The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Iggy was in the midst of turning a page in his magazine when he caught sight of something moving his peripheral vision. His kaleidoscope irises to see Martha waving at him. With a bright smile, he waved back and took an earbud out of his ear.
"¡Buenos días! ¿Dormiste bien?" The teenager asked, cocking his head to the side. He usually spoke in Spanish in the morning so that he would never lose his connections to his roots. He didn't even notice when he spoke another language to Martha.
".... No habla...." she muttered. "Sprechen ze English, por favor." She muttered and rolled her eyes a little. She sighed and moved her feet off the gurney, moving to sit up. It was still kind of hard for her to do, she was drowsy from the sedative. Ugh. Martha would probably end up sleeping in her car later... If it had been moved from the grounds to the parking lot. Ugh, what a mess. "Anyways... I am sorry I was such an ass last night... Just... my head hurt, ok?"
>> ".... No habla....Sprechen ze English, por favor."
Ignacio shook his head, "Lo seinto, Martha. I usually speak in Spanish in the morning, then slowly slip into English as the day progresses." His Spanish accent was more pronounced in the morning, too.
>> "Anyways... I am sorry I was such an ass last night... Just... my head hurt, ok?"
>> "No need to apologize. I knew I shouldn't have tried to force you to stay," Iggy waved the apology away, "if anyone should be apologizing, it's me."
"I don't understand Spanish, just... redneck English, okay? And maybe a little Romanian... But that is just how it goes... Yeah... Uh... Not gonna talk about my past anymore so I shouldn't have even brought it up. And no, I don't wanna stay here in the mansion, it's too big and there are too many people... I will make a deal with you, kid... I'll sleep in my car in the parking lot. I am fine doing that... Just... don't make me stay here, okay?"
That was one thing about America that irritated Ignacio. Very few people spoke another language other than English. Everywhere else around the world, that was the norm. You spoke two languages, but here? Only English. With a huff, Iggy nodded his head.
"Okay, you do not have to say here in the Mansion. They couldn't force her to stay anyway, she was a full grown adult woman.
Of course, she didn't know what he was thinking with the bilingual thing... After all, she lived in the middle of an isolated group of people. Gypsies were weird. Enough said.
"It's only temporary... I wanna get a camper soon, yanno?"
"A camper? That sounds nice." Ignacio didn't really know what a camper was, but he was sure that it was cool. "Are those like the things that are like RVs?"
"Nothin fancy. I might take it to the backwoods and get me some property someday to make one of those little houses I saw in Ohio. Like, they make these really small houses, you can move them around just like a trailer... I think they are called 'tiny houses' or whatever. It'd be great one day, but from what I understand, they cost a buttload. For now, a pop up camper is good. I mean, It is a lot like a tent and I can put the flaps down to make it warm, get me a space heater for the winter, it will be great."
She actually seemed cheered by the prospect of getting one of those. She knew if she kept saving, she would have one sooner than she thought.
Iggy nodded his head as he listened to Martha explain what she wanted in the future. It was nice and very Martha. "That's pretty sure and straight forward," Ignacio responded, "what do you want to do for work?" Ignacio asked with a tilt of his head.
