The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(ooc: sorry guys not trying to cut anyone out. but I couldn't resist, feel free to add anything you may think of.)
“Mutant?”
“What is a…. mutant?”
This question struck Streak as odd. Where has she been. How can she not know about mutants especially what happened at the camps. He thought. It seemed very odd to him but he put that aside to answer the questions she had presented, no matter how odd they seemed.
"What is a mutant? I see that I've peaked your interest." Shawn parroted. A sly grin crept to one side of his face. He quickly wiped it away and continued.
"A mutant, by definition, is a human that has an alteration in their genetic material of a normal human cell. It's not a disease. I just want to point that out as one of the first things here. However, may humans think it is a disease. There wrong." He said this last part very seriously. Then he continued. "You are a mutant. You're not sick. You don't need fixing. No mutant needs 'fixing'. Anyway," He said in a happier tone.
"As I was saying, you're a mutant, I'm a mutant, Sam and Nathan are mutants. Everyone here is a mutant." This time he smiled. "Whatever that lion thing was you are obviously creating it subconsciously, and thats not a bad thing. You just need control and here a this school for mutants you can learn that control." Streak digressed a little so he changed back on to the course of the question. "Just like with normal people there are good and there are bad. There are dangerous humans and there are good humans. Right now you'd be better off here as a mutant than anywhere else. And I do mean anywhere." He let that last part hang trying to keep her interest in what he was saying and what has been going on. "Either of y'all got anything else to add?" Streak asked turning to glance at Sam and Seraph.

Nathan was caught off guard when the girl mentioned getting fixed. He knew that some mutants resented their gifts because they thought them unnatural. He even went through a point in his life when he didn't know what to think of his powers. Was it a gift or curse? Was he an angel or devil? But he was past that now. His powers were a gift and one to be used for the betterment of all. He sympathized with the girl.
But then she revealed that she had no knowledge of the goings on of the mutant world. She didn't know that mutants existed. The girl's innocence struck a cord in Nathan. He used to wish that he knew nothing of mutants and gifts. Ignorance is bliss or so it is said.
"Shawn is right. Our gifts are apart of us. So therefore we must learn to control them just like any other part of our body. Most importantly, they are gifts. And they should be treated as such. There are all kinds of mutants that use their powers for reasons that they think are justified. But to use something so special so carelessly implies that you are not using your gifts the way they were intended."

Sam was flabbergasted he didn’t know how to respond to Sophia saying she needed to be fixed. Sam thought of a great way to respond but he was to late. Streak jumped in and had a way better response. Then once again Sam was utterly speechless, had she been living under a rock, even he knew about mutants before coming to the mansion.
“Shawn is right.
Sam once again was beaten to another great response about how using our powers for good define as humans. Sam looked confused for a second they both had such good descriptions. Sam felt left out, so trying not to feel like a complete fool he said, “Your not broken so you don’t need fixing.” He finished with a smile mad he couldn’t come up with anything better. "Also i got to add, that is a wicked lion."
“I think you are… mistaken?” she seemed to point out. They continued to give a lecture about something they might have known about. But Sophia, in her mind, wasn’t one of these mutants. They must have been tricking her or attempting to poke fun at her unfortunate mess. Unlike them, Sophia was not weighting the benefits of various people in to the mix, except for herself and her parents.
“No… I don’t think I’m one of these mutants. I’m here… to be fixed. If I’m not fixed, then people will get hurt, I’ll get in more trouble, and my parents… they won’t let me go back home. I was told if I came here, people can take a look at my head and fix it. Otherwise, things will be bad at home…” innocence may have been an interesting choice of words in some people’s mind, but Sophia believed she was here to be fixed some how. Unknowingly, Sophia was damaged, mentally after a horrible car accident. It messed up her mind, and as such, screwed up her ability to normally use her mutant powers.
According to her parents, she was here for one reason, to these boys, it was another, as though she was specially here to be trained some how. Sophia though had no interest in training, but rather getting rid of the strange things that were happening around her, “I don’t want anything strange to happen around me anymore. Mama and Papa don’t like it when these guardians appear, they mess stuff up.”

Streak paused and listened to what both Seraph and Sam had to say about being a mutant. Nathan made a good point and even though Sam's was short and to the point it made sense. Once they had finished Sophia piped up. She obviously thought something completely different than they did about mutants and mutations.
“I think you are… mistaken?” “No… I don’t think I’m one of these mutants. I’m here… to be fixed. If I’m not fixed, then people will get hurt, I’ll get in more trouble, and my parents… they won’t let me go back home. I was told if I came here, people can take a look at my head and fix it. Otherwise, things will be bad at home…” “I don’t want anything strange to happen around me anymore. Mama and Papa don’t like it when these guardians appear, they mess stuff up.”
"Apparently we have two different view on whats going on here." Streak stated obviously. "There's nothing wrong with being a mutant. Obviously what you think you have or what you think is wrong with you and what you are, what we all are, are you may think are two different things. But there not their one and the same. Now I'm no expert but I think that the reason your 'guardians', as you call them, come out because you aren't accepting this fact. I think that they come out because they are trying to prove to you that no matter what you do they will always be their to protect you and keep you safe." He paused and thought about what else he could say to make her realize what they were saying was the truth. He then had an idea.
Right in front of her eyes he concentrated on his mutation bringing it out from where it normally hid. He concentrated on his silver and let it slowly cover his body. It crawled up his skin slowly then faster. It covered his face and crawled down his arms. It appeared under his shorts and finished covering his entire body. Once that was finished he said, "This saved my life when I was younger." He thought that maybe it would be best if he tried to relate to her experience. Nathan had already heard this part. He wasn't going to tell the whole thing but just the part that was relevant. "You said you were in a car accident, right? So was I. Sort of. About eight or nine years ago I was hit by an 18-wheeler outside my parents farm. My mutation kicked in and saved my life. I have a feeling that your mutation did the same thing. It protected me from being completely obliterated by the truck, and it protected you in that car accident. After I found out what happened I was scared, scarred, patronized, and more. Needless to say I was the media main focus. Anyway long story short. I came here for help to get control over this instead of the other way around.
"The teachers here helped me understand what was happened to me with my mutation. They also work with you personally, and so does everyone here not only teachers, to help you get better and better at understanding yourself specifically. Mainly this place helps with self exploration." He realized that he was going on a little so he stopped. He hoped that it helped her understand that she's not alone here. He left it open for everyone to comment.
“I don’t think… you understand…” Sophia meekly relied. She was offly scared, of what it was quite sure, but this person lecturing to her seemed rather defensive about this mutant subject. Sophia though had never denied that mutants existed at all, but it seemed like this person was under the impression she did. She may have not thought of herself as a mutant just yet, but despite this, Shawn continued to lecture her on the subject as though convincing him self rather than her.
“You make it seem like I said you don’t exist…. That’s not what I meant. Maybe mutants do exist, and maybe this is a school for them. If it is… then there might be someone here who can fix me?” even if she was one, the thought never crossed her mind at all, and with these boys breathing down her neck, she wasn’t quite sure if she was one at all, since they weren’t really trying to convince her she was one. It seemed most like they were trying to bully her in to admitting she was one.
“Who needs fixing?” suddenly there was this tiny voice beside her feet, shouting upwards at those above her. It was the dinner girl from before, dressed in this very fashionable pure black, gothic Lolita dress, complete with ruffles and lace, even a black little headdress on her head. Her skin was a fair complexion, a pair of green eyes and long, dark black hair tied in a pair of pigtails at the back of her head. Though she might have been the cutest thing in the world if she had smiled and was in a cuter pose; instead her arms were on her hips, looking up at the boys with intent in her eyes, “And you three sure are a trio of bullies. Backing her up in to a wall and then trying to bullying her in to believing she’s a mutant. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

(ooc:I hope this works. )
Streak once again listened to Sophia talking. He was getting a little frustrated but he tried to not let it show as best he could in his face, body language or voice when he spoke. After Sophia finished talking it was apparent that she thought they were bullying her. That was actually the last thing they were trying to do to her. All they were trying to do was make her understand. Suddenly a little girl showed up from out of nowhere.
“I don’t think… you understand…” “You make it seem like I said you don’t exist…. That’s not what I meant. Maybe mutants do exist, and maybe this is a school for them. If it is… then there might be someone here who can fix me?”
“Who needs fixing?” “And you three sure are a trio of bullies. Backing her up in to a wall and then trying to bullying her in to believing she’s a mutant. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Streak actually did look ashamed. He wasn't sure what to do. He tried relating to her and tried convincing her but nothing seemed to work. "Hi there. I didn't see you there." Streak said looking at the little person that came up to stand next to Sophia. "I'm sorry." Streak said, "We weren't trying to bully her." He sounded very timid and sad like he was being yelled at by someone. "Technically, we didn't back her up. She backed away from us. We haven't moved. But I understanding what you're saying. I have a major question. If she's not a mutant, than what do you think you are? What do you think is wrong with you?" he said. Maybe if she answered this question he could figure out how to convince her that what they were saying was true.

Sam smiled as another thing popped out of the ground. This time it was a little girl, and she was so tiny. The little girl spoke in the cutest little voice. Sam immediately thought of a little doll when he saw her. “And you three sure are a trio of bullies. Backing her up in to a wall and then trying to bullying her in to believing she’s a mutant. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Sam thought long and hard about her being a mutant, it was obvious she was one. But why was she convinced she wasn’t why was she convinced that she was broken? Maybe she doesn’t want to accept the fact that she is one, she did say her parents sent her here to be fixed. Sam was about to speak but decided to wait for the right moment to speak.
Maybe if she answered this question he could figure out how to convince her that what they were saying was true.
Sam layed down to get eye level with the little doll like girl he extended his hand for a shake, “hey there I’m Sam.” Sam then looked to Streak “You know maybe she isn’t a mutant. Sam gave streak a wink hoping he would see it and stop trying to convince her that she is one, it was obviously upsetting her so why not try to convince her at a latter time when she is more open to the idea. Sam looked up from the little girl and looked to Sophia, “I believe you.” He said with a smile trying to comfort her so she wasn’t so afraid. Sam then went back to looking at the girl that stood close to two feet.

Shawn seemed to take the lead in the conversation, which was fine with Nathan. He didn't like being in the spotlight anyway. When Shawn made his silvery display Nathan also revealed his powers. He created a small ball of flame in his outstrectched hand and caused it to dance from finger to finger. He cut it off after a moment. Sophia saw what he needed her to see.
"What other explanation could you give yourself other than, you have a gift? What would you call yourself besides a mutant?"
After a while a small child joined their discussion as well. The new girl seemed to appear out of no where and stayed at Sophia's feet. And then Sam started to talk to her. Nathan then continued to watch in silence until he saw a chance to put in a good arguement.
“Wrong with me? HAHAHAHAHAHA!” her laughter was as annoying as her own voice was coming out of her. She might have been extremely cute and easily something any girl would want add to their prized collection of dolls, but this particular doll’s personality would have scared away most folk. Self absorbed, crude, and above all else, not very easily amused, “First of all, I’m not a what, I am a who. And who I am is Elizabeth, Baroness to Las Vegas. Secondly, don’t talk down to me like I’m some child. I may look small, but I’m not little.”
“Elizabeth… don’t,” Sophia meekly called out to Elizabeth, perhaps in a vain attempt to get her to stop talking, as her talking never led her to anything good. Elizabeth however spun around and shot a dirty look at her, like she was telling her to ’Stay quiet and shut up,’ all in a single look.
“According to reliable information, Mutants are individuals that surpass normal humans in abilities, strength, and appearance. We are obviously not that, we far superior than that. You may have notice the kitty, that’s Mordred, out little enforcer. And if you behave nicely and don’t treat my servant poorly, you won’t have to meet my big enforcer,” Elizabeth seemed to prance back and forth, as though it were her turn to lecture and she was simply walking back and forth as a way to exercise her legs. However, she never gave up the impression of being a know it all, or appearing arrogant for absolutely knowing it all, “If you technically want to classify us, then we are a Superior Mutant. My servant’s powers go far beyond what you can imagine. That’s because she’s the Imagine Witch!”
“Please Elizabeth,” Sophia gentle folded down to the ground and picked up Elizabeth, cradling her in both arms and adjusting her so that she held thigh against her upper torso, but still facing back toward the boys. As she brought Elizabeth up to her body, the life like doll continued to kick and squirm out of Sophia’s grasp, but much like any time before hand it wasn’t going to happen, so she decided to make the best of it, “That’s enough. If she says that I’m a mutant, than it must be true.”
“Ofcourse I’m right, I’m always right!” just as she said it, swirls of light appeared before Sophia and Elizabeth, and quickly disappeared, giving way to a small china plate with a single slice of cake and tiny fork to go along with it. Heavy on the frosting, coming off a layered circular cake, Elizabeth quickly reached out for it before it fell to the floor form mid air, and began munching down on to the cake as though it were suddenly tea time. She would pause, only to taunt and brag a little bit more, “You can’t possibly imagine what she can do. So don’t even try to bully or tease her, Got it!”

Streak caught Sam's meaning but he wasn't sure where he was going. If he was trying reverse psychology than maybe they should be taking a completely different approach. "I never try to imagine what others are capable of until I see what they can do." Streak said to the little short tempered doll. Elizabeth as Sophia called her seemed to be the complete opposite of Sophia. She was quiet, shy, and not very out going; Elizabeth, on the other hand, seemed short tempered, enthusiastic about what she was saying, and even a little arrogant of their superiority. Elizabeth, Shawn was sure, could have been a cute doll if she didn't seem so defensive and angry.
Streak listened to Elizabeth. She seemed to be better at talking to groups of people than Sophia was. However, she didn't do it all that politely. Streak also listened as she described how she thought Sophia was so powerful. It was true from what he'd seen already she was very powerful and quite possible more powerful than himself. The main thing Sophia needs to learn is control and her power would increase so much. he thought.
"I would never dream of teasing anyone. Especially her. I believe you as well. From what I've seen Sophia is very powerful." He said in his most sincere tone without even the slightest trace of mocking or untruthfulness in his voice. "Why does she call you her servant? I can see she has a mind of her own and her own free will and everything but why does she call you her servant?" His question was directed towards Sophia, however, he thought that Elizabeth might answer him because of the way she talked down to them like they were less important or less powerful.
“My your stupid,” with a small corner of cake being quickly shoved in to her mouth, the tiny doll assumed it insulting to ask such a question. Wasn’t t obvious to everyone else that Sophia was not necessarily the one in control? “You never ask the servant why they’re a servant. It should be obvious anyways, take a look at her. Anyone can see that I’m the one talking and the one in charge.”
”Elizabeth…! Time to go,” and with that, Sophia dropped Elizabeth from her original cradling position and allowed her to fall down toward the ground with the most minimal effort. Though Elizabeth look just before hand was one of confusion, as she fell, she seemed to understand what was going on. She might have though she was in control, but Sophia was the real one in control and from time to time, Elizabeth did tend to listen to what Sophia asked of her. Though once Elizabeth’s body began hitting the ground, she didn’t stop moving, and continued to pass through the floor, as though she were a ghost, disappearing completely a half a second later completely as her entire body finished phasing through the ground.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” she quickly began apologizing profusely. She hadn’t been this embarrassed or confused in a while, not since she first woke up in the hospital a few years ago, but she was perhaps in a slightly better position than back there. Though she had to admit a few things, “If Elizabeth says I’m a Mutant, than that’s what I am. She… only comes out to defend me; everyone only ever comes out to defend me. But I do need to be… fixed… I need to have them stop coming out when ever they want. Otherwise… I can’t go home.”

Streak just stared at Elizabeth when she called him stupid. He wasn't stupid he was a little confused with everything that seemed to be going on around Sophia. He watched Sophia drop Elizabeth like dropping a normal doll. Surprisingly Elizabeth kept going when she reached the floor until she disappeared. He didn't know where she went but was pretty glad she was gone. Shawn looked back at Sophia as she started apologizing. Well, now that she's admitted she's a mutant we can move on. Shawn thought. He smiled at her, his mood returning to where it was before all of this happened.
He thought for a minute after Elizabeth had disappeared and Sophia had stopped apologizing. "Well we've got people here that can help you get better so that you can go back to your family. No guarantees on how long that will take though." Shawn said to her. "There's plenty of people to help around here." He sounded like he was a sales person so he stopped. He didn't want a repeat of what had just happened.

Just as soon as the little girl appeared she disappeared, and Sophia was apologizing for it. After Streak talked about how there are many people here to help her Sam nodded as he got up off the ground and brushed his pants of dust he looked up at her and said, “Like me for instance, I haven’t been here for very long but, if you every need help with something don’t hesitate to ask.” He smiled at her and then created a small figure of ice similar to Elizabeth, which he made walk over to Sophia, and bow Sam then said, “It takes time but with some effort I am sure we can be getting you home soon.” Even though Sam didn’t approve that much about her parents kicking her out cause she has no control of her powers he only wanted her to feel safe here. Cause on the off chance that she couldn’t control her powers she would have to make this place or another place to call home.
Sam waved and smiled at her and said “Well Sophia I hope I see you around here soon, and I mean it when I said I’ll help you with whatever you need.” He finished this with a friendly smile and a small wink and then waved to the guys, “I’ll see you guys soon.” As he started to walk off the little doll he created chased after him till it caught up and then it just kept pace with him. With his back turned to the group he did his signature wave with out looking continuing with his day.

Nathan listened and observed the entire exchange between all of them. The hairs on the back of his neck started to rise when the girl mentioned superior mutant. He really didn't give Sophia that much credit. But after he thought about it he reasoned that it could be possible. It just made him more wary of Sophia.
Then Sophia dropped Elizabeth and Nathan waited to hear the sound of the small child hit the ground. But it never came. He watched as Elizabeth phased into the floor and out of sight. Sophia began apologizing and he started to reassure her.
"There is no need for you to be sorry Sophia. You haven't done anything wrong. Some people just have more control over their gift than others. It's much the same as the different abilities we each have."
Sam then decided to leave them and he couldn't resist putting on a display for the newly arrived Sophia. As the ice sculpture followed Sam, Nathan could not help but smile at the fact.
"Would you like any help with those bags Sophia?
OOC: Just improvising with the bags. I don't recall her having any. You can ignore this if you want. Cool sig by the way, Streak.
