The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I don't LIKE to cook. I don't like to clean. I do it because it has to get done, dude." She sighed and pulled away, super crabby at the moment. Her head hurt so bad, it was throbbing. And he was not letting her sleep. Damn it, why couldn't she just go to sleep?! She shot him a glare. "My head hurts, I'm thirsty, tired, and you keep asking me silly questions about stuff I don't wanna talk about because it's stupid!" She moved to sit up... that was a mistake, the room swam. Ugh... A nurse moved to push her back down and started taking vitals.
"Damn it, I don't even wanna be here and you won't let me leave," she was upset. "Why can't I just be left alone, damn it? Always gotta be someone there, I can't get no breathin' room." He would know she wasn't talking about him now. "Someone always gotta be up my ass. 'Martha, get a good gypsy boy. Martha, you need to clean up after your brothers. Martha, that dress ain't gypsy enough. Martha, why you gotta act like you hate being Romnichal when we're better than everyone!' Always harpin' me about somethin'."
Ignacio watched as Martha started coming down on him. All he did in response was smile and listen to her. "That doesn't sound fair! Why can't the boys clean up after themselves?" He asked with a tilt of his head. Ignacio patted his pockets until he found a piece of candy -- chocolate! He happily unwrapped it and popped the delight into his mouth. He moaned as the chocolate melted in his mouth.
"...Are your brothers married?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, "I always wanted to get married and have lots of kids, but when I'm way older. Maybe in ten years, we'll see."
Why wouldn't he let it drop? She stared at him now, because he kept asking question after question. "Stop." She grunted, "I am going to sleep." She rolled so her back was to him and pulled her pillow over her head. Now if they would just let her sleep, that would be great, she thought and let herself relax... That is, if they let her relax.
Ignacio could feel that he was losing his fight with keeping Martha awake so he decided that he would try something else. He stood up from the side of the hospital bed and began to shake her. "Marthaaaa!! You can't go to sleep!!!" Ignacio huffed and started clapping his hands together in her face. That should at least annoy her enough to keep the other mutant awake.
Oh... my god... She rolled to the other side and then tightened the pillow over her ear, giving a muffled, "Go away!" Her head was just throbbing so bad by that point, she just wanted the pain to go away and he wasn't helping with shaking the damn bed and yelling at her to stay awake. She didn't care if she went into a coma. "Let me die if I am gonna die, my head hurts."
"Nooo!" Ignacio clapped louder, "Tell me about your power and I'll stop clappinnng!" The seventeen-year-old even took it far enough to start jumping up and down. He knew that his method was working on the poor nurse at least. "Come on, come on, Martha! The choice is yours!"
"I don't wanna talk, I wanna sleep!" said the muffled voice before she rolled off the bed and stumbled out of the room, fleeing again, this time to look for the ladies room where he was not allowed. Damn it, she thought, but her head hurt so bad. She had to press her hands to the wall to keep her up.
Ignacio gasped dramatically when Martha rolled out of her hospital bed weakly headed for the girl's restroom. Maybe she got sick? Either that or she was planning an escape.
"Nurse! Nurse! I think we have a runner!" Ignacio knew better than to go into the women's restroom and instead waited outside the door, "Martha are you okay?! I don't identify as a female so I can't go in!"
He would hear the click of the lock on the door and a muffled, "Go away." And then she would sit on the floor and lean back against the wall. There, she thought, she would be able to close her eyes and sleep. She sighed and relaxed, closing her eyes and letting herself drift for whatever amount of time she would have before they figure out the door was locked and they would need to unlock it.
The nurse rushed over, grabbing the key from her pocket to unlock the bathroom door to the ladies room. Once the door was unlocked. The woman entered the rest room.
"Miss, I can't allow you to sleep." She explained with a sigh. "You could suffer brain damage."
"I don't care, oh my god, my head hurts. I just want it to stop hurting." She didn't get up, she just cradled her head in her hands and started blubbering.
The nurse knew that she wouldn't be able to reason with Martha so she had another one come and sedate her while she was cradling her head. Once Martha was out, she brought her back to the bed and woke her up. The nurses and Iggy didn't want anything bad to happen to her while she was there. In the morning, she was more than welcome to leave.
Did they have to sedate her? Now she felt really loopy and was escorted back to the bed. Lucky for her, though, the DocProf showed up and did his thing, though she requested he didn't do too much, just take away the pain and let her sleep. He took care of the concussion, and then she was wide awake. Well, then.
And then there was Iggy, who had annoyed the crap out of her, but he did it because he cared. She felt horrible for yelling at the kid. If he hadn't left, she would wave him over and then tell him she was sorry for being an asshole.
DocProf had asked Ignacio to head to bed an hour after curfew. The latter was reclutant to leave, but he that he needed his beauty sleep (even though he didn't need it).
--- 6:00 am ---
Like every other morning, Ignacio rose up from his bed and headed to brush his teeth and wash his face. Afterwards, he put on a tank and gray running shorts and headed to the infirmary to see how Martha was doing. He was happy when he saw that she was still peacefully sleeping. Grabbing a seat, Iggy sat down, put in his earbuds, turned on his Latin rap, and flipped through a men's fashion magazine.
She was knocked the heck out... She woke up and looked up at the ceiling groggily after that medicine that had sedated her. Her eyes shifted toward the faint sound of music, she gave a sigh when she saw Iggy sitting there despite the fact she had been a total jerk to him the prior night. Martha waved her hand at him to get his attention.
