The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Johnny sat comfortably in his chair as he watched the various video monitors. Outside the sun was shining brightly and he could see that plenty of students were enjoying their chance to play out on the green lawn. There were plenty of mutant abilities on display today, but everything was carefully controlled in order to keep anyone from being hurt.
"Boring..." The young man muttered to himself as he slumped a little deeper into the cushions of his chair, "What does a guy have to do to get a little bit of excitement around here?"
At time's Johnny's job was one of the most exciting at the mansion, but those kinds of attacks were few and far between which meant that for the most part his job was boring.
With an inward sigh as Johnny accepted the inevitably boring afternoon, he reached over and brought up the web browser on the main computer. While the computer's main job was to monitor communications in the surrounding area, it also doubled as a really wicked gaming console and internet browser when he needed it to.
"World Of Warcraft ... perfect!" He murmured in obvious delight as the website loaded. There had been a new update to the program and Johnny was chomping at the bit to get it downloaded so he could begin the next step in his great adventure. However, just as the update finished downloading a screen suddenly popped up on the computer.
"Signal intercept? What signal?" Johnny asked as he moved his cursor to click on the apropriate icons. After aproximately a half hour of work the young man suddenly picked up the phone beside his computer.
"You better get up here... fast!" He said urgently as soon as the connection was made, "We've got a problem... a big one!"

Johnny sat in the chair at the head of the table, fidgeting as he waited for the X-Men to arrive that had been chosen to handle this situation. He was still in shock over the whole situation that had been discovered but he had been given the assignment of briefing the team so here he sat.
For the most part the table was bare. No coffee or refreshments had been set out to ease the atmosphere of the meeting and no entertaining jokes or comics were hanging on the walls as occasionally happened thanks to some of the mansion's pranksters. In fact there were only four items sitting on the table. Directly in front of Johnny was a folder, closed but with no seal on it. In front of three other seats were folders with red tape seals over them declaring that they should not be opened until the individuals present were instructed to do so.
"Come on... where are all of you?" Johnny muttered in annoyance as he glanced up at the clock on the wall. He would have thought that even these three would know that an urgent meeting was truly urgent.

Streak had received the call from Johnny. He didn't even have time to say "Hello?" before the voice on the other end said something about a big problem. Before he could even ask what had happened Johnny had hung up the phone and Streak was on his way to the War Room. Instead of going the regular way he took the quick way. The way that himself and Sam had created from their office. It was faster than going through all the hallways and pushing past kids. Sliding down the pole like a fireman, he walked to the small table that was placed in the middle of the room. There standing at the end, was Johnny and he was looking very impatient and worried.
"Hey what's the big emergency?" Streak asked as he walked up to the table and picked up one of the sealed folders that was set in front of the chair. He turned the folder over and over in his hands. He knew the procedure and was going to wait for the others to arrive before he tore open the sealed folder and started to read the information on his next mission. It had been a while since he'd gone on a mission so he was a little eager to find out where it was that he and two of his other team mates would be going and more importantly, what they'd be doing.

The scenery passed by quickly as man and beast trotted in a fast jog around the mansion. Sam’s hand tightened on the leash as he gave it a slight tug signaling to the Husky puppy that they were coming to a stop. Thor out of his four dogs had and has been the worst one to train. Thor was more of an independent thinker thus making the most trouble, which is why Sam felt in necessary to spend extra time with the pup as to break him in to the mold of the others. There could only be one Alpha male in Sam’s pack and seeing as it wasn’t called “Thor’s Pack” Thor would not be in charge.
As the paces between Sam and the dog became Sam said, “Thor, sit!” the authority in his voice seemed to do what he was aiming for seeing as the usually rebellious pup sat down and turned his head to look at Sam. “Good boy!” Sam said his phone started to ring.
The conversation didn’t last long but he knew it was urgent so with in a few minutes of maneuvering through the busy hallways littered with kids who wanted to see the cute puppy that was matching Sam’s pace. As he entered the elevator and headed down to the War Room, looking down at his dog Sam smiled crouched and said, “Elevators aren’t so scary.” The elevator lurched slightly as they approached their floor. Walking out the dog’s mood went from scared to over confidant, Sam could tell as well as anyone else who happened to see the dog exit the elevator.
Upon the entering of the War Room Sam tied the end of Thor’s leash to his belt and waved to everyone, “Hey Streak, John John… What’s the danger?” Sam asked not sounding to worried, if it was a true emergency he would have been notified over the P.A. system, seeing as the phones were used he guessed it had to do with a mission.
