The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Picture, if you will, a 1,000 fragmented reflections hanging in the air around you as you raise your hands into fists, boxing against shadows on the wall. Your chest rises and falls with each breath, and a leg kicks out, shards flying with them. That was the basic premise that ran through Tetsuya Shinbo’s mind when he’d heard about the Danger Room and training. A much-needed shot of danger to curb his enthusiasm and knock him on his ass a few times? It sounded fun!
Walking towards the Danger Room, the past few days flashed through his mind, from meeting the other students to applying, skimming over the party, and straight to his very first day. The campus had been so big, it had been hard finding his way around. Even after someone had shown him around, he still got lost. Hopefully that would change. Today was a happy first, as he’d found his way to this room on the first floor all by himself!
Stepping in cheekily, he asked whatever training AI or supervising system was present in the room to start him off slow. “A little warm up would be nice,” he thought aloud, only to be pummeled in the chest by a robotic arm swinging through the air. He flew back towards the wall with an ‘oof’, catching himself a moment before impact.
“Ouchie…” he rubbed his chest, looking at the moving machinery around him with one eye closed. “Guess it was already occupado…” Shin muttered to himself. "I won't get fooled again..."
What had started as her usual Self Defense routine had grown into something more today. Today, Ghost had expanded her session to include some stealth practice. Stealth was more fun that taking punches... because that's what Ghost typically did when in the Danger Room alone. She just couldn't bring herself to punch back yet. So she usually dodged. And when she couldn't dodge... she got a nice new bruise.
Ghost was practicing expanding herself as far as her consciousness would allow. The mist of her incorporeal body was long and low... hardly more than a thin layer of fog on the floor. The Mission was simple. As usual, she was supposed to weather whatever the Danger Room thought up for her. She had to sneak past detection, slip into the area full of bots and listen in for a certain mystery password that would allow her access into the guarded area to retrieve the goal: a medicine ball. It was like one-sided capture the flag.
Of course, feeling nostalgic today, Ghost had set the Danger Room language to Japanese. She was listening to the robot guard... watching the routine of change and waiting for that password so she could get the guarded prize... when something curious caught her attention. Air moving where it shouldn't behind her. Was she found out?
“A little warm up would be nice.” The words were extremely out of place in the all Japanese environment and the kid had no idea that just speaking was enough to attract the attention of the bots. Ghost's form condensed slightly as she mentally cringed for the guy. He took one right in the chest!
“Ouchie…” he rubbed his chest, looking at the moving machinery around him with one eye closed. “Guess it was already occupado…” Shin muttered to himself. "I won't get fooled again..."
Alarms were sounding, bots were scrambling, and amidst it all Ghost was condensing to her normal, hard to see ghosty self. She never caught the password! Could she still slip in though the confusion?
While she and Nathan were on their way to the Danger Room, Arielle insisted on changing into something more suitable and meeting him at the entrance. Not that she couldn't handle herself while wearing some heels and a skirt, but she wouldn't risk tripping over a heel and thus leading to some serious injuries. She changes quickly into a black training bra, a pair of black stretch pants, some black tennis shoes and a pair of fingerless leather gloves.
Tying her hair up in a pony tail, Arielle rushed down the corridors of the school, and eventually finding the Danger Room Entrance, but Nathan hadn't arrived yet.
"I hope Blaze hurries up.." she sighed leaning on the wall near the entrance. Seeing as the doors wee so thick, Arielle didn't notice the faint sounds coming from within the room.
"The action is already going on. Maybe Nate already went in. I might as well look and see..." she thought aloud and entered the room cautiously. What she found someone alright, but it wasn't the person she was looking for. Still, she was more than happy to see him.
"Hi Shin!" Arielle waved and placed her hand on her hip. "How ya been?" she smiled strolling over to the asian and punching him in the arm. "I know the mansion is big, but I thought I would have bumped into you since that night at the club. I kind of missed you." she smiled sweetly, that is, until a small piece of debris came flying, and knocked her in the back of her head and onto the ground face first.
"Not even a minute and I've already been owned..." she muttered, though her words were muffled by her lips planted into the floor.
"Who is in here besides you anyway?" she asked shaking it off, and getting back to her feet. She looked around to see several robots scrambling about, and the blaring alarms weren't music to her ears either. "Nice elaborate set up ya got here, Shinny. How did you do it?" she asked the boy again, completely unaware of Ghost's presence in the facility also.

“I… I really don’t know, Ari… I just- ow!” Shin held his chest again as he tried to get up, sinking back with the pain. He’d have one hell of a bruise tomorrow! His eyes scanned the floor as he sat, thinking. A wisp of fog-like mist trailed a few feet ahead, swirling towards the slowly-condensing translucent body of a girl. Shin squinted at her. “Huh… is that a-!?” The words welled in his throat, incredibly cheesy like a cartoon hippie from the 70s- “G-g-g-ghost~!?”
He jumped to his feet, pointing as alarms blared and lights flashed behind him. A robotic guard approached them, swinging a spiked club. His attention snapped from the ghoul-gal to that. “Wouldn’t want to see what a clubber like you would do to a guy like me…” Shin muttered, calling up a flickering sea of shine with a sweep of his hand. The club clattered against the shard barrier, and the Japanese boy stepped back. Another robot crashed down on his right, sword dropping in a downward strike.
“Abunai!!” He screamed, diving for Ari to knock the girl out of the way. Laying on the ground, upper half raised over Arielle to stare at the robots with eyes wide, the wailing sirens suddenly felt a whole lot farther away. His form reflected back at him, spinning in 100 flecked pieces. Suddenly, those pieces scattered, streaking towards the encroaching robot and shredding its metal coat. The ‘bot staggered back, bits of ‘broken glass’ embedded in its shell. Without thinking, Shin stood, shards spiraling around his fist as he rushed forward.
“Take that!!” He screamed. The punch knocked the robot into a wall… well, half of it anyways. Energy expended, Shin collapsed back down at Arielle’s side. “Well that winded me,” He breathed weakly. Guess it was her turn to act heroic next…
Nathan managed to get a little sidetracked on his way from the kitchen to the Danger Room but that was all said and done now. As he entered the Danger Room he noticed everything at once.
The remains of a training robot with glass triangles stuck inside the shell. The boy Shin laying on top of Arielle. As well as Ghost's incorporeal form. After seeing everyone was having trouble Nathan ran to the control room and pressed the big red buttion. The big red buttion was just an emergency override protcol that ended any training programs that were in session.
The only problem was that when Nathan got to the control room, he couldn't find the big red button. He scanned the panel full of switches and buttions but none of them had the big and red qualities that he was looking for. Nathan knew he had to find it fast before someone was seriously hurt.
OOC: Alright, this will give ya'll some more posts to finish up before we start the session that we came here for.
"Ghost?" Arielle repeated looking over in the direction Shin claimed the supernatural being to be. She saw the being for herself, and smiled. "Don't tell me you're afraid of-GHOSTS!" she screamed as Shin tackled her, removing her from harm's way. She laid on the ground stunned for a second, letting out a small groan of pain. She blinked, only to see Shin over top of her, and with that, a bit of red flowed into her cheeks. It was like a scene from one of those corny movies. The guy saves the girl and just happens to land on top of her...not that she minded it. It didn't last long as the young man picked himself up and went for another round with the robots. Arielle stared as Shin displayed his impressive fighting skill and his mutant abilities. She cracked a small grin seeing the mutant's shards slice into the robot.
"Nice," Arielle smiled as a winded Shin took residence next to her again. However, the threat wasn't over. The robots were still going crazy and they all seemed to have their eyes set of them after Shin's performance. Something had to be done and since Shin was out of breath, Arielle stood up to the task.
Immediately, she commanded her body to take a transmute liquid human state, making sure any blows dealt to her would not cause harm. Two robots closed in on the girl, also wielding swords as weapons.
"Really? Aren't these things dangerous enough without weapons?" she spoke, and paused, feeling a numbed strike through her stomach area. She looked down to see a blade poking from her gut and realized another robot had sneaked behind and impaled her. Though in place where the blood would be flowing, only water drizzled from her 'wound' and the blade. Arielle sighed.
"You know, I figured these robots would have artificial intelligence, but obviously not enough of it to realize that stabbing water doesn't do anything to it." she spoke in an annoyed tone and walked forward, off of the sword. She glared at the other two robots from before, coming in for the kill, but it wasn't about to happen. Instead, Arielle increased her water pressure and elongated her arms into highly pressurized whips of water. She wrapped her right limb around the foot of the a bot and tossing it into over her shoulder, sending it crashing into the wall, following the same procedure with two more, piling them up.
"Finish Them!" she called cheesily and propelled herself into a jet stream of liquid, and crushing the bots into the wall, rendering them obsolete.
"Fatality," Arielle smirked, recalling her water particles, and reforming back to her solid human state. "Whoa, maybe I over did it?" she laughed nervously and rubbed the back of her hand, looking at the robots crushed like accordions, against the slightly dented wall. "Ah well they deserved it..." she shrugged, stumbling back and falling next to Shin.
"Just need a minute to catch some air," she spoke in between breaths. Though it looked like she wouldn't get that minute as even more robots began to close in.
“G-g-g-ghost~!?” She condensed enough so that her voice would not sound so disembodied. "Do I know you?" Her tone wasn't rude, but rather confused. She wasn't used to people at the mansion being afraid of her. Ghost was so very not scary. "Don't tell me you're afraid of-GHOSTS!"
Ghost observed the goings on with he two? newcomers? When had the second one snuck in? It was a good show, but they seemed to have no concept of stamina or... mercy. It wasn't wise to use everything you had all in one go. It was just as unwise in Ghost's mind to be cruel to the robots. Sure, these automatons didn't feel, but they represented people. They looked like people. Maybe she shouldn't have turned the danger level up to 3 today.
There was no way she was going to become solid in this mess. Bots ran through her as if she weren't there. Of course they were supposed to be equipped with-- "Ow!"
A great gust of wind swirled around the room knocking several robots back on their bums as the incorporeal Ghost wisped away. So the robot sensors were working and they could see her when she was more solidified. That was good to know. Ghost berated herself for leaving the door unlocked, yes, but she was most angry at herself for not even realizing that a second person had snuck in until she was already there. Ghost really needed to practice "seeing" better in this form. Energy beam shots bounced off of the ceiling. rang out as certain robots targeted her as she whipped around the room.
Well, one thing was for sure. Ghost didn't want the newcomers getting hurt. An impressively strong blast of wind whipped around the room again this time knocking over as many robots as she could before the stream of air lost its strength.
"Danger Room, End Simulation, pl--urk." Apparently talking slowed her down enough to get shot. But It should be able to send without the please, right?
The group on the Danger Room floor had taken care of a few of the robots but there was still more than they could handle. And they're time was getting less by each second that Nathan took.
Nathan grew frustrated that the red button as missing. He knew he had seen it on the panel somewhere. The frustration caused him to bang his fists against the panel. Somehow that action caused a piece of the the panel to move and uncover the much desired big red button. Nathan immediately pressed it.
A voice came over the speaker. "Manual override initiated. Simulation terminated." The robots stopped moving and started to be absorbed into the floor as if they were just some part of the Danger Room all along leaving the whole room completely bare of anything.
Nathan walked back down to the floor where the others were to see if they were still up for doing the session they had planned on. They didn't appear to hurt too badly but Nathan knew you couldn't judge by appearences. "Is everyone alright?"
Arielle kept a cool exterior as the robots drew nearer, but there was no doubt that in her mind, she was freaking out. Was she really going to end up in the emergency room after her first session in here? That wouldn't be a very impressive, especially since she was in the process of trying to become an X-men trainee. She closed her eyes and grabbed on tightly to Shin. Though it seem fate spared her of impending pain and embarrassment as a strong gusts of wind took out the other bots. Most likely from the ghost girl, Arielle thought. Then the whole simulation seemed to fade away as the room returned to it's bare and empty self.
"Phew," Arielle sighed, cracking a smile at Nathan as she spotted him coming to their aid. She nodded after he asked if they were alright.
"I'm good now that you're here. Thanks a lot Nate. The simulation was already on when I came in. It took me off guard a bit," she laughed and then realized her firm grip on Shin's arm. "My bad..." she laughed nervously, letting go of the asian's arm.
"Oh, but, that ghost that was in here. I think she saved us. Is she ok?" Arielle asked looking around.

“Hmm?” Shin turned, following her searching gaze. He didn’t see her… were gaseous beings like that around here a common thing? And… oh god, that was a student? He mentally slapped his forehead. Man, she’d probably took it as an insult. He looked over at Nathan. “Thanks for the save, but I’m fi-” he clutched his chest again, cutting himself short. “It’s nothing.” He answered their curious glares. “Just a bruised rib is all. Man, those things do pack a wallop…”
He turned to face Arielle again, blinking. “You do, too…”
When the simulation ended, there was an audible exhalation from Ghost. It slithered around the room vibrating subtly across the very air molecules.
"I can't believe this. Are you guys okay?" The disembodied voice also echoed strangely though no where near as creepily. She started as a spot of cloud so thin that it was almost easier to see it from the corner of one's eye and condensed from there. Eventually Ghost was a semi-translucent girl hovering just over the ground. She stretched her legs down toward the ground, eyes closed as she solidified further until she finally came into her weight and substance.
Bare toes and pale skin touched the cold Danger Room floor as Ghost opened her eyes in time to see Seraph entering, asking the exact same question she just had. Ghost smoothed her school-bus-yellow skirt and surveyed herself. She'd taken the first hit in the foot and the other on the cheek near her mouth, though she didn't know it. It was rather hard to identify what was where when you were a gaseous cloud.
"Hey, Seraph. I think... I'm okay!" She seemed pretty excited to find that out. Ghost smiled to the other two now that she was collected and decidedly not dead. Keen honey brown eyes scanned over them trying to aligns what she had perceived in a different form with what she was seeing now. She took fastidious mental notes considering that she'd never seen either face around the mansion before.
After her brief pause for study, she realized she was perhaps being rude. She sighed and it was just that... a sigh. "Oh. Uhm. Hi." She dipped her head slightly in greeting. "I haven't seen either of you around before. I'm Ghost." To Shard she added, "Hajimemashite." with another slight bow.
Ghost was in no way Japanese, but even her English words spoke of living abroad. "I uh-- usually it's okay to leave the door unlocked for others to join because when you scan your hand for entry there should be a place where it says if a program is running or not." The corners of her mouth twitched as if she were trying to be serious, but found something just a little too funny not to smile. "It's dangerous to just barge in here."

“Well, they do call it the ‘Danger Room’!” Shin laughed weakly, scratching the back of his head. He smiled at her sheepishly, sharing his name. “Shinbo Tetsuya… or Tetsuya Shinbo, depending on how we call out name orders here… you can call me Shin! Sorry for barging in like that and I’m glad things turned out alright! So, um…” He looked towards Arielle. Introductions never were his strong suit, and the embarrassing situation had left him flustered. It didn't help that... his eyes, they were a-strayin'.
Taking a breath, he gathered his thoughts. “I do believe we are all in here for the same reasons?" He raised a finger to the heavens, announcing emphatically. "If none of us are hurt, I’m all for a session. What do you say?”
OOC: The whole time I was finding the link I was thinking about this. Enjoy. A little bit of God-modding in this post, if it really bothers you then I can change it.
IC: Nathan almost fell over laughing when Arielle she had seen a ghost in the Danger Room. "You didn't see a ghost. You saw the Ghost." He paused as the introductions were exchanged between them. "Well, if you're all okay do you want to start our simulation then? Would you like to join us Ghost?"
As soon as Nathan got confirmation from the others he explained the goal of what they were doing. "Well basically, we will be on teams and you try to capture the flag at the top of the Mountain."
After a pause, he added." And there's also going to be robots similar to the ones you were fighting earlier. Along with floating orbs to inhibit anyone flying to the summit and simply picking the flag up while everyone is still making there way up there. As for teams, I think it would be best if Ghost and I were on opposite teams since we are both X-Men trainees. So it's first come first serve with partners."
A second later Arielle said excitingly, "I want be on Nate's team." And walked over to stand next to him. Nathan only said, "I guess that settles it."
"Computer, run simulation Team Capture the Flag-Mountain scenario." The room set about creating the simulation he had asked for. The room became a open grassy field about 100 yards in diameter placing each team on opposite sides. As soon as that was done, the earth cracked in the center and a mountain began to rise up through the crack. The mountain stopped when it cleared around 100 feet.
Nathan could make out the movement of the flag at the summit of the peak. Thinking of having every possible advantage, Nathan removed his shirt and sprouted his wings that granted him the ability to fly. Also thinking about Ghost and her easily compustible self. Seraph decided to refrain from using his powers, for the most part anyway. But with that depriving him of most of his offense he said, "Computer, open Armory. Items-longsword and sheath."
A wooden stand appeared with the requested items. Seraph wasted little time in buckling the sheath across his body so the hilt rose above his right shoulder. It did not interfere with his range of movement for his wings like he thought it would.
"Oh, one last thing," he called out to the others. "The teams can also interfere with each others' progress toward the flag. But please refrain from anything from incapacitating someone, to loss of an apendage to death. Alright we should be good to go now. Simulation begin."
At Seraph's last words, robots began to appear as well as floating orbs to inhibit ariel mutants. "Alright, let's rock." Seraph launched himself into the air at flew as fast as he could towards the standard on the mountain.
"Ah hah. Now this is my kind of game. A major step up from the capture the flag I played in elementary school," Arielle smirked, looking up at the mountain to see a glimpse of the waving flag. With Nathan's command, the robots had returned for another appearance, as were some spherical machines floating about in the sky.
As Nathan removed his shirt, revealing his wings for flight, Arielle also prepared herself for the task at hand, returning to her hydro state.
"Alright, let's rock." Seraph launched himself into the air at flew as fast as he could towards the standard on the mountain.
"Wait up, Nate, I'm coming," Arielle laughed as her legs melted together to become one stream of water and she jetted herself upwards, climbing the mountain. It was a task trying to keep up with the fire elemental, seeing as she could only propel herself up only 4 yards at a time, and having to pause every time so she could jet upwards. She was fast, but not as fast as Seraph. The floating orbs noticed this too, as she could see one focusing on the winged boy, preparing to fire.
"Looks like I have to play Body guard," Arielle smirked. "Go ahead, Nate. I got you covered!" she cried while extending her arms into water whips and smacking striking away any floating droids attempting to shoot her teammate. Concentrating on the aerial droids, she had completely forgotten about the land bound ones, scaling up the mountain as well. She gritted her teeth looking down and noticing them drawing nearer, brandishing their weapons.
"Err, I'll be up as soon as I can, Nate. There's something I have to take care off," she cried back, turning her attention back to the armed robots. "Down Pour," she grinned, completely liquidizing her self, and surged down the mountain, wiping out the some of the bots. Ending up at the base of the mountain back where she had started, she began jetting herself up once again, having bought some time after clearing the path of the bots. However, it wasn't long before new ones appeared to replace the old and they soon were in pursuit.
"This freaking rocks," she laughed, continuing her trip upwards towards Seraph and the flag.
Ghost observed the goings on with avid interest. My, that water elemental was eager! So Ghost was left standing at the base of a mountain with a stranger. She smiled and scratched the back of her head. "I don't uh... even know what you do. But I'm an air elemental... a flammable air elemental. So let's not make the fire elemental too angry okay?"
Even as she spoke Ghost's eyes wandered from Shin to the apparently way ahead other team. Sure she had said don't make Nathan mad, but there was no need for them to just rush off and get an unfair head start while they were still getting aquatinted. Ghost manipulated the air around Seraph's wings so that it was hard for him to get lift. It would be land or soar higher, but moving forward wouldn't be an option as long as she focused on him.
Of course there were robots to worry about too. "Shin-san... would you like a boost?" She estimated that she could catch them up to the others (especially since Nereid took the liberty of knocking out a whole slew of bots for them and set herself back in pace.) Ghost casually blasted an orb backward and away. "If you can cover us, I think we can get us to make up for lost time."
After assent was gained, Ghost went to work. She had no way of covering them from the air, though the ground angle was taken out for a time thanks to Nereid. Also she had to let her grip on Seraph go to focus her energy on first shifting into incorporeality and next getting seer lift underneath Shard. She was luck that he was no hulk.
Gentle yet strong winds wrapped around Shin plucking him from the ground and zipping him past Nereid up the mountain until they were even with Seraph. It was too much to make it all the way to the top so depositing Shin on the side of the mountain it was. "Hope you're a fast runner!"
