The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well yeah of course it mutual, they've been going out for like a year and a half or something. I'm pretty sure I told you this before right?" With all the various ways they had been chatting over the past few months there wasn't no chance she had forgotten to mention it. Clearly Serena just hadn't been paying attention when she had or something.
Alice seriously considered talking about one of the ideas she'd had for a while but in one of her smarter moments she decided to wait until Serena had settled back into the city a bit before offer to try to get her mum to meet her. Even if it was to just talk about aunt Elizabeth, she was sure it'd be good for them both. Mum would get a bit of closure over a past mistake, as well as actually meeting her sisters child and Serena might learn a little about her own mum.
"Christ sis, message received, I have a ninja on speed dial. Although I'll be honest, I would really want to see the look on her face if you did ever need to do something about her." Taking the witch down a peg or two was always good but if it came from someone who, with as much love as Alice could muster, did not look threatening at all. It was like imagining a kitten suddenly tearing someone to pieces, the idea just didn't match up to what could be seen. Still, Alice knew Serena could fight with some of the talks they'd had, so maybe it would look really awesome.
She wasn't naturally a hugger, or a person to really display much affection in public at all but Serena was a special case. Family tended to break rules anyway so it was easy to admit, "Not from you. Well, at least not yet," she finished with a short laugh.
"I've not really had much family, outside of just mum," and it had been a long time she she'd shared any close connection to anyone at all. Life had pushed her and her mother apart, for many reasons and sure, they were close, but not like this and not anymore. "Just don't disappear again, at least for a while."
A snort of laughter escaped her lips at that. They probably both looked pretty worse for wear and Alice was not a pretty crier when it happened. "I'm not even going to check, I'm sure we make a pretty pair at the moment."
Standing quickly she nodded agreement. "In that case I hope you're hungry, there's some really good ingredients I've been wanting to use and now seems a really good time." Pausing for a second she formulated a fairly quick to make meal before continuing with, "just don't plan on it being healthy. Been wanting to try out some mug cake's for a while."

Serena smirked. She had most definitely not heard about Mirror and Rebecca, she felt some serious internal flailing now, and she was heavily distracted by little sister huggles, so the squeeing was mostly internal. "If I'd heard of it, you would have been deafened by some high pitched flailing on the other side of the mic. Trust me, you'd remember." She replied with a wink. It was so exciting! They were both so lovely.
"Good. I'm not letting anyone take you away without your explicit consent, ever." Her voice had taken a slightly harder edge. She wasn't losing family, never again. Even if that meant she had to maim people to protect her sister, that was happening.
She cracked another wide grin. Serena smiled a lot, she never got tired of it either. Apparently they were visually appealing smiles, she chalked it down to an absurd amount of practice. "Good. Let me know if they do. I can't promise I'll tone them all the way down, but I'll try. You're just so huggable."
Serena nodded. "I get it. Trust me. It was just me and Jake for what felt like forever. You would have liked him." She commented thoughtfully before thinking. "Well. Actually he would have driven you crazy, he was a very disciplined police officer, but I think you would have loved him. He's maybe the most caring honest person I ever met." She swayed a little from where she was now standing, smiling happily at memories.
"I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me sweetheart." She replied, playfully nudging her little sister's arm.
"You look as beautiful as always. Blue really suits you." She chirped thoughtfully. The tear streaked makeup kind worked. "Actually fits your gay goth gamer aesthetic really well~"
She chuckled. "I could definitely eat. I need to get the hang of making sure I'm balancing my blood sugar if I'm going to start donating regularly again." She'd done a bit here and there while she travelled, but hadn't had all that much time.
She grinned stretching out a little, limbering up her body. Plain and taxi were not very good for muscles, they felt stiff. She should really go for a run soon. More so if Alice was about to feed her unhealthy food stuffs. She should come for a jog around the mansion... Maybe after she'd spoken to some of the people around here that she wanted to. Give it a little time and all that.

Well then, apparently Alice had omitted a very important detail for Serena. Whoops. "Well, erm sorry then? Mustn't have thought it was that important, plus I didn't know you and them were acquainted." No harm no foul in this case but she got the idea that maybe mention things that might be important to other people was a good idea.
"Serena, calm down. I'm fine and no one is going to take me anywhere." It was, well a bit scary seeing a side to her sweet sister she didn't know existed. Some people didn't put across a hardness but clearly there was an element of it to the woman with the steel in her voice. "Just, be careful. They might be worth a lot in the revenge department but that kind of money buys a lot. We need to play it smart if anything happens."
"I am all sharp angles and bones Serena. I am most definitely not huggable. But thanks, I appreciate the thought." Alice always assumed hugging her was akin to hugging a bonzai tree. Didn't look too bad but it was all branches and points just beneath the surface and she didn't have that much padding to work with at the best of times.
It was hard to accept change, but Alice had a sister and it was great. "I'm sure he would have driven me crazy, but I wish I did have a chance to know him a little. I guess f**ked up family politics kind of screwed us both out of a lot." Serena had certainly lost more, losing both parents and her only sibling was an impossible situation to deal with. Alice had just not had it to begin with. Her father never even acknowledged her existence, let alone offered any kind of paternal warmth. "But screw them too, we've got each other."
Damn straight blue suited her. It had become a bit of a defining look for most of her teenage years that going with anything else just didn't fit anymore. "I'll be honest your not even the first person to make the goth connection that I feel like I should just go full black lace and nail polish or switch it up a little. Could always throw on a gaming shirt if that'd help?" Which it probably wouldn't given most of them looked like she'd gotten them at a metal concert. Screaming wolf heads and abstract colossus designs had certain similarities to that sub genre.
"Blood sugar boosting I can do, balancing not so much." Alice's version of counting calories usually ended with how many does it have and will that fill the bar? Certainly made her diet flexible which was awesome, "But don't worry the main won't be too bad, I've learnt some pretty good veggie dishes recently so that should be alright. The mug cakes though, yeah those will be mostly butter and sugar not going to lie."
Gesturing to the door, "After you Serena, need to lock up anyways since a certain kid found out I have so many games can't trust him to not peek in to borrow one while I'm out."

Serena shook her head with another soft smile across her lips. "Don't worry about it, you didn't even know that I was familiar with them. It's my fault for not being around." If she'd stuck around she'd certainly have known about them. She liked to check in at the mansion fairly regularly. Or rather, she used to do that.
She was glad that Alice was pretty calm and at ease in the situation but she always felt like her witch of a grandmother was up to something. Serena actually kept a pretty close eye on her, as much as one could from another continent. She would literally tear down that mansion for her little sister.
"N'awww. You are super huggable! It totally has nothing to do with the fact that you're my younger sister and my brain puts everything you do through a filter." The filter being adorable little sister. She probably would have found Alice adorable and huggable even if she wasn't her younger sister truth be told.
"Oh! That would be fun. You should totally text that to her Ladyship queen of B*****" Whoa. The old hag really did bring some fire out of Serena. It consistently caught her off guard.
She stepped out of the door. "Don't worry, I'm pretty good at regulating my own diet. It's just mostly been protein and vitamins recently, if I'm donating regularly I need sugar too." She giggled. "Well make sure it's locked, and then you can treat me to your fabulous cooking."
With that, the two of them strolled off and she had way way too much to eat, before making her way back to her dusty apartment, of course after she'd given Alice several assurances she wasn't going anywhere, and subsequently entered a food coma until the next morning.
