The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He smiled as she obviously liked the place. 'Thought she would.' Calling back to her, "You can pick any room you'd like my dear. Tricity will have forms for you to fill out when you see her. Don't worry about those though. Just make yourself at home."
He had pulled his pen, cell phone and chap stick from his pocket and having them float in the air. one by one, he began to make each spin. One by one, they began to spin in place, while flipping virticly, next each began to twist horizontaly. While he was good at controling one object at a time, he wanted and knew he needed to learn how to control multiple objects at once, this is the exercise he came up with.
Once the three objects had full speed and full star rotation, he began to move them closer and closer together. He still had full control over their movements, while moving them closer, he has to make sure the movements of one does not interfear with another, while keeping the same speed and rotation going. The three objects seemed to bob and weave next to the others. The motion took on a liquid look. Eldwyn could tell there was something wrong. Just before he stopped them, he lost control. The chapstick colided with the cellphone, rebounding and was hit by the pen. It went flying down the girls' hallway, crashing halfway down, skidding a few feet on the ground Sighing, he slowed the other two, which had lost their momentum and patern. As soon as they stopped he put them away. He looked at the chapstick and shook his head lightly. Smiling softly, "That went better than last time, lasted longer." Pausing, he wiped his brow. "Ooh, kinda worked up a small sweat, heh." Just then he realized he didn't remember seeing Evie go back into the room. 'Oh, you probably just looked stupid. She probably thinks you decided to blow her off.' Slowly he lifted his gaze to see if she was still there.

"Sweetness." She smirked before she picked up her bag and threw it at the bed. Right before it hit the bed, she used her power to make it stop and then slowly drop down on the soft bed. When she turned around, she saw the chapstick fly down the hall and heard him say that the 'last time' was better. Her smirk turned into a smile and she lifted up the chapstick with her gravitational pull.
"I've been working on trying to make objects move left from right, but I can only really manipulate where the gravitational pull is, so I can only make it go diagnal." Great, that made no sense, explain it better . She thought before her second attempt to explain her progress was spoken; "Well, I mean, I can, let's say, make this side of the chapstick higher so it naturally slides down at an angle and I just have to guess where it will end up because I can't make it go diagnally up, or at least, not yet. Did I explain that better?" She asked, she was still afraid that he didn't get it and she looked like an idiot. The chapstick flew diagnally down and she caught it around her knees and made it hover above her hand.

He smiled at her as he saw her pick up the chapstick, glad he hadn't embarassed himself. He listened to her explain more of her ability. 'Well, that makes sense, as much as it can when I don't really get it in the first place, heh.' He smiled, just before he spoke, she began to re-explain. 'Oiy..um..now I'm lost...'
As light hearted as he could, he walked over to her and spoke, "I think you over explained yourself sweetie." He put his hand on her shoulder, fully supportive and happy. "But, I think I get it. As much as this noggin of mine will let me." With that he rapped lightly on his head with his knuckles while sticking his tounge out just slightly as he closed his eyes.
The silly face fell fairly quckly and was replaced by a currious lool. "Though.." He paused as a thought crossed his mind. "I won't assume to understand how you use your ability, but if I use my own as a sort of reference, it seems like you make points of gravity." With that he floated the chapstick to rest infront of them, along with the cell phone below it about a foot, and the ben above it the same distance. "With the pen and phone repersenting points, like magnets to repel and attract, you get the chapstick to go up," The chapstick moved up slightly, "And down." It sank a few inches. "Seems your goal would be to move one of the points to the side," The cellphone moved on the axis 90 degreese and was now parallel with the floor. "And attract the object while moving it up or down with the other point."
"Well, at least thats sorta how I started out. I don't quiet get gravity, it gets to my brain how it holds us down here, yet the earth floats in space. I just think about hands grabbing things and using pullies and stuff like that. Simple, hehe." With that he gave her his best innocent kid smile.
Evie scratched her head and half smiled in a kind of 'sorry-I-can't explain-it-well' look. But when he made the funny face, she couldn't help but smile. "I thought that I should do some research on gravitational pulls so I can better understand my power. You know? Maybe just try and figure out what science can tell me and manipulate it to fit my power. That didn't make much sense either, I'm sorry for confusing you so much." The 'sorry-I-can't-explain-it-well look crossed her face again and she scratched the back of her neck.
"I guess the best thing to do now is to shut up." She shut her mouth then and watched him do the trick with his chapstick, phone, and pen.

"Ya know, that's a really good thought. Looking up gravitational pulls and the like." When he finished with his little trick, "What would you like to do? See Miss.Tricity, or go around the mansion?"
Evie smiled at Eldwyn and just said " Can we look around the mansion before I go? I don't know the area and I'd just like it if maybe I was to look around and see how great this life will be instead of my last one." Now she was stuck, she couldn't think of anything else to say. Well, maybe if she just asked about the rooms, and how nice they were. It was decided, she was to ask about the others rooms. "So this life better than your last one?" Whoops, that wasn't the right question, it just kind of flowed out of her mouth. "Sorry, I shouldn't have asked that."

He chucked softly. "Of corse."
'Sorry, I shouldn't have asked that.' She seemed slighty embarassed, maybe he read it wrong, either way, it was still cute.
"It's not a problem. I don't mind answering questions." Shrugging slightly, "Besides, how can I expect anyone to trust me if I hide things?" He held his arm out in a traditonal > shape for her to hold. "How about the living room first, nice little chill spot." He smiled to her, "My old life, hmm. Yeah, I'd have to say having a home is much better than wandering the streets and living in shady, run-down, under the table rooms for rent." He spoke as they walked down the stairs towards the living room. "Would it be intrusive if I asked about your life before now?"
“I’m sorry.” She had never really met anyone that lived off of the streets, well, not actually just sat down and talked to them. There was the occasional homeless person that she spared money to but none had been as modest as Eldwyn was. Evie took his hand and nodded, “The living room will be good.”
“Oh, it’s not intrusive at all, it’s fair.” She paused, trying to think of the best way to sum up her past. “I’m here because my dad,” She spat the word as if it was a curse, “he’s a sociopath. Before I came here, he tried to kill me, but I used my power on him so he couldn’t. But then everyone heard about it and I wasn’t accepted for using my power in self-defense against him . My mom said that she had been hiding something from here so that he wouldn’t find out I was a mutant, so I came here. It’s a past I really hate, but I’m sure everyone has a piece of their past they hate, or we wouldn’t be the people we are today.” Her gaze went to the floor as memories of that terrible night flooded her mind.

'I'm sorry.'
"Hmm? Oh, don't be. You didn't cause it." He smiled brightly at her. "Besides I choose it. I count myself lucky as well. Not only did I learn how to survive on my own real quick, I've traveled to many places in the few years I wandered. Most of all, I got out and found this place."
They had reached the living room. Large windows, beautiful curtains, big screen TV, sterio. Not to mention the large comfy plush couch and chairs. A fireplace agaist the far wall. A grand piano in the corner.
She began to tell him about her past, his heart went out to her. 'That's horrible. Trying to kill his own daughter. Hope he got what was coming to him.' When her gaze dropped, he embraced her, gently holding her in his arms. He didn't say anything at first, but when he did, he spoke softly so only she would hear. "I'm very sorry for what you went through. It's horrible and you didn't deserve it." Pausing for a moment, "I'd like you to remember something. Though your past is your past and will always be with you, from the moment you stepped through the gates, you began a new life, with a new home, and a new family." He stepped back a bit and looked at her. A lock of hair had fallen over her face. Brushing it behind her ear and smiled at her, "No matter what, if you feel like talking, there'll always be someone here for you, including me."
Evie's eyes widened when he embraced her, she wasn't too used to such kindness. It was kinda shocking, but she accepted it and her eyes closed as she returned the hug. When he whispered that in her ear, she smiled. It was true, even though she'd have to live with the memory of her past, it was still just a memory and not a current situation and with her father behind bars, she wouldn't have to worry about him any more. She was starting a new life, writing a new chapter of her book, and this is what Evie needed most desperately in her life, a new one. Immediately after he let go of her, it seemed as though the weight of the world was no longer on her shoulders and she could breathe better knowing that someone was there for her.
Her mind searched for what to say in return, but words cannot describe gratitude, or at least not the amount she held for Wyn. Finally, her mind decided on the two words that, by saying so little, can say much more just by the way she said it; "Thank you."

'Thank you.'
There are times when words aren't right, so he didn't say anything back. Instead, he looked at her with a soft comferting, understanding smile, and nodded his head slowly, his eyes closed. His expression and action was the equivilent to 'you're welcome', when words would demean and lessen what had just happened.
He took her hand in his gently, and began to lead her toward the dining room and kitchen.
A mental sigh of relief ran from her brain to her fingertips and toes as he understood that words would not come close to expressing her feelings at this moment. It was an odd time, leaving the house, out on her own, away from her father, away from all of those that hated her and judged her based on what she was instead of who she was. Evie held his hand as they walked on.
There was a comforting air from this one. Almost as if he had the power to give her relief and not be so uptight and secretitive. She felt as though she could trust him with, well, not quite with anything, but with a matter such as that concerning her father and those angry parents that were so quick to judge her. The would would be so much better if people would just stop and look at the person next to themm truely concerned for them and willing to listen to them. Eldwyn had to have been the first person that Evie had ever met that acted like this, to tell the truth, Evie thought that there weren't any more nice people in the world, that she was all alone, doomed to be judged and outcast.

"Here it is." They entered the dining room. Quite a large room, many tables to seat plenty of people with ease."It's not the grandest of places in the house, but everyone has to have a place to eat right? Come to think of it, I didn't eat at all the first day I got here. Too nervous I guess." He shrugged slightly. "Did you leave anyone, special to you, behind where you're from? Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking." His reason for asking could probably be figured out easily.
"No one back home really cared about me, except for my mom. I think this is better for her though, since she doesn't have to deal with everyone that yells at me and she doesn't have to deal with him. You know? It's just better. Oh, and I'm from Colorado, home of the Rocky Mountains and tons of snow days." Evie smiled, she missed Colorado, not anyone from it, at this time, other than her mother, but she did miss the state and the people (not individuals) were generally very nice, warm, and welcoming. Well, unless you're a mutant that protected your life by hurting your father, of course.

"Hmm, I see. Well, I guess that means you won't feel homesick for anyone there, besides your mother. Though you could write her or email her." Thinking back to his home town, "Ya know, back in Minnesota, no matter what city I was in, I never once had a snow day. I'm just a bit jealous of you." He chuckled at laughed. "All we had was a lot of lakes and crazy weather. Sometimes we'd have summer in winter, or winter in summer."
He walked toward the kitchen door, "We've seen where you eat, now to see where the food comes from." He pushed the door open slightly, then stopped suddenly. A quizical look crossed his face. He stepped away from the door after shutting it gently and quietly. "Umm, there are some people in there. They seem to be talking about something private-like, sorta sounded like Raph from earlier." He had a lost look on his face for a minute or so. "What do you say to checking out the library? It's rather impressive I must say."
