The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He grinned, snuggling up to her as she spoke. "Yeah, I'm getting used to that. If there was some way of knowing you were there while sleeping, I'd probably feel better about sharing a bed all night," he murmured.
He nodded, hearing she'd been thinking about tonight, and about them. It had been a great night, and they had come a long way in the short time they'd been dating. He leaned in, sort of leaning his head against her shoulder as his large form sort of slouched on the couch next to her.
"I love you," he murmured softly, without even thinking about it. It just sort of...slipped out. It was supposed to have stayed in a thought bubble, but there it was. His breath caught a little, and he just stayed quiet, hoping there wasn't going to be a repeat like that time he'd implied it...
But he really did love her. He had for quite some time now.
Lee nodded when Blaine told her what would likely make it easier for him to be comfortable sleeping next to each other. ”That's something we can work on,” Lee whispered. ”Something we both have to work on.”
And then Blaine was snuggling into her, which caused Lee to smile even more.
And then Lee heard Blaine's voice, just a slight murmur, and the smile slipped off her face as her heart pounded in her chest. He loved her? Even just thinking about those three small words that had come out of Blaine's mouth caused Lee's breath to catch in her throat.
Lee's eyes slid closed as a happy smile slowly started to grow again. But before she could speak, Lee had to swallow the lump that had suddenly appeared in her throat. ”I love you, too,” she finally said, her voice just a whisper.
He nodded still slightly smiling. "We'll get there. I mean...look how far we've come already," he said happily.
But once those three words had escaped, he couldn't take them back. He'd meant them, but he didn't mean to actually say them yet. Wasn't it too soon? And didn't Lee mention the first day that she didn't know if she could ever love again? Did he just ruin everything by saying it like he had when he merely implied it last time?
But his thoughts were soon cut through by the faintest whisper. It was soft and quiet, but he heard it loud and clear, slicing through the noise and chaos in his mind like a chainsaw through an old log. And it made his heart skip a beat as his own breath caught in his throat.
Looking over at her, his expression was so soft it almost melted. He leaned in and gave her a very tender, loving kiss.
Lee couldn’t help but smile when she heard what Blaine said about sleeping next to each other. That was so different than anything else he had ever said about the idea of her being in the same bed as him when he slept. And the fact that he sounded happy as he said it…
After Lee said the words, she turned her head to look at Blaine, smiling when she saw the look on his face. Lee gave Blaine a single nod, and was about to say something, when she saw him leaning in toward her. So instead of speaking, Lee closed her eyes as she felt Blaine’s lips touching hers, returning his kiss.
When he finally pulled back, Lee opened her eyes and smiled up at Blaine. ”I really do,” Lee whispered as she looked into his eyes. ”I love you.”
His heart skipped again, hearing her say it as their eyes locked. He smiled, but didn't know what to say, really there were no words for this. Nothing that could add to what had already been said or done. But hearing her say it back made this moment just...perfect. He pulled her a little closer, kissing her cheek as he closed his eyes in thought.
After a few moments, he nuzzled into her after opening his eyes. "I feel so much better hearing you say it back," he murmured with a smile. "But...I've felt this way for a little while now."
Lee closed her eyes and sighed happily as she felt Blaine’s arms pulling her closer. And even after he spoke, Lee just sat there with her head on Blaine’s shoulder.
”I know you have,” Lee finally whispered. ”I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to give you enough, be enough.”
After another few moments, Lee straightened up so she could look at Blaine. ”It could have been a while for me, too,” she admitted softly. ”I just didn’t realize it until tonight.”
He smiled softly as their eyes met. "You sticking with me and just being there for me like you have was enough," he said quietly, sweetly. And it was true; she'd meant the world to him for awhile now. And there was nothing he wouldn't do for her.
He nodded as she spoke again, though he couldn't help but quirk a brow. "What made tonight so different?" he asked with a smirk.
Blaine seemed convinced that just her being herself, and being there for him was enough, would have been enough. ”I was still worried,” Lee admitted to him as her eyes dropped slightly. ”Would it still be enough a year from now? If you loved me, but, regardless of how much I did like you and care about you, if I couldn’t fall in love with you?”
Lee took a deep breath. That didn’t matter anymore, it wouldn’t matter, though, because Lee did love Blaine. ”Sorry, I probably shouldn’t be dwelling on this anymore,” Lee said, raising her eyes to look at Blaine once again.
And he wanted to know what had made tonight different. What had caused her to realize she was in love with him tonight when she hadn’t before now. Of course he did, but she couldn’t exactly tell him why, could she? Well, technically she could, but would it be worth it? Lee was still sure that Blaine would panic if she told him what had lead to her realization.
”Well, do you think what happened tonight would have happened with just anyone?” Lee ended up asking.
"Well...whether you fully returned the affection or not...it's still the most I've ever had," he explained, smiling lightly as he looked her in the eyes. "So to me, it would have been enough, I think. You're the best I've ever known, after all," he murmured, loving this closeness, taking in the smell of her hair, the sound of her breathing, her voice...
He chuckled. "That....that is true. I mean, I never imagined...." his voice trailed off as he lay his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes for a second. "And now this....tonight really was something special."
Blaine did think that she would have been enough for him, even if it had turned out that she couldn’t fall in love again. Lee couldn’t help the slight blush as Blaine continued. All she had tried to do was show Blaine the same patience that had been given to her while trying to figure out that she could have a normal relationship despite her powers. Just like she had thought Blaine could, or at least close to normal. And it turned out to end up being much more normal than even Lee had thought it could be.
Yeah, what they had done earlier that night...With how Blaine stammered slightly, Lee blushed a touch darker, though she had a happy smile on her face. ”Yeah, I never expected to do something like that, either,” she admitted. ”I never would have planned to do that, but with how you were looking at me…” Lee paused and bit her lip as she looked at Blaine. ”I honestly didn’t think I could wait until we finished work. And it was damn good.”
Smiling as she felt Blaine’s head on her shoulder, Lee rested her head on top of his for a moment. ”This, now, and the fact that you actually fell asleep with me there,” Lee said softly, reaching her hand out for Blaine’s free one. ”There’s been all sorts of special things tonight.”
He smiled as she blushed, moving so he could look at her. Sure, cuddling was nice, but to Blaine, eye contact meant more for obvious reasons. He chuckled lightly as she spoke, and he brushed his hair from his face. "Yeah...I never thought about doing that, but seeing the way you were dressed...and knowing it was for me....well, I couldn't help it," he said with a small blush of his own.
"It really was. Then again...since we met, my life has suddenly been all kinds of special," he whispered, smiling lightly.
Lee grinned when Blaine pointed out at least part of that night had been because of how she had been dressed. And that she'd done it for him. ”You know, I do have others,” Lee said softly, a playful gleam in her eye as she looked at Blaine. ”So I could always try them on one day, see if they get the same reaction.”
But as Blaine continued, the playfulness in Lee's look was replaced with simple happiness. ”I'm glad, I really am,” Lee told Blaine before leaning in for a soft kiss. ”And you've made me happier than I've been in years.”
Blaine chuckled slightly. "Sounds fun. You know....I'm liking this side of you," he commented with an uncharacteristically sly grin plastered on his face. He kissed her back, arms wrapping around her.
"Good...because I'm happy too. For the first time in years...I'm happy. I can't remember the last time I got black out drunk. I don't need to anymore." He smiled softly, pulling closer as he kissed her again.
Lee grinned when she heard Blaine laugh. ”I'm glad you do, because to be honest, I find it fun on occasion,” Lee told him.
Lee's smile dropped slightly as Blaine mentioned how he used to get black out drink before he'd meet her. That was something she had never done, trying to sleep off that kind of hangover likely would not be a good thing for her energy level, but she was able to understand why he would have done it. But Blaine was kissing her again, so Lee just let it go.
When the kiss ended, Lee just snuggled into Blaine's shoulder as they say on the couch for a few moments. ”Do you want to find something to watch?” Lee asked softly a minute. ”Or would you rather go lay down again?”
He chuckled again. "It is kind of fun, isn't it?" he murmured softly. They had only been together maybe two short months, but in just that amount if time, his life had changed drastically. He was a lot less gruff, that was for sure, and even though he could still channel that side when needed, he'd become a lot more of a...teddy bear, in most cases. Even though he couldn't feel, he still liked snuggling, and kissing, and being intimate. It may have just been because Lee enjoyed it so much, but that was still a damn good reason, in his opinion.
After a moment, she spoke, breaking him out of his thoughts. And then he pondered for a moment. "I think I'd rather go lay down again," he said lightly looking at her with another one of those uncharacteristically mischievous looks.
