The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. Mettaliar climbed up, seeing how Fade and David were slightly ahead of him, reaching the air conditioner part before he did. Quickly he climbed up and leap off of it the same way David did. He got up right after him on top of the building and didn't stop. This was the part that David hinted to being the most difficult and to when the time limit comes into play. With no time to think, Mettaliar tried the same technique he had used to get up the first wall. He created a longer staff and ran near the edge of the building, lifting off into the air while doing so. He saw David beginning to cross the beam in a catwalk style. Probably was the best way to get through that part. Mettaliar, however, decided to take a different route.
As the pole started to come down, Mettaliar knew it wasn't long enough. As fast as he could he made the edge of the staff bigger until he noticed it could reach the other side. He also metalized the inside of some of the pole to prevent it from break on impact. Closing his eyes he felt a large amount of momentum pull him down as the edge of the pole hit the second building. He sighed in relief as the pole held strong and created a second beam to cross. Quickly, not know how much time he had left, he swung his way on the bottom of the pole to the edge of the building. He grabbed the sides of the roof and pulled himself up rolling on the concrete of it.
He was about to say he had finished until he noticed David crossed and ran to a line. Mettaliar quickly sprung up and saw David zip line his way down. He ran to the line and waited a little bit so David and he wouldn't collide on the line. After he waited he checked back for a split second to see where she was. He than grabbed a handle and attached it to the line. One last time he turned around and shouted, "Come on, Fade!" With that, he grabbed onto the bars and let gravity take him down the line, whooshing downward toward the ground.
Oh, Fade, you're going too slow. My my, Fade, you must catch up. Oh boy, look how far they... Fade swatted the thoughts from her mind immediately as she approached the pole. Great, polewalkers? A quick eyebrow jerk up and she knew what to do before grabbing onto the pole with her hands and swinging down. Immediately, she wrapped her legs around it and sort of horizantally shimmied across the pole. When she had reached the end, her usual technique was used and she unwrapped her legs before climbing to the wall and up it.
Right as her redhead peaked over the ledge, she saw Mettaliar looking around for her and motioning for her to 'come on'. Oh, I'm coming, don't get your boxers in a twist, just so long as I put my feet... With that, she kicked herself over the ledge and ran over to the zip line, grabbing ahold of it just as Mett disappeared down the line. A large smile crept across her face as she zipped down. This was much more fun than any playground she'd ever been to. Scratch that whole slide idea, we've got a zipline here!
David let go of the line as he approached, hit the ground with a role, and slammed his back into a nearby wall. Behind him was a fifty yard long maze of walls rails, windows, and most importantly, enemies. This was the only part of the course that had enemies programmed in. They were programmed to attack using surprise, they give chase, but give up after a certain point.
The reason it was made was to help train agility, it's easy to simply run from obstacle to obstacle, but now the runner would need to be quick on their feet, be able to dodge at a split second, then escape. Problem was David didn't warn them about this, and didn't want to simply let them walk into it. HE knew they were both hot on his heels, so he would wait at the wall, then tell them on the run.

Mettaliar checked behind him to see that Fade was also on her way down. Smiling, Mettaliar looked down and prepared to land. He hit the ground running and let go of the cable. He tried to outrun his momentum yet failed as he tilted forward and tucked his shoulder in bracing to roll. He let himself fall forward and turned his body so that his right shoulder would hit first. He landed quite hard and tumbled before recovering onto his feet. He caught himself at that point and kept kneeling, staying in place in order to catch his breath.
After a few quick breaths he moved quickly to the wall that David was hiding behind. Mettaliar gathered next to him and got on one knee again. He noticed David looking a little worried and figured he knew what it was about. David didn't tell him or Fade about this part of the course, only the buildings. He decided for David to speak or go before he wen, not knowing EXACTLY what to do from that point on. He looked over and waited for Fade to land before asking anything.
As Fade went flying down to where they were, having the time of her life, she saw the two stop in front of a wall and wait. The sight of two guys waiting for her made her a bit peeved. Well that's not cool. Once she landed, which seemed to be a bit smoother than her metal friend, she rushed over the wall and put tucked the hair that had fallen out of her pony tail behind her ears. Her breathing wasn't hard, but she made sure it wasn't hard. Didn't want to look like a puny little redhead.
Curiousity got the best of her. "What's on ahead?" She asked before turning herself invisible so she could look around the wall. A maze? When she was finished being a curious kitty, she rejoined the boys and turned visible. "We playing Maze?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. If this was a strategy game, as in she had to actually find her way out, she'd be toast... without her powers! Lucky for her, if she wanted to, she could just run right through the walls to the other side, but best she just keep up the normal activity and not cheat through the maze. She wanted to learn anyways.
David caught quickly caught his breath, and was ready by the time Fade joined them. "It's a maze alright, but inside are programmed enemies, ready to attack. They are in hiding, and randomized each time, so I don't even know which wall they will be hiding at. Be quick but don't forget to check your corners, and be very careful. It's easy to be caught up with a fight and not realize that the course is catching up to you, just do your thing and keep moving."
David realized he had already wasted enough time explaining the maze, he could see the course behind them falling apart, it was already reaching the rappel line. "We need to get moving now." Quickly David turned the corner and sprinted into the maze, a quick left and a dive through a window and he was out of sight.

Mettaliar listened to David as he explained the maze more clearly. He prepared a staff quickly and got ready to go through. It wasn't until David mentioned the course "catching up to them" that he realized it was still timed. He checked back near the buildings and saw that the chaos was closing in on them. He breathed a bit heavily at the sight and looked back to where David was before. He developed a plan on how to complete the maze as fast as possible while dealing with the threats that lay inside. He stood up and prepared to speak quickly.
"Alright, everyone stay together and move fa-" He couldn't finish his thought before suddenly he caught sight of David rushing into the maze. Mettaliar ran after him but lost him as he dove left. He stopped and sighed to himself before turning around. The course was closing in fast and he needed to act quickly. He ran back and turned to Fade, deciding to offer his plan to one other person. "You with me or on your own? Your choice." With that he quickly ran back in the maze and ran to the end of the hall before turning around to see what Fade was doing before moving on his own. Time was running out.
Now came the fun part, it seemed. If there was one thing Fade was REALLY good at, it was avoiding obstacles, not tackling them. A quick smirk crossed her lips as Mettaliar and David ran ahead. Seemed like every man...and woman...for themselves. Although Mettaliar offered Fade to stick with him, she sort of had her own plans. That involved a quick...disappear. But not yet. Starting out at a slow jog, she trailed behind Mettaliar before sprinting ahead of him when he turned to see if she was going to join him.
When the first corner hit, she grabbed onto the inner corner, phasing her claws through before swinging around it quickly and running on. "Thanks for the offer Mett, but I'll race ya!" She called out behind her before turning invisible. When she swung around the next corner, one of the obstacles jumped in her way. Damn. Heat vision robots. No matter. A quick pounce and latch onto the wall allowed Fade to easily pounce and prance around the robot. He began to follow her, but a few more swinging corners and he gave up to face who ever was behind her. Straight ahead, she saw David, but like she was going to turn invisible. Best keep her movements secret unless she needed any help.
While the positions of the enemies were randomized, the actual maze layout was not. he had run through it before, and worked out a rough route to get through it at a good time. He quickly turned a corner, and was met with an arm at face high. Quickly David dropped to his knees and slid under the blow, but that didn't mean a follow up wasn't coming, he felt the kick slam into his back, sending him forward. He used the momentum from the kick to throw himself over a small half wall in front of him.
Once the wall was cleared he went on the task of finding his way back to his old trail. A robot tried to punch him out, but he was able to knock it away and keep going, vaulting over a table. He came onto a bit of a straight, knowing he was almost finished, when he was slammed into a wall to his left. The bot pinned him there, not letting him move "Damnit" He yelled, trying to elbow the bot in the head. He gave it a few good blows as his slowly lifted him higher off the ground. He gave a kick to the should, and was able to propel himself over the wall he was pinned against. He lanned flat on his back, and after a loud groan picked himself up, the exit was just ahead, and after that a two story ladder that led into a tunnel, and the final section of the course.

Mettaliar turned a corner and heard Fade's little challenge as she ran past him. He chuckled to himself and ran in a different direction to try and find the exit. With Fade's powers Mettaliar knew that, if she wanted to, she could cheat her way through the maze. Hopefully she would have more honor than that. Hopefully. Mettaliar sighed as he thought so, checking corners for obstacles and running into the occasional dead end. He knew he had to work fast if he was to win this impromptu race he got himself in.
Suddenly he rushed around a corner and was knocked in the face by a punching robot. He feel over and rolled back seeing that the robot was not alone as a second robot stood next to him. Taking his staff, he leaped forward and slashed one of the robots, destroying them. The second robot went in for an attack, yet Mettaliar ducked and rolled under it. He raised his staff in the air and stabbed the robots head, killing some sort of power source as it stopped moving and went limp. Mettaliar took his staff back and ran forward, seeing the exit. He hoped that he would not run out to see Fade standing there as blushing would probably be the first action to happen if that were to be true.
After trailing behind David for a bit, quite unnoticed, might I add, the mutant in front of her ran into a robot and struggled some. Well, if she could just help him out...wait, no, he had it all under control and he tore off again, searching for the exit. Hmph, technically David could cheat, he had been working on this program before and Fade had never gone through this maze, so he had the upper hand. Deciding against following him, she simply phased through a wall to her side and started to rush through all the turns again.
At a dead end, a robot was pleasantly waiting for her, and he wasn't exactly holding a boquet of flowers. Quickest escape: turn around and run the other way! The robot was a bit faster though and making a U-Turn was never a quick thing, so she was caught by his robotic hands. Stupid heat vision. Although she could just phase through his hands, she wanted more fun then just running, so she phased through and then slid underneath it before leaping on his back and phasing her hand into the machinery. Directing her head in the correct direction as the robot kept running and flailing his arms, trying to reach her, she made him into her pony and rode through the maze on his back.
The exit was visible from her now high standing point and the wall next to her held another surprise: Mettaliar! He was running towards the exit just like her. "Hiya, Mett!" She called from her awkward position. She was high enough to be seen, but low enough for Mettaliar not to know what she was riding on. Waving above the wall probably seemed odd, like she had a flying carpet under her.
Finally, the exit to the maze, and the entrance to the last leg of the course, the one part he could never pass. He took a moment at the base of the ladder to catch his breath. The blows he sustained in the maze were starting to ache, but he pushed it out of his thoughts, he needed to concentrate at the task at hand. He grabbed onto one off the rungs of the ladder and started pulling himself up, as quick as he could. Once he got to the top he took a moment to look back, and he could see as the maze was being ripped apart. It was impressive from his point of view, though a good reminder to move fast.
He started to jog down the tunnel until he could see the line of obstacles. The tunnel was lined with waste high walls, positioned on the floor, walls, and cieling. Certain pieces of the course were missing, gaps in the tunnel that led to a quick loss. The kicker was that the entire tunnel was spinning clockwise, adding an extra bit of coordination to the speed and perception. David knew that some of the pieces of the floor were trapped, they would give way when pressure was placed on them, but like the bots before them these were random. The ending of the tunnel led to a wooden rope bridge and the finish line. The final kicker was that once somebody started the tunnel segment, the course would catch up even faster, so David decided to wait for the other two before initiating it.

Mettaliar looked at the course and realized that the maze was not the last part. Man, this guy loves to surprise us. He sighed as he got to the end before hearing a familiar female voice coming from behind. He immediatly turned around expecting to see the redhead behind him. Surprisingly she failed to be there. Instead, from what Mettaliar could tell, she was behind a wall. How, than, couls she see him. It wasn't until he heard the sounds of a robot running around and streaks of red hair along with Fade's face appearing from above the wall that he got the idea. Wow. Fade really knows how to fight. Good to know that she isn't cheating, at least.
Chuckling, he decided to try giving her a hand. Interesting concept coming from someone who might as well be racing her, yet he knew time was running out and he wanted to try to finesh the level with everyone intact. He quickly ran to the wall while creating two knives in the process. He quickly hopped up the wall and stuck the knives into the wall, hanging on to the wall virtually. He began to use the knives to clibm the wall until he reached the top. He pulled himself up and looked at Fade when he reached the top.
"Need a hand?" He chuckled as he said so and looked down to see how she was staying on the robot. "Interesting. It seems you found an interesting way to cling onto things, I guess." He glanced over Fade's shoulder to see that the course was slowly dissolving behind her. "Oh crap, times running out! Here, grab my hand, let's get out of here." With that, he reached his hand out and offered it to her. It would be funny if she declined the offer and got out of the situation herself, yet he decided to be a friendly guy and at least offer.
Right ahead, Mettaliar suddenly appeared on top of the wall. As she got closer, he offered to help her out of her 'sticky' situation. Funny way to put it. With a quick jerk to the side, she repositioned the robots head and his body followed, right into the wall Mettaliar was on. Just as she did so, she leapt off of the robot and grabbed ahold of Mettaliar's hand. Her raptor claws were not phasing, so she grabbed onto his hand, claws and all, petrified on whether she drew blood. It didn't look like she drew blood...oops.
"Thanks," she nodded. Not like she really needed any help, but being an X-Man is about knowing how to work as a team. This seemed like a perfect opportunity for that very concept, dundadadun! She looked behind them, watching the course still crashing. "I think it's time we joined David," she smirked before running ahead on top of the wall.
She reached the end of the wall and the end of the maze. With slight hesitation, she stepped off and regained herself on the ground. Groaning from the impact, she got up and stood beside David, waiting for Mettaliar to follow, even though he was pretty much right behind her. Looking ahead, she saw the rotating tunnel of defeat and her eyes widened. This was the hardest part? It was like Fade's dream come true. Basically, this was a giant playground for her climbing claws. Excitedly she asked if this was the last obstacle. Ooooh, this would be fun. It wouldn't be cheating, Mettaliar had been using his metal powers, she could use her claws.
David watched nervously as the two found their way out of the maze. He was impressed by the teamwork, it was as if the two had worked together before. On their way out David watched as the course continued to fall out, and tried to guess the time they had left. Knowing that it was about to speed up he realized the last part would have to be a full on rush, and he wouldn't have much time to explain the next section when the two arrived.
Once they did David didn't waste any time. "We're going to need to rush, keep moving, keep your balance, and watch out for gaps, it's about to speed up, don't slow down." He said quick and clearly. Once finished he immediately turned and ran inside, the spinning caught hi ma little off guard, but he quickly regained himself and jumped over the first obstacle.
