The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee couldn't help but grin when Blaine agreed that it could be fun. This was good, Lee thought, very good. Not just because it was fun, but because Blaine was loosening up. He had seemed so serious so much of the time when she has first met him that Lee was glad that he was relaxing more with her now. The trust and emotions had already been there for a while between them, but this ability to just relax, be comfortable, and let loose with each other was important too, Lee thought.
And then Blaine said that he'd prefer to go lay down. But the look he directed at her caused a slight flush to cover her cheeks.”That's not what I meant…” Lee said softly, the color still present on her face, though a smile started to appear. ”I'm not going complain, but that isn't what I had been thinking.”
Blaine blushed quite a bit at her words, realizing his mind had gone somewhere hers hadn't exactly... Though she said she wasn't complaining, he couldn't help the embarrassment that suddenly washed over him, and he had an uncharacteristic deer in the headlight expression. "I uh...Well, we can just hang out and talk a bit," he stammered lightly, looking over as he settled back into the couch, his face turning almost as red as Skye's angry hair.
He lay his head back on her shoulder. "My mind used to didn't go there," he murmured, snuggling into her a bit as he let out a sigh. "Though I guess that means I'm getting more used to this, eh?" he gave a weak smile.
Though she had blushed slightly at Blaine’s words, that was nothing compared to the colour that his face turned when she said that wasn’t what she meant. Well, it definitely hadn’t been. Even before that night, they had already gotten further, and more often, than Lee had realistically thought they would. Maybe not as quickly as she had hoped, but sooner and better than she had expected. And while at one point Lee had been used to a certain someone not being able to keep his hands off her, she certainly hadn’t been expecting that from Blaine.
Hearing Blaine stammer, Lee leaned over and gave him a soft kiss. ”Honestly, both options are appealing,” she told him softly once she had pulled back. ”Like I said, I wouldn’t complain, but laying there just talking would be nice too.”
Then Blaine went on, quietly explaining that his mind hadn’t used to go there, and Lee’s eyes slid closed as she felt Blaine snuggling against her. ”You’re getting damn good at it,” Lee whispered, her slight blush still on her cheeks. It wasn’t exactly the answer to what had been asked on Main St, but it was so completely true. ”I just never expected you to want to this much…”
The kiss made his blush die down a little, and he smiled. "Good; though I think you may be corrupting my innocence," he teased lightly, giving her a wink. "I do like the idea of just laying there talking, so I still think we can go lie down," he said after a few moments.
"You know, I never thought I'd want to either. But...there was just something about you. Still is. I can't explain it, but even though I can't feel you there, you make me want to be close to you," he said, smiling softly before taking her hand and leading her to the bedroom. Once there, he merely lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling before continuing to speak.
"I thought I was destined to be alone...but...thanks for proving me wrong."
Lee laughed slightly at Blaine’s words, then shrugged. ”Well, you kind of made it easy to do,” Lee replied with a grin of her own. ”I mean, with how you never seem to wear a shirt, with all those muscles and your tattoos…”
And, though those weren’t exactly the reasons, they certainly didn't hurt. But while Blaine's blush died, Lee's remained on her face as he continued to speak. There was something special about her that made him want the contact with her even though he couldn't actually feel it? With Tarin, it had made sense why he couldn’t keep his hands off her, she knew his history after all. But with Blaine, what was so special about her?
Then Blaine was taking her hand and leading her back to the bedroom, though for a very different reason this time. Laying on the bed, Lee rolled onto her side so she could look at Blaine, one arm cradling her head, a smile on her face. ”No one should have to be completely alone,” Lee said softly as she looked over at Blaine. ”Though, I never expected to find myself with anyone else, so I guess I need to thank you, too.”
He lay on the bed, turning to look at her as well. "I do wear shirts," he argued. "They're just little." He flashed a smile, then added, "Though I didn't do it to pick up women or anything, it's just part of who I am." he gave another shrug as he smiled over at her.
He smiled again. "Yeah, I'm realizing I'm a lot better off now. And I'm sure you would have found someone eventually, I mean someone as sweet and pretty as you probably doesn't have any problem with that. While you saw my mutation as something to work with....most just tend to see it as a handicap." Leaning in, he kissed her on the forehead.
Lee laughed as Blaine argued about how he did wear shirts. ”That may not be why you got the tattoos,” Lee said, reaching a hand out to lightly trace her fingers over said artwork. ”And I know it’s just part of who you are, but they are really nice to look at.”
But Lee blushed slightly as Blaine continued speaking. ”Maybe, but I wasn’t looking for someone,” Lee replied softly. ”I’m really not sure if I ever would have looked for someone. You just happened along and kind of happened. And I’m so glad you did.”
