The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shin’s body left the ground as he was carried through the air, limbs akimbo over the mountain’s base. As they went, he shot torrents of triangles at any incoming hover-drones that drew too close. It grew harder to breathe the higher they went, and as Ghost set Shin down on the mountainside he felt his ears pop.
“Hope you’re a fast runner!” Ghost exclaimed. Shin nodded back at her.
“I’ve been known to run from time to time, speaking of-”He took off in a sprint, hopping over the rocks and working hard to find his footing. He hopped up towards a boulder, arms clamping down to hold him as his lower half hung one bone-chilling moment, rocking in the air. With a grunt of effort, he heaved himself up and over the rock. He stayed there a moment, on hands and knees catching his breath. Shin’s eyes raised towards the mountain’s top far ahead.
“This sure is an awkward choice for a simulation…” He muttered under his breath. The mountain sloped ever steeper up ahead. A sudden thought struck him. “Aha!” He snapped his fingers, calling a score of shards into being. They flew into the mountainside ahead of him, embedding themselves like footholds. Hopefully, that would help him along… now for the matter of the other team.
He shifted his attention downwards, where Nereid was splashing along. Heh. Maybe he’d send a few rocks tumbling down her way to give her a reason to work that body and dodge? Nothing mean, of course, but… he kicked out his foot, nudging a few rocks to see how they’d budge. They moved a lot better than he’d expected, and a tumbling mini-landslide of pebbles rattled down towards the slopes below.
“Hrm,” he drew his attention back towards climbing, reaching up to plant a hand on an outcropping and rest his foot gently on the ‘foothold’, stepping up. The process repeated ad infinitum as he progressed towards the top.
Seraph was outdistancing the orbs supposed to inhibit him by quite a bit when his movement was suddenly halted. Alright then Ghost. But I still won't use fire on you. Landing momentarily, Nathan used his sword to take out a few robots just as the ariel orbs found him.
Their pellets stung him a little, but added up over the entire similation they could really injure someone. Nathan made sure that Ghost was still quite a bit farther down the mountain before he took care of his little orb problem.
Raising his left hand, Seraph created an inferno that roasted the majority of the spheres in front of him. He made the room brighten slightly for a few seconds until he extinguished his power.
Having that done, the angelic pyromancer checked the progress of the other team. Shin appeared to be floating up the mountain and was getting closer. Well, that's one way to do it. But Seraph knew that there would be more surprises instore for the teams he just wasn't sure exactly what.
The pyromancer figured that with Ghost occupied by levitating Shin, there was less likelyhood of the sheild still placed around his wings. Jumping up in the air and giving them a test proved that he could still make progress to the top by flying.
But seeing as how this was a teamwork exercise, Seraph flew back down to Arielle and picked her up. He flew past Shin and Ghost and planned to deposit Arielle at the edge of the summit. As he was flying something from above and hit him in the back causing him to drop Arielle. He figured that she would 'go liquid' and save herself and besides he had given her a decent head start on Ghost and Shin.
Seraph turned around to see what struck him only to find a training sphere which he quickly destroyed with a swing of his sword. The orb had rammed him while he had been flying. Seraph decided he needed to win this simulation as quickly as possible.

"Thanks Nate!" Arielle cried falling towards the mountain. Naturally, she resumed her liquid state, right before he made impact, splashing into the summit and flowing down onto a ledge, where she would return into her solid form.
"Looks like the competition is serious..." she sighed rubbing the back of her head. "That Shin, making rocks tumble my way. He certainly knows how to treat a lady," she grumbled sarcastically, and hopped back to her feet. Immediately, her legs melted together into a stream of water, and she was jetting off towards the top of the mountain once more.
"Hey Shin," Arielle paused for a bit and called down to the asian. Her arms once again forming whips of water and she began to wail on the rocks, causing some to slide downward. "Have fun. Cause pay back is a biotch!" she laughed.

“Huh!?” Shin looked upwards as he heard his name. Tumbling spherical shapes came ever nearer in the air above. “!!” He jumped to the side, scurrying over a thin ledge on the mountain’s side and bringing up his shield to deflect the rocks away. His foot dug in, working for placement. A trickle of dirt and dust slipped away beneath his heel as he looked upwards, biting back swears with gritted teeth.
"Have fun. Cause pay back is a biotch!"
“What did I EVER DO TO YOU!?” Shin whined, bounding up the mountain’s side like an animal, using well-placed shards once again for footholds. He barreled his way to the summit, stopping to stand in front of Arielle, finger pointing. “Just what do you think--” He spun, shooting down a hovering drone angrily, then continued. “You’re doing?”

"What? You made rocks fall towards me!" Arielle defended. "Thank god Nate picked me up and carried me out of the way! Well, I would have survived regardless....but I would have been splashed everywhere! And that's not cool!" she shook her finger in the boy's face.
"Now if you don't mind, I have a flag to capture. See ya!" She waved and jetted upwards once again in a stream of water.

“What, I did nothing of the sort. Only made a few pebbles tumble down a mountain’s side, and that’s nothing like a landslide.” Shin pouted, resting his hand on his hip as the girl jetted off again. “Although I didn’t pay much attention to those pebbles after they’d fallen. Maybe—“ He gasped. Oh man, he hoped he hadn’t started anything!
“Hey, wait!” He rushed after her, waving his hand. They were so close to the flag at the top now, he could see it. He could also see some devilish robots, out to harass. “Ugh…” Shin stopped, dropping his hand. He stood, palm facing the nearest one and focused on his attack. A ring of shards grew up around the robot’s body, spinning for a brief moment, and then dissipating into nothing. His brow furrowed with distaste. “I guess I’m not good enough to do that trick yet…” Shin trailed. Sighing, he rushed forward to punch the robot with a fist full of ‘broken glass’, knocking it off the mountain after a few good whacks.
As the second one clattered down the wall of rock, Shin's eyes slid across the mountain, his lips pursed in thought. Come to think of it, Shin hadn’t seen Ghost in a while… “Wonder where she went off to.” He murmured before taking off towards the flag. Up and up he went! Finally, the pair had reached the top.
“And here we are…” The wind blew Shin’s hair as he stood, facing Arielle. The flag flapped only meters ahead, red against the white of the wall beyond. How would this go down?
Ghost really detested those little floating bots and their intrusion on her element. Their nets and rubber bullets always sailed harmlessly through her, but she always knocked them away from Shard as well. Really, they couldn't do anything to her except obey when she pushed them elsewhere.
Similar to their c-men training session, Ghost rounded all of the machines she could muster. Except this time, rather than hold them still and ready for destruction, she made sure to release the groups of gathered bots near Seraph and Nereid. Ghost lathered, rinsed, and repeated the process with the land-walking type, pushing them away from Shin and toward Nereid or Seraph, whoever appeared to be closer at the time. Let the other team do the dirty work. Ghost and Shin-san had some winning to do.
Speaking of... "Shin-san?" Ghost's incorporeal eyes bugged as she realized the youth she had been protecting had gotten away! And to the peak of the mountain no less! She must have been too distracted with this, her largest captured group of orbs yet. Ghost pushed the mass of struggling orbs toward the apex.
She gusted herself right on top of the flag so that the pole stood inside of her insubstantial body. No one would be grabbing it without her knowing for sure. "Great work, Shin-san! I'll keep giving them problems to hold them off, you grab the flag!"
And so Ghost let loose no less than a dozen orbs, all equipped with nets and rubber bullets that Ghost would help guide to all the right targets.

Arielle looked back to Shin, her hair flowing in the breeze just as his did. The flag was within her grasp. All she'd have to do is jet herself over and claim it. That was until she felt a breeze pass by her and heard a voice.
"Great work, Shin-san! I'll keep giving them problems to hold them off, you grab the flag!"
Arielle had forgotten about Ghost and apparently she had planned to give them some sort of distractions so Shin could snatch the flag and claim victory. Arielle wasn't about to let that happen. She was too close to lose now. Arielle saw the orbs that Ghost had released coming towards her.
Arielle let out a small sigh, taking Shin's hands into hers and she began to sing a beautiful song. "I don't know when, I don't know how, but I know something's starting right now....watch and you'll see....someday I'll be...Part of your...THE FLAG IS MINE! YAAAH!" Arielle paused in her namesake's theme song and delivering a quick pressured splash to Shin's gut and wasted no time in jetting towards the flags. Hopefully Nate would take care of anything that might stand in their way of victory. Namely those orbs and that pesky ghost.

Seraph flew towards the summit but quickly got caught up in the orbs and robots that kept popping out of no where. Until he realized that the orbs were only attacking him and Arielle. Not the other team. Ghost has something to do with this. But I can't really do anything about it.
The fire elemental just kept on taking out the orbs with his sword. The rubber bullet bruises were starting it add up though. He did manage to secure a net from one of them and add that to his arsenal making him more dangerous. But Seraph's energy wasn't going to last forever.
Seraph had an idea then and it involved the net he held in his hand. He new that he wouldn't be able to secure Ghost with it. She would just go incorporeal. But then there was the other guy who had to remain solid.
Seraph located Shin and found him attacked by a blast of water from Arielle, Seraph flew towards him and threw the net at him. Hoping to snare him while his attention was focused on Arielle's attack. After he threw the net, Seraph went back to work taking out the robots and orbs that flew his way in an attempt the clear the way for Arielle.

“Eep!” Shin fell over as water came out of nowhere and smashed in his gut. “That was a low blow!” He wept, curled into a ball and holding his chest. A devilish grin speared his lips. “I’ll just have to make it up to you later, then.” A net came whooshing in on him, wrapping him up. “Ergh…” He struggled for a moment.
“Dammit!” He spat. This thing… this…! Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes in concentration. Have to get this right… have to get it right… get it … right! His brow crinkled as snowy white triangles popped up around him, spinning their points towards the net around his form. He bit his lip, biding time before that final ultimate moment, and then--!
“ARGH!” A cry cut through the air, then the sound of something falling.
~*~
The net fell to the ground, slightly red. Shin’s breathing came heavily as he stepped towards the flag, right hand clamped on his shoulder. “Stupid…” He muttered, cursing inwardly. Narrowed slits focused in on Arielle as she rushed towards the flag. Left hand raised palm outwards, Shin focused on calling up a barrier of shards to cut her off from the goal. A reflective flash sang across the rectangular shield before he fell to one knee.
“Certainly did get what I wanted coming into this room,” his weak voice trailed, hand reaching out. “But you won’t… win.” He slumped to the side, hand falling to the snow. His world went black.
((OOC: hope it's okay that I'm ending the simulation. Also went with katakana on Shin's name as I don't know what kanji you'd use. I wasn't entirely sure of wound location and all that so let me know if I need an edit. Translations directly follow in << ~ >>'s))
"Shin!" Ghost hovered uselessly over her fallen comrade. She wasn't even sure exactly what had happened. The Danger Room carried on, however, netting Shin once more even after he was down. She wasn't confident enough to defend against the bots and help the man-down so that left one course of action.
"Computer, End simulation." Ghost drifted to the side as the Danger Room started to reabsorb all the robots and extra bits including the mountain and the flag. They would have to call it a draw because safety came first. She could only work on getting solid while the Danger Room sorted itself out.
As soon as she was solid, Ghost was there beside the still form of the asian boy. She gently pulled the new net off and felt for a pulse. It was steady. She breathed a sigh, but his left shoulder seemed wounded. She checked him for other wounds all the while calling to him in Japanese.
Hopefully, it would connect to some baser part of his brain. She'd heard him warn the water elemental of danger before in Japanese and hoped she wasn't wrong in assuming that it was his native tongue. She had been wishing for someone besides the language teacher to talk with for some time now. "シンーさん! <<Shin-san!>> 聞こえますか? <<Can you hear me?>> だいじょうぶですか? <<Are you alright?>> シんーさん? <<Shin-san?>>”
Ghost wiped a bit of sweat from her brow. That was quite a competitive work out they'd just participated in. Honestly, she didn't have juice enough left to use her element to lift him, and she wasn't nearly strong enough to pick him up. Really all she could do was panic. "Someone get the DocProf."
"Almost there, Almost there....ARG!" Arielle grunted from the impact of her running into a giant shard, causing water to splash around the top and mist everyone at the peak of the summit. Slowly, she began to recover her water particles and was able to return to her human self.
She felt a bit light headed and placed a hand to her forehead, laying on the ground to catch a breather. She saw the simulation was ended by Ghost and then heard the wind elemental calling to Shin in japanese.
"Whats going on?" Arielle asked turning in the direction if Ghost's voice. Her eyes widened as she saw an unconscious Shin on the ground and she wasted no time coming to the boy's aid.
"Shin!" she called poking the asian on his forehead and continued to do so, however she didn't receive any responses. She then turned her hand to liquid and rubbed Shin's face, hoping the water would wake him up.
"C'mon Shin...don't be doin this to me," Arielle pleaded as Ghost ordered someone to call DocProf. Arielle had no clue who that was, after all, she was new. "Um, Nate you get the Doc?" she asked.
Seraph continued to dismantle anything that came near him. But that ended along with the simulation. He turned around to see what the problem was. Shin had managed to get himself knocked out. Then Ghost had cut the cimulation short. It wasn't a big deal to him since he wanted to make sure everyone was healthy first.
Seeing as the session had ended, Seraph shifted back into Nathan. The wings going back into his body only causing him a discomfort. Nothing to worry about. The boy Shin didn't appear to sustain any life threatening injuries. The shoulder would have to be looked at but only to prevent infection.
At Arielle's suggestion, Nathan walked over to the wall of the Danger Room. They had a direct comlink to DocProf's office just for situations like this. "Hey, Doc. We have an unconscious student in the Danger Room. We need you to come take a look at him." And with that Nathan walked back over to the fallen Shin and waited for the Doc to arrive.

As he faded to black, the others’ calls came to him. Words in Japanese, and Arielle, and even Nathan’s voice… and he could do nothing but drift off. How sad.
~*~
Shin shifted some time later, world blurry as he held a hand to shield his eyes from the light. He squinted up at Arielle, who… slapped him across the face with a hand made of water? No. She was just running it along, trying to wake him. He tried to sit up and tell them he was fine, but a stinging pain in his shoulder and a weakness in his chest served as a bitter reminder. He fell back down, cursing his luck.
“Sorry, guys… guess the bruise was a little more’n a bruise…” A cracked rib. He’d been fighting with one. Brilliant.
Ghost wasn't sure that covering an unconscious man's face with water was a wise decision, but it seemed to do the trick and Shin's eyes opened. He tried to sit up, which was obviously a bad idea, but Ghost didn't try to stop him. She didn't know him well enough yet. She was afraid of being impolite or too friendly or get too... attached.
He jogged to the Danger Room in mere moments, spurned by adrenaline and the love of his students. When he arrived however, Doc Prof realized that he was not as young as he used to be and he had to take a moment to collect himself before speaking. "Give him some air, please." The oldest resident of the mansion huffed and readjusted the glasses that perpetually sat at the end of his nose before approaching the young ones.
For some reason, Ghost had thought he meant to use her as a ventilator again and so she did not move. Not until DocProf kindly said, "Some space, please?" did she understand that he meant move not literally give him air. Ghost gave a half smile to Shin before getting up and walking away... as far as the danger room would allow before she sat down against the cold metallic wall. What was wrong with her?
Oh. Right. Her best friend, who also happened to be her boyfriend, defected to the dark side on the same day they raided the mansion. She'd never had trust issues before, but it was a lesson she had apparently needed. Ghost frowned, folded her arms across her knees and lay her forehead against her arms. People die and people leave. Sometimes it's not a choice, but when it is... Ghost would wait to see if Shin would be okay, but she probably wouldn't hang around for much more. She had homework that she'd been putting off.
"How long was he out?" DocProf went through the usual steps as he waited for an answer: pin light in the eyes to check for dilation issues, a quick blood pressure test, and a visual inspection of the wounds including the side he was favoring.
