The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A notion quickly reentered Sophia mind a short second after Sam seemed to disappear from the group, as though recalled something someone had mentioned earlier. If this was a school, where was the classes, where were all the other students, the teachers, and what exactly were they teaching here. No where in sight did it appear like the high school Sophia had once attended years ago. Even though she did attend one at one point, this didn’t look like it at all, and if it were, it was more of a mansion for a wealthy family than a school.
“A question I have, if this is a school, where are the class rooms? Do people commute here from there homes? Is there some sort of administration process I must go through? Is there anyone in particular I should meet with, to let them know I am here?” Sophia wondered, conjuring the intuitive nature to wonder perhaps if there was a process to this all that she should consider doing. The last thing she wanted was to do was to get in trouble at a school if she were going to be expected to attend, “That is if I can go here perhaps?”

Streak smiled at the little ice sculpture that Sam created. It was very creative and amusing. He then turned his attention back to Sophia. It seemed like they had finally broken the ice with her and she was really interested in living here. She was finally asking question which was a good indicator that she had decided to stay.
“A question I have, if this is a school, where are the class rooms? Do people commute here from there homes? Is there some sort of administration process I must go through? Is there anyone in particular I should meet with, to let them know I am here?” “That is if I can go here perhaps?”
"Good questions. Fist of all I would just like to say that you can stay. There's no doubt about that. Next, the class rooms are here on the first floor just down the hall." He motioned down behind him and off the corner where that just looked like a hallway. "We have plenty of room here. Since most of us are like you, or our parents don't want us around because they don't like mutants, this place has turned into our home. Since that's the case this place is a boarding school. Even though were still rebuilding a little from the raid that put most of us in the camps we've got plenty of room here for you to stay. We should be finished rebuilding very soon anyways." Once again he was getting off track so he continued answering her questions.
"There's a form you need to fill out for Neena. She's in charge of admission. She really knows what she's doing." He reached over to the table again and picked up a larger folder. He opened it to make sure he was looking at the right one. Once he was sure he was he said, "Here. This is the form you have to fill out. It's got the basic info like your power, your name, age, if your power is dangerous ya know etcetera, etcetera. You should probably meet Neena." He said. "I don't really know where she is right now. I thought she'd be here by now." He said looking around in case she came along.

Nathan listened as Streak aswered all of Sophia's questions. He pretty much covered everything that she needed to know for just arriving at the Mansion. He left out one thing, so Nathan decided to capitalize on that mistake. He quickly grabbed a brochure and handed it to Sophia.
"Here is a brochure with all the things that the Mansion has to offer. There's also a nifty little map inside of it. Just in case you need to find something."
Nathan thought they had pretty much covered everything she could think of. He remembered that Streak mentioned Neena and wondered if she could be anywhere near them at the moment.
Shawn dibbled on as though perhaps he were the welcoming committee, though Sophia began wondering if he were the one to trust. Moments ago, he was nearly bulling her in to the back of the wall, forcing both Mordred and Elizabeth to appear. Neither was a good thing to have out, but atleast it wasn’t her third and most fearsome guardian she had been known to see and have visits from occasionally. A much larger robot that she only ever nicked name Big Guy, simply because it was over twenty feet tall and big. Atleast the robot didn’t come out, since even its arms could stretch out of the ground with out revealing its whole body, and cause quite a large amount of damage in the process.
After being handed the information packet from Nathan, she took a second look at the forms that Shawn had presented her. It was something similar to the application she had filled out for her library card and drivers license. She wasn’t a very good driver, but passed it none the less, and had it incase she ever needed it. This wasn’t overly difficult, but the powers section of it seemed difficult to summarize because she herself wasn’t fully aware of her actual powers. Up until little over three years ago, she wasn’t even aware she existed, muchless knew her own life, so writing down her powers would have been like writing a history of her life, very lacking, “I… I don’t know what my powers are? How exactly do I fill that part out? Also, when do you think I should meet with this Neena person? I’ll wait if I have to, I don’t want to cause any problems.”
Outside, a loud thud!! sounded, followed by a string of words obviously not English, and obviously not pleasant. Several minutes later a tall, dark-skinned woman came limping through the front door, covered in leaves and twigs. She held a pair of bent sunglasses in one hand, and rubbed her almost-white eyes with the others.
Upon seeing the youths in the hallway, she paused.
"Don't repeat that, please," she remarked wearily, refering to the earlier string of oaths. She yawned hugely, then asked, "How'ya doin' fellas?"

Neena simply just walked in through the front door comepletely oblivious to the fact that they had wanted her to meet Sophia. Nathan held his laugh in, but could not hide the smirk that crept into his face. Wow, that was nifty.
"I've been all right Neena. Just been hanging around. This is Sophia. She just arrived and she needs to get set up with everything."

Ali walked down the stairs from the girls side of the dorm rooms. She could hear talking in the main entrance area. A couple of the voices she recognized so she decided to check things out as she had nothing else to do.
Approaching the voices revealed Nathan, Neena, Streak and a new girl. Was she new or had Ali just missed seeing her around? Ali placed a hand on Nathan's shoulder.

Nathan felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around. His face light up when he noticed it was Ali. She could make the sun come out and shine on the darkest day. He gave her a hug and started to explain what had been going on since Sophia arrived. He didn't go too much in depth since Sophia was standing right there. As he talked, he gave Ali a look saying that he would explain more if she wanted too.
"This is Sophia. She just arrived and is starting to get settled in."

Ali smiled as Nathan hugged her. He was so sweet to her. She looked at Sophia as nathan explained things a bit. The woman could see that the new girl had been given one of the welcome folders.
"Welcome Sophia. You may call me Ali or Raven Fire. I'll answer to either."
The first signs of female life at this so called school were almost immediately awkward to Sophia. While the first person who charged through the door way was covered in the remains of tree parts including twigs and scraps of leaves, another was dressed in overly bright colors with fire red hair dripping down the back of her head. Sophia couldn’t help but be thrown back some as the first one appeared as but friendly and welcoming, but rather as though she had been in a fight with a large tree and lost in the process. Then after hearing others address her as Neena, she was even more put off by the idea that she was the one she was suppose to meet and be introduced to.
The second she had suddenly come to learn was another person of the school, perhaps a student, but judging from her appearance, she might have appeared more of a fiery fashion model instead, looking very bright and colorful in the process of it all. So many bright colors were difficult to follow, as Sophia’s own tones were subdued and no where close to being vivid as hers. All the randomness was suddenly making Sophia very nervous and scared, as two new people appeared, one looking neither friendly nor welcoming, and another so bright that it reminded Sophia of the very element of fire the process.
There was no mistaking Sophia’s timid nature, or the fact that the two new people had taken her back some, but what followed was never intended to harm any of them. She moved along the wall, much like a cartoon character would stealth across it, hugging her body closely to the wall until she was close enough to the door to bolt out of it completely, leaving behind her own bags in the process. Frightened beyond her intent she didn’t get horribly far as she tripped almost comically down the few steps leading up the doorway, landing on the ground a second later with dirt slightly scrunched on her face.

Streak looked past Sophia as Neena walked in. Aside from the loud thump outside Neena looked like she just fell out of a tree or something equally weird. After Neena greeted both Streak and Nathan, Nathan introduced Sophia to Neena. "Hey Neena. I'm doin' fine." Streak piped up once the introductions were taken care of. Streak turned his attention back to Sophia to see how she was going to hand the introduction of a new person. She didn't seem to take lightly being social.
When Nathan started talking again he turned around and saw Ali standing next to Nathan. "Hey Ali." He gave a little wave to her but he was more interested on how Sophia was going to take the sudden introduction of not one person, who was strange enough by herself, but two people. He watched her as she backed up to the wall. Oh no Not again. Streak though as he watched her inch her way back towards the open door. When Sophia tripped and fell down the stair Streak quickly ran over to her to help her up. He held out his hand and said, "Here let me help you up." Smiling, the silver man waited to see how she was going to react.
"Sophia?" Neena blinked. Ah! That must have been the now-seen youth attempting to slink away against the wall. Her retreat ended, rather gracelessly, face down in the dirt outside.
The teacher turned and made a quick mental count. Three young men, two of them six feet or taller, and a young woman with bright red hair. Add in her tree-attacked self, and you had a five-to-one situation going on.
Neena drew the conclusion that Sophia was not a people person.
While Streak moved out to comfort her, Neena gave the others a 'Wait here' motion with her hands, with a wink and a smile, then headed out the front door. She left it open a crack so the others could peek out and listen, but she hoped they wouldn't come out just yet.
She plopped onto the ground next to Sophia, putting herself at eye-level, and smiled widely.
"Well now, you've certainly made an entrance. First day here and you've already managed to attract some of the cutest guys on campus," she teased with a wink. "I'm impressed. Nice to meet ya, Shophia."
She avoided asking questions just yet, since the girl already seemed spooked.
She rubbed her head, wiping the excess dirt that had accumulated on her face as a reaction to her tripping down the stairs. Miraculously, she wasn’t hurt, not a scratch or bump on Sophia at all, though her face was tinted with a red bright enough to attract a bull’s attention. Dangerously embarrassed by tripping down the stairs, it had been a while since Sophia had been clumsy like that, though she was known from time to time to do that though, fall down stairs or trip randomly on the tiniest little thing in her path if as though magnetically drawn to the tips of her feet.
But that was nothing compared to the strange woman who appeared before Sophia as she got up. It was the same on as before, somehow dressed as though she came back from fighting the worlds most animated and violent tree, with branches, twigs, and leaves scattered all over her body as though it was what made her entire body up. Her casual and playful wink didn’t do anything for Sophia besides frighten her even more than she already was. Before long Sophia was back up against the stairs and along the ground, but her movements didn’t continue for very long. In Sophia’s mind, here was this very savage looking woman, coming forward to her, even though she might have been sweet, Sophia only saw it has though she were trying to lure her in to some sort of trap.
Though none of this lasted very long, as Sophia continued to back up, something began coming out from the ground. It was metallic too, and it wasn’t slowly coming out of the ground, rather fast. At first it just seemed like random metal pieces coming out, but soon it was very apparent that it was a large metal hand popping out of the ground, coming out at a thirty degree angle along with its massive arm, shooting out of the ground just along the right side of Sophia. At it came out, part of its shoulder also popped out of the ground, shooting outward toward the scary tree lady who had attempted to just communicate with Sophia. Though the only thing she could do, simply utter a simply whimper, “Oh… no…”
It seemed Sophia was more scared than Neena had realized, to judge from how she scuttled away from the teacher, despite the lack of movement on Neena's part. The older woman tilted her head curiously, trying to think of a way to calm the girl.
And her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by what appeared to be a gigantic, metal hand rising up out of the ground, and aimed in her direction.
"Whoooaaaa.... that's a big arm."
Two thoughts crossed her mind rapid succession. One, this had something to do with the girl's mutation, likely triggered by her fear. Two, if the others reacted and tried to help, this situation was going to go from bad to worse in a New York Minute.
She acted on both thoughts at once. She uncurled and rolled away from the enormous hand. Once out of immediate harm's way she sprang into a crouch on all fours, leaving a trail of tree debris as she went. At the same time she shouted out to Streak and the others.
"Everyone stay calm and don't move!" Her tone held no fear, but rather a firm command. As she called out, she uncoiled like a spring, and took a running leap, aiming to land on the wrist portion of the arm, again dropping leaves and twigs from her hair and clothes along the way.
And, in typical, unpredictable, eccentric Neena-style, a wide grin split her face during the entire experience. A short laugh even left her throat as she held on, like a cowboy riding a rodeo bull.
Sophia had seen this metal hand coming out of the ground before, knowing its effects and habits very well at this point. At no point was it ever a good thing, only ever having been the cause of extreme annoyance and despair for Sophia. The only times it had even been useful to stop large objects coming after Sophia, like a random rock that nearly crushed her, and ofcourse, destroying property. One such time, a boy and his friends tried to pick on Sophia, jumping out of their car and coming over to harass Sophia. No sooner had they come to harass Sophia, did the metal arm pop out of the ground, shooting out from beside her and actually grabbing the car, crushing it in the process, and scaring the guys away, but causing quite a scene in the process.
Hopefully this wouldn’t be like that time, but the way it was shaping up, it could be much, much worse. The arm snapped backwards, moving slowly at first as it arced and pulled itself backwards, quickly finding its arm flying and into a sudden stop with the ground and its wrist and hand were planted backwards against the ground behind Sophia. Just as it had finished, more of it began to show. Slowly a shoulder popped out of the ground, followed by more of it’s head, sort of mechanized man at it were, looking emotionless, yet somehow angry. However was no longer cowering on the ground, attempting to push it back in to the ground rather, much like she had tried to do earlier with the evil looking cat as it tried to escape from the wall moments ago, screaming out to whom ever could hear, “RUN AWAY!”
“Please go away, please go away, please go away…” she began softly pleading as she continued to push the creature down in the ground, striving with all her might to force it away before it appeared up out of the ground fully. It wasn’t working, even more ifs massive body began popping out of the ground, along with another arm that was equal in size. Soon, it seemed as though it would be all over, as move its body was up out of the ground, from what could be perceived as this hips and upward was easily visible to all. It seemed angry, as much as a giant mechanical man with massive chest and arms could, though looking very menacing and threatening. Sophia was just below, it still trying to push it back in to the ground, whimpering as she did, “Please, don’t do this now, just go away… please just go away…”
