The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”You did good, kid.” Shin said.
With a sweep of his hand, he repurposed the indecency prevention shards into a Porygon construct. He patted the side and told X to hop on while he talked with the cops. Hop on while he got his cop on... or x-cop, as it were. Ex-X-cop. Yeah. Hop on. Then, he went to speak with the authorities.
The conversation was brief. Shin gave them the rundown of what he figured had happened. Someone they already had in their custody must had made something days ago, and it had pupated! Into a giant moth! It must’ve had a larval form or something. Large larval form. A Largevae. Instead Of larvae, do you get it?
The cops had not liked his rampant puns when he’d been working for them. They didn’t much like them when he wasn’t working for them, now. They told him they would speak to Morty, and get to the bottom of this.
Shin returned to X a minute later.
”So, yeeeeah. I’m gonna take you back to the mansion now and we’re gonna get you some pants and stuff. And maybe I’ll talk with my wife and see if we can’t design you a replacement costume some time.” He smiled warmly. ”Unless you’ve already got a spare or two, that is. Heck. Even if you do. A Shinbi original.”
Shin was in a good mood now, because they’d killed a Mothra. And X had been restrained and hadn’t flashed the cops his stuff in his excitement! He could extend a bit of friendly superhero courtesy to the kid and help him out.
”Maybe no capes though.” He added, after a second’s thought.
Shin hopped on Porygon and took them back to the mansion.
He said it. He said he'd done good. Xavier's face turned red as he was complimented by one of his Idols. He smiled widely as he was invited to hop on the porygon. Was all of his real? He pinched himself. Yup. No dreaming. Something this cool was really happening to him.
He climbed onto the construct, and just sorta... sat there, soaking in the moment. Cops were everywhere, just a little bit late. They were taking statements from anyone who would give them, but it looked like they were giving him space. That was good; he didn't want to talk to cops naked, it wasn't a good look.
Mr.S Came back, and he shifted to turn his attention to him. His face lit up when Shin mentioned Healey making him a costume. "Woah! I mean, I have lots of spares, but I'd love one from from your wife! I heard she made all of the Gen2 costumes!" He restrained himself from doing a dance under his little coat. He paused when Shin mentioned no capes.
"Huh... Why no capes?" He liked capes! He could billow them with his power, and it looked really heroic!
On the ride to the Mansion he stayed mostly silent. This was all unreal. It felt like one wrong statement or off moment would cause this perfect situation to crumble. Still, he had to know. "What's it like... being a hero?"

He had spares, but he’d love another. Cool, cool. They could do that. He didn’t get the costume no capes thing, though.
”Capes are dangerous.” He said. ”There was this whole thing in a movie. Capes get caught in doors, catch the wind and yank you off whatever you’re riding or flying on. Get sucked into jet liner engines. And enemies can grab your cape and whip you around with it or choke you. No capes!” he wagged a finger.
It honestly was a wonder they hadn’t lost X, flying to the Mothra site. Just watched him fly over the edge and flutter down to the ground.
They flew back to the mansion, and X was restrained. Maybe he’d learned restraint. Or maybe he was tired from exploding his pants.
Then he asked a weird question. What was it like being a hero?
Shin did not look back at him. ”Lot of ways to respond to that.” he said carefully. ”Could say ‘ask yourself the same question.’ Could say I’m not a hero. Could say I am. But really, being a hero kind of loses something if you start considering yourself a hero. That’s a label other people give you when you do good. So really, do good kid. Don’t worry so much about labels, ok?”
