The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This. Day. Would. Never. End.
The clock on the wall was moving forward, she confirmed, but nothing seemed to be happening.
Raine tapped her phone against the counter behind the espresso machine, thinking that maybe she dropped it one too many times. It wasn't loading the internet right. It was weirdly, freaking the ever-loving heck out. She'd watched the timezone jump her to Cairo, New Zealand, and then to Nowheresville, Kansas.
"Do refills cost extra?"
Raine slipped her phone back into her kangaroo pocket and rubbed her forehead. She'd probably had too much caffeine in an attempt to make it through today.
"Brewed coffee is free refills, actually. Dijou start with cold or hot?" Now that she was doing something, it was fine. She was always like that. Always an object in motion. She collected the patron's mug and went for the brew they kept in the warmer. Pretty gross stuff. The timer was almost up on it according to the overhead clock.
"Hey. Did you know your clock is fast?"
"Excuse me?"
The patron pointed. "Yeah, it's like almost an hour off."
Raine pulled out her phone, relieved that it was no longer freaking out. She looked at the phone. She looked at the clock.
She had literally been watching the seconds tick by. How had it gotten an hour ahead!?
"I-uh. Good catch. I'll get that fixed right away. Thanks." Soooo weird!

Sarabby
She didn't typically pay attention to the weather. The ocean and it's inhabitants usually kept her pretty up to date with the happenings. She knew if a big wave was coming or if it was going to get colder from experience watching her fellow sea dwellers. She usually swam away from the cold when it came near wherever she was.
Which is why the mermaid was shocked when something she had only vague memories of happened.
She was still near humans but she also couldn't stop herself from investigating. She had never seen the sky shed before. She'd seen the sky cry and rumble and shine. But never shed. And that's what it looked like as small white flakes floated down. Sticking the top of her head out of the water, the blonde watched as the flakes met the warm waters she swam in. And then the flakes were gone.
She could do this. She had plenty of time. Agnes repeated that to herself, time and time again, peering over the edge of the crate that she was hiding behind. She was dressed in her usual, vigilante attire, of a skin-tight, black body suit, along with a mask that covered all but her crystalline eyes. Her gloved hands went to her bandolier, carefully removing a small shuriken from its sheath. She was the epitome of silence and steal, her breathing shallow and quiet, her body still except for the subtlest of movements – she had to be, she was here on a mission.
She had gotten word that the 34th Street Crazy Boys were on the move again, trying to bring in a big drug shipment. It was not something that she was going to allow to poison the streets of New York City. While this should have been a job for the whole team, Agnes knew that everyone else had more important matters. Everyone worked or had personal plans – Agnes was the only one willing to offer up a free night of patrol. However – therein laid the catch. That stupid cat, Bijou needed to be given medication and she was the one who drew the short straw.
Still, it was only 9pm and the she had until 11pm to get back to the hospital; it was more than enough time to handle this drop-off, break a few skulls, and high-tail it back to the cat. Really, it was looking better by the day and this round of medicine should have been the last. Try as she might to convince Impact that her time could be better sent, it was an unsavory task she was strong-armed into doing. Whatever…she had time.
Hearing the sounds of Spanish being uttered, Agnes lifted her head to see the warehouse door opening and several burly men lifting the rolling door. A few minutes later she could see a truck turning down the alley, slowing as it got closer and closer to the warehouse. Tightening her fists, Agnes narrowed her eyes and shrunk down a little lower behind her only protection. They didn’t see her, at least not yet; when they did, they were going to damn well know it.
Once the truck pulled in, backwards into the warehouse, the burly began pulled a switch to start lowering the grate. Waiting until it was nearly to the ground, Agnes bounded form behind her boxes, ran at a dead run towards the rolling wall, and slide underneath just before it came to a clattering close upon the ground.
A smirk covered her lips as she eyed the surprised look of the men before her.
Thirty minutes. Agnes nodded to herself as she strolled out of the warehouse. Her fists were bloody, her costume was bloody, she was sure that some blood got on the small of her back (somehow), but she had managed to clean house pretty quickly. They put up a fight, though. She was certain she was going to be getting a new black eye thanks to a cheapa** sucker punch, but it was just another to add to the collection. At least she didn’t get stabbed this time.
Letting the door clatter closed behind her, Agnes breathed another deep breath. She had kept count how fast she took out the group inside. It was thirty, thirty-five minutes, tops. Just to be sure, she pulled out her burner phone to check the time. Maybe she could swing by that Korean placed she liked and pick up a late dinner before she went back to the hospital to handle that stupid ca—
”Two A.M??!” Agnes shook her head. There was no way that was right. Turning back, she found a man’s arm sticking out from under the metal grate. Leaning down, she checked his faux-rolex and, indeed, she spotted, as clear as day, 2:00am. Bewildered, she shook her head as she moved onto her feet. ”Stupid cat!” Agnes grumbled to herself as she broke into a run and started to climb the side of the building. Running across the rooftops will be easier so she could get back as quick as possible. ”Better not be dead by the time I get there…”
Devon laughed, sitting on his couch staring out the open French doors onto his terrace. Sunlight flickered over the pool’s surface before darkness swallowed the day and luminous black-violet colour danced within the water. It shifted and the trees laughed at him.
Whatever he’d gotten from the Syndicate was amazing. He blinked and the day moved. Dawn lasted forever and sunset never seemed to end. The fae of Shakespeare sprung out of his bookshelf and warned him of the foolishness of man. The three sisters foretold the broken hourglass but Devon could only laugh. The moon spun over the pool house and there was another blistering bolt of sunlight.
That’s when his thirty-minute alarm went off. He had a conference call in thirty more minutes. Time to eat something, have some water, and prepare for the call with the mayor’s office. Had he really seen all that?
The smart home app on his phone showed the outdoor lights had been triggered by something… Maybe it just got cloudy?
“Damn this stuff is awesome,” Devon laughed, slipped the blue-green bottle into his pocket, and skittered off to the kitchen.

Astrid closed her eyes and let her hands fall in her lap as she took in the peace of sitting under a sunset. She was on her favourite perch on top of the hospital, enjoying one of her favourite moments of the day. It was just her, sitting in open air, watching the day die in order to give way to a new one. It was nostalgic, but hopeful.
The sky was a blend of colours; oranges, pinks, reds, and a few purples. To Astrid, it was like someone had let their paint pallet run on top of itself, spilling colours upon colours upon colours. It was absolutely beautiful.
The winged mutant sighed deeply and let herself be taken over by the peaceful feeling of the evening. While she loved being on the X-Men, it could get hectic at times, especially when all she wanted to do was hold her cat and get a little bit of quiet alone time.
The sun had sunken down to the edge of the horizon, signalling that the day was officially over. With a hopeful glance, she watched it disappear altogether. Above her, the stars became slightly easier to see, despite the smog that rested over the city.
Astrid stood up and decided to go inside. She turned around, only to see that the sun was behind her, peeking out from the opposite horizon.
Confused, the teen spun around. Back in her other spot, the sky was still grasping to a few signs of the sunset; there were still colours that faded into the black. There was no way that she had somehow fallen asleep without realizing and woken up to the sunrise.
They were happening simultaneously.
Astrid blinked big blue eyes and stepped away from the scene. She had to get off that roof and get some sleep. All that staying up to watch things on Binge was clearly having some sort of adverse effect on her.

Manti rode down the road on his bike, leaning to one side as he turned down the street to the tunnel on Park Avenue. It had been a day and he was enjoying just riding around for the sake of it.It was easy to get so occupied with work that you didn't appreciate the little things.
He tore into the tunnel, putting on his lights as he passed into darkness. True he could see well i the dark, but he wasn't going to take a risk when someone else might miss him. A he did, he though hr caught something. A shimmer ahead of him that reflected the headlight. However it was gone when tried to see it. Maybe it had just been something shiny in the air, stray spiderwebs or something. He put it out of is mind as he continued onward.
Coming out the tunnel he suddenly felt like something was off, before the obvious hit him, hadn't it been light out? He knew it would be dark soon, but hadn't the sun still been out. Confused he pulled to one side of the road and parked for a moment, pulling out his phone to check the time. It was 3 hours later then what he thought. Had he lost track of time? He must have, it was the only explanation he could think of. Must have gotten lost in the moment. Oh well, he revved the engine and turned back into the street, time to head home...
