The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mettaliar helped Fade by grabbing her hand. His arm suddenly began to hurt badly, yet it was the arm he was helping Fade with, so he couldn't stop and let go, as much as he knew it wasn't really necessary for him to help. After Fade and him dropped to the floor, he ran after her and checked his arm in the process. Nothing too bad, just a few scratches that could maybe bleed, however nothing that was strange or new to him. He was totally fine, yet now knowing never to get into a fist fight with Fade. Her claws were way too intimidating to him at this point in time. Something he DEFFINATLY would keep in mind for the future.
He putt hat all to rest as he approached the beginning of the apparent last obstacle. He went against the wall along with Fade and David. Noticing something was wrong, David was quick to explain the situation. Mettaliar lowered his head when David mentioned that the collapsing would speed up once the tunnel began. Faster? Oh man, talk about being blindsided. Quickly, he jumped in ahead of Fade and into the tunnel. He did NOT expect to have the room spinning on him. His balance was off, yet he remembered Davids word and kept moving. He wanted to turn and see how Fade was doing, yet again he remembered that he would have time to stop and look. He would have to trust Fade could do it on her own. She was an X-Man, after all. He quickly hopped over the first obstacle and hurried to the next one.
David sounded tired and anxious when he explained what was ahead. Gaps? Twirlies? Walls? This was an amusement park to the young redhead phaser. She let the two jump on ahead and she looked around the tunnel, sort of taking her time to plan out her route. Even though she wouldn't stop to plan out a route in a battle, it seemed like a good idea for now. For a second, Mettaliar turned around to make sure she was coming. Aw, that was cute. He's looking out for her! She lifted her hand in a 'go ahead' motion before leaping into the tunnel.
The second she landed, her claws phased into the ground and clung on tightly as the ground began to move. She began running perfectly fine. A few times she clung to the walls. Her claws were constantly in and out of the tunnel walls. To be perfectly honest, she looked like a hampster in it's hampster wheel. Funny. "Well you can't have a rush without the rapids," she joked as she passed Mettaliar, clawing onto the walls everytime her foot fell through the bottom of the tunnel. "I want one of these!" she called out to David while laughing and phasing around.
Mettaliar had was right behind him, both moving pretty fast. He was still very nervous, this was where he always seemed to lose, the maze would slow him down, and then he would never be able to get through here in time. Always failing at the end, very frustrating. His mind was distracted by thoughts of past failures, but he was snapped back when he stepped on one of the tiles, and it gave out. Luckily the tunnel had been nearly on it's side, so he didn't fall much, and managed to quickly roll out of it.
"Ow" He grunted as he continued on the obstacle in front of him was larger then the rest, marking the halfway point. He ran up one side of the tunnel and managed to throw himself over the top and dodging a gap. He picked out the gaps ahead, the obstacles, mentally planning a route to take. He had it worked out, and jumped the next wall, though didn't notice the gap right after it. He fell into, his chest slamming into the floor. He was able to hang on though, not letting himself fall all the way out. "Just have to hang on." He thought as the tunnel spun, he had to wait for it to turn upside down, but the thought of waiting just gnawed at him.

Mettaliar looked at David as he moved through the course. He seemed nervous and anxious. He was deffinatly unsure of himself. Maybe the course was random at some parts? Mettaliar had now idea, with both helped and hurt him. It helped because it made the course more realistic. Most adventures don't have the whole course laid out in front of him before he goes in. Learning to expect the unexpected and to confront obstacles at the blink of an eye was the best way to get truly ready for any sort of mission that may come to him. It hurt him because, of course, it made it harder. He couldn't trust the guidance of David for the right path. He had to take some responsibility for himself and figure things out on his own with his own logic and brain power. He had to not doubt himself now. That would certainly lead to doom, as Sun Tzu poetically explained in "The Art of War."
While running, his eye caught the sight of the silly red-head going by him. With ease. The Hell? It was not until she passed him that he saw that she was simply using her claws to cling to the wall and just ran through the tunnel with ease. He smirked to himself and shook his head. Well, at least she's having fun. Chuckling to himself, he climbed over a quite large obstacle. Larger than the others beforehand. He sighed to himself as he saw some gaps ahead of him. Dang, even more things to watch out for. He weaved through the obstacles and saw David jump a wall. Mettaliar followed right after him yet paused to look down. Seeing David on the ground, his bottom half down a gap, let Mettaliar know that jumping wasn't the best way. Deciding to take a page out of Fades book Mettaliar created knives and used them to dig into the sides of the tunnel and shimmied across. He reached a point where he safely drop down and ran to David. He decided not to leave David behind and try to help. He reached down and grabbed a hold of Davids arm and pulled him out of the gap.
"C'mon! Gotta go catch up to Fade!" He quickly let David take control of himself and ran after the red-head, climbing the next wall along the way. He knew the course was close to done, but how close? How much longer could this course go on for?
As the girl playfully skittered through the tunnel, clinging to the ceiling just to leap to a side wall, then slide down like a playground before jumping to her feet and climbing over another wall. During her childs play, she spaced for a moment on the whole floor-falling-out-from-under-your-feet thing. Yeah, that was a problem. Carelessly, she landed on one of those land mines and fell into the hole. Cursing mildly under her breath, she used her claws to pull herself out before she continued her Cirque du Soleil routine.
She heard some conversation from a couple walls back, apparently Mettaliar helped David out of his bad situation. Her name was mentioned, no doubt trying to beat her, or even worried that she didn't have it covered. She climbed up one of the walls and surveyed the area. When her eyes finally settled on the boys, she waved and smiled. "Doing grand, m'boys!" she chuckled before climbing on the wall and leaping off onto another ledge, approaching the end.
David Watched as Fade ran by with ease, "Well.... damn." He said, jealous that she could get through without a problem. He started trying to pull himself out, but wasn't getting far. Suddenly Mettaliar appeared and grabbed his arm, helping him out.
"Oh thank you, thought I was going to fail again. He said climbing to his feet, Yeah, lets catch up, I don't want to lose by that much. He said taking off towards the exit, he could see it now. A long bridge leading to the finish line, the last test, pure speed. David did a quick look behind him, time was running out, time to give it all he had.

Mettaliar made sure David was up completely while checking to look how the course was doing. It really WAS moving faster. Mettaliar turned and ran with David towards Fade, who stood proudly on top of a wall ahead of them. Mettaliar couldn't help but chuckle to himself at Fade's spunky attitude and confident nature. As he approached the wall Fade stood on, he hopped over it along with David and Fade and caught a glimpse of the last stage. A rickety bridge. This deffinatly seemed like a test of speed, something which Mettaliar knew he lacked in.
He charged ahead, trying to build up momentum while also keeping his energy use low in case he needed it for a final sprint. This would test his will as well as his speed. He couldn't stop running just because he was tired. He would need to push on no matter what in order to complete the course. It would be embarrassing to go this far and have that keep him from completing the course. This would take it all out of him; a test he would remember for a long time.
Apparently the course was almost over. Time to end play time. Fade jumped down from the wall and continued to dance through the tunnel. As if climbing through a moving tunnel didn't look easy enough from this spritely redhead, she began to softly hum a simple tune. Just whistle while you train. Dipping and diving through the course, she finally caught a view of the finish line. If only that finish line was further off. Fade was not ready to hit the showers.
Finally, and most depressingly, Fade left the tunnel and reached the bridge. Ah, the Danger Room's own personal Golden Gate Bridge. Following what the course seemed tto be implying, fade began n to sprint, which happened to be her flaw. Fade had conquered the technique of turning invisible instead of running away from the enemy. Her highly out-of-shape legs rushed across the bridge, going the average speed of a small child on a sugar rush: her feet were moving as fast as they could but it really was not the fast. Oh well, there wasn't that much left on the bridge, just a little more energy and she was done sprinting.
OOC: I hope you dont mind if I go ahead and leave this thread since its in a doldrum...I forget how to spell it
Fade continued to the end, constantly glancing over behind her shoulder to make sure the boys were coming. Had the end of the course not been such an advantage for the Flying Fadepeeze, the race would have gone to the men. Yet lucky for the devious redhead, she got her last laugh and scurried to the end. Grabbing the towel to wipe off her face, she watched the two men stumble through and smiled. Well, maybe she was being a little too pompous and they did not 'stumble' to the finish line.
It was a good workout. She had fun. Now the moment pleaded her to take a shower and she felt disgusting. It was a good feeling, to actually know when she was dirty and feel like she needed to clean herself. Living back out on the streets for the past year had made her more accustomed to not bathing for a week. Good thing she was back at the Mansion. "I am hitting the showers. Thanks for a good run, David. See ya around, Mett," she waved before trotting out of the Danger Room.
