The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Whew" The sound echoed through the danger room, and the source was an exhausted David. He had been training all day, training all week, training hard. It had been awhile since he started doing parkour. He quit when he started traveling, seemed like there was no need.
Then he went and joined the mansion, and since then he has relied on his brain. It wasn't since the thunder dome he realized how he had been ignoring it all. He barely won, and if he had stayed he would not have lasted. It was the visions though, the remnants of that virus, rocking David's morals.
It was this that gave David a reason to train, and train he will, in front of him lay a training course, something David programmed in himself. He never imagined he would have resources like this, a room in which he can train himself in every aspect, that coupled with the ability of being able to download the raw training data made things much easier. Learn what he needed to do, then train until he could do it. He wondered what the rest of the mansion was doing, maybe in class. He grabbed a water bottle and took a long drink from it, then sat himself down.
A soft clicking noise sounded from down the hall as Fade made her way to her old training room. Oh if only she had her X-Uniform, the Danger Room would be much more inviting. But she was in light sweats and a cami, her vibrant red hair had been pulled back in a pony tail to keep out of her way and her shoes were double knotted, just for safety. Although she had not been officially invited back into the X-Men, she thought she would just do some training. Drunken brawls with things she would trip over hardly sufficed as training.
Had it really been a year since she had worked a sweat in the room ahead of her? Obviously so, for when the door opened, an unfamiliar mutant was sitting with his water bottle. Perhaps another that prefered individual training. "Oh, didn't realize the room was occupied," she stopped, but then shrugged and entered. At least she could ask if she could join, if he was still training, that is. "You still training?"
David rested his head back on the wall and stared at the ceiling, he was just about finished with his break when suddenly the danger room doors opened. He jumped a bit at first, though wasn't sure why, he was allowed in here, and wasn't breaking any rules.
"hi" he said to the girl. "Uhmm yeah, but if you want to join that would be great, it's a little more fun when their are other people." He said giving her an inviting smile. He was hoping she would join, it felt like it had been awhile since joked around with another person, and he still barely knew anybody in the mansion.

Mettaliar took off his trench coat, revealing his black sleeveless training shirt and cracked his neck. He remembered this room. The last time he was here he was getting proper training from the head of the place. He sighed and did a few minor stretches before walking upstairs to set the training program. He ran up the stairs a bit to get the blood flowing quickly. When he got there he saw that there was already a program running. He tilted his head a bit and walked over to the glass window to see who was training. He felt weird walking in on a training sequence. He knew how weird he would feel if while training someone suddenly walked in on him.
Surprisingly, two mutants were down there. He recognized the red-haired disappearing Fade, yet the other one was a mystery to him. He looked on a bit trying to think of who it could be, yet failed. From what he saw, they had been on break. Or more, the man sitting down was on break. Fade looked like she had just walked in as well. He nodded his head and decided to see if he could join in too. He rushed downstairs and opened the door.
"Room for one more?" He asked quite suddenly walking in with his hands around his waist. He leaned against the wall and waited for a response. Hopefully he wouldn't have to wait long if they denied his request. He wanted to get some training in quickly to get himself back into peak shape.
A smile skittered across his face when he allowed her to join him. "My name is Fade, by the way," she smiled, introductions would probably be best before training with another. "What were you training against? I'm up for anything, exept maybe Ultimate-You're-Gonna-Die Program." Just as she was getting into her usual lame joke exercise, a familiar face showed up, asking to join them.
"Oh hey, Mettaliar," she acknowledged him. Since she had just been admitted, she thought it would be best to let the guy she had just walked in on. A group routine would be nice, something that she hadn't done in a while, then again...she hadn't been in the Danger Room for a while anyways. It would be a lovely train through memory lane. "I didn't catch your name," she asked the one that admitted her. If she was to fight alongside someone, she'd love to be able to say 'hey Mett, look out' instead of 'hey...guy? watch your back', not quite respectful.
The smile stayed on David's face as the girl introduced herself "Hi Fade." He looked across the room, trying to think of the best way to describe it. "Well it's just sort of a custom course I programmed in, it's supposed to help make me faster and more agile, though some parts are a bit harder then I thought." He said with a laugh. It was the truth though, in his mind he programmed it for a challenge, and after seeing videos of those who were much better then him he may have bitten off more then he could chew.
The course itself looked pretty plain, almost like an obstacle course one would find for a bootcamp, the difference was this was a bit harder. The beginning was a two story building, the first floor was just a wall, one would have to actually run up it to reach the top, the next level would be reached by hopping off an air conditioning unit. Once on the roof the runner would be confronted with a large gap, on the other side was another two story building, connecting the two was a long metal pole, not even a foot wide. Past that the real challenge begins, something David has still yet to pass. He also programmed a little motivation to go fast, something learned from watching too many movies.
His thoughts were cut off when another person came in asking to join. "Sure thing Mr. Mettaliar." He said giving the man a nod. He was excited to get started, he hadn't tried it with other people before, and in his excitement he had forgotten to introduce himself. "Oh, hehe, sorry about that. My name is David."

Mettaliar nodded at Fade and than at the new man, who had introduced himself as David. He seemed like a nice guy. giving Mettaliar a chuckle by adding "Mr." to his name. He had walked in on them talking about the training regiment apparently, as Mettaliar looked on at the course that was programmed. Looked like an obstacle course of sorts, which was different. All of Mettaliar's experiences have been of sparring with another person in some simulated terrain. Yet, the idea of an advanced obstacle course deffinatly sparked his interests of the future of training here. Hopefully he'd get used to it before he attempted to try out for the X-Men. The worst thing he could do is anticipate joining the X-Men than failing. He had to be strong before he attempted to join.
"So, you programmed this yourself, David?" he asked. He decided to try to be friendly and talk to someone before training with him. "Seems like a tough system. Have you already completed it all?" It would be interesting if he did. That would show how strong David was and show how strong he would have to be.
Just as she had expected, David allowed Mettaliar to join them. So it was an obstacle course? This would be interesting, Fade had usually spent hours in the Danger Room fighting off robots and such, she'd never really done an obstacle. Unfortunately, she was not very good at jumping and it sounded like there would be alot of jumping from building to building. Looks like she'd have to do a lot of quick climbing instead, but it was her specialty. After all, she had seemed to master the appearance of skittering across ceilings and walls like a spider.
"Nice to meet you, David," she smiled before looking around to see what she was up to. The bar would be the toughest part, but it sounded like there was a mystery surprise at the end that was hard for a male to pass, so how on Earth would she pass? "Sounds like a lot of fun, I'm definitely up for it." A quick glance down at her shoes told her they were nice and tied tight, she didn't have to worry about them. Her claws stuck out from them, but they were to her advantage, shoe soles to keep rocks from stabbing her and claws to climb, oh what fun.
"Yup" He replied to Mettliar. He looked around the room proudly, t really wasn't much to look at, not much detail at all, but he still liked it. He was looking across the course when the man brought up whether he had beaten it yet. "Well... not yet." He said turning to face the two. "It gets hard, and you have to move fast." He said, trying to defend himself for not being able to complete his own program. "There is sort of a time limit effect, the course falls apart behind you, so if you don't move fast enough it will fall out from under you."
He just stood there for a sec, knowing that was an odd thing to program in, but it was something that really added to the excitement. "It's all set up so we can run it now if you want."

Mettaliar got off leaning on the wall and stared at the buildings as he took a deep breath. He nodded his head at David who had admitted to not completing his course. While he tried to rationalize it, he understood that this course was meant to challenge, not just pass. "You deffinatly programmed a crazy course, David. I probably won't complete it either. Maybe Fade, but who knows."
As David offered to start the course, Mettaliar cracked his neck and jump around a bit, getting warmed up. "Fine by me. I'm ready to go. As long as you two are." He looked back at David and Fade and grinned slightly. He was ready for this. Time to test himself against a course he didn't know. The element of surprise is one that is best to train yourself in, both with it and against it. This could be one of the biggest surprises of all.
In her prime, Fade was able to climb up walls quickly, run as fast as she could humanly master, jump far, and do this for a fairly good amount of time. Her life back on the streets didn't give her access to the gym, and she was never in any kind of mood to go on a run, or just stay in shape. Sad to say, she was hardly in any good shape at all. While the two were exchanging conversation on the program and how they thought they would do, Fade thought it best not to brag just so she could fail but also not to pity herself in case she passed. Best if she just did the damn course and then decided how much more training she needed.
David told them that the program was ready and Fade smirked, ready for action. A few stretches before the routine would decrease the possibility of injuries, and Lord knows, she didn't want to get hurt first day back in the Danger Room. "Right then, shall we? On your word, David," she said before taking her stance in front of the building, her claws at the ready to begin climbing.
"Thanks" He said to Mettaliar, he walked over to the console and started punching in some commands, setting the room up for another go. After a few quick moments he rejoined the group. "Ok it's about to begin." He said lining up about ten feet behind the first wall. He bent down to make sure his shoes were tight, then took a few deep breathes.
This was it, he had done the course before, and failed, but that was when he was alone. It was different now, people were watching, he felt a little anxious. "The course won't begin to fall out till we reach the top of the platform, once that happens there is no turning back." He was nervously waiting for the buzzer to mark the beginning of the course. He lowered himself to the ground, then suddenly it went off. David ran all out to the first wall, jumping off one foot and managing to run a few steps up it, high enough to pull himself the rest of the way.

Mettaliar bent his knees slightly as David started the program up. He didn't know what to expect, mostly he'd wait until David and Fade went until he would go. David explained the course a bit more as Mettaliar nodded his head. At least he'd know what to expect. As soon as he'd gotten to the top he wouldn't be able to rest. He would have to quickly move if he was going to make it through the course. He cracked his neck and got down lower, staring at the wall he was preparing to climb. It reminded him of the fact that he didn't know EXACTLY what to do when the course started. He gulped and tried to formulate a plan in his mind, yet he didn't have time to think, as the loud buzzer sound hinted to him that it was time to start, while the moving of David proved this thesis.
He began running himself. While doing that he figured that he would somewhat cheat. Though he figured it wouldn't be cheating as this was a way to train your powers anyway. He quickly lifted his hands and made a very long staff. As he approached the wall, he vaulted himself with it, getting a pretty good length up. As he closed in on the wall, he let go and grabbed onto the wall and started pulling himself up. He smiled at his accomplishment and kept going.
While she waited for the rest, slightly anxious to see just how much work she needed. A buzzer went off and blinked for a second, smirking before beginning her training. Right as the two boys sprinted forward, Fade took a breath and sped from her position. The first building towered over the redhead and she lept as high as she could before grabbing ahold of the wall and phasing her claws into it. With little effort, she crawled to the top just as Mettaliar flew over her head.
The next seemed to be a gap she needed to jump. One thing she hated, jumping gaps. Running forward as fast as she could, she lept off of her feet and landed on the air...thingy...with her hands before pushing off and flipping in the air. She landed a bit down further from the top of the second building, but she landed right side up, so she just climbed back up and continued. If only most training programs were like playgrounds, where the hell was the curly slide?
The two of them seemed to be having a good time, blazing right through the obstacles with powers of their own. David ran right behind Fade onto the air conditioner, while Fade went to jump it, David kicked off it then took a few steps on the wall to reach the other building, not as flashy but gets the job done. He rolled up onto the top of the building and turned back towards the beginning.
With the two of them up top the course was beginning to catch up with them, now was when they had to really get moving. He ran up to the long horizontal pole, this was always a challenge for him. He walked up to it, and slowly crouched down into a catwalk. He began crossing slowly, but could feel the time running out, he started speeding up, one step at a time. His mind concentrated on the end of the pole, not wanting to look down. After a few agonizing moments he crossed the gap and reached the end. At the end was a zip line leading to the ground, and the next section of the course. He grabbed one of the handles off the ground, hooked it around the wire, and flung himself speeding to the ground.
