Gaining a Foothold
Hello boys and girls! After three months of a shiny new and, mostly, attended rift being open, I believe that it is time to start making the push that we’ve all been waiting for – the Syndicate’s advancement into the MRO-verse. Yes, this will be a daunting task, but I firmly believe that all the cogs are in place to start moving forward. Added to this, I really want to get the faction off the ground and since, as much as I would like to single-handedly recruit everyone at once, I know that this will be a somewhat maddening task for me the accomplish, therefore…I have another idea.
THE SYNPOSIS:
Poseidon has already made some great connections with
Hades concerning certain individuals and with
Chrysanthemum Van Hart in regards to real estate. In addition to all this, I have recently completed a solo thread titled
FACT FINDING [SOLO], something which I do suggest prospective members read. Essentially Poseidon sent out a pair of NPCs to gather the MRC’s Most Wanted files, in order to reach out to certain members. It is with this that he hopes to “invite” or at least make certain events occur near people to hopefully pull them into the Syndicate interests.
THE PLAN:
With the information that Poseidon has gather, he is going to make a push into the MRO-verse with a two-pronged attack.
- M-RAIDS: There are still M manufacturers out in New York. Since the Order no longer is producing M, the drug has been less than ideal and, quite frankly, subpar. The first step towards the Syndicate making its make is to replace M with the far superior Ambrosia (AV’s version of the same drug, but cleaner and more potent). Therefore, any current M manufacturers need to be destroyed and remnants of the drug to be washed away. Once that is done, Syndicate warehouses can be set up to produce Ambrosia and slowly start filtering out into the streets.
- BLACKMAIL / REAL ESTATE: Location, Location, Location. It’s time to start carving out some space for the Syndicate to move in. With his eye one various locales throughout the city for warehouses and safe spots, Poseidon has detailed several areas he would like to take hold of. Key locations and people have been presented for individuals to blackmail or coerce into either giving up space or working for the unnamed new boss in town. I leave this to you how you want to handle it.
YOUR ROLE:
With M-Raids and Blackmail / Real Estate plans, I leave it to you, the player to act on them how you will. Either you can have your character receive the mysterious invitation to take part or you can find yourself near a situation as it goes down and decide to participate. M-Raids to be more action orientated so make it fun for yourself and Blackmail threads are designed to allow less action-y players who want to join to partake.
M-Raids and Blackmail can either be done by partnering up with someone who is already a Syndicate member or who wants to join too, or it can be done in solos. Honestly this is just designed to help people join, who don’t want to wait for me to free up space in my schedule to induct you directly. Have fun with these threads. Knock some heads, make some friends, and have fun with tilling the soil for the Syndicate to plant itself.
SPECIAL NOTE: For those such as X-Men or Havenites or SUPER who want to try and stop any M-Raids, play a victim, or just want to participate somehow, please contact either myself or
Charlie Sinclair so we can start a dialogue. Let’s make this fun for everyone.
THE RULES:
Really I’m leaving it to your guy’s imaginations. These locations of places for the M-Raids and people to blackmail or real estate to open up, I’m leaving to your imagination. But, if you want to contact either myself or
Charlie Sinclair to run ideas by, feel free to do so. I’m more than willing to help you guys make this happen. But with that out of the way, I do have some minor rules:
1. No taking over the Syndicate by yourself. Please, this is just for those who want to join, not to try to take over.
2. Keep the mayhem contained. Try to not level an entire city block just to wipe out one person. Let’s have SOME subtlety.
3. Unless you’ve already threaded with Poseidon, you don’t know who’s pulling the strings. Your contact for partaking can either come from a mysterious electronic invitation, it occurs somewhere in your vicinity and you jump in, or a mysterious NPC underling from Poseidon contacts you (think lawyer or trenchcoat wearing person, or a phone call).
4. No one blabs about the Syndicate to the other factions just yet. Let’s get them settled before we start waging a turf war, Lol.
5. Any threads you create: solos, groups, duos, that have to do with this event, post reply to this thread with them so that I can keep them all nicely gathered here.
