turned around and started to attack him again before he he attacked her. All he had to do was wait the few seconds it would take for her to turn around.

Meld was ever so briefly distracted by the giant upon the battlefield. It was difficult not to, given his prodigious size and the loudness of his voice. Had she not been distracted she likely would have seen her opponent vault over her in time to stop it or do something about it. When she turned back to her personal battle a moment later, she growled, seeing that her opponent had disappeared. His words from behind her caught her attention and she turned around, lifting her shield arm defensively once again.
"So it seems you have a few tricks up your sleeve," she said grinning. This was going to be more of a challenge, and thus more of an enjoyable fight, than she had expected. He didn't move like an experienced fighter, but given the nature of mutants and their many and varied powers that didn't mean that he wouldn't be able to hold his own against her. She wouldn't give him any more benefit than that.
"It is unfortunate for your, however, that it will not be enough." With those words she began approaching, more slow and deliberate this time. Charging had failed and so it was time for a more methodical approach. She walked forward, never taking her eyes off of her opponent, waiting for an appropriate opening. She wouldn't take any more hasty actions. It had been foolish of her to do so to begin with and she wasn't likely to make the same mistake twice.
"Another frog huh?" she said as she jumped over her and landed behind her, she turned to face him. He was either an idiot or was trying to use words to do the same thing she had tried. Disctraction, it was a good tactic she would have to see just how far she could carru it. "Your really not my type at all, mayb i should have danced with frog legs more, atleast then i had something nice to look at" she snipped back before continueing. "Becides Im not unhappy at all, i quite enjoy this kind of dance, makes carpentry seem a bit dull" she said with a laugh. She figured angst meant u happy or somthing close, weather her comments made sence to her opponent matterd littile though.
The Swat team was hard to miss, and not just becuse Aura liked playing with police, but becuse their were quite a few of them and they all looked the same to Aura. What cought her eye however was a gorgous, a silver spikey haired man. Thw blades he extracted from his cars, wa salmost enough to make her forget about the secound frog of the day. She hoped she could find him after the battile, he could teach her much she beleived. The way he carried himself made him seem use to combat and she had littile faith in the swat members who moronicly turned to face him. Another intresting scene that cought her ears was a very louf rawr from Ginats bane, she had worked with him before, he was good though Aura thought he had issues following orderd, but she liked his juggeling, it was certainly creative.
Sh ehard nothing of Jacens words, as the battile raged, their was simply far to much noice, and excitement in the air. SHe looked at Dom seriously considering him as she looked him over. His power was likely not the same as Kasumi's. In her experince few mutants seemed to have powers that another had and fewer could use them in the same ways. So this one just might have a surprise or to for her and like with ehr other fights she would pace it and see just what he would show her without a stab. "See now, Silve hair over thare is beautiful, you? you look just like the sheep i see every day" she said honestly though not quite conencting his words to anything about sexyness or love. No to her Beauity was a thing found on the battelfeild and in mutant powers. This time her aproach on Dom, was slower more pationt and more prepared, she wanted to catch him with a single good strike, to bring him down quickly, he was a bit more adept them Kasumi in combat, but then kasumi had for some reason thought she would be swayed from her position. This time she would wait for him, her eyes looking ove rthe battelfeild, the mimic guy had now combined his water power with preadtors form, the way to beat him was easy, but not in this kind of envirment, no isolation and being able to beat yourself is what it would take.
His head was ringing from the noise of the mutant's yell and once again Jacen found himself grateful for his helmet. If it hadn't been there to muffle the sound at least a little he might have actually suffered some sort of hearing damage. The Aussie was running off at the mouth as well as chucking yet more body parts and suddenly the law man found himself forced into a crouch, huddled behind his shield as two of the four bodies slammed into it with direct hits. While it hadn't been enough to hurt him Jacen could see a slight discoloration in the clear plastic. It was beginning to bend from the weight and force which meant that there was now a weak point.
"Great... just great."
Out of no where a huge bone suddenly slammed into the plastic, breaking off a chunk in the upper left corner. It had taken out at least a 1-2 foot section and had clipped his shoulder but other than that hadn't really done any damage.
Now was not the time to bandy words around with an overly talkative murder and so Jacen lept to his feet and rushed the man. He could tell the instant his field hit the Aussie and a smirk immediately appeared on his face underneath the ski mask. "How do you like those apples?"
Drawing his taser, Jacen pointed the weapon directly at the Aussie's chest and then fired. He was going to shock that man over and over and if that wasn't enough then he'd have to pull out the big guns. Thankfully he was experienced both in hand to hand as well as baton fighting so the pistol would only come out as a last resort. Of course, with a mutant like this, that last resort might be necessary a lot faster than he would have liked.

(OOC: I don't mind at all )
IC: Kaz repressed a laugh as he listened to the human babble, he even raised his hands and clapped slowly. "Oh how noble of you all. If it wasn't for your quivering voice and the unsnapping of your gun, I might actually have some respect for you." Kaz dropped his arms and sighed. "I gave you your chance, and you spat in my face," Though his mouth was covered, he sneered at the men, "I warned you."
The man to the right of the leader was starting to bring his gun to bare as Kaz 'shot' forward in a silver-blue streak. Only a short distance away Kaz leaped into the air with his feet aimed at the leader's head. When his legs connected, he crouched while moving as his momentum carried him toward the ground. The leader's back arched to an extreme angel as his feet were just beginning to lift off the ground.
Just before his momentum would have carried him out of range, Kaz reached to his back, unsnapped the clasps, and drew the longswords. In two fast, large sweeping arcs, he aimed downward and took off a leg, at the knee, from each man to the left and right of the leader. Just before hitting the ground, Kaz 'stood' up which caused his feet to slam the man's head into the ground with enough force to kill him outright. A small step off the man's head, he turned on a dime, and stepped forward toward the last of the four. He was facing a man with a raised shield and a gun aimed at him. Just before the trigger was pulled Kaz punched forward and let loose a shockwave from his shimmering fist. While it wasn't enough to stop the bullet, it was enough to deflect it off in some random, seemingly harmless direction. The man on the other hand took a small flight backwards while his gun went off somewhere else.
"When will you humans learn: When mutants fight, if you value your lives and health, run the other direction." He spoke to the two one-legged men on the ground. "Now stay down."

Jaxon watched Aura pet the animal and for the first time, that didn’t feel like a violation or a horror. She was simply glad that Aura now knew the she was there and would help her. Jaxon was too far away to hear what the blond boy said to Aura, but could tell he was talking a lot for being in a battle. Backing herself against the wall a little more, Jaxon tried to focus on Aura and protecting her, rather than be distracted by everything else going on. Jaxon missed the grazing blow and hair grab that Aura received, thanks to the other fights going on around her, and grimaced, determined to do better. Thankfully the man who had gone for Aura now seemed involved in a private fight with another man((OOC: Flynn and Ranger)).
The blond boy’s((OOC: Dominic)) jump landed him on the other side of Aura, and the beast Jaxon controlled spun to meet him, it haunches dropping in preparation to pounce, a growl lacing the air around it, lips lifted in a snarl to show flashing teeth.
Jaxon’s gaze was drawn to what looked like a heavy police force trying to enter the area, caught sight of Bacchus who was hard to miss, before jerking her attention back to the blond currently trying to taunt Aura. Her wolf snapped at him, taking a lunging step designed to drive him back rather than actually hit him.
Aura had been given enough time to turn and seemed ready to fight the blond, and Jaxon smiled. She could feel the energy flowing to her demon, the reins of power that lurked in her mind, but it no longer felt like a burden or strain. It felt natural. This must be how other mutant felt, must be how it feels to have control over your own powers.
But the movement of the battle caused Jaxon’s view to be obstructed, and she couldn’t see her friend. With slow steps she moved out of her corner, and pressed against the wall, moving until she got to a point where she could see and, hopefully, be some help.
((OOC: to eliminate confusion about who I'm talking about I put it inside double parenthesis, since IC Jax shouldn't know their names.))

She was breathing, if barely. That was good. Shin's eyes wavered over the form of Kasumi as he reached her. What to do, what to do!? Inwardly, he was screaming, but for all outward appearances all they could see was the serious look in his eye. This was too important to hurl over. The fight was too serious to ignore. Thank God Lee was there, giving out orders. Shin helpfully obliged.
"Right. I've got the legs." He responded. His hands wrapped around Kasumi's lower half, locked in place, and lifted carefully. He tried not to look at where Lee was applying pressure. If he looked, the connection between him and her would snap in too close and cut him. This was... He fought back worried tears as they misted in his eyes... the only way. They had to... her voice stalled his thoughts. His eyes softened.
"Don't be... you were... just doing your best..." His words fell flat as she flopped back into unconsciousness. Her hand fell back to her side. Shin shifted uncomfortably, following Lee's lead as they carried her towards wherever the raven-haired girl's intelligence had directed. He didn't even bother to nod to Dominic and Fission. They had their orders, right? That was fine. They'd clear a path.
A thunderous clatter of hooves without further animal sound drew his eyes up. Were those elephants!? Tarin was in the midst. Lee's procession had stopped. Of course it stopped. Was he alright?! It looked like... his ghosts were protecting him.
"Good. He's safe... but who was that getting tossed around like a tennisball...?" He stared at the two forms on the pavement as the cavalcade of critters popped.
Lee resumed her movement and Shin shirked the question as they approached Slate. Lee addressed the blue-eyed basketballer like she'd gotten the information about the brawl from him and Shin frowned.
"So, was it you who told Sam to call us all here... what exactly is going on here..." He lowered Kasumi to the ground gently, without breaking his lock on Slate's face. If Slate had been the one to organize this, he had some explaining to do...
Hyde had dodged the knife that was hurled at him, which given the mans military experience and training as a US Army Ranger was not a big shock. Neither was the fact that Hyde also drew his own sidearm, only to face the Ranger's.
"Hey watch it with the pigsticker, someone could lose an eye, namely me."
"One could say the same of yours."
He then watched as Hyde walked in a circle around him, carrying on about how he took a bullet for him and that some mutant is doing this. Which of course did make some sense, Occam's razor dictated that Hyde was in fact his friend as his judgment of Hyde as a terrorist requires to many leaps in logic. Yet, he still felt cautious towards Hyde. He would play along and consider this at a later time where standing deep in thought could cost him his head.
The Ranger lowered his gun and stood there, no longer watching Hyde as he turned. "Alright Hyde, Occam's razor points to your theory." He then surveys the battle area, there are many more now than when he arrived. Police have shown up in riot gear, there is a giant water thing that looks like the lion thing he fought briefly, and there is a bone wall...How odd.
Hyde breathed a sigh of relief at somehow being able to talk Ranger out of his delusion. He thought a quick second at Ranger's question and decided.
"Well we aren't doing any good out here. Let's see what the X's want from inside. I think a group of X-men went inside. Let's split up and..."
It was then that he saw the guy he believed to be Wraith. His body looked pretty messed up from being trampled. "Holy #$%@! Forget that! We do damage control. We get the wounded out of the way and over to the cops. They are bound to have ambulances." The roar of Giant's Bane caused Hyde to shudder a moment. A quick glance showed him the gory details of the large mutant's destructive energy. He watched in horror as the massive mutant launched a body toward the SWAT officer. A Body! Such disregard for life. Well, It was time to take the fight to those that were doing the most evil.
He rolled the list off in his mind. The Giant, girl that made the pink drill, guy who made animals out of himself, whoever was launching body parts from the building, Meld for being along with the pinko. There were probably more but those would have to do for now.
"Ranger. I think it's time to go live." Hyde swapped out his ammo pack for live rounds and slammed the magazine home. "Shoot to wound. concentrate fire on the giant first. He isn't thinking about us and if we kneecap him the SWAT guys might have a better chance of handling him. It sure would be nice if we could blind..Waitaminnit!" Hyde rummaged around in his belt and pulled out the pepper spray bombs and tossed them over to Ranger. "Here take these. Throw them in the giant''s eyes when he turns after I shoot him in the kneecap. It'll be a long throw so I figure yer the man for the job."
Hyde went into motion after that. No one was really paying attention to the pair, figuring they were fighting it out. Making the most of the confusion was what they had to do. If they could clear out the giant, then they could get Wrath and any others over to ambulances that surely were over by the cops. He began computing the trajectory and distances needed to get a good shot into the back of the knee and blasting out of the front side without hurting anyone.
Hyde got to thinking on his way over toward the giant and realized that he probably should fire from a stealthy position. All of a sudden he went invisible. It was like some sort of dam broke in the back of his mind. He made it over to a tree near the edge of the compound, a good ten feet from the giant. He had to avoid the creature's cast off blood and brain spatter. A few loose drops would negate his invisibility. He watched as the giant threw the bone spike at the officer. Then he made his move, firing two shots, one at each of the brute's kneecaps.
"Frog? Get it right sister, jumping spider!" Domini c replied. Then he cocked his head giving the aura girl a confused look. How was he not her type? Nice blond hair, blue eyes, nice build, he was the perfect all American boy...then she mentioned fog legs and having something nice to look at. By frog legs he assumed she meant Kasumi. "Why the heck would you wanna look at her....Oh. I see, you're one of those kind of girls. Thats too bad. You're really cute...." he sighed looking back at her with a smile.
"You sure have a strange way of appreciating beauty, going around drilling holes in pretty girls. Now I'm afraid I will have to return the favor. I really disapprove of hitting women, but I'll plead self defense and besides there's nothing lady like about hurting others and taking lives. Where there is life, there is a roar in justice!" he continued mouthing off to the aura blade wielding girl until he found himself confronted by some kind of beast growling at him. "Uh..this is not good. Two against one is so unfair..." Dominic said backing away from Aura and Jaxon's creature, with his hands raised in an "I' didn't do anything" gesture. "Note to self...If I survive...next time there is a huge battle royale full of mutants out side a pharmaceutical plant...just walk the other way..." he spoke to himself. Then he thought for a minute...why should he be scared of these two? He had enough power to crush them. First he would get rid of the less threatening of the two.
"Alright...Donkey Kong smash!" he yelled summoning his gorilla strength running forward to swing a fist at Jaxon's demon[/color]"

Jaxon only caught some of what the blond said to Aura, but it was enough to make her scowl. She didn't like him making fun of Aura or judging her. Narrowing her eyes, she crept a bit closer, then settled against the wall again to feed power and command to the wolf beast.
The demon felt the emotion coming off Jaxon and didn’t lift its own gaze from the boy-child, instead glaring at him through unreal red eyes. If the beast had ears they would have been flattened against the back of his head in anger. The boy backed away and for a moment it seemed as if he would leave.
But instead of leaving, he made the foolish choice of rushing a demon. The beast’s eyes flickered, catching the small muscle movements that gave away his actions, and he snarled, taking a slight step away from Aura. As saliva dripped from his teeth, the beast shivered, and much like a normal wolf its hackles raised. The only difference between Jaxon’s beast and a natural one? The long hairs on its body stood straight up and became razor sharp and needle like, looking like a dangerous pin-cushion.
Strange how fur that had been soft enough to grant Aura a pat without a scratch on her now stood ready to pierce anything that came in contact with it. Jaxon shivered. Somehow the beast had transferred the feeling that came with its little fur trick and Jax could feel every hair on her body standing on end, though not to the extent of her pet. She hadn’t known it could do that, but each animal was a surprise and this one was no exception.
Bracing for an impact the beast knew was coming, it readied itself for its own counter attack, its red eyes glinting. Jaxon wanted to roll her eyes at the boy’s ‘battle cry’ but she didn’t dare take her eyes off the scene in front of her. Not now…
((ooc: For the skim readers amongst us: Luke/Wraith and Kasumi are now fully healed. Calley is unconscious on the ground; leave him there, because he has a date with a police paddywagon. Sorry for the delay in posts! I’m back from Fuji and healthy(ish) again!))
There were more important things to think about than Kaz. In any general situation, this fact held to be true. This was not a biased fact: it was simply an analysis, based upon past experience.
>> “So I take it the family picnic didn’t go as planned?”
Witness the attempt at wit, in the middle of a battle. The man then went off to slip into his My Little Battlegear™. This left Slate with more worthy things to do than fill the elf in on business that was not his.
Shin and Lee had found him, with the aid of Tarin’s ghosts. They had brought him a present wrapped in red.
>> “I thought you said 'a little trouble', Slate.”
>> "So, was it you who told Sam to call us all here... what exactly is going on here..."
Slate gave an acknowledging nod to both of them, but presumed they would forgive his lack of answer. Priorities. Lee was aware that he had them; he had displayed them to a rather uncomfortable degree before her in Colombia.
His hands went to the little frog girl. Images: a happy family in a state rather colder than New York; a girl she had naively thought was her friend, despite their clear differences in views; the moment before the fatal wound. When Slate drew back, the girl’s memories grayed out of his mind. She was left on the ground, healed. Like the other person he had healed, when she would awaken—and in what mental state—was out of his realm.
The police had arrived. And Kaz had dislegged two of them, among other transgressions. One of these transgressions shot Slate in the shoulder.
For a moment, he stared down at the red blossom where the deflected bullet had passed through. Then, without bothering to heal it, he stood up. He took several very clear strides. And he attempted to place himself in the elf’s face.
Kaz had once told him—during their only real meeting, as a point of fact—that Slate ‘irriated the hell out of him’. Suffice it to say that the feeling bordered closely upon mutual.
“Please,” the Kabal’s bleeding Leader enunciated quite clearly, in case the man’s intelligence infringed upon his hearing, “go away. You are not helping. You are merely prancing around in defensive appearance-hiding armor, displaying your two-fold lack of confidence to the world as your ignorance of the situation unfurls in a banner above your head. Some of us would like to retain meaning in our actions. You are not—” He swayed slightly on his feet. Ah, right: the bullet wound.
He healed that.
“—helping.” Slate finished, as the SWAT members made horrible noises at his feet. Once those stopped, they would be either unconscious or dead. He hoped for the former. Then, he could heal them.

After replacing his swords in their sheaths, Kaz hadn't moved more than a few feet toward the next group of humans before he heard someone walking toward him. He turned around and looked down at the winner of the Calley look-alike contest, Slate. He caught the scent of the man's blood quickly and saw where the wound was as he began to speak. Kaz wore a bored expression the entire time, even while he attempted to insult him.
"Oh yes, I felt like dressing up a bit. It's obvious being prepared and taking precautions is the same thing has having a lack of confidence. With thinking like that it's no wonder this attack looks so haphazard. It's like a barroom brawl out here, just on a mutant scale. Add in some slow-to-learn humans and you get a slaughter on your hands. When mutants fight, they should be as far away as they can, they're completely outclassed and only put themselves in unnecessary danger." Kaz motioned to the security guard corpses that littered the ground. "If they learned that, they wouldn't have to die needlessly. I'll drill it into them until they learn. Besides, if I can deal with them, or keep their attention off of them," He nodded in the direction of the mutant brawlers, "The less chance the humans could harm them."
Kaz stepped away from Slate. "I know what I'm doing, you obviously don't yourself. So why don't you go back over there and rest until others need healing." He waved his hand in a small arc that encompassed Slate and the wounded. "Your recklessness and stupidity have guaranteed others are going to be harmed, possibly as bad as that girl, or worse." At that he turned his back on the man and took a few steps away to look for his next stop.
