The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

David's face started to turn red as he realized what had happened "I'm fine shin... thanks." He said with a tint of frustration and sarcasm. Ghost did a great job explaining the room, but it raised more questions. At that point his priorities seemed to change "So I assume you two are to blame for what happened, what were you doing in here, just waiting to scare whoever comes in?"
David pulled himself up and looked across the room "So whats the point of all this? You said something about robotics and illusions, how do you control it?" David had more questions, but decided to go slow for now, his embarrassment about what had happened was pushed to the side as hid attention was brought back to the room
“...Do you feel okay? Need to see the doctor? ...Need a band aid?” Maybe David was bleeding or some kind of wound she couldn't see. Otherwise she would feel rather negligent in helping keep her friends alive and well. She hadn't really considered him hurt excet in pride. Maybe he was bleeding~! What would they do? Where was the Doc?
“Can we change the scenery, Ghost? That sheep is really starting to creep me out…” "Huh?" She was dragged out of her self-induced panic to look at the sheep. He looked back at her and bleated. Nyaaaaah. "Uh... sure. Something different coming right up."
Ghost drifted over toward the interior panel, it seemed to be able to come and go and was tricky to find if you didn't know where to look for it. She took the time to become solid before carefully pouring over the panel and making a new program selection. Shin would have to field the next few questions since she was busy. "What does David do? If he's not hurt maybe we can work in a three person workout of some kind."
>>"So whats the point of all this? You said something about robotics and illusions, how do you control it?"
"There is a god room upstairs. That'll give you the most functionality, but we have a panel in here that lets up switch between programs at least." The keys on the panel clacked as Ghost's fingers went to work. For now, the sheep and rolling countryside slid back into the walls and floors and a more urban setting sprang into view. It wasn't New York, it wasn't anywhere in particular actually, just a generic urban setting with sky scrapers and most importantly, no sheep.

“Us to blame? … Yeah. Sorry about that.” Shin scratched the back of his head, chuckling nervously. “Couldn’t resist a good scare.” He glanced at Ghost as she went to change the scenery, then turned back to David. “I didn’t expect you to actually hit a wall, though… that wasn’t fun at all. If I’d know you would run, I would have called out ‘and if you run, I will eat you faster, mwuahaha’…” He dropped his evil laughter voice, adding the last part. “As for what we were doing before you came in, that’s easy. Training.” He helped David to his feet.
“Speaking of which, I never did ask what you really did. What’s your power?” As if to change the subject, Ghost answered David’s question about the ‘point of it all’. The Asian took note of the location of that interior panel, filing it away for ‘later’. As the hills rolled away, he did a half-hand wave to the sheep retreating into the distance. Skyscrapers shot up around them. Shin’s head bobbed up and down from skyscraper to skyscraper, finally resting back on David.
“So as I was saying… power? Have you ever trained here before?” Curiosity was getting the better of him again.
David watched as Ghost seemed to float to a panel, his attention was obviously on what she was doing. After Shin helped him up David gave him a friendly nod but quietly walked over towards Ghost. "Training huh? So scaring me was just a bonus?" He said turning his head and giving a smile, not wanting Shin or Ghost to think he was mad.
Ghost was tapping anyways at the console as David walked up next to her to watch, the thought of a room like this that could change the entire environment was amazing, and he knew he had to get to that god room. "Huh? Oh my power? Well I can jack into the internet with my brain, I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I can connect and download large amounts of stuff, problem is I have a hard time sifting through it all." He said nervously laughing because he just realized he had been rambling. What about you two, which one made the..." David trailed off as he stared at the room. Everything was changing, the mild grassy highlands seemed to fade away, replaced with busy city streets and towering buildings.
>"Huh? Oh my power? Well I can jack into the internet with my brain..." He lost Ghost at brain. Internet brain? What kind of mission setting could an air elemental, a shard manipulator, and an internet brain work together?
A few more buttons and the "active elements" were brought online. People, or what looked like people and cars, light changes, walk signs... anything that had potential to move or react.
>"What about you two, which one made the..." Again Ghost stopped listening part of the way through. She pointed at Shin and kept poking at the console with the other hand. There had to be an espionage or diffusion setting in there programs... "Ah! Here we go. What about a bomb? Would you like to find a bomb?" I was like a big sister asking if they wanted to play monopoly now.
That one was potentially dangerous for her, but honestly, who wouldn't get hurt by a bomb? It sounded like something David might be able to help them locate and or diffuse. Especially if he could look up instructions or something... better make that an encrypted bomb or.. something more complex than simple wires. More key clicks ensued.

Shin pointed at Shin. “I did. So anyways,” He turned his attention to the simulation Ghost was suggesting.
"Ah! Here we go. What about a bomb? Would you like to find a bomb?" She was like a big sister asking if they wanted to play monopoly now.
“Er, sure… or how about an infiltration mission where you hack into control panels, turning off infrared lights and shifting the various traps the danger room has at finger’s reach? That could be fun… what kinds of wavelengths can your mind run on? And how much concentration does it take…?” So many questions to ask, so little time. “Look, I guess what I’m trying to say here is…” Shin clasped his hands together, taking a breath and hoping this came out alright. “Do you want to practice to see if you can control the danger room, and throw obstacles our way?”
Read: Do you want to test your powers and see if you can 'kill us'. Undertones.
And it was out there. Controlling the danger room? He didn’t see why David couldn’t expand his horizons from internet to wireless net. Any good hacker should be able. Shin glanced at Ghost to see what she thought about that idea. It might be a little safer than a bomb…
Again David was surprised, not only could this simulate something like buildings, but now people. He was tempted to walk out and touch them, just to see how they would react, but before he did he was presented with a few options.
"Umm Well.." both ideas seemed interesting, but he was a little worried about the dangers of it. I mean if they could make all this, what could a bomb do? then again he had never tried to connect to any other network, and he didn't want to waste their time, or be even more embarrassed by trying and failing. "Umm I like the bomb thing, that way we can all work together." He said.
Ghost scratched her head at Shin's questions. Wow. He sounded a lot more computer savvy than she was. If it hadn't been for Neena's own computer incompetence, Ghost may never have found anyone patient enough to teach Ghost the controls for the Danger Room.
"If we're worried about danger level, we can keep it around a two. I think the bomb would explode confetti or something... maybe a pressure blast? I've never done a bomb run on 2 so we'd have to see, but 2 is minimal bodily injury. 1 is no possible physical injury. I was told to never go above 4... I actually don't know what is above 4, but -- another day perhaps."
"We can talk strategy first if you want, but in a real situation, we wouldn't get that so whenever you're good to go..." Everything was ready except the activation of the bomb. There would be hints. Suspicious people they would have to find and question. "If you'll do the honors, David. Mash this button here and we'll be live. Forty-five minutes until boom time." She indicated a flashing white button with the word "go" clearly printed on it.
For one, Ghost was ready. Any mission not involving the beating of living beings (including herself... some of those martial arts programs were rough!) was fine by her. In this mission their enemy was a thing. A bomb. Yes, a person put it in place (in theory) but the priority was to find and diffuse the bomb.

And so it was decided. “Bomb it is, then!” Shin exclaimed, raising one hand to the heavens. This would be a first for him. All his prior danger room experiences were either practicing one talent, or training the body. This would challenge the mind, and that… well, that was groovy.
He turned, waiting on David to press that button. Possibilities of where the bomb was hidden flipped through his mind like the Jokers in a scattered deck of playing cards. Once it started, he’d have a Hell of a time stopping it.
David was starting to get excited, he hadn't felt this alive in awhile, this really was going to be fun. He walked over to the console and took a look, he had been watching Ghost carefully while she put everything in "Well let's make it a little more interesting, bump it to 3? Confetti is a little boring. " He said as he walked through the same steps he saw Ghost do.
Ghost was right, there would be no time to talk about strategy, once they start they wouldn't stop until they found it or it went off. David turned back to Shin and gave a smile "Here we go" He said as he pressed the button to start the simulation. Not a lot changed, though David didn't really expect anything to anyway, the setting was already made, now it just started, "So, umm where to first?" He asked the two.
"Well let's make it a little more interesting, bump it to 3? Confetti is a little boring."
David hipped her out of the way and took over the controls like a pro. "Wait - but level 3 means--" David depressed the 'go' button "--fire. Guess this means business. Just - don't get mad if I pass when it come close to D-time."
"So, umm where to first?"
"Well, we have the advantage of knowing it's somewhere in this city block." Ghost waved to the area that the Danger Room had made. "David, can you tune in to radio frequencies as well? Like finding a police scanner? Maybe they know something." She shrugged. Technology was a little bit beyond her.
Ghost tried to look over the people who passed them on the street. Unfortunately no one screamed I HAVE A BOMB to her. She wasn't always the best judge of character, though. "Shin, does anything look out of place to you in this scenario?"

“Confetti, boring?” Shin’s mind was boggled. As he tried to wrap his mind around the complex concepts of this ‘boring confetti’, David moved to punch in a few buttons on the panel. He finished with a smile. Ghost looked worried, though.
"Wait - but level 3 means--"
”Here we go! She was cut off.
"--fire…” Her face seemed to fall. Shin gulped. He knew how she was about that element.
“We’d better hope it doesn’t come to that, then…” He muttered, putting his game face on. Wait. Did he just say hope? He meant ‘make sure’. His eyes trailed across the crowd, looking for any shifty faces, any sign of something out of the ordinary. Just a simple city street, nothing seemed amiss. He sniffed the air.
Like that’d help any. He was no blood hound. Too bad they didn’t have some sort of tool to sniff it out…
”Shin, does anything look out of place to you in this scenario?" Ghost asked.
“I’m looking, and I’m not seeing anything…” He hopelessly replied. “Maybe…” His face lit up, and he took off running towards a nearby police station. Maybe their bomb unit would have something to help… did the AI in the danger room even have that sort of functionality!? He bit his lip.
David saw Ghost's and Shin's reaction, and tried to hide the doubt he felt fall over him "Uh oh, maybe 3 was too high." He thought. He looked over the city, trying to think of where a good place to put a bomb would be.
He had never tried to boot into other frequencies, though it wouldn't hurt to try. He closed his eyes and started to concentrate "police..police." He kept thinking, he felt like he was close, though he couldn't tell for sure. He woke back into "reality" in time to see Shin go running off. "Oh cool did he find anything?!" David said as he started to run after the man.
Ghost started to call out after Shin to... what stop him from checking the police station? But decided he could just come back here in a bit, but then David started running off too... well, Ghost sighed the sigh of the thinker surrounded by people who took action.
She trotted after the boys, the panel melting away into the cityscape after her. She didn't follow them into the station, however, because this wasn't real life. Bernie and Charlie, the acquaintances she'd made over the Christmas holiday probably didn't exist in this holographic world. They would be the only police officers worth talking to, in her opinion, and besides... she really despised guns.
Instead, Ghost took a seat on the concrete stairs outside of the building to people watch. She was just sure someone would be suspicious looking... or perhaps know something. Also, if the boys got detained for questioning, they'd need help getting out of pretend jail free. She'd spring them, but only because she liked them.
If they didn't come rushing back out in five minutes with some kind of news or lead, she'd go in after them.

Lieutenant Parker Reed shuffled papers as he sat in his cushy desk in the police station. The piles of paperwork all around him were high, and he stared at them vacantly, only passing a glance away when a female coworker walked by. He put his hand in front of his face, checking his breath.
Minty fresh, like the day he was born… which was actually today, in this simulation. My, but the Danger Room’s artificial intelligence engines were mighty. Footsteps drew near, and a pair of ‘twenty-somethings’ approached his desk.
Shin got his attention with a wave. “Excuse me, Sir. Can we talk with you a moment?”
Parker tilted his head left to right, as if the Asian were talking to someone else. Finally, he pointed a finger to his chest and mouthed “Me?”
Shin nodded. Parker opened his mouth and was interrupted by a crowd of officers rushing past his desk.
“They just called it in!” Shin caught the first one saying.
“A bomb threat on today of all days?” The second one, a nice old man with brown hair and horn-rimmed glasses replied distastefully. The first one nodded like it pained him.
“And did you get a load of the video he sent?” A rookie shot in with a laugh. “Nutjob wearing a—” The first two men’s glares cut him off as he pantomimed an afro, complete with hair pick. They turned to stare at the civilians in their midst.
“Parker, get those civvies out of here! What the hell do you think you’re doing, letting them walk in here?!”
Parker sunk his sullen head. “Okay, chief. You heard him, guys. Get out…” He pointed towards the door. Shrugging, Shin followed the finger’s pointed path. When the men thought he was out of ear’s range, they resumed their conversation. David might have been able to hear snippets of it, if he’d paid the slightest bit of attention to their words.
“Scatter the bomb squads, tell them to head to 302 West Minster Street and 20th. Send another to the old Masonite building on Sylar. We’ll catch this bastard. One of those locations has to be the right…” Their conversation drifted off.
~*~
Back on the street out in front of the police station, crowds drifted by Ghost. A man with an Afro boogied by. He had the look of the 80s, a real ‘Sammy L. Jackson’ type with a particular strut. As he passed her, he flicked out his hair pick to glance at the single ruby-red dot on the handle… it blinked as he walked.
Highly suspicious. He drifted on into the crowd, heading towards Sylar Blvd. One could almost hear the faint ticking of revolution calling on the wind.
Of course, that could’ve just been the clock working against them all.
Shin sat down beside Ghost, waiting for David to catch up with him on the stairs. Two words left his lips, then silence fell upon them.
