The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura has used her contacts to find some help for this one. It always paid to have people to watch your back and she knew what she had planned could well be dangerous. Mystics were dangerous or they could be Aura forcibly mentally corrected herself. She hoped she was wrong about the place. Her evidence was all second and but reports said the place was home a Mystic group that had been using Humans as slave laber through mental domination. Aura had been a hair from called the Snowman to take this mission as she knew all to well the pain of being mentally controlled and did not entirely trust herself not to just slaughter them if they were guilty.
She waited behind the Dojo which was surrounded by high walls on two sides and a bend made it relatively private. She still had a good half hour to wait, so she sat down and scratched the ears of the black and white animal curled up in her hands who peeked it's head up at the contact. The skunk was still young but did seem as calm as Solkat had in her lifetime.
She had requested three others but the third had not been located still she figured the two would be enough with her. It was overkill if the Mystics were not doing what she feared. She smiled raising her hand up and letting her aura flow from her fingertips untill it formed a foot long thin blade which she almost playfully swiped with her free hand at an old punching bag cutting the bottom half of the bag loose though little sand was left in the device. She took a deep breath and reminded herself to stay calm and try real hard not to kill anyone here.
She looked up as thought she heard a noise coming from one of the openings and wondered if someone had arrived. Gnag members tended to move in groups due to the ambushes she had performed so often in the past, so one oe two people genrelly meant safty unless it was a cop, then things would get wierd quickly.

I really need to get a motorcycle…
Sure, Ryde was cheap but to call it convenient…well, the music sucked, the driver had road rage, and Cesca didn't want to know what that smell was. Though she was sure it had something to do with the old fast food bags scattered around the floorboard. "Just drop me off here is fine."
"But it's still three blocks–"
"It's fine, I'll still pay full price. Need to stretch my legs anyway." With that, she abruptly exited the vehicle and began walking. She was dressed a little more comfortably for the occasion: Hair tied back in a ponytail, Black flannel left unbuttoned to show off a black tank top, over a pair of black jeans and capped off by her black combat boots. She was still sporting a black eye after an event a few nights ago in a bar.
Some jerk had tried hitting on her, and when he wouldn't stop, she used her toxic power to dispatch him, only to realize that he had friends. However, someone had proven herself a valuable ally and they came out of the brawl on top together, and it was this very person who had called Cesca here.
Aura had done Cesca a solid, and she was one to repay her debts. As she turned the corner into the alley behind the dojo, she accidentally kicked a beer bottle that smacked against the wall. Hands stuffed in her jeans pockets, her yellow eyes scanned the alley. She gave a friendly wave in greeting. "Just me," she announced, deciding to just pretend the awkward "Ryde" over never happened.

Eisenhower, the daunting youth, laid atop a semi headed in the direction of a nondescript dojo placed in a pocket of NYC that he used to frequent on his Graffiti trips. He stared face-up at the light-polluted residential and commercial buildings, allowing the wind to flow on top of him like a river of diesel tinged air.
As soon as he had stuck his head back into the underground scene, his codename "Pause" as a mercenary of sorts who was willing to take on any tasks for the fun of it -- bonus points if it came with a cash reward, offers began to show up real quickly. Especially with these Well-drinker fanatic showing up out of the sewage system like magic-infused rats, he was all riled up to dispatch some power-thirsty humans.
Upon arriving at the dojo's street front, Eisen traipsed across the air, as he balanced on nothing other than his black Adidas, spatially locking them into place with each step. He came equipped tonight with his trusty, retractable bowstaff, and three spray canisters. One of a corrosive nature, one of a sticky black tar, and the third of his premium acrylic black spraypaint. Each attached to a fancy sling that strapped across his torso.
His outfit was entirely fitting of a home-designed ninja, from his black sweater to his non-striped adidas slacks, and his signature black fingerless gloves. He also sported a breathable ski mask should he deem it necessary to hide his identity.
Upon walking above the scene he noticed two gorgeous women and a seemingly white-striped cat-looking thing at the location pre-determined by his contact. Before approaching, he descended to the ground, and listening to a break in their conversation before he interrupted. Sounded like introductions were being made.
Once he felt it safe to do so, he entered the alleyway with palms up, ginger locks and charmed smile out, to greet his beautiful co-assailants.
"The name's Pause." He then took a brief bow of the head to signify respect. "Get in, get it done, get out. No questions asked."
He then looked them both in the eyes. The two beauties, one with the huge blade and pet animal, and the other also in a striking, night-op outfit. "Unless... we have the time?"
Aura turned as she heard the noise a thin layer of aura wrapping around her from behind her until she heard the voice and saw the face. She recalled the girl from the other night she had stepped in to help with the fight but only after she had witnessed the mutant power. Aura may have been trying very hard not to kill humans anymore but saving them was still a 50/50 thing for her. She let the aura around her body fade keeping the blade however just in case. "Welcome my beautiful friend." she said with a smile.
Aura was about to offer Cesca a compliment when the third member of their group showed up. Aura aimed the blade at the newcomer until he spoke and she lowered it. "We are together a few minutes early" she admitted liking that the two were ahead on time. It spoke to their professionalness on the battlefield.
Aura let the blade shrink looking like it was getting sucked into her index finger. She was showing off a bit but running a hand down the skunks head down the body two the tail she looked at the creature for a long time she ahd simply thought was a cat. Well it;s parent anyway. Aura tried a door handle and when it was locked pointed her index finger at it and let her Aura flow into the key slot, she then expanded her Aura crushing and forcing the lock out of place forcing it open. and gently set the skunk down and closed the door. "Im sure the owner wont mind" she joked noting she had to call a repair guy in the morning.
"Either of you dance..i mean fight a mystic before or know much on them? I know them better then i would like" she asked unsure of their skill skill sets. It seemed like most of Auras recent fights had been against Mystics, she just wished her powers blocked their magic better. Still it was as it was and their was no point worrying. "Our targets about 3 blocks away, a research building, this late staff should be gone, just a few guards. My sources have told me their trying to improve a mind control headband they have been using" she said not going to far in her explanation in case their were questions.

“Beautiful?” Cesca repeated with a smile as she leaned against the wall. “Oh, you sweetheart,” she practically purred; she would have continued flirting, but it seemed their third crew member had showed up right behind her, and it was time to get down to business. “You can call me Miasma,” she said, toying with the appropriate codename. She normally didn’t use one, but all things considered, maybe it was time to change things up a bit.
She listened, then shook her head honestly. “Haven’t dealt with any personally; new in town. But I’ve heard and done my research. I’m skilled enough in this type of job, the addition of magic just gives a new flavor to it, is all,” Cesca commented thoughtfully as she pulled a crimson handled switchblade out of her pocket and sort of idly toyed with it.
“Okay, sounds straightforward enough so far,” she replied. “So what’s our best bet in? Go in at the same time, guns blazing, or each go in from a different angle and meet in the middle?” The young woman thought for a moment. “From what I’ve gathered on mystics, splitting up may be a bad idea.” She flicked open the blade, twirling it between her fingers as she thought.

As the two women unsheathed their weapons, both displaying their prowess and signaling their proficiency. He decided to play along as well.
“Get them before they can snap their fingers, and we should be set.” Eisen reached back to grab the base of his bow-staff and pulled it out, a weapon unlike their two blades.
He pressed a hidden switch on its hilt and it extended in a swift and almost silent motion, a nice soft chhhhk, the signal that it had extended as far as it could. One end was equipped with a built in taser, and the other end could dispatch a two meter, retractable cord, chain should he require the extra length. The entire mechanism was colored a sleek obsidian.
He maneuvered the bowstaff behind his back and raised it up slightly above his hips. Then he hoisted himself up onto the staff, almost as if it were a broomstick and he were a genderbent witch perched upon it, both palms grabbing so he could lock it in the air with his ability.
Eisen also remembered that he came equipped with comms, a nifty addition to his tool-belt’s arsenal since he never knew when reconnaissance would be needed.
“Up to you all. I have a four way comms system, black earpieces. Recon and containment are my forte. I can spatially lock anything solid in place, as long as I’m physically connected to it. Give me time to find a good setup spot, and I can lockdown the facility in no time. Then you two can go ham.” He smirked as he held out his hands, offering them each an earpiece.
Pause seemed unfazed by the Mystics and he gave the impression he knew of them, Miasma gave an affirmative as well. Auras recent encounters with them had been anything but good, but in both cases she had been in prolonged combat and it had been a long fall from that train. Aura respected the Witch bloods talents even if she did not care for the ones she had met. While their had to be a few good ones out there, their targets tonight were not. Like mutants they seemed to channel magic in various ways and she ha don't nailed all those down yet or even if their was a limit.
"I have fought them in both ranged and close in combat. They can be tough and my powers seems to have less effect against them. So i to would like to stay together. Police response time if their called is just under six minutes" Aura said as she looked between the two. The the weight of what pause had just said hit Aura. "You can lock down entire buildings? That may be the best route then. It seems the tales of your abilities do you no justice my new friend" she said looking at Pause. "And you can defend yourself while doing it?" she asked looking at the bow staff. She took the earpiece with an impressed nod putting it on.
"we got three blocks to the place, i know a side entrance, we are looking for several mutant children who have gone missing in the area" she explained as she waived for them to follow as they talked. She had seen more then one of their kind robbed of their birthright. She hoped to prevent it here as well though she did not grasp how they did it. The sun was low and their were still some people on the street but none who seemed to want anything to do with them or anyone not in their circle.
Cesca listened intently, mentally taking notes as she prepared for the upcoming mission. "I don't know what kind of effect my power will have on them, but when push comes to shove I guess we'll find out." Her left hand idly toyed with the switchblade as she thought about her next words, and decided that for the sake of the job, it was best she left all her cards on the table for her two teammates to see.
"I have a background in things like this; I'm from a now defunct crime family in Chicago. My specialty is interrogation, due to my mutation, but I've also been known to pull off a successful infiltration, and when need be I can handle myself in a fight. As for my power, I can produce a toxic gas that can have a number of nasty effects on a person," she explained. She had to admit, saving children was far more noble than the type of job she was used to, but she was definitely in it for the long haul. Besides, there were some lines even Cesca Galloway wouldn't cross, and harming children was one of them.
"Sounds like a plan then." she said with a smile, her yellow eyes glancing from Aura to Pause as she walked, slightly behind Aura, and just a little to the right.
