The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character's real name: Arisa DeVeaux
Codename/Alias: Plague
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Nationality/Ethnicity: African American
Birthplace: Chicago, IL
Personality: Arisa at one time had been a very bright and happy person, easy to talk to and very likeable. However since the onset of her mutation at puberty and the number of people harmed or even killed by her abilities she has become a bit darker. She is soft spoken though not in a meek way, it's more of a foreboding aloofness. People often think of her as being cold or uncaring but these are tactics used to keep people at a distance so that those she cares about won't be harmed. Arisa is a rather skilled writer and has even published a horror novel under the pin name Daliah Black. Her worst fear and biggest worry is that her powers will go out of control and harm everyone and everything around her.
Allegiance: At this time Arisa is Neutral mostly because she tries to stay away from people if she can.
Everyday clothing: Arisa wears a large amount of black in order to deter people from interacting with her. Her style is dark but chic and she is often seen wearing black skirts, stiletto boots, and a lot of black lace. She is also known to wear other colors including white, but most of her wardrobe is black. She has no team uniform as she is not a member of any faction (as of yet). And her sleeping attire is often something made of silk.
Hair color and style: Arisa's hair in long and black falling in soft waves and curls down to the middle of her back though more often then not it's flat ironed straight.
Eye color: Her eyes are an odd shade of honey gold, however when her powers are active her entire eye becomes a jet black orb. Height: When not in heals Arisa stands at about 5'9.
Build: Arisa is very thin and waif like, some have even described her as willowy. She has a hard time building up muscle mass since her powers keep her physically weak.
Scars: None
Tattoos: Arisa has a tattoo of trailing down her spine that says "Damned" in Arabic.
Piercings: Arisa has her ears pierced twice and a stud in her nose.
Description of ability(ies): Arisa or Plague as she calls herself nowadays has the ability to create and manipulate disease. This effect is achieved by psyonicly creating what looks like black mist composed of a viral energy. The disease is not necessarily fatal however it can become so if left untreated. The intensity and lethality of the disease is determined by her stress level. The more agitated she becomes to more virulent the disease. At its most intense it can cause death within an hour after infection. If under debilitating stress, such as intense fear, Plague can lose control over her powers and thus the viral energy will radiate from her body but only within a radius of about 10 to 15ft. after which the energy evaporates. When her powers are active Arisa takes on minor physical changes. Her eyes become black spheres and her fair but still deep complexion becomes mildly ashen. Also black spider like veins appear around her hairline, down her neck, shoulder, arms, and hands. When someone becomes infected by Plague's powers they also undergo some physically visible changes. The skin become pale and sallow, they break out into cold sweats, black veins form under their skin, and their eyes dilate. Common symptoms immediately following infection can but don't always include: Fatigue, black outs, nausea and vomiting, cold chills and uncontrollable shivering, high fever, hallucinations, and head and body pain. As stated before, in extreme cases or if left untreated the disease can become fatal. A plus side to this is that Arisa is immune to all forms of illness.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Because she is under constant "contamination" from her powers Arisa is physically weak and thus limited athletically. Also, her blood and saliva carry the virulent energy and will infect someone if they drink after her or kiss her. She first discovered this one day after she gave her grandmother a kiss on the cheek and became gravely ill and nearly died. It is believed that with practice she can overcome the physical weakness; however her blood and saliva will most likely always remain toxic. Because of this she does not engage in romantic endevors.
Fighting style (if any): None
History of your character: Arisa Deveaux was born into a wealthy family, the daughter of Monique a fashion model and Alexander, the well known attorney. Both parents lavished their daughter so that she would want for nothing, never having to deal with poverty in any form as they had when they were children. Arisa excelled in school as a straight A student and was even allowed to skip a grade. However her nearly perfect life changed one evening when their house in Chicago was broken into by a man her father had put behind bars years ago. He was a high profile sex offender and murderer who was supposed to be behind bars for life but had somehow managed to escape from prison. He tied Arisa's mother and father up and bound Arisa hands above her head after which, the man began to rape her. It was at this moment that her powers decided to fully manifest. She screamed and her eyes went pitch black, dark mist rose from her body like smoke and began to fill the room. Because she was in the throes of terror she didn't see what was accruing around her. The black mist seeped into the body of her assailant causing him to go into violent convulsion, pain, and other nastiness before finally dying. The sad and unfortunate side to this is that her parents also suffered the effects of her powers.
Finally after what felt like an eternity of screaming she looked about the room to find the man and her parents were dead. Panic began to set in and as her stress level began to rise the black mist appeared again. Frantic she tried to pull herself free of her bonds. As she stood she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and stared in horror at the image the looked back at her. She began to scream her stress level reaching its peak and the room filling with the strange and deadly mist. As she continued to panic and more and more of the mist manifested she became very weak, and finally lost consciousness. It wasn't until several days later the she woke up in the hospital and was informed that her family had been killed. Agents from the FBI came and spoke to her intent on learning what had really occurred. They told Arisa that the assailant had killed them with what could only be described as so new fast acting virus that attacked the nervous system. Arisa listened to everything they had to say and after she told them everything she knew, save that it had actually be her that had caused it, she slipped into deep depression.
When she was released from the hospital she was released into the care of her grandmother Agnes Deveaux who took her to live with her in New York City. Arisa kept the fact that she was a mutant from her grandmother and as depression and anger set in the old Arisa was replaced with a new cold and distant personality. Never again would she hurt someone that she loved. She began to practice meditation in order to keep her mood in check as well as venting her pain and aggravation into her writing from which came a New York Times best selling horror novel about a girl who would unconsciously murder people with toxins. However to retain some anonymity she wrote under the pin name of Daliah Black.
Shortly after moving to New York she learned about the Xavier institute for gifted youngsters. It is her hope that she will be able to find answers and help there in order to get her abilities under control so no one ever has to from her dark power ever again. After speaking to someone at the main school she was referred to a sister school and a woman named Tricity. Here's hoping someone can help her find her place in the world.
Sample RP: (I am not all together sure what exactly to put but I hope this works)
The hour was late as Arisa walked slowly through the dark of Central Park. She knew it was probably not a good idea to be walking through Central Park in the dead of night but her mind wouldn't allow her to sleep. She shuddered slightly as an autumn wind blustered around her sending her long raven hair in a dark spray about her head. She pulled her black hoodie tighter around her neck in a failed attempt to keep warm, she was always cold anymore to tell the truth. She found a park bench and lowered herself and just stared out into the dark between the trees. Why is this happening to me, she thought solemnly, I never wanted to hurt anybody or anything. Yet I carry the capacity to kill everyone I come into contact with inside of me. Why? She sigh heavily and shook her head, these thoughts were the same ones the plagued her mind day after day. Plague…she though dryly, that's an appropriate word for what I am…a plague. At that moment she heard a click and something cold and metallic was being pressed to the side of her head. A man, who looked like he might have been around her age was staring at her with nothing but hatred in his eye. "Gimme all the money you got sweet heart, or I put a bullet in that pretty face of yours." A strange and dark smirk crept slowly across Arisa face and slowly she stood to turn and face the man.
"I have something for you though I doubt you want it."
"What the h*** are you babbling about! Just gimme yer F***ING money!" He shook the gun as he yelled a mix a rage and fear mingled in his eyes. She frowned and looked down at the ground. "I warned you" she said in an icy tone. She looked up and from the reaction on the mans face she guessed she had managed to summon up her power. He stammered incoherently for a moment before putting his hand on the trigger, but before he could squeeze Arisa raised her left hand to her lips and blew him a kiss. Black mist wafted from the palm of her hand as though she had blown a fine powder from it. It contacted the man's face and the results were near instantaneous. His skin went sallow and pale, black spider veins appeared as the sickness spread through him moving down toward his throat. His breathing became strained and raspy and he coughed uncontrollable. Arisa flipped open her cell phone and dialed 911, in a slow cool voice she said, "send an ambulance to Central Park South near Scholars Gate, there's a man on the ground and he might be hurt, hurry…" She snaps her phone shut and smiles a bit grimly. "I told you, you didn't want it." And with that she turns on her heals and walks off into the dark.
