The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"That sounds so cool!" Iggy couldn't wait to get his uniform. He wondered what his uniform would look like. Maybe with short sleeves or a kilt or something. That would be cool. Er, hot. Either way, Ignacio was interested in getting a suit.
"Aw, yours are cute, though!" Iggy paused, "Hey, since you're an X-Men Trainee, can I go into the Danger Room? I want to try it out." Hopefully, Aiden would agree to it.

Maybe everything just sounded cool to Iggy. Some people were like that, he supposed.

Nope, this guy was just weird and said weird stuff without thinking or intent. Just random words, chitter chatter and jibber jabber. Something something - oh, Danger Room? If it meant getting out of here, Aiden would agree to a whole lot right now yikes. "If it's open. I don't usually supervise it but I can. But no, I'm not running any of the major programs or turning off the protective functions, even if you can prove you can heal better than me."
Aiden was on his feet almost fast enough to avoid spinning a few snowflakes into the world, but not quite, and then his restlessness (better than freaking out openly, at least) fueled a quick stride toward the door.

So was that a yes? Ignacio took that as a yes. The teenager got up from the couch and quickly followed after Aiden. He was more than happy to be able to enter the Danger Room. Had this been a couple of weeks ago, Ignacio would've been totally apprehensive about using his powers. Now? Now he was more than happy to show off a little bit of Aiden.
"Thank you for doing this," Iggy paused, "does your powers deal with ice or snow?"

Was this a good idea? It wasn't a bad one, necessarily. It didn't really even get into any grey areas, as long as he limited what happened in the danger room. A mansion student who was clearly old enough to make at least part of a decision, and who was interested in potentially trying to join the team. If Iggy proved to be a danger to himself or others, then Aiden could pass that on. On the other hand, if he showed a certain basic maturity, he could mention that as well.
Although at this point... Aiden was mostly trying to think enough that his heart rate settled back down and stopped being weird. It wasn't a long walk from living to danger, but it was far enough to reduce the sheer number of kids wandering past. And enough for silence to fade and be replaced by more talking. At least it was standard annoying questions, not weird annoying questions of weirdness.
"I generate snow when I move, and can break into snow myself. It's a lot more of a headache than it sounds." There was the door. Good. "What about you?" Clearly nothing that came with heat intolerance. While Iggy answered, Aiden tapped in his code and opened the door.
The walk to the danger room was pleasant to say the least. Iggy's mutated eyes looked around the rooms that passed, already knowing the set up of the Mansion. Streams of light that came through the window shone down on Ignacio'a skin. That made him feel even better.

"You do? That's interesting! No wonder you were sitting in the room with the curtains pulled. You must hate Summer, huh?" Ignacio liked learning about other mutant powers.
"Me? Oh, I'm basically an Aztec Sun god. I feed off of the Sun's solar radiation." He answered with a cute shrug. "It comes in handy when I do my seven mile jogs in the afternoon."

"Some days I can't go outside at all without risking heat stroke. Then again, I don't feel cold at all." That had been a weird realization. It wasn't just that he didn't get cold, which would have made sense on its own. Perhaps he'd lost his ability to perceive cold in order to make space for his more recent ability to perceive where all the bits of him were when he went and got himself knocked apart. Except when he was snow that was basically his only sense, so he shouldn't have had to make space.
Mutations did not always make sense. Even the parts that seemed to make sense often had elements that lacked any sort of objective rationale or cohesion.
In this case... "Is it just the light, then, or is heat part as well?" Juliette might be a good training mentor for Iggy if it happened to be the former. If it was the latter, then Aiden would probably work directly with him very, very little. Especially if Iggy had some level of cold intolerance. Which would probably come into play very quickly. Hm.
"Does cold affect you? More than anyone who does have any powers involved, at least?" Clearly not a heat issue even if he didn't use heat. Running seven miles in the afternoon. In the summer. That might very well kill Aiden. In the winter, though... well, if it was snowing, since he outran his own snow. He headed up the stairs to the God Room overlooking the main part of the Danger Room, and called up his preset programs. And dropped the ambient temperature a few degrees, at least to take his edge off until he knew if Iggy could handle cooler weather.
>> "Some days I can't go outside at all without risking heat stroke. Then again, I don't feel cold at all."[/i]
Ignacio knew exactly how Aiden felt. "I hear you, mi amigo de nieve, I cannot stay inside too long or I start to get really, really sick."[/i] Luckily for Ignacio, the worse he's felt was walking up every morning with a slight headache. After a five minutes of being in direct sunlight, he was good as new. He had no intention to see what would happen if he stayed forty-eight hours indoors with no windows. The thought along made him shiver.
>> "Is it just the light, then, or is heat part as well?"
That was a good question that Iggy didn't have the answer to, "light. Solar thermal energy, but light." He didn't understood fully of how his powers worked. All he knew was that being under the Sun made him more powerful than the average human. That, and him shifting into his "Tollan form".
>> "Does cold affect you? More than anyone who does have any powers involved, at least?"
"Hm," another thing that Iggy hadn't thought about. Man, Aiden was asking questions that he was sure that the X-Men Team Leaders would ask before he could be a X-Men Trainee, "it doesn't really affect me. My body temperature is higher than most. I've been that way since birth." Which is why is mother named him Ignacio, meaning "fire".
This school really collected all kinds. "You should probably talk to Juliette at some point. Firefly. Not the same as you, but still. Light has more in common with light than with snow." Especially someone who couldn't even perceive light and dark at the peak activation of his powers. At least Iggy could talk about his powers fairly easily.
... how had Cafas dealt with Aiden all those years ago?
Best not to think about that. Especially with people around. It was easier to ask questions than to answer them, at least. Less thinking and all that, as long as he had some idea of what ought be asked. "If you can tolerate cold without a problem, then, I'm going to cool it off in here a bit more. Let me know if it's too much." It would be really nice to not be overwarm for a while, and outside of his regular training sessions. It wasn't like they were going to be doing much in here. Just a little demo sort of thing. Introduction. With the side benefit of ultimate air conditioning.
On the note of sunlight, though... It wasn't true sunlight, but the Danger Room, in all its near-magical glory, had a tendency to satisfy the passive requirements of most mutations. Aiden actually had a simulation that ought to suit them both, and it only took a few keystrokes to bring it up and engage the program.
Outside of the God Room, the Danger Room's default blankness shimmered into a whole lot of white - white ice, shaded grey and blue with dirt and shadow - under a winter-blue sky. Lots of light, and a temperature setting right around freezing. According to the computer, anyway; this was about the point where Aiden just stopped feeling warmth, and anyway the simulation wasn't in the God Room. "Do you want to go down?"
>> "You should probably talk to Juliette at some point. Firefly. Not the same as you, but still. Light has more in common with light than with snow."
Ignacio gasped dramatically when Aiden brought up Jules. "I know her! We met about two weeks ago! She's really nice!" He liked Juliette a lot. She was so much like him when it came to their mutations. Though, Juliette was more skilled than Ignacio, he still felt relatively similar to her. "She's the one that suggested becoming an X-Men Trainee!"
Now in the God Room, Ignacio looked down at the vast whiteness of the room. He heard stories of how realistic everything was when activated. He turned his attention to Aiden as he began to speak.
"If you can tolerate cold without a problem, then, I'm going to cool it off in here a bit more. Let me know if it's too much."
"Está bien, I should be fine, though."[/color] Ignacio watched as the the Danger Room changed into an arctic paradise on a sunshiny day. This was totally what Ignacio had in mind when he brought up the idea of going to the Danger Room.
"Do you want to go down?"
Aiden didn't have to tell him twice. Iggy was so happy that he took a hand of Aiden's cold wrist and dragged him out of the God room, down the stairs, and into the Danger Room. Once they get there, he let go of poor, antisocial Aiden and raised his hands to the almost-Sun.

Oh, so they'd met. There went Aiden's usefulness, and now this whole thing was just aw-
To his credit, Aiden realized what was going on quickly enough that he didn't make any move to forcibly remove Iggy from his wrist. The lack of desire to hurt was a continual thing, so it wasn't as if he trained for his first reaction to be violent, but this was also clearly just excitement, clueless and h-a-r-m-l-e-s-s so there was absolutely no reason to panic or freak out or do anything other than watch his footing going down the stairs. It wasn't even as if he'd never been dragged down the stairs by someone with more enthusiasm than sense, just... it had been a while. And he barely knew this guy. Kind of a trust failure in comparison to the brother you grew up with, who consistently went out of his way to help and protect -
Aiden's head was still spinning midair when Iggy let him go, but habit and experience were more than enough for his body to react. His bare feet twisted on the ice, flattening against it to increase friction and spreading to correct his balance. It was a quick, graceful sweep, and the flurry of snowflakes in his trail hard to miss.
Breathe.
"What do you think?" Not about the sharp comparison between physical agility and emotional awkwardness, or about how the snowflakes Aiden had kicked up were drifting toward him and bleaching his skin and hair and clothes, washing away the unscarred colour a fleck at a time.
"It's so cool!" No pun intended. Okay, maybe the pun was intended, but it was also true. Ignacio turned around to look at Aiden when he noticed that the X-Men Trainee was turning into snow. Or something like that. Was that normal for him? Iggy had no idea. However, Aiden did explain to him what his mutation was so he had no need to worry.
Ignacio's kaleidoscope eyes started to flood with a bright orange as he started to put his hands together. Just a few inches above his palms, a multicolored balls of light started to appear. Those balls turned into streams that made their way around his body. Orange, yellows, green, pink, and red swirled around Iggy in a magnificent display of light.

And there was the proclamation of 'cool' again. Well, Aiden did ask, and cool was at least kind of in line with the temperature setting.
A holographic glacier had nothing on wrapping oneself in northern lights, though, and Aiden fell entirely still as Iggy wreathed himself in a chaotic shifting rainbow haze. He'd seen auroras while in Alaska, but they wouldn't be visible through the light pollution even if they somehow stretched this far south. Except when a mutant brought them to life in broad daylight.
Ignacio continued to play with the light that was around him before letting it disappear into the cold sky. Because Ignacio's body temperature was higher than normal, he almost looked like steam was raising from his body.
"What are we going to do now?" Ignacio asked, curiously.

Aiden managed to pull his attention away from the rippling light before it faded entirely, but there really wasn't anything to look at other than Iggy. They were on a very large glacier, after all, a mammoth slough of ice pooled and accumulated between buried mountain ranges. Enough ice to resist summer sun for centuries. Really, it had a lot more in common with Sam than it did with him, but it wasn't like he got to be surrounded by falling snow all the time. That would have its own issues; snowflakes didn't exactly play well with electronics or plants or people who weren't especially cold tolerant. Sometimes there was no winning, but that didn't mean that he lost completely. Life was a lot more complicated than that.
Besides, he had bigger things to worry and wonder about. Like answering Iggy's question.
Somehow.
Er.
"I mean, I'm just showing you around a bit. What do you want to do next?" Easy way out. Check.
Iggy shrugged his shoulders and placed his hands saucily on his hips. He studied Aiden for a bit before coming up with an idea. With a happy jump and a clasp of his hands, Iggy started speaking,
"Show me what you can do! I'm interested!" He threw a playful wink at Aiden. "Can you, like, turn yourself into a blizzard or something crazy like that? That would be cool to see." Iggy smiled brightly at Aiden. "Well? Come on, come on!"
