The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smiled as he heard Neena yawning, thinking she must have been asleep. “Sorry to wake you but I have a question, and I hope you could answer it.”
Sam waited for a second then said “simulations off.” After he spoke the environment around him changed completely, it went from a doused building that was partially covered in ice to nothing. Sam sat down on the ground looking up to the ceiling where he was sure Neena was at.

Sam yawned as he walked into the room. “Yea I am feeling a lot better, thank you. I was wondering what does it take to be an X-Man?” Sam’s voice went from calm to a little nervous when he asked this question; he wasn’t sure how she would respond. Plus if she wanted info on his history, he wasn’t to sure he would be able to say anything, because he doesn’t want be kicked out from the things he once had done.
”Good, good.” She stood up and turned her chair backwards, leaning on the back. Like usual, she pushed her glasses into her hair, and smiled. ”So what’s up?”
”I was wondering what does it take to be an X-Man?”
She tilted to one side. ”X-man? Where’d’ya hear ‘bout them?”
The question could easily have been taken as an honest inquiry, or a suspicious avoidance. But trying to figure out which from her tone would be nigh impossible.

Sam paused for a second taken aback by Neena’s response to his question, “I heard a few of the older students talking about it.” He then paused his face got a little red from embarrassment, “if it supposed to be a secret, I didn’t mean to over here it.” Sam then shifted his weight a little think about what to say next. “If it isn’t really up for discussion, because I don’t fit the title, that’s fine. I was just curious about what it takes to be one.”
“I heard a few of the older students talking about it.”
Neena held back a smile, but Sam's expression and blush tickled her. She saw that look often in people who didn't know her eccentricities very well.
“if it supposed to be a secret, I didn’t mean to over here it.”
Her mouth cracked, just a bit, hinting at that smile. Secrets? In the Mansion? What secrets there were didn't remain so very long.
“If it isn’t really up for discussion, because I don’t fit the title, that’s fine. I was just curious about what it takes to be one.”
She tilted her head back, and replied in the same tone as her first question. "What it takes to be an Xman? Hmm. Well, I guess that would depend on what your idea of an Xman is? What are they supposed to do?"
She fully expected her questions to unnerve Sam, and she wouldn't have been surprised if he even dropped the subject. But she did have reasons behind her questions, mainly to assess his ideals. There was quite a bit of controversy over the Xmen and their function, after all.

Sam hesitated before he spoke, Neena was testing him, he knew she was, her response would be determined on how Sam would answer. “Hmmm, well from what I heard about the X-Men the help everyone using their powers…” Sam paused to find the words he was somewhat looking for, “Well my opinion, the X-men are around to help and protect those who can’t protect themselves. They have power and instead of using it for there own gain they make the hard decision and help those who can’t help themselves.” Sam smiled he replayed his response back in his head he was proud with his answer. He looked to Neena to see her response then he said, “that the answer you were looking for?”

Sam seemed pleased with his answer. But then he asked, "That the answer you were looking for?”
She blinked. "I'm not looking for any specific answer. I want to know what you feel."
She still gave no hint as to her true feelings. But she was glad to hear a positive opinion for once.
She leaned her chin on the chair. "How do you feel about humanity, Sam?"

"How do you feel about humanity, Sam?"
What kind of question was that? How did he feel about it? “Humanity is just going threw a tough time right now in my opinion, they fear what they don’t understand.” Sam once again was trying to find the right words to answer her, “I consider mutants apart of the human race but,” he drew an imaginary line that forked then kept ad had both lines go in the same direction, “we are different, not better, just different, we are both going for the same goal, but I don’t really know what that goal is.”
Once again he was thinking on how his answer sounded, Neena was really testing him on this these were tough questions. He then shifted his weight looking at his hands, “I have seen the atrocities that some humans have done, but I don’t feel like humanity should be lowered because of these monsters, but I have seen things that makes my cold heart thaw, for every evil human I have meet I have met a hundred good people.” Sam pulled his hands up and clenched his fist by his heart for emphasis. Sam blushed for being so emotional about the question. He looked back up at Neena for her to respond.
Neena heard his words, but most of her focus lay in watching his reactions and expressions while he answered. He certainly seemed to wear his emotions on his sleeve, so to speak. Either that, or he was a good actor. Which was also entirely possible, she supposed.
He blushed when he finished speaking, which finally pulled out that hidden smile. She simply did not understand embarrassment.
"You sure do blush a lot," she teased, and reached out to ruffle his spiky hair. "Take it easy, m'friend, this isn't a test. I just want to hear your opinions is all."
She shifted her position in the chair, pulling her knees up and leaning her head back to look at him upside down. The chair tipped, threatening to spill her, but she didn't flinch.
"A lot of the kids think being an Xman is like being Superman. Fly out, get the bad guy, save the world and get the girl. Or guy," she smirked. "I just was curious what your idea of it all is. As for joining...." Her words trailed off and she smiled. "It takes time and effort, and we've got to see exactly what you're capable of. I'd say that's a good start though."
She motioned toward the ended simulation. She was a bit concerned about his berserk-mode, just like she was about Emerald.

Sam didn’t really know what to say when she ruffled his hair, he kind of felt like she was treating him like a 5 year old. He wasn’t a big fan of being treated like a kid, he didn’t have time to be a kid so why would he want to be one now?
"A lot of the kids think being an X-man is like being Superman.
Jokingly Sam smiled and said, “I don’t think I could pull off the superman look, I wouldn’t look to good in tights, the cape might be a good look for me though.” He wanted to be X-Men for some reason maybe it was atonement for all the crimes and murders he committed in the past.
He looked at the clock, “Neena I have all the time in the world, and effort I got way to much of that. So when do think you can see what I am made of? Kind of eager to get this started.” Sam finished smiling and stretching his arms behind his back.
“I don’t think I could pull off the superman look, I wouldn’t look to good in tights, the cape might be a good look for me though.”
"Capes are nice. I dunno. I'm not a big fan of men in tights. Doesn't leave much to the imagination, ya know?"
Neena shrugged a bit, still looking at him upside down. She smiled again, seemingly oblivious to her own bluntness.
“Neena I have all the time in the world, and effort I got way to much of that. So when do think you can see what I am made of? Kind of eager to get this started.”
"Well, let's see....." She righted herself and reached for her phone, to check the time. Afternoon class would start in just over an hour. That left enough time for the power check, at the very least.
"All right then, let's check out that frostbite a bit closer." She stood and offered him a hand up.
She noticed he seemed just a bit unsettled still. She wondered if his remarks earlier had some special significance, perhaps from his past? Or perhaps, despite what he claimed, he was still smarting over Lee? Idly she wondered if he was considering joining the Xmen in an effort to win her over again. It wouldn't be unheard of.

"All right then, let's check out that frostbite a bit closer." She stood and offered him a hand up.
Sam takes Neena’s had and pulls him self up, “so what do you want to check out about it, see how cold I can get? Or see what I can do with it?” Sam smiled after saying this because he was very creative with his powers and that was one fact he was very proud of.
“so what do you want to check out about it, see how cold I can get? Or see what I can do with it?”
"All of the above. Power gauge Scenario, Ice Mode, with obstacles." Neena preceded him back down to the practice room. Machinery whirred softly, and the floor began to shift, forming a slightly hilly landscape around them. The walls opened to reveal several platforms, tilted at odd angles. The holograms kicked in, and turned the area into an icy playground.
"Forgive my eccentricities, I like lively and unusual training exercises." she announced to Sam, with an impish grin that seemed out of place, considering the plainness of the frozen scenery.
"Since you mentioned making things cold, the walls and floors have temperature sensors," she explained. "Make the place as frigid as possible. As for what else you can do, the little waiters will check that."
Behind her, roughly thirty creatures began appearing all over the place. All dressed in black and white, and each one holding a margarita glass, Neena's nickname for the penguins became quickly obvious.
"One of those margaritas is a ticking time bomb. You've got three minutes to find the right glass. And, of course there's a catch. Well, two actually. Once, for each penguin that 'dies'," she made 'quote, unquote' motions with her hands, "you lose a point. And two?"
She snapped her fingers. One of the penguins sniffed, and inhaled.
"Ah! Aaah! Aaahh-CHOO!!!!" The sneeze ended in a burst of flame. The penguin rubbed its beak and squeaked, "Excuse me."

Sam’s jaw dropped to Neena’s cool demeanor, “I have a few questions to be honest, the first of witch, how cold can those penguins go to? The next is there any way to stop the margarita bombs? And my last one is there any way to identify the fakes from the real bomb? And my last one, how on earth did you come up with this?” Sam looked around and couldn’t believe that anyone could come up with this, “I though I had an imagination.”
While he was asking all these questions Sam had run a few different scenarios in his head, some of them didn’t seem to bad, but at one point he would feel the flame, other than the flames Sam didn’t see much of a problem, he could just grab all the drinks and then it would be over, right? Depending on how she answers those questions, that’s how he would choose the best way to do it. Unless there was something that Neena wasn’t telling him.
